        Objectives: Although there have been several reports that described characteristics for young age stroke, information regarding very young age (18–30 years old) has been limited. We aimed to analyze demographic factors, stroke subtype, and 3-month outcome in acute ischemic stroke patient who have relatively very young age in multicenter stroke registry. Methods: We evaluated all 122 (7.1%) consecutive acute ischemic stroke (within 7 days after symptom onset) patients aged 18 to 30 from 17,144 patients who registered in multicenter prospective stroke registry, 1997 to 2012. Etiology was classified by Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment criteria. Stroke severity was defined as National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and stroke outcome was defined by modified Rankin scale (mRS) at 3 months after index stroke. Results: The mean age of all included patients was 25.1±3.7 years and 76 patients (62.2%) were male. The median NIHSS at admission was 4. Considering stroke subtype, 37 patients (30.3%) had stroke of other determined etiology (SOD), 37 (30.3%) had undetermined negative evaluation (UN) and 31 (25.4%) had cardioembolism (CE) were frequently noted. After adjusting age, sex and variables which had P<0.1 in univariable analysis (NIHSS and stroke subtype), CE stroke subtype (odds ratio, 4.68; 95% confidence interval, 1.42–15.48; P=0.011) were significantly associated with poor functional outcome (mRS≥3). Conclusion: In very young age ischemic stroke patients, SOD and UN stroke subtype were most common and CE stroke subtype was independently associated with poor discharge outcome.

        상아질에 적용된 재 습윤제가 미세인장 결합강도에 미치는 영향

        This study investigated that the effect of rewetting agent on dentinal microtensile bond strength (μTBS). Human molars were sectioned to expose the superficial dentin surfaces. Samples were divided into two groups according to type of adhesives-Single Bond (S) and One-Step (0)], and again subdivided into five groups by different dentin surface treatment-dry for 15s (D) , blot dry (BD) or dry for 15s, and rewet with different rewetting agents[distil1ed water (DW), Gluma Desensitizer (GD) and Aqua-Prep (AP)]for 30s. After application of adhesive, composite resin was built up on the bonding surface. Each tooth was sectioned to obtain stick with 1mm^(2) cross sectional area and the μTBS was determined by EZ test. In the S group, the mean μTBS of GD, AP and BD group was significantly higher than that of DW and D group (p < 0.05). In the 0 group, the mean μTBS of AP, GD, BD and DW group was significantly higher than that of D group (p < 0.05). The data suggested that Gluma Desensitizer and Aqua-Prep could be successfully used as rewetting agents, and Distilled water could be acceptable in aceton based adhesive system only.

        자가 산부식 프라이머의 적용시간이 상아질의 미세인장 결합강도에 미치는 영향

        This study evaluated the influence of application time of self-etching primers on microtensile bond strength (μTBS) to dentin using three self-etching primer adhesive systems. Dentin surfaces were exposed from forty-eight human molars. They were conditioned with three self-etching primers (Clearfil SE Bond [SE], Unifil Bond [UF], Tyrian SPE + One Step Plus [TY]) and different primining times (10s, 20s, 30s and 40s). Composite resins were bonded to dentin surfaces and specimens were made. μTBS was tested and statistically compared using by one-way ANOVA and Tukey's Test. The results of this study presented that priming time for 10s in SE and UF groups and for 30s and 40s in TY group was highly decreased μTBS to dentin.

        악관절 골연골종: 증례보고

        Osteochondroma is a benign tumor that is frequently developed in axial skeleton but rare in TMJ. 61-year old female patient visited local dental clinic with left TMJ crepitus on chewing, trismus and hearing discomforts. She was referred with a tentative diagnosis of TMD. We performed clinical and radiographic examination and could observe large radiopaque lesion at left TMJ. Excisional operation was performed. It was diagnosed finally with a osteochondroma.

      • Southern hybridization에 의한 옥수수α-amylase 遺傳子分析

        Total genomic DNA isolation from maize shoot was easier and more efficient than isolation from aleurone layers of seeds. During DNA isolation, it was possible to purify total genomic DNA mays by RNase A and phenol : chloroform extraction without repeated processes. As a result of agarose gel electrophoresis, total genomic DNA of maize was a macromolecule which had more than 23 kilo-base in comparison with the size marker, λ/Hind Ⅲ. DNA fragments digested by BamH Ⅰ, EcoR Ⅰ, and Hind Ⅲ were more than 1 kilo-base and DNA fragments digested with Sau 3A Ⅰ and Taq Ⅰ was less than 1 kilo-base in length. At the same treatment time, the reason of different moving distance of digested DNA fragments, DNA sequance sites recignized and digested with each restriction endonucleases would be specific. DNA fragments by Sau3A Ⅰ and Taq Ⅰ were more migrated than those by BamH Ⅰ, EcoR Ⅰ, and Hind Ⅲ at the same time. Enhanced chemilluminescence (ECL) gene detection system was better than then ^32P― radiolabelling method for α-amylase gene detection. Southern hyridization detection signal was similar to agaross gel electrophoretic band pattern observed. It was observed that binding was specific and α-amylase genes were present in isolate total genomic DNA of maize. Also, maize α-amylase genes might have conserved region which appeared in other cereals, and high level homology would be expected among these genes, maize, and other cereal crops. It seemed that utilization of DNA framents digested by EcoR Ⅰ, Hind Ⅲ, and Sau3A Ⅰ would be mostly efficient in α-amylase genomic DNA cloning.

      • 초등 학생들의 태권도 수련이 인성 형성에 미치는 영향

        Purpose of this study was to identify Influence of Taekwondo training to character building of pupil. To reach the purpose, 376 out of 400 pupils who participate in Taekwondo training were sampled from Susung gu area in Taegu. Questionnaire data were obtained from all subject by self-administration method. ANOVA was conducted to exam the study and SPSS/PC 10.0 program was used. Results of the analysis could be summarized as the following. First, Encouragement of parent is very affective for the Taekwondo training of pupil. Second, Character present no difference between gender. Third, 3rd grade pupils present high score in sense of stability and intellectual growth. Fourth, Length of training period affect to intellectual growth, The longer training, the higher intellectual growth. Fifth, The pupil who decided to training by himself present high score in sociality and behavior attitude. Sixth. Relation of gender, training and Characteristic present no difference in stability, intellectual growth, sociality and behavior attitude. Seventh, Relation of gender, participation inducement and Characteristic present no difference in stability, intellectual growth, sociality and behavior attitude. Eighth, In relation of gender, training intention and characteristic, Stability of the pupils who intent to training for future present high score than others. Ninth, In relation of grade, training inducement and characteristic, Stability, sociality and behavior attitude of pupils who decide to training by himself present high score than others. Tenth, In relation of grade, training intention and characteristic, stability, intellectual growth, sociality and behavior attitude of pupil who intend to participate in the future present high score than others.

        단일 단계 접착제의 변연 미세누출

        This study evaluated the marginal microleakage of five single step adhesives. Class V cavity preparations with occlusal margins in enamel and gingival margins in dentin were prepared on both buccal and lingual surfaces of extracted human molar teeth. Prepared teeth were randomly divided into five groups and restored using one of the single step adhesives and composite resins: Prompt L-Pop/Filtek Z-250 (Group 1), AQ Bond/Metafil CX (Group 2), One-Up Bond F/Palfique Toughwell (Group 3), Futurabond/Admira (Group 4), Xeno III/Spectrum TPH (Group 5). The restored teeth were thermocycled. Microleakage was assessed by dye penetration using 2% methylene blue dye solution. The teeth were bisected buccolingually and evaluated for microleakage under steromicroscope. The data were statistically analysed by Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney tests. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Microleakage of enamel margins in group 3 was statistically higher than that in groups 1, 2, 4, 5 (p < 0.05) 2. Microleakage of dentin margins in group 1 was statistically higher than that in groups 2, 5, and that in group 3 was statistically higher than that in groups 2, 4, 5 (p < 0.05). 3. Dentin marginal microleakage was higher than enamel marginal microleakage in all experimental groups. In conclusion, Prompt L-Pop showed the least leakage at enamel margin, and AQ Bond showed at dentin margin in this study. Marginal miroleakage in dentin was higher than that in enamel.

        The Influence of AH-26 and Zinc Oxide-Eugenol Root Canal Sealer on the Shear Bond Strength of Composite Resin to Dentin

        AH-26 근관실러가 상아질에 대한 복합레진의 전단결합강도에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 144개의 발거된 대구치를 실린더형의 몰드에 매식한 다음 치관부의 상아질 표면을 노출시킨 후 편평하게 연마하고 AH-26을 도포한 군, ZOE paste를 도포한 군 및 실러를 도포하지 않은 대조군으로 나누어 One-step 상아질 접착제를 처리한 후에 Charisma (Heraeus Kulzer, Germany) 복합레진을 적용하고 광중합시켰다. 시편을 분리하여 37℃ 항온조에 24시간 보관후 Instron test machine (Model 4202, Instron Corp., USA)을 이용하여 시편의 전단 결합 강도를 측정하고 one-way ANOVA 및 Tukey's studentized rank test로 통계 분석하였다. AH-26 근관실러로 처리한 군과 대조군은 ZOE 근관실러 처리군에 비해 유의하게 놓은 접착강도를 나타내었다 (p<0.05). AH-26 근관실러 처리군과 아무 처리하지 않은 대조군 사이에는 결합강도에 있어 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았다 (p>0.05). 본 연구의 조건에서는 ZOE 근관실러는 상아질에 대한 복합레진의 전단결합강도를 저하시키는 반면 AH-26 근관실러는 유의한 영향을 미치지는 않는 것으로 보인다. 따라서 임상에서 근관실러로 AH-26을 사용한 근관충전 후에는 즉시 복합레진 코어를 해 주어도 결합력에 저해가 없을 것으로 여겨진다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of the AH-26 root canal sealer on the shear bond strength of composite resin to dentin. One hundred and forty four (144) extracted, sound human molars were used. After embedding in a cylindrical mold, the occlusal part of the anatomical crown was cut away and trimmed in order to create a flat dentin surface. The teeth were randomly divided into three groups; the AH-26 sealer was applied to the AH-26 group, and zinc-oxide eugenol (ZOE) paste was applied to the ZOE group. The dentin surface of the control group did not receive any sealer. A mount jig was placed against the surface of the teeth and the One-step dentin bonding agent was applied after acid etching. Charisma composite resin was packed into the mold and light cured. After polymerization, the alignment tube and mold were removed and the specimens were placed in distilled water at 37℃ for twenty four hours. The shear bond strength was measured by an Instron testing machine. The data for each group were subjected to one-way ANOVA and Tukey's studentized rank test so as to make comparisons between the groups. The AH-26 group and the control group showed significantly higher shear bond strength than the ZOE group (p<0.05). There were no significant differences between the AH-26 group and the control one (p>0.05). Under the conditions of this study, the AH-26 root canal sealer did not seem to affect the shear bond strength of the composite resin to dentin while the ZOE sealer did. Therefore, there may be no decrease in bond strength when the composite resin core is built up immediately after a canal filling with AH-26 as a root canal sealer.

      • 골재생산과 관련한 터널작업에서 효율적인 심빼기 발파공법

        실린더 컷 심빼기 공법은 일반적으로 터널단면에 관계없이 널리 쓰이는 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 종래의 실린더 컷 공법을 개선한 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법의 특징은 발파당 굴진장을 증대시킬수 있는데 이를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 발파당 굴진장은 평균 3.8m 이상으로 종래의 심빼기 바법 경우 천공장의 90~95% 인데 비하여 제안한 방법은 천공장의 99.5%까지 가능하다. 또한 비장약량은 1.363에서 1.297 kg/㎥로 약 5%가, 비천공장은 2.393에서 2.130 kg/㎥로 약 8%가 감소되었다. 이외에 발파진동, 비산거리, 파쇄입도면에서도 종래 방법보다 양호함을 확인하였다. The cylindrical cut is most frequently used in tunnelling regardless of their dimensions. In this study the new parallel cut is proposed to raise advance per round, which is considered to be an elevation of the traditional cylinder cuts. The main results of this study are as follows; The average advances per rounds in new cuts can reach 99.5% of drilling length. That of traditional cylinder cuts are known approximately 90~95%; Specific charge weight is approximately reduced 5%(1.363→1.297 kg/㎥); Specific drilling rate is also reduced 8% compared to that of cylinder cut(2.393→2.130 kg/㎥); Vibrations, fly rock, and fragmentation produced by the new blast are to be proved superior to those of the traditional cylinder cuts.
