        Conceptual Study for Tissue-Regenerative Biodegradable Magnesium Implant Integrated with Nitric Oxide-Releasing Nanofi bers

        The excessive initial corrosion rate of Mg is a critical limitation in the clinical application of biodegradable Mg implantsbecause the device loses its fi xation strength before the fractured bone heals. This study suggests a new approach to overcomethis hurdle by accelerating tissue regeneration instead of delaying the implant biodegradation. As angiogenesis is anessential process in early bone regeneration, a Mg implant coated with electrospun nanofi bers containing nitric oxide (NO),which physiologically promotes angiogenesis, is designed. The integrated device enables adjustable amounts of NO to bestored on the NO donor-conjugated nanofi ber coating, stably delivered, and released to the fractured bone tissue near theimplanted sites. An in vitro corrosion test reveals no adverse eff ect of the released NO on the corrosion behavior of the Mgimplant. Simultaneously, the optimal concentration level of NO released from the implant signifi cantly enhances tube networkformation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells without any cytotoxicity problem. This indicates that angiogenesis canbe accelerated by combining NO-releasing nanofi bers with a Mg implant. With its proven feasibility, the proposed approachcould be a novel solution for the initial stability problem of biodegradable Mg implants, leading to successful bone fi xation.

      • 국내 무연탄용 순환유동층 Boiler의 Clinker생성에 관한 연구

        The analysis of anthracite coal as fired basis and clinkers located on combustor, seal pot and cyclone to find out the reason why the bed materials agglomerated and resulted in clinkers were studied. It was one of the most serious problem in early period operating the Tonghae CFBC(Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustor). The proximate analysis, heat value analysis, ash fusion temperature analysis and size distribution analysis of coal & ash were studied using TGA, Bomb Calorimeter, Ash Fusibility Determination and Sieve Shaker. The chemical compositions and microstructure of raw material and clinker located on combustor, seal pot and cyclone were investigated by the scanning electron microscope(SEM) with an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(EDS), ICP-AES, X-ray diffractometer(XRD). The domestic anthracite coal had much fine size portion which could cause after burning. Furthermore domestic coal had higher ignition temperature and lower volatile matter portion than bituminous coal, which finally ended in low combustion velocity. So it is fundamental to lengthen the furnace residence time to reach complete combustion. And it is possible to use auxiliary fuel but its dependence is low for CFBS because combustion temperature is at around 800~850℃, which range is very lower than general fine size coal combustion type. Fine size coal could do after burning, so it could cause temperature rising at combustor upper region and clinker formation by means of fouling. The short residence time of fine size coal in furnace can bring out high content of unburned carbon in fly ash, so it is necessary to reduce the fine size coal content. Assembling the result of chemical composition analysis, crystal structure analysis and EDS analysis of clinker, we could conclude that calcium in limestone and iron in bed material did the main effect in agglomeration.

      • 변형된 Radial 기반 신경회로망을 이용한 다중 물체 검출 및 세그멘테이션

        본 논문에서는 변형된 RBF 신경회로망을 이용하여 다중 물체에 대한 사전 정보 없이도 효과적으로 다중 물체를 검출 및 분리할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘에서는 대칭성을 잘 반영하는 RBF 신경회로망으로 GST(generalized symmetry transform)를 구현하기 위해 서로 대칭인 위치에 존재하는 화소들이 에지 방향성분 차이를 MRBNN의 입력으로 하고, 대칭인 화소간 거리의 함수로 가중치를 설정함으로써 대칭성이 충분히 반영될 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 입력영상에 대한 경계선 추출 영상을 피라미드 구조로 계층화 한 후, 피라미드 구조의 각 단계에 MRBNN을 적용함으로서 고정된 크기의 대칭 마스크로도 물체 검출 및 분리가 동시에 가능하도록 하였다 여러 물체가 혼재하는 실영상에 대해 실험해 본 결과 물체의 중심 추출을 통한 물체검출 및 물체 분리가 효과적으로 이루어짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

        일제강점기 초등교육의 본질 : 교육과정 요소를 중심으로 Goals and Objectives, Contents, Teaching Methods, and Evaluations

        이 연구에서는 초등교육의 본질을 탐색하기 위하여 일제강점기 초등교육에 대한 탐구를 하였다. 구체적으로 이 연구에서는 일제 강점기 교육제도, 교육목표, 교과 및 교육내용, 교육방법, 평가, 교원양성 등에 나타난 특수성을 탐구하고, 4차에 걸친 조선교육령 시기에 나타나는 규칙적인 현상을 밝혀보았다. 그리고 연구 결과는 이 연구에서 잠정적으로 전제한 공교육의 이상과 초등교육의 일반성과 관련지어 해석되었고, 이는 다시 현재 진행되고 있는 7차 초등교육과정과 관련하여 어떤 것이 지속되고, 어떤 것이 변화되었는지에 대한 논의로 전개되었다. 가능한 광범위하게 수집한 1차적 사료와 2차적 사료를 교육에 대한 관점별로 범주화하고 연구에서 다루고자 하는 요소별로 정리를 하였다. 필요한 경우, 직접 일제강점기 초등교육을 경험한 사람들을 면접하였다. 연구결과, 일제강점기 초등교육의 목표는 기형적인 "국민"을 길러내는 것이었으며, 이러한 목표를 달성하기 위한 교육내용, 교육방법, 교육평가는 기능적 측면에서 "잘", 효율적으로 기능할 수 있도륵 일관성을 유지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 교육적일 수 없는 모순을 내재한 것이 된다. 따라서 일제강점기 초등교육에서 초등교육의 본질을 찾기가 어렵다는 결론을 내릴 수 있다. This research aims to seek the real nature of elementary education by investigating the system in Korea under the rule of Japanese imperialism (1909-1945). Special characteristics are identified in their goals and objectives, contents, teaching methods, and evaluations in elementary education system during the period. Futhermore, some regular phenomena are traced out during the four-time amendments of education rules in the law. Firstly, the results of this study are described in the viewpoint of the ideals in public education, which are tentatively proposed by our authors. Secondly, they are compared and contrasted to the 7th Amended National Curriculum of Korea in terms of the perspectives of curriculum. Some parts in the research are supported by the interviewees who had experienced in the elementary education during the imperialistic period. The result suggests that the system in the colonized period was conducted to cultivate the students who were inappropriate in compared with our ideals in the education. For the goals, the elements of the system in the above were consistently maintained and functionally well-carried out. Therefore, the system was not evaluated as educative intrinsically. Henceforth, the real nature of elementry education would not be drawn in the system during the rule in conclusion.

      • 한국 대도시 고령자의 체격, 체력 및 운동실태와 운동 프로그램개발에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the patterns of the health related variables, and physical characteristics and physical fitness of the elderly people in order to provide a exercise program. The data about the health related variables were collected through the personal interview, and the data about physical charateristics and physical fitness (height, weight, % body fat, blood pressure, pulse rate, grip stength, trunk flexion, side step test, 2 min, harvard step test) of 373 elderly people living Seoul and kyungkee area were collected. The conclusions of this study can be summarized as follow; 1. The test results about smoking, drinking, sleeping and self-evaluation of health revealed that the elderly people have self-confidence about their health. 2. Not many elderly people participate the proper exercise program even though they recognize the need of exercise. 3. The results showed that the elderly people do not pay much attention to the intensity of the exercise. 4. Muscle strength training for leg and the lower back and cardio-vascular endurance training was recommended to reduce the risk of varius problems caused by aging. 5. A exercise program was suggested for the elderly people.

      • 老巨樹 管理實態에 關한 硏究

        The big trees have been keeping the relation to human's living way in various aspects, environment protection, emotion creation and tree worshiping through which they believed to be safe, happy and prosperous, and also giving more recreational opportunity to provincial particularly. This study was carried out to analyse the status of designation and management of big tree in Iri-Iksan province, Chollabuk-Do. The result are summarized as follows. 1. It was appeared that at present Big trees in the investigated area were 78 location (7 families, 9 genera, 11 species) that was identified. Among them the species appearing most frequently were Zelkova serrata(25), Salix glandulosa (20), Gingko biloba(15) and Celtis japonica(8) in that order. The order hand, designation grade of big tree classified into six categories, that is 1 botanic natural monument, 5 Si-Kun tree, 3 Eup-Myon tree, 1 maeul tree, 53 Restraint tree ad 15 Non-Designation tree. 2. In designation of nurse tree, there are key needs that are professionals in field survey. We suggested the futher designation plan stressed the importance of the value of big tree. 3. Government have to increase of the forestry staff who take sole charge of the protection of big tree, and must reach managers the technique for effective management of big tree. 4. We have to make an budget of big tree management, establish a protective facilities, control of insets and disease on time, and treat and operate on the injured big tree. Thus government should be positively concerned, and more research would need to understand the critical factors affecting the big tree.

        의미 치매 1예 : 신경심리 및 뇌영상 검사의 연속적인 추적 관찰 소견 Serial Follow-up Study of Neuropsychological and Neuroimaging Findings

        Semantic dementia (SD) is a very rare, distinct form of dementia which is characterized by impairment of naming and comprehension, prosopagnosia, visual agnosia for objects and relative preservation of other aspects of cognition, such as episodic memory, nonverbal problem-solving and visuospatial functions. A 68-year-old man visited our clinic for progressive speech disturbance since 1997. His main speech problems were word finding difficulty and loss of word meaning for objects. Language assessment demonstrated profound semantic memory loss for words with preserved fluency, corresponding to anomic aphasia. There were marked impairments in verbal and visual memory functions and word fluency tasks, but no grammatical or phonologic errors in speech. Also were remarkable anosognosia and object visual agnosia with preserved visuospatial function and calculation in neuropsychological tests. Serial follow-up study of language test showed more deterioration in comprehension and repetition, consistent with Wernicke's aphasia. Initial brain MR imaging and brain perfusion SPECT showed prominent focal atrophy in the left temporal lobe, and marked hypoperfusion in the left temporal and both frontal areas. Follow-up brain MR imaging and perfusion SPECT revealed more atrophy in both temporal lobes and showed more extensive hypoperfusion areas compared to the previous study.

      • 누구를 위한 POCT인가?

        Patient-oriented minds and Bill of Rights have brought a lot of POCTs or Waived Tests, which can obviously be threats to the medical technology profession. However, we cannot help but admit the realities and should take some necessary measures to meet the situation. Accordingly we took a survey to find what opinions medical scientists or nurses have against the POCTs. Most of the scientists worried about the reliabilites of test results while nurses were concerned about the ambiguity of their job entities. Taking account of the POCT nature, the scientists should lead the development of POCT menus and have the primanry responsibility to educate or train the POCT perfomers maitaining periodic QCs on all the procedures or equimpments, not paying much attention to the issues who might be the performers.

        초등학교 과학 수업에서 개념도 활용의 효과

        In this study, we investigated the effects of using concept mapping as an instructional tool on 4th graders' achievement, science learning motivation, and attitude toward science classes. T재 classes (38 students) from an elementary school were respectively assigned to a control group and a treatment group. Students were taught about "expansion of matter by heat" and "heat transfer". These topics were chosen because they require students to understand more concepts as well as relationships among them. A science learning motivation test and an attitude toward science classes test were administered as pretests. A researcher-made achievement test, the science learning motivation test, and the attitude toward science classes test were administered as posttests. The results indicated that using concept mapping in 4th-grade science classes was not significantly effective in improving students' achievement though a statistically significant positive effect was found in the subcategory of knowledge. No statistically significant effect of using concept mapping was found in the scores of the science learning motivation test and the attitude toward science classes test. Educational implications are discussed.

      • 체중감량이 유도선수의 Renin, 면역기능 및 유·무산소 운동능력에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of short terms weight reduction period on body composition and body fluid. Seven Judo athletes (21±1.21 yrs) were matched and randomly placed. Body weight reduction period consists of 7 day. Each groups reduced body weight by 3%(2th day from pre weight reduction), 5%(4th day from pre weight reduction, 7%(7th day) and investigated the recovery period on 3 hour after breakfast, lunch, and 1day, 2day after 7% body reduction. Weight reduction reduced weight during weight reduction period then returned to baseline during recovery(p<.05) and decreased LBM, electrolyte, and immune function and then increased in recovery period to baseline. In conclusion, weight reduction of Judo athletes caused the change biological variable and performance and STWR may detrimental effects body' homeostasis.
