Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

국내 난방 시스템은 대부분 화석에너지를 열원으로 하는 온수순환방식이다. 화석에너지를 사용하기 때문에 난방 시스템 가동에서 발생되는 공해는 대기 오염의 여러 원인 중 하나이며 가동 효율도 떨어진다.<br/> 이러한 단점들을 보완하기 위하여 새롭게 보급되고 있는 난방 시스템 중 히프파이프를 이용한 난방시스템은 전기에너지를 열원으로 사용하는 청정에너지로서 기존 난방시스템 보다 40%의 에너지 절감 효과를 나타내고 있다. 본 논문은 전기에너지를 사용하는 히팅 시스템의 제어를 위하여 개발된 컨트롤러에 관한 것이다.

The present study was attempted to investigate the effects of total ginseng saponin (GTS), panaxadiol-type (PDS) and panaxatriol-type saponin (PTS) on contractile responses of vasoconstrictors in aortic smooth muscle stripes of normotensive (NR) and spontaneous hypertensive rats (SHR). Phenylephrine (an adrenergic α1-receptor agonist) and high potassium (a membrane depolarizing agent) caused greatly contractile responses in both NR and AHR aorta, respectively. Phenylephrine- and high potassium-induced contractile responses were greater in NA than those in SHR aortic smooth<br/> muscle stripes. In NR, the contractile responses of high potassium (5.6×10.2 M) were not affected in the presence of GTS (300 μg/ml), PDS (300 μg/ml), and PTS (300 μg/ml), respectively whereas phenylephrine (10.6 M)-induced contractile responses were markedly inhibited. In SHR, the contractile responses of high potassium (5.6×10.2 M) were not affected in the presence of GTS (300 μg/ml), PDS (300 μg/ml), and moderate doses of PTS (150-300 μg/ml), respectively but greatly blocked by high concentration of PTS (600 μg/ml). Phenylephrine (10.6 M)-induced contractile responses were<br/> inhibited in a dose dependent fashion (150-600 μg/ml) by the pretreatment with PTS while not altered in the presence of GTS (300 μg/ml) and PDS (300 μg/ml), respectively. Taken together, these experimental results suggest that ginseng saponins cause vascular relaxation through blockade of adrenergic α1-receptors and some unknown mechanisms, and that there is some difference in sensitivity of vascular smooth muscle between NR and SHR in responses to ginseng saponins. It seems that panaxatriol type of some ginseng saponins has the greatest potency in vascular relaxation.

제노테크(주)는 NFC기반 2 factor 전자결제시스템의 보안기능 향상을 위해 FIDO인증기술을 이전받았으며 이를 활용하여 새로운 서비스인 갤러리-옥션을 개발하였고 대구 전시회에서 데모 시연을 진행하였다. 시연 결과 배너 제작 및 설치, UI변경, 동작 순서 변경 등의 개선 요구 사항이 있었으며 요구 사항을 바탕으로 갤러리-옥션을 개선하였다. 이후 개선된 갤러리-옥션의 2차 데모시연을 ‘아트:광주:17’에서 진행하였고 동시에 ‘아트:광주:17’의 시간당 입장객 수를 분석 및 시각화를 수행하였다. Acquisition of the FIDO authentication technology in pursuit of improved security function of the NFC-based 2 factor electronic payment system enabled GenoTech Ch., Ltd. to develop its new service, Gallery-Auction, demoed at Daegu Exhibition. The demonstration was followed by the improvement requests in banner creation & installation, changes in UI, changes in order of operation, etc, which were taken into account for the succeeding update. During the second demonstration held at Art: Gwangju: 17, it analyzed and visualized the number of visitors per hour there.
방사선 조사가 파보바이러스 예방용 IgY를 함유하는 난황분말의 살균과 안정성에 미치는 영향

The gamma irradiation has been used as a method of sterilization which is often needed for long-term storage of various dried-foods by preventing them from decomposition. In present study, we tested the sterilization effects of gamma irradiation on the egg yolk powder containing anti-canine parvovirus yolk antibody (IgY) which can be used for controling canine parvovirus infection. Egg yolk powder was gamma irradiated at various levels (0.08, 0.4, 2, 10 and 50 kGy), stored at 4℃ and 20℃ for 60 days, and measured on sterility and antibody titer. Counting of aerobic bacteria indicated that samples irradiated at 0.4, 2 and 10 kGy were 89-94, 93-99 and 100% sterilized, respectively compared to non- irradiated control. ELISA test showed that gamma irradiation at 2 kGy or less did not make significant influence on antibody titer, whereas irradiation at 10 kGy induced about 15% reduction of antibody titer. Neither bacterial count nor antibody titer was affected by storage temperature after gamma irradiation. Conclusively, the proper level of gamma irradiation was about 2 kGy to achieve maximum sterilization on egg yolk powder without diminishing antibody titer.
Studies on influence and fate of carbamazepine in anaerobic digestion of sludge

<P>Increased consumption of pharmaceutical compounds compounded by their persistence in biological treatment processes and potential toxicity is becoming a serious concern. The aim of the present study was to investigate the fate of an antiepileptic drug, carbamazepine (CBZ), in anaerobic digestion process and its impact on methanogenic metabolism. Biochemical methane potential of CBZ with or without glucose was studied for 40 days in designed batch experiments. About 67.98% and 66.37% of spiked CBZ (about 100 mu g1(-1)) were removed during this period from glucose amended or unamended sets, respectively. Loss of CBZ through adsorption onto suspended particles, as in sterilized seed sludge control (16.98%), was significantly lower in comparison to its biotic counterparts (P=0.002 and P=0.003). Analysis of methane or biogas production revealed no inhibitory effect of CBZ toward methanogenic process at its tested concentration. Differences in cumulative methane yields between glucose containing sets with or without CBZ were insignificant (P=0.885). This study suggests that any residual CBZ concentration lower than the present study, if detected in waste-water, might not significantly affect the methanogenic process.</P>
