This paper presents a power management strategy to minimize the fuel consumption of a heavy-duty series hybrid electric vehicle. Thevehicle model, which consists of a CNG engine, a generator, two driving motors and a battery, is developed and validated with experimentaldata. Dynamic programming (DP) is applied to design a control algorithm optimizing fuel consumption of the series hybrid electricvehicle. By imitating the behavior of the DP control signal, a rule-based control algorithm is proposed. The controller actuates theCNG engine, generator, and battery to minimize fuel consumption and maintain the battery state of charge within a proper region. Simulationstudies and experiments are conducted for typical driving modes to investigate the performance of the proposed power managementstrategy. Results indicate that fuel economy can be enhanced by approximately 30% using the proposed power management strategyto the series hybrid electric vehicle over the conventional vehicle.

Background:Bone marrow transplantation (BMT) is a beneficial and curative technique used in different hematologic conditions or malignant neoplastic diseases. However, bone marrow transplant patients are at a higher risk of developing infections and complications due to previous chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunosuppression, antibiotics therapy, multiple viral infections, and GVHD (graft-versus-host disease). Objectives:The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence and clinical data of rhinosinusitis among patients with BMT. We also investigated whether pre-BMT positive radiologic finding could predispose patients to the development of post-BMT rhinosinusitis or not. Materials and Methods:We reviewed the records of 203 patients who had received BMT in Kyungpook National University’s hospital from September 1998 to August 2006. Result:Sixteen patients (7.8%) had radiologic positive finding before BMT. Fifteen patients had no sinonasal symptoms and did not get any treatment. Only one patient had rhinosinusitis so that BMT was delayed and treated with antibiotics. Among these patients, one patient got newly developed rhinosinusitis after BMT. After BMT, sinusitis developed in ten patients (4.9%), including one patient who had invasive fungal sinusitis. Our study revealed a higher incidence of rhinosinusitis among allogenic BMT patients than among autologous BMT patients. The most common symptoms and signs were fever. Only one patient complained of typical sinonasal symptoms. Conclusion:Even though the prevalence of rhinosinusitis is low (4.9%) among post-BMT patients, maintenance of a high index of suspicion among these patients is necessary because sinonasal symptoms and signs are generally minimized after BMT. The study concluded that pre-BMT positive radiologic findings without sinonasal symptoms is unlikely to develop post-BMT rhinosinusitis. The development of information and communication technology (ICT) is accelerating innovation in the traditional manufacturing sector. The smart factory which is a state-of-the-art factory collects data in real time through various sensors. Recently, researches on applying the artificial intelligence technology to these collected data to detect machine failures has gained a lot of attention. In this study, we built a test bench to check the possibility of applying the artificial intelligence technology for the fault diagnosis of the spindle of machine tools. We collected failure data by changing the off-center of the spindle using bolts. Further, we used artificial intelligence models (CNN, LSTM, and auto-encoder) to analyze the accuracy of seven types of fault classifications. In addition, the method of data collection, data process, and model development is proposed to effectively apply the artificial intelligence technology to machine tool domains. 정보통신기술(ICT)의 발전은 전통적인 제조 분야의 혁신을 가속화시키고 있고, 스마트팩토리로 불리우는 최첨단 공장에서는 각종 센서를 통해 실시간으로 데이터를 수집하고 있다. 이러한 수집된 데이터에 인공지능 기술을 적용하여 기계 고장 상황에 빠르게 대처하는 연구가 최근 들어 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공작기계 스핀들의 고장 진단을 목적으로 인공지능 기술의 적용 가능성을 확인하기 위해 테스트벤치를 구축한 후 볼트를 이용하여 인위적으로 스핀들의 편심을 변화시킨 고장 데이터를 수집하였고, 분류(classification) 문제에 주로 사용되는 인공지능 모델 3종(CNN, LSTM, auto-encoder)을 학습하여 스핀들의 7가지 상태를 분류하는 정확도를 비교 분석하였다. 또한, 공작기계 도메인에 인공지능 기술을 효과적으로 적용하기 위해 필요한 데이터 수집 및 처리방법과 모델 개발 방법을 제안한다.

Two novel phosphorescent heteroleptic cationic Ir(III) complexes, Ir(bt)2(dmpe) (Ir1) and Ir (bt)2(dppe) (Ir2), where bt is 2-phenylbenzothiazole, dmpe is 1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane, and dppe is 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino) ethane, were designed and synthesized. Their photophysical and electrochemical properties and the X-ray structure of the Ir1 complex were investigated. The prepared Ir(III) complexes exhibited blue-green emissions at 503-538 nm with vibronic fine structures in dichloromethane solution and PMMA film, implying that the lowest excited states are dominated by ligand-based 3π-π* transitions. The π-acceptor ability of the diphosphine ancillary ligand leads to blue-shift emission. The room temperature photoluminescent quantum yields (PLQYs) of Ir1 and Ir2 were 52% and 45%, respectively, in dichloromethane solution. These high PLQYs resulted from steric hindrances by the bulky cationic iridium complexes. The crystal structure of Ir1 was determined by X-ray crystallography, which revealed that central iridium adopted a distorted octahedral structure coordinated with two bt ligands (N^C) and one dmpe ligand (P^P) showing cis C-C and trans N-N dispositions. The bent nature of the dmpe ligand resulted in a relatively wide bite angle of 83.83o of P-Ir-P.

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma(MFH) was first introduced referring to a group of soft tissue tumors characterized by a storiform or cartwheel-like growth pattern. MFH is an aggressive soft-tissue sarcoma that most commonly occurs in the skeletal muscle of the extremities or retroperitoneum of adults. We report 2 cases of MFH occurring in 59-year-old man and 57-year-old woman. In the first case, the tumor occurred in right upper arm and has been removed totally. It was consisted of storiform, pleomorphic and myxoid area. In the second case, a painful nodule developed in right shin where the tumor had been excised I year ago. A biopsy revealed plump spindle cells appearing in a storiform-pleomorphic pattern.
