Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

The objective of this study was to determine if sports massage exert influence upon change of blood ingredient. 1) R.B.C is exposed that the mean value of rest before a surgical operation is 487, and after taking exercise 528. The mean value of rest after a surgical operation is 500, and after taking exercise 563. 2) W.B.C is exposed that the mean value of rest before a surgical operation is 7.610㎎/㎗, and after taking exercise 8.574㎎/㎗. The mean value of rest after a surgical operation is 8.718㎎/㎗, and after taking exercise 9.717㎎/㎗. 3) Hematocrit(Hct) is exposed that the mean value of rest before a surgical operation is 44.11㎎/㎗, and after taking exercise 47.1㎎/㎗. The mean value of rest after a surgical operation is 46㎎/㎗, and after taking exercise 51.7㎎/㎗. 4) Hemoglobin(HB) is exposed that the mean value of rest before a surgical operation is 14.4㎎/㎗, and after taking exercise 15.2㎎/㎗. 카라기난 분해효소 생산균의 분리, 동정, 및 효소생산 최적 조건

해양 동식물, 토양 등으로부터 분리한 카라기난 분해능이 확인되었던 80여 균중에서 환원당 생성능이 가장 높았던 strain no.43 균주를 최종 시험균주로 선택하여 이 균주의 최적 효소 생산 조건을 실험하였다. 질소원으로는 nutrient broth 0.7% 농도가 가장 적절한 조건이었고, 탄소원의 농도는 카라기난 0.2%가 가장 높은 효소활성을 나타내었다. NaCl 농도는 1.5%, pH, 온도는 각각 7.0, 30℃로 이 조건에서 96시간 배양하는 것이 가장 적절한 효소 생산 조건이었음이 확인되었다. 각종 생화학 실험을 통해 동정을 행한 결과 그람음성 간균으로 oxidase, catalase 생성의 호기성균, indole 비생성, proline, arginine, serine, citrate, lactate 이용성, gelatin 액화, glucose, fructose, maltose 비이용, mannitol 이용 등의 특성으로부터 Pseudomonas alcaligenes로 동정할 수 있었고 Pseudomonas alcaligenes JCL-43으로 명명하였다. The 80 strains which produce carrageenan degrading enzyme were isolated from soils, mud, seaweed, marine moluscus and echonodermata samples. Among them, one isolated strain, which showed the highest activity to produced carrageenan degrading enzyme, was used for this study. The isolated strain was identified as Pseudomonas alcaligenes through its morphological, biochemical, and physiological characteristics. The best conditions for enzyme production were 0.7% nutrient broth and 0.2% carrageenan as nitrogen and carbon source, respectively. The optimal pH, NaCl, temperature and culture time for carrageenan degrading enzyme were 7.0, 1.5%, 30* and 96hrs, respectively.

돌소리쟁이를 섭식하는 좀남색잎벌레의 생태에 관하여

유럽과 일본 등지에서 Biological control agent로 사용하는 Gastrophysa屬의 좀남색잎벌레(Gastrophysa atrocyanea) 생활사를 실내 사육을 통해 고찰하고 야외 조사를 통해 난괴의 크기 및 부화율을 조사하였다. 각 성장단계별 경과일수는 알 3.19±0.39일, 1령 유충 2.28±0.77일, 2령 유충 2.10±0.48일, 3령 유충 4.90±0.72일, 번데기 3.80±0.49일로 총 16.27±1.11일 만에 성충으로 우화하였다. 야외에서 돌소리쟁이(Rumex obtusifolius)의 잎 뒷면에 산란된 좀남색잎벌레의 난괴를 채집하여 조사한 결과, 난괴 당 알수는 32.04±12.02개로 조사되었다. 부화는 치음 산란한 날(D)로부터 평균 3일이 소요되며 첫날(D+3) 부화율은 80.6%, 둘째날(D+2) 부화율은 9.3%, 셋째날(D+3) 부화율은 0.68% 등 총 부화율은 91.02%로 매우 높게 나타났다. Gastrophysa atrocyanea. a chrysomelid that feed on Rumex spp., introduced Europe and Japan for biological control agent of Ruinex obtusifolius. Life cycle investigated in vitro; clutch size and hatching rate studied in field. In vitro ovipositied a total of 5 egg mass containing 197(n= 5 in May, 2001). The development time of immature stage of G. atrocyanea is Egg →lst Larva 3.19± 0.39 days, 1st → 2nd larva 2.10±0.48days, 2nd -3rd larva 4.90±0.72days. 3rd - + →pupa 3.80±0.39day-s and total 16.27± 1.11days. In 1st. 2nd and 3rd day, Hatchability of G. atrocyanea was 80.6%. 9.396, 0.68% respectively. Total hatchability of G. afrocyanea was 90.58%.

An Ac-type Plasma Display Panel (PDP) operating with Ne-Ar(0.1%) Penning mixture gas is fabicated. The characterics of the panel with electrodes covered with thin and thick dielectric layers are studied. The brightness of the Neon-orange light emitted by the panel measured as function of applied voltage and frequency. As an application, a graphic display system equipped with PDP showing still and moving pictures is made.

줄넘기 운동과 달리기 운동이 비만 초등학생의 신체성분 변화 및 기초체력에 미치는 영향

This study has it's purpose on choosing a reasonable exercising program and finding detailed training skills for preventing child obesity and increasing physical fitness, by analyzing the correlation the improvement of body composition with increase of physical fitness through Jumping-rope exercise and interval running training for obesity children. To study a new program, we divided into Jumping-rope group(l0) and interval running group(l0), then trained them with a new program for 12 weeks. After measuring subjects body composition and physical fitness, we tested the means of each difference, the results are as followings. First, body composition were effective for muscle(p<.001), fat(p<.01), in Jumping-rope group and moisture(p<.05), muscle(p<.001) in running group. Second, basic physical fitness, was effective for 50m run(p<.01), sit-up(p<.001), 1000m run(p <.05), bending-down(p<.001) in jumping-rope group and 50m run(p<.001), a long jump(p<.001), sit-up(p<.001), 1000m run(p<.01), bending-down(p<.001) in running group. Third, there was nothing significant for body water(p<.696), muscle(p<.516), fat(p<.606) in two groups. Fourth, we got a significant difference in 1000m run(p<.05) from two groups. As a conclusion, according to this study, jumping-rope affected positively in body composition, while running did in physical fitness.

급성 근골격질환에 있어서 피록시캄 근육주사제의 임상적 연구 : An Open, Non-Comparative Trial

The authors have conducted a clinical study to evaluate the efficacy and toleration with newly developed piroxicam injectable (I. M.) to thirty-one cases of the patients of musculoskeletal disorders during five months from Oct. 1986 to Feb. 1987. Treatment for the patients was initiated with two amples of piroxicam 20mg I. M. daily for first two days and followed administration one ample of 20mg piroxicam daily for three to seven days. Results were as follows: 1. Out of 31 cases, male were 16 (50.5%), female 15(49.5%), and predominant age group was 20-29 years old 11(35.4%). 2. Major indications were sprained ankle and sprained PIP joint disorders 11(35.7%), 12(38.7 %), respectively. 3. Overall efficacy, more than good was 83.8% by patients and 96.8% by physician. 4. Overall tolerance, more than good was 90.3% by patients and 90.3% by physician (excluded four cases). 5. Side effects were seen in 4 patients such as I case of constipation, 2 cases of abdominal pain and 1 case of vomiting. 6. Conclusion: The piroxicam I. M. was very effective and well tolerated for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and side effects were few and generally mild.

초기우식병소에 대한 레이저 fluorescence 의 광학적 탐지감도

The aim of this study was to evaluate the optical density of laser fluorescence for detection of incipient caries. Prepared and polished bovine enamel specimens were demineralized in a STPP solution for varying periods of time between 3 hrs. and 60 hrs. with an area of sound enamel retained on each specimen. The randomized specimens were analyzed for optical density of enamel deminaralization using laser fluorescence. The specimens were sectioned and examined lesion depth by posarizing light microscope. Results were analyzed statistically with SAS program. The results from this study can be summarized as follows: 1. Optical density measured by laser fluorescence and lesion depth measured by polarizing light microscope was increased as demineralization time was increased(p<0.001). 2. Between optical density measured by laser fluorescence and lesion depth measured by polarizing light microscope was correlated highly(γ≥0.74956, p<0.001). 3. Regressive equation was obtained in this study as follows. Y=[X-0.260851]/ 0.000271 (R-square : 0.5618, p<0.001) (X: DENSITY, Y: DEPTH) In summary, optical density measured by laser fluorescence would be within the range of possibility to quantitatively presume demineralization amount of incipient caries lesion.

특정적 광과민성 피부증상 없이 우울증으로 입원한 전신성 홍반성 낭창 1례

We experienced a 22-years-old female patient with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who was admitted with major depressive disorder symptoms such as a depressive mood, loss of appetite, weight loss, insomnia, and fatigue. She did not show any characteristic photosensitive cutaneous symptoms of SLE when she came to the hospital. Antidepressants and psychotherapy under hospitalization did not show any improvements in her depressive symptoms. Her past history revealed Raynaud's phenomenon and arthralgia, leukopenia, normochronic normocytic anemia and elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate were detected on her routine laboratory examinations. We considered an autoimmune connective tissue disease and performed specific hematologic and immunologic tests. We confirmed that her systemic symptoms and results of specific tests were fitted to a case of SLE, so we started prednisolone medication. After treating the patient with prednisolone for 2 weeks, her psychiatric and systemic symptoms of SLE were improved. We concluded that psychiatrists have to pay attention to SLE that can manifest depressive symptoms without characteristic photosensitive cutaneous symptoms of SLE.
