Objects-based coding algorithms segment image contents into set of objects or regions according to a given model and estimate their parameters like motion, shape, and color. It is known that object-based coding is more efficient coding method in videophone image sequence. It is difficult to detect moving object only using motion information. Chromaticity distribution of skin color is similar region independent of human race. This paper presents efficient image analysis method using both skin color and motion. The proposed algorithm is composed of facial region detection using skin color and region detection using motion information.

Most psychiatrists are familiar with the traditional anticonvulsants, carbamazepine and valproic acid, in the treatment of the patients with bipolar disorders. Lamotrigine, a new anticonvulsant, may have antidepressant and mood-stabilizing effects probably by inhibition of pathological glutamate release on the presynaptic membrane, especially in the treatment-refractory bipolar disorders. Treating depression in bipolar disorder can be difficult because of the limited antidepressant effects of the standard mood stabilizers and the tendency of antideressants to induce mania or decrease cycle length. Lamotrigine, a drug that has both mood stabilizing and antidepresasant effects, woud have an important role in the treatment of refractory bipolar disorders. The efficacy of verapamil in the treatment of mania has been examined in several small open trials and at least 7 double-blind trials, and that of nimodipine in a double-blind trial. Although preliminary data suggest that verapamil may have antimanic or mood-stabilizing properties, any conclusion about the efficacy of verapamil in the treatment of the lithiun-refractory or rapid cycling bipolar patients could not be drawn till now.
신경회로망 제어기를 이용한 PID 파라미터 추정에 관한 연구

In this paper, supposed to solve these problem to PID parameters controller algorithm using ANN. In the proposed algorithm, the parameters of the controller were adjusted to reduce by on-line system the error of the speed of IM. In this process, EBPA NN was constituted to an output error value of an IM and conspired an input and output. The performance of the self-tuning controller is compared with that of the PH) controller tuned by conventional method (Ziehler-Nichols). The effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified thought the Matlab Simulink and experimental results.

Vertical deformation and lateral flow can occur as a result of the construction of nearby embankments on a soft ground. This paper considered the behavior from a model test that situated pressure berms on the soft ground by trapezodial load., as varied the height and width of the pressure berm and height(H) of the load. But width(B) of the load is equal to all tests. The test results are as follows : 1. Maximum settlement occur at the center of the embankment and ending settlement is to the depth about 1.8B from the ground surface. 2. Maximum uplift location is about 0.3B ∼ 0.4B from the toe of the pressure berm and maximum uplift deformation occur with its height at H/2 without any influence from its width. 3. The width and height of the pressure berm for mimimum uplift deformation is 2H and H/3. 4. Maximum lateral flow occur to the depth at D/3 from the ground surface without any influence from its height and width.

Locoregional recurrence is the most common type of recurrence in surgical operation of gastric adenocarcinoma, and peritoneal dissemination is one of the most difficult problems in advanced gastric adenocarcinoma treatment. Because the peritoneal cavity is the most common site of the first recurrence after gastric cancer resection, intraperitoneal chemotherpy seems a logical choice for cancer chemotherapy. The Mitomycin C(MMC) adsorbed by the activated charcoal particles(CH) is relatively released when the drug concentration surrounding the carbon particles becomes low in the peritoneum of the peritoneal cavity. For the intraperitoneal chemotherapy on the advanced gastric adenocarcnoma, mitomycin C adsorbed on activated carbon particles was administered in the peritoneal cavity just before abdominal wall closure. The closed drainage tubes were inserted in the peritoneal cavity and clamped for tuo hours after completion of operation. MMC concentrations were serially measured in peritoneal fluid, plasma and urine at 2hour, 48 hour, 72 hour and 168 hour following its administration in order to study the efficacy of the MMC-CH as a drug delivery system. There were minimal toxicities in born marrow, liver, and gastrointestinal system after intraperitoneal MMC-CH administration. The data of this study suggested that MMC-CH may have a somewhat more beneficial effect than surgery alone when administered in optimal dose and schedules, but the MMC concentration of the peritoneal fluid was not sufficient to eradicate remnant cancer cells, and effective duration of maintenance was only below 24 hours in the peritoneal fluid and plasma.

As modern people's interest in health grows, wearable healthcare-related technologies that can collect biometric information and receive health-related services regardless of time and place are developing. This paper proposes the healthcare system based on voice recognition function. Unlike conventional wearable healthcare systems, the proposed system provides real-time telemedicine and diagnosis and the direct connection with doctors is possible through it. And almost all functions of the application in it are operated with voice commands to lower user access barriers. Because it deals with personal information including medical information, encryption algorithms have been applied between all data movements. Finally, the healthcare system proposed in this paper is expected to increase convenience in health care and reduce the medical gap.

Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) is characterized by the congenital impairment of mucociliary clearance. When accompanied by situs inversus, chronic sinusitis and bronchiectasis, PCD is known as Kartagener syndrome. The main consequence of impaired ciliary function is a reduced mucus clearance from the lungs, and susceptibility to chronic respiratory infections due to opportunistic pathogens, including nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). There has been no report of NTM lung disease combined with Kartagener syndrome in Korea. Here, we report an adult patient with Kartagener syndrome complicated with Mycobacterium abscessus lung disease. A 37-year-old female presented to our hospital with chronic cough and sputum. She was ultimately diagnosed with M. abscessus lung disease and Kartagener syndrome. M. abscessus was repeatedly isolated from sputum specimens collected from the patient, despite prolonged antibiotic treatment. The patient’s condition improved and negative sputum culture conversion was achieved after sequential bilateral pulmonary resection.

Blind spot monitoring (BSM) is one of the essential functions of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). In this paper, we propose a vision-based monitoring algorithm to detect vehicles in a blind-spot area using a rear-view camera. Instead of moving around the whole image to search for a vehicle, we use well-defined detection windows with fixed position and size. And we used histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) and the support vector machine (SVM) to detect a vehicle in each detection window. When a vehicle is detected, we compute the motion vector of the vehicle to determine if it approaches the ego vehicle or not. The alarm signal is finally generated based on history of events. To evaluate performance of the BSM algorithm, we captured various kinds of sequences by using a rear-view camera. Experimental results reveal precision higher than 98% and recall higher than 99%. We also develop high-speed methods to improve processing speed while keeping performance degradation as minimal as possible. Implementation of this fast algorithm on a commercial embedded device validated real-time characteristics of the proposed BSM algorithm.
