Purpose: To evaluate the release behavior of dexamethasone embedded in a polycarbonate polyurethane membrane. Materials and Methods: Both water-soluble and water-insoluble dexamethasone were tested, and the release behavior of five water-insoluble dexamethasone films of different thickness (78 to 211 ${\mu}$m) was also evaluated. The amount of Dexamethasone used was 10% of the total weight of the polyurethane film mass. Each film was placed in a centrifuge tube containing 25 ml of 0.1-M neutral phosphate buffer, and the tubes were placed in a shaking incubator to quantify the amount of drug released into the buffer, absorption spectroscopy (λmax=242 nm) was employed. Results: In the test involving water-soluble dexamethasone, 60% of the drug was released during the first two hours of the study. Films containing water-insoluble Dexamethasone, on the other hand, released 40%, 60% and 75% of the dexamethasone in one, three and seven days, respectively. Both types of film maintained low-dose drug release for 28 days. When release behavior was compared between water-insoluble films of different thickness, thicker film showed less initial burst and more sustained release. Conclusion: Dexamethasone release behavior varies according to drug solubility and membrane thickness, and may thus be conrolled.

Polyurethane (PU) films incorporated with an anti-cancer drug paclitaxel (PTX) were prepared using a solvent casting method for potential applications to stent-based drug delivery and the local treatment of malignant tumors around gastrointestinal stents. The films were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and PTX micro-aggregates were observed when the drug loading was > 2.7 wt%. The in vitro release study revealed that the amount of drug released from the film was virtually independent and cumulative percentage release was inversely proportional to the drug loading. When plotted against the square root of time, the cumulative percentage release was initially linear, but the fraction of the linear region decreased with increasing drug loading, indicating that diffusion-controlled release is not applicable to the PTX molecules in micro-aggregates. When 1.25% PTX-PU films were placed under pre-existing CT-26 tumors in mice, tumor growth was slowed by an average of 65.5% compared to that in the control group.

The resident survey and economic analysis on the effect of the Lotte-World at Nampo-Dong is intended for accumulating the data for the development of Youngdo-Gu. The residents think that the Lotte-World at Nampo-dong will have a great influence on the social behaviour, economy, culture, tourism, employment etc. of Youngdo-Gu. Taking advantage of the construction of the Lotte-World, restructuring of land space, maintenance of traffic systems, construction of urban inhabitant facilities will be carried forward in Youngdo-Gu. The economic effect of the Lotte-World does not seem to be large on the basis of the present industrial structure and urban infra of Youngdo-Gu. The participation of the construction corporation of Youngdo-Gu in the construction period of the Lotte-World seems to be small. But workers from Youngdo-Gu at the construction site will be able to earn their wages. After construction, the consumption of the average employee and his family at the Lotte-World will have a considerable influence on the economy of Youndo-Gu. The sales of commodities produced by the company of Youngdo-Gu will be a trifling and it will not influence the economy of Youngdo- Gu. The sightseeing expenditure to Youngdo of the visitor at the Lotte-World will be significant, and the development of marine sightseeing resources and the construction of infra will make this possible. To maximize the effect of the Lotte-World, various regional development projects such as the creation of a urban business district, preparation of a marine sightseeing complex, development of a service industry, development of a high value-added urban marine industry and the creation of a high-level marine resident complex must be pushed forward during the construction of the Lotte-World.

Purpose: To assess the performance of contrast-enhanced three-dimensional(3-D) magnetic resonance venography(MRV) of the pelvis and lower extremities in patients with varicose veins. Materials and Methods: Ascending and MR venography were performed in seven legs of seven patients, and duplex Doppler sonography and MR venography in 15 legs of 12 patients, all referred for evaluation of varicose veins. For analysis, the venous system as revealed by ascending and MR venographic images was divided into 13 segments. For detection of reflux to the great saphenous vein, duplex Doppler sonography and MRV were performed. Results: In ascending venography and MRV, 91 venous segments were potentially visible; both modalities depicted 78 of these, but failed to detect four. Ascending venography and MRV detected 17 and 19 varices, respectively. When two tourniquets were placed around the ankle and knee using the Valsalva maneuver, MRV and duplex Doppler sonography detected reflux in 8 of 11 and 13 of 15 legs, respectively. Conclusion: Contrast-enhanced 3-D MRV comprehensively displays the venous system of the lower extremities and permits assessment of varicose veins. MRV using the Valsalva maneuver allows assessment of reflux to the great saphenous vein.

Social problems have been added to the rapid urbanization of the world's population growth. As an alternative to this, smart cities that combine ICT technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution are being activated. The purpose of this study is to compare the smart city strategies and examples of Europe and Korea, solve various urban and social problems caused by rapid urbanization, and derive implications for the introduction of smart cities in Korea. To this end, the literature research method for collecting, analyzing, and comparing existing related policies and case literature was utilized as the main research method. In addition, he participated in the smart city country R&D project and applied some of the research content to this study to derive suggestions. Through this, they reviewed existing national smart city and living lab plans and planned to revitalize the business model promoted by the national R&D project, and tried to present a method for living lab necessary for smart housing complex planning. In conclusion, it is expected that it can be used as a policy formulation data for national policy projects that can derive the housing and environment citizens need from social problems caused by urbanization. 세계 급속한 인구 증가의 도시화에 사회 문제가 추가되었다. 이에 대한 대안으로 4차 산업혁명 ICT 기술이 접목된 스마트시티가 활성화되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 유럽과 한국의 스마트시티 전략과 사례를 비교하여 급속한 도시화로 인한 다양한 도시·사회 문제를 해결하고 국내 스마트시티 도입에 시사점을 도출하는데 있다. 이를 위해 기존의 관련 정책과 사례 문헌을 수집·분석·비교하는 문헌 연구 방법을 주요 연구 방법으로 활용하였다. 또 스마트시티 국가 R&D 사업에 참여하고 연구 내용 일부를 본 연구에 적용해 시사점을 도출했다. 이를 통해 기존 국가 스마트시티와 리빙랩 계획을 검토하고 국가 R&D 사업이 추진하는 비즈니스 모델 활성화를 계획함으로써 스마트 주거단지계획시 필요한 리빙랩에 대한 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 결론적으로 도시화로 인한 사회적 문제에서 시민들이 필요로하는 주거 및 환경을 도출할 수 있는 국가 정책 사업의 정책 수립 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
