Purpose: The consequences of precipitously rising allergic skin inflammation rates worldwide have accelerated the risk of atopic dermatitis (AD). Natural product-based agents with good efficacy and low risk of side effects offer promising prevention and treatment strategies for inflammation-related diseases. We have already reported that Platycodon grandiflorum root-derived saponins (Changkil saponins, CKS) have many pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, but its influence on AD remains unclear. Therefore, we evaluated the inhibitory effect of CKS, mainly platycodin D, on AD-like skin symptoms in mice and the possible mechanisms in cells. Methods: Mice were sensitized and challenged with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB). Four weeks after challenge, mice were treated with oral administration of CKS for 4 weeks. In addition, cells were used to evaluate the effect of CKS, mainly platycodin D, on the TARC expression regulated mechanism. Results: CKS attenuated DNCB-induced dermatitis severity, serum levels of IgE and TARC, and mRNA expression of TARC, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13 in mice. Histopathological examination showed reduced thickness of the epidermis/dermis and dermal infiltration of inflammatory cells and mast cells in the ears. Moreover, CKS and platycodin D inhibited TNF-α/IFN-γ-induced TARC expression through the suppression of NF-κB and STAT1 and induction of Nrf2/ARE-mediated hemeoxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression in cells. Conclusion: We suggest that CKS and platycodin D inhibited the development of AD-like skin symptoms by regulating cytokine mediators and may be an effective alternative therapy for AD-like skin symptoms.ⓒ2014 Elsevler Gmbh. In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

Bluetooth stands for a technical specification for radio communication or a radio equipment that uses the Bluetooth specification of which the main purpose is to substitute the complicated communication cable of the informative device or electronic apparatus used at home or industrial fields, and was expected to be a mastermind of revolution in the short range radio communication. In This paper, a small inverted F antenna on the dielectric substrate using Bluetooth system is studied theoretically, characterized by numerical analysis with computer simulation. For the miniaturization of the antenna, dielectric substrate (ε_(r)=4.6) and planar line structure are used. Fabricated inverted F antenna is measured and the result is that resonant frequency is 2.45 GHz, input impedance is 50 Ω and bandwidth is about 100 MHz at VSWR 1.5. Especially, the proposed antennas can be applied to the design of various communication systems for 2.4 GHz band.

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the response of Precast Prestressed Concrete Interior Wide Beam-Column Joint subjected to cyclic lateral loading. To this end, the experimental investigation was performed with six half-scale specimens of interior connection. The design parameters are the beam to column depth ratio, and the number of tendons within column core. One of the specimens, IJH-6, is modeled for the connection at the top floor of a structure. The test results showed that the specimens sufficiently resist up to limiting drift ratio of 0.035 in accordance with the provisional standard by ACI of acceptance criteria for concrete special moment frames.

A plant can be represented with several mathematical models. One model has the states of the other model and these states consist of total process which has process inputs and outputs. This means that one model can be included into the other model. The model is reduced and obtained model order reduction. In this paper the system has a nonlinear model and a submodel which has a block diagonal "A" matrix. After submodel controller design, the reduced model which includes the controller is calculated with singular perturbation method.

This paper describes a new master-slave type predictive controller design for cascade system which consists of two loops, such as main and subject loop. Each loop controller may be designed with tile distinctive prediction method. Main loop is controlled independently and has its own predictive horizons, criterion, optimal condition, and input-output situation. But slave-loop controller must be designed in subject to master-loop conditions : system parameters, state variation, loop references and so on. For the purpose of effective controller design, several factors of slave-loop are constra.ned and decided by the master-loop prediction data. And using this technique, controller Included system stability conditions are also obtained.

The cavitation erosion-corrosion under such an or ironments became a serious problem on a mechanical devices and structures by the shock wave or shock pressure result when bubbles form and collapse at a surface of metal within a liquid. If the liquid is corrosive to the material, the component of material may have serious damage by a combination of mechanical and electrochemical attack. Therefore, it is very important to study the behaviour of the cavitation erosion-corrosion damage. In this study, austenitic stainless steel was investigated by using the poezoelectric vibrator with 20㎑, 24㎛ to cavity generation apparatus. The composition of test solutions are artificial seawater, tap wafter, distilled water and various solutions of pH( from pH 0 to pH 12 ). Every cases of these test, the erosion-corrosion damages under vibratory cavitation are measured by weight loss, weight loss rate and potentiodynamic polarization curves.
