      • Effect of Ionizing Radiation on Rat Tissue: Proteomic and Biochemical Analysis

        <P>Reactive oxygen species (ROS), generated by ionizing radiation, has been implicated in its effect on living tissues. We confirmed the changes in the oxidative stress markers upon irradiation. We characterized the changes in the proteome profile in rat liver after administering irradiation, and the affected proteins were identified by MALDI-TOF-MS and ESI-MS/MS. The identified proteins represent diverse sets of proteins participating in the cellular metabolism. Our results demonstrated that proteomics analysis is a useful method for characterization of a global proteome change caused by ionizing radiation to unravel the molecular mechanisms involved in the cellular responses to ionizing radiation.</P>

      • 전남지역 논토양의 미생물상에 관한 연구 : 미생물 분포조사와 불완전 균류의 동정에 대하여 Distribution of the microflora and identification of the imperfect fungi

        전남지역 일원인 광주를 비롯한 8개 지역을 임의로 선정하여 1983년 10월 20일부터 11월 5일 사이에 논토양을 채취하였다. Plate dilution method로 각 지역별 작토층에 서식하고 있는 미생물 취락정도를 조사하고 사상균류만을 선정하여 불완전균류만을 분리동정하였다. monsporic culture로 얻은 순수 균주는 50균주로서 관련된 참고자료들에 의해 39균주를 동정하였으며 동정된 균주는 5속 8종이였다. 본 조사에 의해 밝혀진 미생물 분포정도와 동정된 균주 내력은 다음과 같다. 1. 전남지역 일원의 논토양에서 평균미생물 취락수는 세균이 19.5×10^6이고 방선균이 38.1×10^5이였다. 사상균은 42.5×10^3으로 나타났으며 B/F, B/A 및 A/F율은 각각 458.8, 5.1과 89.6이였다. 2. 전남지역 일원의 논토양에서 분리된 사상균 중 불완전균류 5속 8종을 동정하였으며, 동정된 균주는 다음과 같다. Trichoderma virides, Alternaria alternata, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Penicillium citrinum, Penicillium implication, Penicillium janthinellum, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus clavatus이다. This investigation was conducted to find out microflora of the paddy soil in Chunnam. Eight paddy soil samples were collected from the different sites. By the dilution plate method, a total number of microorganism was recorded at the upper layer (0∼10cm in depth). The fungi were isolated at the dilution plate from paddy soil samples of eight selected sites. They were obtained after pure cultures with a total of 50 isolated strains. Among these, 39 isolated strains (8 species in 5 genera) were identified and 11 isolated strains were unidentified. The results were summarized as follows; 1. The mean numbers of microorganisms in collected paddy soil were 19.5×10^6 in bacteria (B), 38.1×10^5 in actinomycetes (A), and 42.5×10^3 in fungi (F) per gr paddy soil. The ratios of B/F, B/A and A/F were 458.8, 5.1 and 89.6 respectively. 2. 39 isllated strains (8 species in 5 genera) of imperfect fungi were identified as follows; Trichoderma virides, Alternaria alternata, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Penicillium citrinum, Penicillium implication, Penicillium janthinellum, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus clavatus.

        안정한 지지면과 불안정한 지지면에서 팔굽혀펴기 운동시 견갑골 주위 근육의 근활성도 비교

        The couple force of the scapular stabilizers for upward rotation that include the upper and lower trapezius, serratus anterior muscles is essential to maintain the stability of shoulder joint. But if there is and imbalance of these muscles, it would occur many problems of shoulder joint. A push-up plus exercise with an unstable support is used in order to increase the muscle activity and stimulate the proprioception of shoulder joint. The purpose of this study was to compare the muscle activity of upper and lower trapezius, serratus anterior muscles and to determine which exercise is more effective when subjects perform push-up plus exercise in the stable support and unstable support. 15 healthy subjects perform push-up plus exercise in the stable support and unstable support. 15 healthy subjects and 15 painful subjects with injury of shoulder joint participated in this study. Surface electromyography data were collected during plus phase of push-up plus exercise. The types of push-up plus exercise were composed of three conditions. Stable type is subjects performed the push-up plus exercise on the fixed support and unstable type 1 is on the sling without shaking and unstable type 2 is on the sling with shaking by tester's manual. The upper and lower trapezius activities of injured group were higher than uninjured group at three measure conditions, but serratus anterior activities were not. The UT/SA ratio of injured group was higher than uninjured group at three measure conditions. The serratus anterior activities were most high at unstable 2 measure in both groups. The UT/SA ratio was most low at unstable 2 measure condition in injured group only. The present result revealed that push-up plus exercise in the unstable support with shaking which took most high serratus anterior activities and most low of UT/SA ratio is optimal cure method that can improve the imbalance of the scapular stabilizer.

      • 영산호 퇴적토에서 미생물의 분포와 환경요인과의 관계

        본 연구는 영산호 퇴적토양내에 서식하고 있는 각 미생물의 계절적 취락분포와 생리적 특성균인 단백질 분해세균, 지방분해세균 및 전분분해세균의 서식밀도를 조사하였으며 또한 퇴적토양의 이화학적 성상을 조사하여 제반환경요인과 각 미생물과의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 퇴적토양내의 이화학적 특성은 pH값이 정점 1에서 6.8~7.1로서 정점 2와 정점 3에 비해 다소높은 경향을 보였으며 유기물함량도 정점 1에서 1.37~1.83%의 수준으로 다른 정점에 비해 높은 수준이었다. 또한 퇴적토양의 함수율도 정점 1에서 40.6~50.2% 높은 값을 가졌으나 이화학적 성상이 각 정점에서 계절적차이는 인정할 수 없었다. 한편 각 정점ㅂ려 미생물상의 취락분포는 정점 1에서 가장 높은 서식밀도를 나타냈으며 일반세균이 방선균과 사상균보다 더 높은 서식밀도를 가지고 있었으며 각 미생물의 계절적 취락분포는 정점에 관계없이 여름철과 가을철에 높은 서식밀도의 변화를 나타내고 있었다. 또한 생리특성균의 취락분포는 함수량과 유기물함량이 높은 정점 1에서 계절에 관계없이 전반적으로 높은 서식밀도를 가지며 단백질분해세균이 다른 분해세균보다 높은 서식밀도를 보이고 있었다. 한편 퇴적토양내 각 미생물의 취락분포에 영향을 주는 환경요인은 pH, 산화환원전위 (Eh), 수분함량, 유기물함량 등으로 나타났다. 이들은 각 정점에서 미생물의 취락수와 높은 정. 부의 상관관계를 나타내고 있으며 또한 각 미생물간에 있어서도 산관관계는 아주 높은 정 상관관계를 가지고 있었다. Seasonal distribution of microorganism flora and physico chemical characteristics were measured in the sediments of the Youngsan lake. And interrelationship between microorganism flora and environmental factors were also studied. Annual pH ranges of the sediments were 6.8 and 7.1 in the site 1. Also, annual organic metter contents and annual moisture contents of sediments were 1.37~1.83% and 40.6~50.2% in the site 1. It was shown that environmental factor values were higehr in the site 1 than those of site 2 and site 3 But seasonal changes of physico chemical characteristics showed not in the sediments of each sites. Distribution density of microorganism flora in the site 1 showed high est values among the other sites. And general bacteria population showed higher values than those of actinomycetes and fugus in the all sites. Seasonal distributions of microorganism flora were high in the summer and autumn without regard to sites. Annual distribution of physiological bacteria have been high in the site 1, and proteolytic bacteria showed higher dencity than those of other phy siological bacteria. Populations of microorganism flora were closely correlated with such environmental factors as pH, redox potential, moisture contents and organic matter contents. And each of micoorganisms were very correlated with all microorganism flora.

      • Relevance feedback을 이용한 감성언어 기반 영상 검색

        We propose an on-line query mechanism for emotion-based similarity retrieval of images in database. It uses emotional languages for the first search. We know that it successfully catches the user's emotion. For the second search, we use relevance feedback algorithm to reflect the gap between the user's emotion and computer calculated contents. Relevance feedback successfully analyzes the data that is user's estimation of images and reduces the gap between user and computer. The features and similarity measures are adopted from MPEG-7 color descriptors which are proper retrieval of large multimedia databases. We use 286 images for experiment which are corrected from internet. The result shows that the system is successful.

        동일한 시료에 대한 국내 기관간의 STR 분석결과 비교 : STR 유전자좌 분석법의 표준화 설정을 위하여

        This paper described a collaborative exercise intended to see what kinds of short tandem repeat (STR) loci are used in different DNA typing laboratories in Korea and to compare their results for the demonstration whether uniformity of DNA profiling results from different laboratory could be achieved in Korea Laboratories were asked to test five tissue DNAs using methods routinely used in each laboratory and to report the results to the coordinating laboratory. The exercise demonstrated that each laboratory was using different STR loci for the typing with different STR numbers,2 VNTRS,36 STRs and amelogenin in total, and the direct comparison of the results from all the laboratory for the 18 loci could not be done as only one laboratory submitted typing results. Among 21 loci for which several laboratories submitted typing results, results for 14 loci were the same and results for the other 7 loci were different depending on the participating laboratory. D1S80, F13A01, D16S539, D21S11, D18S51, D3S1744 were the loci with different typing results. Even in the cases where commercial kits were used, the results were not the same depending on the machines used, that is the capillary electrophoresis or the gel based electrophoresis. The reason for the different results, points about the standardization of the methods arid the profiling data were described.

      • 블록펄스 함수를 이용한 변압기의 여자돌입검출에 관한 연구

        In the differential protection scheme for large power transformer, it must restrain the tripping on magnetizing inrush condition. The conventional methods has used harmonic restraints by digital filters that include much computational burden and require the sampling rate to be an power of 2. This paper deals with detection scheme of the magnetizing inrush for power transformer by extract wanted frequency components using one of the orthogonal function sets called Block Pulse Function. The proposed method is tested using Salford EMTP output relaying signals of the model power system. The results are compared with those of algorithm based DFT, and then its method shows good response and speed.

      • 肝吸蟲症 濃厚流行地(金海市)에 있어서의 疫學的 推移에 관한 硏究

        In order to observe the epidemiological changes of clonorchiasis in the high endemic area in Korea, the stool examinations were carried out in Bulam-dong, Kimhae City. A total of 423 stool specimens collected from the inhabitants of this area were examined both by cellophane thick smear method and Stoll’s egg dilution counting technique. The result of this survey was compared to the data obtained in 1973 by the quantitative analysis applying the regression equations, the simple and two-stage catalytic curves. The metacercarial density of Pseudorasbora parva and the tendency of familial aggregation of this area were also compared with those of 1973. In addition to this study informal interview were conducted to investigate the KAP (knowledge, attitude and practice) of the raw fish eating habit of the ingabitants in this area. The results are as follows: 1. Overall prevalence rate of clonorchiasis was reduced from 68.3% to 45.6% in a period of 10 years. 2. In 1973, both sexes in all age groups showed almost parallel high infection rates. However in 1983, the rate for males was slightly higher than that for females and a marked reduction in the prevalence was encountered in the youngest age group. 3. The mean E.P.G. count of Clonorchis sinensis infection in the surveyed area was 10,846 in 1973. But the mean E.P.G. count was decreased to 4,858 in 1983. The degree of intensity of Clonorchis sinensis infection determined by E.P.G. count was evenly distributed in geavy, very heavy, light and moderate infections in 1973 whereas an E.P.G. of over 10,000 was seen only in 14.0% of examinee in 1973. 4. The two-stage catalytic model was applied to this study and the calculation led to the equation y=1.042(e^(-0.003t)-e^(-0.074t)); a>b in 1973, and y-1.130(e^(-0.003t)-e^(-0.026t); a>b in 1983. 5. The intensity of endemicity was compared with the regression equations calculated from cumulative percentages of E.P.G. counts. The regression equations were y=2.75+1.46 log^(χ)(Cs. D_(50) 64.76) in 1973 compared to y=3.27+1.59 log^(χ)(Cs. D_(50) 12.25) in 1983. 6. In high endemic area such as Kimhae City the tendency of familial aggregation was recognized not in 1973 but in the present study. 7. Metacercarial infestation rate of P.parva did not change but metacercarial density was decreased from 1,312.4 ea/fish to 1,233.4 ea/fish in 1972 and 1973 to 160.8 ea/fish in 1983. 8. The KAP(knowledge, attitude and practice) of raw-fish eating habit of inhabitants were mentioned.

        원주지역에서 발생한 비외상성 심정지의 일주변화

        To estimate the quality of the emergency medical services system of Wonju City, we studied the diurnal variations of 179 non-traumatic cardiac arrest victims who received cardiopulmonary reuscitation at the emergency center of Wonju Christian Hospital. Diurnal variations of non-traumatic cardiac arrest patients were as follows ; The occurence of cardiac arrest at day-time was higher than night-time; 18 cases (11%) from midnight to AM 4, 25 cases (14%) from AM 4 to AM 8, 42 cases (24%) from AM 8 to AM 12, 46 cases (25%) from AM 12 to PM 4, 35 cases (19%) from PM 4 to PM 8, 13 cases (7%) from PM 8 to midnight. Witness cardiac arrest was increased more during the day than night ; 40% from midnight to AM 4, 48% from AM 4 to AM 8, 57% from AM 8 to AM 12.52% from AM 12 to PM 4, 60% from PM 4 to PM 8, 38% from PM 8 to midnight. The transportation time at night-time cardiac arrest was more longer than day-time cardiac arrest ; 30±12mins from midnight to AM 4, 26±9mins from AM 4 to AM 8, 27±12mins AM 8 to Am 12, 25±11mins from AM 12 to PM 4, 25±9mins from PM 4 to PM 8, 35±15mins from PM 8 to midnight. The rate of restoration of spontaneous circulation(ROSC) in day-time cardiac arrest was higher than the night-time cardiac arrest ; 30% from midnight to AM 4, 36% from AM 4 to AM 8, 32% AM 8 to AM 12, 44% from AM 12 to PM 4, 41% from PM 4 to PM 8, 15% from PM 8 to midnight. The survival rate of cardiac arrest has been correlated with collapse time, early bystander CPR, early advanced care. To improve outcome for prehospital cardiac arrest, we concluded that early bystander CPR, and early advanced life support should be performed at the scene and during the transportation especially at night.
