        We evaluated the effects of processing variables on interface irregularity. microstructure. and resultant Jc of BSCCC superconductor tape. For the tapes made by PIT technique. the degree of interface irregularity was varied with powder packing methods and forming process variables. It was observed that the degree of interface irregularity of the tape by CIP method was more reduced. compared to that of the tape by ram method. In addition. the degree of interface irregularity was promoted with decreasing the dimension of tape during forming process. As the dimension of wire/tape were changed from diameter of 3.25mm to thickness of 200㎛ during forming process. Jc value was observed to be increased by 10 times. It was likely that the improvenment of Jc was mainly result from the enhanced texturing of 2223 grain. Microstructural investigation showed the degree of texturing was degraded by the existence of both second phases and interface irregularity. If the interface was flat, larger grain size and better texturing near interface were developed compared to those inside superconducting core, The improvements of microstructure near interface may be result of reaction between Ag and superconductor phase.

        저자들은 척수압박으로 하지마비를 보인 환자에서 수술 후에 급성 백혈병에 동반된 과립구성 육종으로 진단된 환자 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Granulocytic sarcoma(GS) is an uncommon tumor composed of immature cells of the granulocytic series. Most case of GS occur in the course of acute leukemia and the blast crisis of chronic leukemia, Rarely, however, it may present before leukemia becomes clinically apparent. It may also occur in patients with myeloproliferative disoders. GS has been reported that it occurs in 3% to 9% of patients with acute myelogenous leukemia(AML) and the incidence of GS is reported to be higher in patients with t(8;21). GS occurs relatively commonly in africa and has been reported to affect 10-25% of black children presenting with AML. This is very rare case of granulocytic sarcoma with AML(FAB M5) presented with spinal cord compression which was supported by decompression laminectomy.

      • 자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포 이식술의 임상적용

        Responses to chemotherapy correlate with the increased dose of chemotherapeutic agents in some cancers, e.g. breast cancer, Ewing's sarcoma, Hodgkin's disease(HD) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL), then for the improvement of the chemotherapy responsiveness, high-dose chemotherapy(HDCT) was proposed. But, it's application was limited due to complications, especially bone marrow suppression. HDCT and succeeding autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation(APBSCT) was introduced to overcome this problem. This study was designed to determine the clinical pictures including clinical parameters and the responsiveness of HDCT followed by APBSCT in Hanyang University Hospital. Ten patients were enrolled. They were 8 adults (3 breast cancers, 3 multiple myelomas, 1 HD, 1 NHL) and 2 children (1 acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), 1 neuroblastoma). Mobilization chemocherapy(MCT) followed by Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor(G-CSF) was administered to mobilize stem cells from bone marrow to peripheral blood. The stem cells were collected by using CS-3000 and cryopreserved at -196℃ with programmed controlled rate freezer as the mixture with 10% dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO). HDCT was administered and cryopreserved peripheral stem cells were infused on day 0 as planned. Patients' mean age was 41 years old. After induction chemotherapy three patients achieved complete response and 5 partial response. The median time for bone marrow recovery after MCT was 11.5 days for neutrophil(〉500/㎣) and 4.8 days for platelet(〉20,000/㎣). There were three cases of neutropenic fever and one case of gingivitis. After HDCT with APBSCT, one patient was converted partial response to complete response, and one patient achieved complete response after HDCT without induction chemotherapy. The median time for bone marrow recovery was 12.7 days for neutrophil(〉500/㎣) and 14.7 days for platelet(〉20,000/㎣). Eight patients developed neutropenic fever and required systemic antibiotics. Transfusion was required 1.6 pints for packed red cell and 23.4 pints for platelet concentrates. Toxicity consisted mainly of vomiting, diarrhea, and mucositis which were mild. HDCT with APBSCT can be performed safely with minimal complications. For the evaluation of the exact role of HDCT with APBSCT in malignant diseases, further studies are required as a large scale of patients and lung-term follow up.

        A standardized construction information classification system is essential for organizing construction CALS and CM. In 1997, Uniclass system was developed for superseding CI/SfB system that was being used as a representative WBS. Uniclass system is organized on the basis of ISO frame and consists of tables for classifying information related to construction management and electronic commerce. This study was implemented for the analysis of applicability of Uniclass system, comparing with CI/SfB system, as a WBS for the construction CALS. This study suggests a alternative table of Uniclass to improve applicability in practical use. Uniclass system was analyzed as the best classification system for the civil engineering project among the existing systems, howewer, the classified items for CM and construction CALS need to be modified with more detailed items.

        Monomelic amyotrophy is a rare form of motor neuron disease which is insidious onset in the second and fourth decades, male preponderance, sporadic occurrence, wasting and weakness confined to one limb, and absence of involvement of the cranial nerves, cerebrum, brain, stem, and sensory system. Symptoms and signs often progress for several years before spontaneously arresting. Neurologic findings and electrophysiologic studies are only useful for the diagnosis of monomelic amyotrophy and other laboratory testing are frequently normal or nonspecific. We reported three cases of typical monomelic amyotrophy with review of the articles.

        크롬웰의 이상사회 정책과 그 성격

        This essay revisits the saint groups whom Oliver Cromwell wanted to get support to establish an ideal godly society and tries to find the reason why the godly rule failed. The aim of the Protectorate regime was to build a godly nation, a nation where the godly were led by the saints. The saints Cromwell found were the godly magistrates(Members of Parliament), the godly soldiers and the godly ministers. They all took part in the building of the godly nation and take England to a New Jerusalem. But the MPs throughout several parliaments were either too hasty or too reluctant to go along with Cromwell who believed God's providence and unity among the godly. The soldiers were the most cooperative group. But they were always considered as a temporary instrument. The rule of the major-generals were regarded as an arbitrary measure by the people, even though Cromwell found most helpful. The ministers also were reluctant to respond actively, as they found their parish was too much divided to influence over them. The radicals and sects were determined to have their own congregations and worship. The many moderates had still been attached to the prayer book anglicanism. All the saints Cromwell tried to get support for the godly society did not share what Cromwell aimed at. Cromwell's ideal society was doomed to fail

      • 단순남성임균성 요도염에 대한 Clavulanatepotentiated Amoxycillin(CPA)의 치료효과

        At the Venerel Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul 103 patients with uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis were allocated randomly into one of 2 treatment regimens and 101 male patients were followed. All 51 patients, including PPNG infections, treated with clavulante-potentiated amoxycillin, 375 mg, PO, t.i.d for 5 days recovered (100%). Two (4%) of 50 patients treated with clavulanate-potentiated amoxycillin, 3.25g, PO plus probvenecid, 1g, PO failed to recover. These cases were 2 of 25 Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae (PPNG) infections (failure rate of 8%) and all 25 non-PPNG infections recovered (100%). The antibiotics susceptibility pattern of pre-and post-treatment isolates from these cases did not give conclusive evidence of reinfection and the patients denied having has sexual intercourse during the follow up period. The fact that these treatment failure cases showed negative culture on the first follow up (at 24 hours) and positive result on the second follow up at 3rd post treatment day suggests that test of cure culture at 24 hours after treatment is not the optimal time. It is suggested that both of these clavulanate-potentiated amoxycillin regimens have simiarly good effect with minimal side effects in the treatment of gonococcal urethritis and , because of high rate of PPNGs among circulating N.gonorrhoeae, they can be recommended as the first line treatment for gonorrhoea in Korea.

        Among the several state space model building in time series, we investigate the forecasting ability of the Akaike method of model estimation and Aoki's method. There are important differences between two model estimation. Akaike uses the normalized Hankel matrix to extract state vector, while Aoki's method does not. In order to compare the efficiency of two method, we exploit the Monte Carlo approach for the several simulate multivariate co-related time series model.

        상아모세포 관련 유전자, OD314의 발현과 기능 연구 : OD314

        Odontoblasts are responsible for the formation and maintenance of dentin. They are known to synthesize unique gene products including dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP). Another unique genes of the cells remain unclear. OD314 was isolated from the odontoblasts/pulp cells of rats and partially characterized as an odonto-blast-enriched gene (Dey et al., 2001). This study aimed to elucidate the biological function of OD314, relating to odontoblast differentiation and dentinogenesis. After determining the open reading frame (ORF) of OD314 by transient transfection analysis using green fluorescent protein (GFP) expression vector, mRNA in-situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and western analysis were performed. The results were as follows: 1. In in-situ hybridization, OD314 mRNAs were expressed in odontoblasts of developing coronal and root pulp. 2, OD314 was a novel protein encoding 154 amino acids, and the protein was mainly expressed in cyto-plasm by transient transfection analysis. 3. Mineralized nodules were associated with multilayer cell nodules in the culture of human dental pulp cells and first detected from day 21 using alizarin-red S staining. 4. In RT-PCR analysis, OD314, osteocalcin (OC) and DSPP strongly expressed throughout 28 days of culture. Whereas, osteonectin (ON) mRNA expression stayed low up to day 14, and then gradually decreased from day 21. 5. Western blots showed an approximately 17 kDa band. OD314 protein was expressed from the start of culture and then increased greatly from day 21. In conclusion, OD314 is considered as an odontoblast-enriched gene and may play important roles in odontoblast differentiation and dentin mineralization.
