In Vitro Antiviral Activity of Ribavirin Against Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome Virus Myung Jin LEE1, Kye-Hyung KIM1, Jongyoun YI2, SuJin CHOI1, Chung-Jong KIM1, Nak- Hyun KIM1, Kyoung-Ho SONG1, Pyoeng Gyun CHOI1, Ji-Hwan BANG1, Wan Beom PARK1, Eu Suk KIM1, Sang-Won PARK1, Hong Bin KIM1, Nam Joong KIM1, Myoung- Don OH1 Seoul National University College of Medicine, Korea1, Pusan National University School of Medicine, Korea2 Background: Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging infectious disease caused by a novel Bunyavirus, severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV). No effective antiviral therapy is proven yet, but clinical use of ribavirin (RBV) has been tried. We investigated the antiviral effect of RBV against SFTSV in vitro. Methods: To test for cytotoxicity of RBV, Vero cells were treated with different concentrations of RBV (3.90 to 500 μg/mL, two-fold dilution) and analyzed by cell viability MTS assay 48h post-infection. To determine antiviral activity of RBV against SFTSV, Vero cells were infected with SFTSV strain Gangwon/Korea/2012 at 100 TCID50 (50% tissue culture infective dose) per well in a 96-well plate, and RBV was added at the concentrations showing no or minimal cytotoxicity. Viral RNAs were extracted from the culture supernatants and quantifi ed using one-step real-time reverse transcription- PCR to amplify the partial large segment of SFTSV. Statistical analysis was done by one-way ANOVA with Tukey`s post hoc test. Results: Cytotoxicity due to RBV was not observed at RBV concentration =31.3 μg/ mL. Viral RNAs at 24h post-RBV treatment were reduced with increasing RBV concentrations (1-32 μg/mL), compared with those of mock-treated cells (P <0.01, Figure). Half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of RBV was 3.69 μg/mL at 24h post-RBV treatment. Conclusions: Our study shows that RBV has antiviral effect against SFTSV in a dose-dependent manner. Further studies are required to evaluate the effi cacy of RBV in SFTS.

Objective : We assessed the surgical results of bipolar release in 31 adult patients with uncorrected congenital muscular torticollis (CMT) and more than 12 months of follow-up. Methods : Thirty-one patients underwent a bipolar release of the sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM) and were retrospectively analyzed. The mean follow-up period was 14.9 months (range, 12-30). The mean age at time of surgery was 30.3 years (range, 20-54). Patients were evaluated with a modified Lee's scoring system, cervicomandibular angle (CMA) measurement, and a global satisfaction rating scale using patient self-reporting. Results : The modified Lee's scoring system indicated excellent results in 4 (12.9%) patients, good in 18 (58.1%), and fair in 9 (29.0%) at the last follow-up after surgery. The improvements in neck movement and head tilt were statistically significant (p<0.05). The preoperative mean CMA was $15.4^{\circ}$ (range, 5.4-29.0), which was reduced to a mean of CMA of $6.3^{\circ}$ (range, 0-25) after surgery (p<0.05). The global satisfaction rating scale was 93.7% (range, 90-100). A transient sensory deficit on the ipsilateral lower ear lobe was noted in three cases. No significant permanent complications occurred. Conclusion : Bipolar release of the SCM is a safe and reliable technique for the treatment of CMT in adults.

A five years old female Shih-tzu was referred to the veterinary medical teaching hospital at Chungnam national university with soft bloody diarrhea and tenesmus. On rectal palpation, solid mass was palpated in colorectal region. In radiographs, small intestine was deviated cranially, descending colon and rectal junction were deviated caudoventrally in lateral projection of the abdomen. In ultrasonographs, hypoechoic nodulation of mesenteric lymph node in colorectal junction, mixed echoic thickening of colorectal wall and irregular margination were observed. Rectal endoscopy revealed that colorectal men was partially obstructed due to compression of the mass. Also, severe ulceration, inflammation and hemorrhage were also observed in descending colon. The mass was resected through the laparotomy. In histopathology, it was diagnosis of lymphoma in the colorectal junction.

It is important to interpret the soil chemical properties in order to effectively manage the farmland. This study was conducted to investigate the soil chemical properties of upland soybean field according to the soil series at 32 upland fields located in the parts of Gangwon-do. Soil sampling sites were selected by using the National Statistics DB and KSIS DB that is a soil environment information system provided by the Rural Development Administration. Soil samples were collected from 0~15 cm of top soil before seeding or transplanting, air-dried, passed through a 2 mm sieve, and analyzed for soil pH, EC, organic matter, available phosphorus (P2O5), exchangeable potassium, exchangeable calcium and exchangeable magnesium. The average chemical properties have exceeded the each nutrient optimum range level of RDA, except the organic matter in experimental soil 2015. And despite application of conventional fertilization, each soil series nutrient contents were change respectively. The results of this study suggest that conventional fertilization should be applied based on the analysis about the amount of accumulated nutrient contents in the soil.
분자동력학과 몬테카를로의 혼성 분자시뮬레이션에 의한 다가전해질 복잡유체의 미세구조 특성 연구

분자동력학(molecular dynamics)과 몬테카를로(Monte Carlo)의 혼성(hybrid) 알고리즘을 이용하여 harmonic spring 사슬과 하전된 단분자(monomer)들 사이의 Debye-Hu¨ckel potential로 표현된 다가전해질(polyelectrolyte)의 미세구조 특성을 규명하였다. Polyelectrolyte의 단일 사슬에 대해서 기존에 제안된 분자동력학과 몬테카를로의 혼성 알고리즘을 개선하여, polyelectrolyte의 conformation 특성인 끝단거리(end-to-end distance), 선회반경(radius of gyration), 그리고 구조인자(structure factor)를 한층 효율적으로 구할 수 있는 새로운 모사 기법을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 새로이 개발된 알고리즘에 의한 모사결과와 기존 문헌값과의 비교를 통해 해석 방법의 타당성과 정확성을 검증하였다. 끝단거리와 선회반경간 평균제곱의 비와 구조인자의 계산을 통해, polyelectrolyte 단분자의 하전율(charge fraction)을 대변하는 Bjerrum length λ_β와 용액의 이온화세기에서 결정되어 용매의 screening 정도를 나타내는 Debye length k^-1가 증가함에 따라 사슬이 신장되는 거동을 확인하였다. The microstructural properties of charged polyelectrolytes described by a potential model regarding both the harmonic springs and Debye-Hu¨ckel interaction were investigated by employing a hybrid scheme of molecular dynamics(MD) and Monte Carlo(MC) simulations. Based on the previous hybrid scheme, a novel hybrid scheme has been developed in the present study, with which computational efforts are effectively reduced. We present the conformational properties such as end-to-end distance, radius of gyration and structure factor. It is evident that the simulation results of the present study agree well with the previously reported results. The elongation behavior of the polyelectrolyte chain can successfully be observed by the calculations of the characteristic mean square ratio of end-to-end distance to radius of gyration as well as the structure factor. As the Bjerrum length λ_β and the Debye length k^-1 increase, the polyelectrolyte chain becomes elongated.
기혼남녀의 가족응집성ㆍ가족적응력 및 가정자원만족도에 관한 연구-경기도 안성지역 거주자를 중심으로- : 경기도 안성지역 거주자를 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship among the family cohesion, adaptability and satisfaction with family resources of rural married persons. The subjects of this study were 435 married women and men in Ansung. The major findings were as follows : 1. The family adaptability of rural married persons was significantly different depending on their job, the type of dwelling, locus of control and identity. 2. Their satisfaction with family resources was significantly different depending on their educational level, job, the type of family, family income and identity. 3. The results of the relatvie contribution for the variables of satis-faction with family resources are as follows. The explanation of socio-demographic variable is 11.31%. The explanation is 24.26% as the identity and locus of control variables is added. As the variable of family cohesion and adaptability is added, the explain power is 26.61%. The relative contribution of psychological variables on their satisfaction with family resources is the highest among other variables.

This study is about the history of Hwianzi(淮南子)‘s study in Chian and Korea. So far, esseys for Hwianzi are relatively very few. The reason for this maybe from a misunderstanding for Hwianzi : Hwianzi has no a core thought. However this text is a essential book for the study of Hwang-Lao(黃老學). Because it has abundant materials for the early Taoism and the Hwang-Lao Taoism. Therefore we have to study this text profundly to know the outline of Hwang-Lao. Nowdays, not a few scholars have concern for Hwianzi and not a few essays have produced. So we can expect a great growth in study of Hwianzi in the future.
