The purpose of the study was to measure isokinetic strength of knee(60˚/sec, 180˚/sec), shoulder(607sec, 120°/sec) and elbow(60Vsec, 120˚/sec) using cybex-770. Twenty four judo athletes, eight for weight level were employed. The results were reported using strength(Nm/BW) as compared with subject's own weight. For statistical analysis one-way independent groups ANOVA and Bonferroni were used(a=.05). With above method and procedure the results as following was obtained; 1. The peak torque per body weight of knee flexion/extension were no statistical differences among 3 groups(p>.05). But flexion/extension was highest in -86kg group than in -78, -95kg groups at all peak torque. 2. In shoulder flexion/extension there were statistical significant differences among 3 groups at all peak torque(p<.05). Both 607sec, 1207sec of flexion and extension was highest in -86kg group than -78, ~95kg groups, but 607sec of left flexion were no statistical significant differences between -78, -86 and -95kg group(p>.05). 3. In elbow flexion/extension were no statistical differences among 3 groups(p>.05). But 1207sec of right flexion were appeared higher statistical significant in -86kg group than -78, -95kg group(p<.05). Therefore weight level of elite Judo athletes, isokinetic strength were appeared highest in -86kg group than -78, -95kg groups.

Generally, the traffic noise occurring on roads has emerged as an important factor that harms the residential environment. Because of the noise, residents living near roads have been causing civil complaints. Therefore, it is required to evaluate road traffic noise during the whole procedures of building an apartment, ranging from design to construction. And if an evaluated noise exceeds regulation standards, some measures to prevent the noise, such as installation of soundproof walls. and other kinds of plans should be prepared. In this point, this work measured road traffic noise in a site of housing land development, investigated its characteristics, and used a simulation program to predict outdoor noise on the basis of the data about traffic effect evaluation, design drawing, and the data about site measurement. Based on the prediction, it also predicted indoor noise. It is judged that this research will serve as an important material to establish sound proof measures on the basis of prediction of traffic noise in building an apartment.

Lately, Koreans are drastically getting more interested in sports to improve their health as the quality of their life is improving. Following this trend, government agencies and local organizations have been continuously building community sport facilities near residential areas. These facilities are required to be equipped with a good level of acoustic performance for music and speech delivery: communication and / or music between sports-players while games, leisure sports, and training are carried out. However, excessive reverberation occurs at most of old community sports facilities built with lightweight panels as finishing materials so the facilities users have been continuously complained about this. With respect to this, the research has attempted to suggest the optimum acoustic performance of six community sports facilities that lightweight panels were used for finishing materials. After acoustic performance surveys of these facilities were carried out and found out the problems using acoustic simulations. The results of the surveys revealed that excessive reverberation occurred at the facilities with lightweight panels and this caused difficulties of communication. Acoustic performance of the community sports facilities was evaluated to be suitable after adjustments of the room constant according to their appropriate Reverberation Time (RT). This result is thought be useful for design and refurbishment of similar community sport facilities in the future.

This study aims to understand and analyze problems on applying performance assessment to physical education in high school, and to offer basic data to seek for measures to settle performance assessment in physical education. The specific themes are, first, we analyze the present condition of reflection of the assessment in physical training. knowledge. and attitude in physical education. Second. we analyze teachers' implementation of performance assessment. Third, we compare the recognition of performance assessment according to students' gender. Fourth, we compare the recognition of performance assessment according to the type of schools. For the research, twelve high schools in the Metropolitan area were randomly selected, and 50 physical education teachers and 305 high school students in third grade were polled. Collected data from teachers were classified by type after frequency study. and the data from the students were analyzed in terms of frequency. by the means of Independent T-test for verification of average deviation between male and female students and by means of one-way ANOVA for analysis of school type-related results. When there was any significant difference among groups, Tukey method was applied for the aftermath verification. The results are as follows. First, the reflection rate of assessment on physical training. knowledge and attitude in physical education was found to be 60: 30: 10. Second, teachers implement physical training assessment mostly in two sports per semester. Most teachers assess focusing on the record (the number of times), and implement the assessment twice per each sport. Classroom assessment and assignment assessment are implemented if required. As for exam questions for knowledge assessment. most teachers gave only multiple-choice type questions. Most teachers also implement knowledge assessment with various other measures such as experiment. drill, physical training test and report. Assessment of attitude is mostly implemented by teachers. They evaluate such factors as uniform, participation, attendance, absence, and lateness. Students' behavior and attitude during classes are also mostly reflected in assessment. 68.8% (thirty three) respondents answered that they evaluated students' attitude every class. Third. as for the awareness of performance assessment according to students' gender, both boys and girls are found to be well aware of the assessment. They showed positive responses toward the number of assessment, fairness and accuracy of self assessment and peer assessment; toward humanistic education and academic achievement which are results of performance assessment, boys showed positive responses whereas girls showed negative ones. Fourth, the comparison of awareness of performance assessment according to school type shows that respondents from all types of boys', girls' and co-ed high schools responded positively, and especially respondents from boys' high school answered more positively. As for the reflection of students' interest on the assessment, respondents from all types of boys', girls', and co-ed high schools responded negatively, and especially respondents from co-ed high schools answered more negatively. Respondents from all types of high school, especially those from girls' high schools answered positively to the question regarding standards, function of performance assessment, appropriateness of reflection rate and the number of assessment of students' knowledge and attitude. With regard to fairness of performance assessment and accuracy of self assessment and peer assessment, respondents from both boys' and girls' high schools answered positively, especially there were more positive answers from girls' high schools. Respondents from boys' and girls' high schools answered more negatively than those from co-ed high schools to the question regarding effectiveness of group assessment in performance assessment. To the question of contribution of performance assessment to humanistic education, respondents from co-ed high schools answered more negatively than those from boys' and girls' high schools. Respondents from boys' and girls' high schools showed positive responses on the contribution of performance assessment to academic achievement, whereas respondents from coeducational high schools showed negative responses. which is statistically significant(F=3.909, p= .021). However, aftermath verification showed that only respondents from boys' and coeducational high schools showed significant difference (p= .020).

The purposes of this qualitative study was to investigate the youth soccer coaches' coaching experiences of youth soccer in Korea. All interviews were audio taped and transcribed. Transcripts were coded according to their meanings by the investigator and two professionals in qualitative research. Information from observation of the classes was also incorporated to support and interpret the interview data. Data were content-analyzed inductively and triangulated in order to maintain trustworthiness of the interpretation.Drawing on the interpretative and evaluative analyses of the data, eight major categories regarding coaching experiences were emerged and described in Chapter IV. They included (a) extra effort to become a competent youth soccer coach, (b) emphasis on students' interest and foundation skills in soccer, (c) coaching for character development, (d) trial-error and changes in their teaching strategies, (e) satisfaction and positive attitude as a coach, (f) senior coaches as target of respect as well as conflict, (g) unsatisfactory treatment as a coaching occupation, and (h) conflicts with parents. As these perceptions for the advancement of youth soccer are based on the youth coaches' experiences, they provide valuable guidelines for changes in relevant policies and rules. Taken together, the findings from this study extended our knowledge regarding youth soccer coaching which is a emerging trend in non-school youth sport. This study concluded with several suggestions for youth soccer and future research.

This study aims to discover the somatic culture of Korea through physical education, which based on human experience using the body. In other words, looking from the viewpoint of an autonomous body(MOIV^, this study aims to explain the somatic aspect underlying Korean culture that is different from the generally understood by Western culture. This study enploys the term ’DAKDAL(cultivation)/ meaning ’cultivation^ in order to explain the educational processes of the human body(physical education), which embodies the Korean somatic culture. Thus cultivation of body, the 'MOM-Cultivation/ Fortunately the meaning of MOM as used in Korea had many similarities with the Western sense of ’SOMA/ which helps making present research cross-oilturally valid. This paper includes the definition of terms MOM and SOMA, based on which the term DAKDAL, the training process used in Korean somatic culture, is elaborated. Thus the concept of ’MOM-Cultivation/ as appears in Korean somatic culture, constitutes the basis of knowledge in this research.1. The Korean understanding of 'body is synonymous to the ’subjective body or the 'body of energy/ represented by 'SOMA' in Western culture. Thus MOM refers to a unified whole, which includes the concept of both body and mind, or body and soul.2. ’DAKDAL(cultivation)’ means disciplining of the body or governing one’s mind, and refers to the process of cultivation which is emphasized in Confucianism Its initial form is a passive concept but is ultimately transformed into an active concept. The MOM-Cultivation is a corr^rehensive concept, which includes the processes of both disciplining the body and governing the mind. Therefore those who are weak in MOM(who suffer from MOM-sori or MDM-burim) and who are dishabille and dull may train themselves through MOM-Cultivatioi\ through IVDM-pulki (body relaxation) and MOM-dakki (body discipline), and revitalize and cleanse their bodies (MOM-salim) through the process of body decoration, which enables their bodies to move freely and thus ultimately leading them to nobleness and beauty.

Lately, owing to development of modern society, as living quality of people has been enhanced, interests in health improvement are being increased drastically. In accordance with these, our nation and local governments are building social physical facilities for local community residents consecutively. These most social physical facilities need sound clarity for smooth communications among athletes in playing games and simultaneously music clarity for music in rest and performances. But, in case of most social physical facilities which were established previously, due to the reasons of simplicity and economic feasibility of construction, as the facilities were finished with lightweight panels, lots of faults are being shown presently. Therefore, after physical acoustic performance was analyzed by conducting field measurement aiming at social physical facilities that were finished with lightweight panels, and based on it, this study tried to grasp acoustic problems.
