      • 혈중납이 흰쥐의 Microsomal Cytochrome P-450 Monooxygenase 활성도에 미치는 영향

        In rats treated with lead nitrate and/or red ginseng extract mixture we observed a change in the level of hepatic cytochrome P-450 and electron transport system for P-450 dependent reaction, and content of Zincprotoporphyrin(ZPP) and Hemoglobin(Hb) in whole blood. The content of cytochrome P-450 and ?? , and the activity of ECHEase, AHHase and NADPH-cytochrome C(p-450) reductase were slowly decreased according to the dosage of lead nitrate. On the other hand, the activity of ?? reductase was increased according to the dosage of lead nitrate, but in case of treatment with red ginseng mixture, this enzyme activity was slightly decreased. In whole blood, the content of hemoglobin and ZPP were not shown any critival change but lead content increased according to dosage of lead nitrate. These results suggest that content and activity of cytochrome P-450-dependent monoxygenase may be dependent on specificity of substrates, and the acute exposure of lead nitrate and red ginseng extract mixture was not affected any biological significance.

        Brugada syndrome is characterized by right bundle branch block morphology and ST segment elevation in the right precordial leads and a propensity to develop ventricular arrhythmias. Mutations in a cardiac sodium channel gene have been linked to this syndrome, and the ionic mechanisms responsible for the electrocardiographic phenotype are temperature-dependent. This case report describes a patient in whom a typical Brugada ECG pattern developed during fever and returned normal ECG after fever was subsided.

        酒精 禁斷과 마그네슘 注射

        The subjects were forty-two alcoholics, who were admitted in the Dept. of Neuropsyciatry of Maryknoll General Hospital from Sept.-1-1977 to Dec.-31-1984. Since 1981, the authors of this abstract have treated the alcoholics with the intramuscular magnesium injections(50% MgSO₄with 2% Lidocaine 0.2cc) every 8hrs. for the first day during the acute withrawal days. We were interested in how much the magnesium injections were effective for the alcoholics; therefore we studied the good effects of the magnesium injection and the correlation of it's serum level. The alcoholics were divided into two groups: 18 patients in the magnesium non-injected group, 24 patients in the magnesium injected group and the alcohol free group for the control. The serum magnesium levels were checked before the injection in all cases and compared among the following classified group: alcoholics with Delirium Tremens(DT), alcoholics without Delirium Tremens(non-DT) and the alcohol free control group. The serum magnesium mean levels were 2.045±0.366㎎/㎗(DT), 2.371±0.404㎎/㎗(non-DT) and 2.118±0.042㎎/㎗(control). These mean levels were all within normal limits. Especially, the level of DT was the lowest, which suggested that most of the alcoholics were admitted a few days after withdrawal. Meanwhile, until admission, the immediately dropped serum magnesium recovered spontaneously hour by hour but not sufficiently up to the level of the control group on admission. There were no significant different features of symptoms on admission between the injected and non-injected group. But the injected group recovered more rapidly from hallucination(P<.02) and profound confusion, disorientation and delusion(P<.05). And also the severity of Delirium Tremens of the injected group was much less than the non-injected group(P<.02). Through these experiences and the results, the authors stress the importance of magnesium injections for the treatment of alcoholics.

        원주지역에서 발생한 비외상성 심정지의 일주변화

        To estimate the quality of the emergency medical services system of Wonju City, we studied the diurnal variations of 179 non-traumatic cardiac arrest victims who received cardiopulmonary reuscitation at the emergency center of Wonju Christian Hospital. Diurnal variations of non-traumatic cardiac arrest patients were as follows ; The occurence of cardiac arrest at day-time was higher than night-time; 18 cases (11%) from midnight to AM 4, 25 cases (14%) from AM 4 to AM 8, 42 cases (24%) from AM 8 to AM 12, 46 cases (25%) from AM 12 to PM 4, 35 cases (19%) from PM 4 to PM 8, 13 cases (7%) from PM 8 to midnight. Witness cardiac arrest was increased more during the day than night ; 40% from midnight to AM 4, 48% from AM 4 to AM 8, 57% from AM 8 to AM 12.52% from AM 12 to PM 4, 60% from PM 4 to PM 8, 38% from PM 8 to midnight. The transportation time at night-time cardiac arrest was more longer than day-time cardiac arrest ; 30±12mins from midnight to AM 4, 26±9mins from AM 4 to AM 8, 27±12mins AM 8 to Am 12, 25±11mins from AM 12 to PM 4, 25±9mins from PM 4 to PM 8, 35±15mins from PM 8 to midnight. The rate of restoration of spontaneous circulation(ROSC) in day-time cardiac arrest was higher than the night-time cardiac arrest ; 30% from midnight to AM 4, 36% from AM 4 to AM 8, 32% AM 8 to AM 12, 44% from AM 12 to PM 4, 41% from PM 4 to PM 8, 15% from PM 8 to midnight. The survival rate of cardiac arrest has been correlated with collapse time, early bystander CPR, early advanced care. To improve outcome for prehospital cardiac arrest, we concluded that early bystander CPR, and early advanced life support should be performed at the scene and during the transportation especially at night.

        유동층 생물반응기의 구조변화에 따른 하수처리

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the biofilm reactors capable of doing high efficiency treatment. Vertical fluidized bed biofilm reactor(VFBBR) and spiral fluidized bed biofilm reactor(SFBBR) was used for their performence in biodegradation of artificial sewage. The factors influencing the efficiency of those reactors were compared with difference of physical condition. They had same size but different structure to gain access of its unique characteristics. When recycle solution with flow rate of 22 mL/min and artificial sewage with flow rate of 2-10 mL/min were fed into two reactors in aerobic state, the average COD, removal rate for biodegradation of SFBBR was greater than VFBBR. After reactor feed sewage was constantly maintained as flow rate of 4 rnL/min and the recycle solution were changed to 10-32 mL/min respectively, the average COD,, removal rate of artificial sewage in SFBBR was greater than VFBBR. In this experiment for addition of support media into two reactors SFBBR was 4.1% excellent than VFBBR. Above all, SFBBR excelled VWBR in boidegradation of organic matter in sewage.

      • 인공 고관절 전치환술시 미세포말형 비구컵의 초기 안정성에 관한 생역학적 연구

        The initial postoperative stability and intimate contact between the acetabular component with surrounding bone are essential for the bone ingrowth into porous-coated acetabular component. To achieve these goals in cementless acetabular component, press-fit of the acetabular component with or without adjuvant screw fixation is generally recommended. Many different models of acetabular components have been developed to achieve more bone ingrowth but they have been used without proven definite superiority over the others and different opinions exist in the advantage of adjuvant screw fixation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the gaps of bone-acetabular component interface, the initial mechanical stability and the effects of adjuvant screw fixation in the press-fitted two different shaped porous-coated acetabular components. Two different shaped cups: semi-hemispherical Harris-Galante Ⅱ cup and full hemispherical Trilogy cup, were press-fitted under 2mm under-reaming with or without adjuvant screw fixation in 40 bovine femur trabecular bone blocks. The implanted 40 specimens were divided into four groups with equal numbers of specimen. Harris-Galante Ⅱ cup was press-fitted in group 1. Harris-Galante Ⅱ cup was press-fitted with three adjuvant screws fixation in group 2, Trilogy cup was press-fitted in group 3 and Trilogy cup was press-fitted with three adjuvant screws fixation in group 4. In each radiography of all prepared specimen, the gaps of bone-implant interface were measured at polar portion, polar 1/3, middle 1/3 and peripheral 1/3. Implanted bone blocks were embedded in steel box and axial compression tests were per formed under 300kg load using servohydraulic tension-compression machine(Instron®-1331, Canton, Massachusetts, USA). The micromotions were determined in 5 specimens of each group using strain gauge transducer. Rotational stability tests were performed by determining the yield strengths in 5 specimens of each group. The results obtained were as follows; 1. Most of specimens had some visible gap at polar portion, polar 1/3 and middle 1/3 except peripheral 1/3, but there was significantly smaller gap at polar 1/3 region in the specimen implanted with Trilogy cup(p<0.05). The adjuvant screw fixation did not affect the amount of gap. 2. In the axial load test, the mean micromotion under 300kg axial load was 110.6±22.6㎛(range: 84.5㎛~136.0㎛) in group 1, 76.1±10㎛(range: 65.5㎛~91.5㎛) in group 2, 75.8±24.3㎛(range: 59.5㎛~118㎛) in group 3 and 95.5±26.4㎛(range: 74.0㎛~138.0㎛) in group 4 but there was no statistical difference in each group. 3. In the rotation test, the mean yield strength was 59.4F±22.3N.m(range: 37.2N.m~86.4N.m) in group 1, 62.6±15.7N.m(range: 42.3N.m~82.0N.m) in group 2, 41.8±14.0N.m(range: 23.7N.m~60.9N.m) in group 3 and 61.7±18.9N.m(range: 43.6N.m~90.2N.m) in group 4 but there was no statistical difference in each group. This study demonstrates that the initial mechanical stability is not influenced by the shape of semi-hemispherical Harris-Galante Ⅱ cup and full hemispherical Trilogy cup and also independent of adjuvant screw fixation. But smaller gap of Trilogy cup at the polar 1/3 region indicates the possibility that less amout of wear debris of polyethylene or metal will be deposited and therefore less osteolysis or cup loosening will occur, but this hypothesis should be confirmed by the long-term clinical follow-up.

        전기장 인가에 따른 DNA 신장에 관한 AFM 연구

        본 연구에서는 마이카 표면상에서 전기장에 의한 극히 낮은 농도의 DNA 신장에 대한 효율적인 방법론을 제시하였다. 전기장에 의한 DNA 신장을 AFM형상으로 분석한 결과, DNA 농도범위가 약 57×10 exp(-3)ng/mL-57×10 exp(-6)ng/mL일 때 매우 잘 적용되며, 신장된 DNA는 두 전극 중앙에 존재하였다. 또한, 일반 마이카, Mg^2+ 처리된 마이카, 그리고 AP-마이카 표면들에 대한 신장 효율의 차를 기술하였다. 동일한 실험조건 하에서 AP-마이카의 표면이 가장 좋은 효율의 DNA 신장 결과를 나타내었다. An effective method of DNA stretching using electric field on mica surface was proposed for extremely low solution concentration of DNA. DNA stretching based on electric field was observed by AFM and well applied on the concentration range from 57×10 exp(-3)ng/mL to 57×10 exp(-6)ng/mL. Stretched DNA existed in the middle of two electrodes. The difference in stretching efficiency for the different surfaces of bare mica, Mg^2+ soaked mica and AP-mica was discussed. The best performance of stretching was found from the surface of AP-mica under the same experimental condition.

      • 무지개 松魚의 遺傳 育種學的 硏究 : Ⅳ.血淸成分 水準의 年中 變化 Ⅳ.Annual Changes of Serum Components Levels

        본 연구는 무지개 松魚 암컷 3년생 120마리에 대하여 1989년 3월부터 1990년 2월까지 계절 및 人工産卵前後에 따른 血淸成分 含量 水準을 측정하였고, 각 血淸 成分間의 상관관계를 조사하였다. 장차 무지개 松魚의 繁殖效率 增進에 필요한 遺傳育種學的 基礎 資料를 얻기 위하여 실시되었다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 血淸中 albumin, calcium, glucose, total protein, alkalin phosphatase, SGOT 및 phosphorus의 함량은 産卵期中에 높은 수준이었으나, cholesterol, creatinine 및 triglycerides의 含量은 卵黃形成期中에 비교적 높은 수준을 유지 하였다. 2) 人工産卵展, 産卵後 및 過熟時期에 따른 血淸中 albumin, calcium, cholesterol, creatinine, total protein, triglycerides, alkaline phosphatase 및 phosphorus의 含量은 人工産卵前에 비교적 높은 수준을 유지한 반면에, BUN, glucose, SGOT 및 SGPT의 含量은 過熟時期에 높은 수준이었다. 그리고 A/G 比率은 非産卵期인 6월, 7월 및 8월에 最高水準을 유지하다가 産卵時期直前부터 감소하여 산란시기 동안에 낮은 수준으로 계속 유지되었다. 3) 産卵期中 albumin수준과 calcium(r=-0.793)간에는 부(-)의 상관이었으나, 그 밖의 다른 성분간에는 有意性이 인정되는 정(+)의 상관이 존재하였다. BUN 含量水準과 alkaline phosphatase(r=0.790), SGOT(r=0.881) 및 SGPT(r=0.902)와는 正(+)의 高度相關이 존재하였다. Glucose수준과 모든 다른 성분간에는 負(-)의 相關關係였으마, cholesterol수준과 그 밖의 다른 성분간에는 正(+)의 相關이 존재하였다. Glucose수준과 total protein(r=0.856), triglycerides(r=0.973), alkaline phosphatase(r=0.738), SGOT(r=0.711) 및 SGPT(r=0.738), 및 SGPT(r=0.657)間에는 正(+)의 高度相關을 보였으며, creatinine 수준과 total protein(r=0.672)에도 正(+)의 상관관계가 존재하였다. Total protein과 triglycerides(r=0.911)와는 正(+)의 高度相關이었으며, alkaline phosphatase 水準과 SGOT(r=0.936) 및 SGPT(r=0.926)間은 正(+)의 高度相關關係가 있다. 또한 SGOT와 SGPT(r=0.995)와는 매우 높은 정(+)의 상관관계가 존재하였다. 4) 産卵期中 호르몬과 血淸成分間의 상관관계에 있어서 血淸中 LH 濃度와 BUN(r=0.747)과는 유의한 負(-)의 相關이었으나, creatinine(r=0.887) 및 total protein(r=0.688)과는 正(+)의 高度相關이 존재하였다. FSH濃度와 creatinine(r=0.831) 및 total protein(r=0.709)간에는 正(+)의 상관관계가 있었다. Estradion-17β와 creatinine(r=0.899), total protein(r=0.899), total protein(r=0.859) 및 trigpycerides(r=0.673)간에 비교적 높은 正(+)의 상관이었으나, progesterone 濃度과 BUN(r=-0.606)간에는 負(-)의 상관관계가 존재하였다. This study was carried out to investigate serum components levels(12 components) obtained from 120 of 3-year-old female rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss). All data were collected and analysed monthly from March in 1989 to February in 1990. Serum protein components were assayed by blood analyzer. The results obtained in this study were as follows; 1. The contents of serum albumin ,calcium, glucose, total protein, alkalkine phosphatase, SGOT, and phosphorus increased during spawning period, but those of serum cholesterol, creatinine, and triglycerides maintained relatively high levels during vitellogenetic period. 2. The contents of serum albumin, calcium, cholesterol, creatinine, total protein, triglycerides, alkaline phosphatase and phosphorus prior to handstripping were relatively high, while those of serum BUN, glucose, SGOT and SGPT were high in over-ripe stage. 3. The correlation between serum albumin and calcium during correlations of albumin and other contents were significantly positive. Those of serum BUN with alkaline phosphatase(r=0.790), SGOT(r=0.881) and SGPT(r=0.902) were highly positive. The content of calcium was highly correlated with various serum contents, and that of cholesterol was a signigicantly correlated with other serum contents. The correlations of serum glucose with total protein(r=0.856), triglycerides(r=0.973), alkaline phosphatase(r=0.738), SGOT(r=0.711) and SGPT(r=0.657) were significantly high. The correlation coefficients between creatinine and total protein, between total protein and triglycerides, and between SGOT and SGPT were significantly high. In addition, those of serum alkaline phosphatase with SGOT and SGPT were also significantly high. 4. The correlation of serum LH with BUN during spawning period was highly negative(r=-0.793), while the correlations of LH with creatinie and total protein were high(r=0.887 and 0.688, respectively). Similarly, the relationships of serum FSH with creatinine(r=0.831) and total protein(r=0.709) were significantly highly positive. The concentration of estradiol-17βwas highly correlated with creatinie, total protein, and triglycerides. But the relation of serum progesterone with BUM was significantly negative(r=-0.606).
