      • The Comparisional Analysis of Colostrum Protein between the First and Third Days after Calving using Proteomic Analysis

        The colostrum proteins are an important energy source for newborns and improves their innate immune system. Recently, there are many interest about beneficial factors in colostrum to health and many products using colostrum are attentive into dietary supplements in global industry. The aim of this study was to compare the enriched proteins between the colostrum from the first and the third day after calving using proteomic analysis and to analyze which enriched protein will be useful to industry of dietary supplements. In this study, cows in the experimental group were fed a standard composition of feed for 12 months, after which we collected the colostrum on the first and the third day after calving. By comparison between the first and the third day colostrum, several factors, including beta-lactoglobulin, fibrinogen gamma-B chain, complement C3, zinc-alpha-2 glycoprotein, bP47 protein, beta casein, and alpha-S2 casein were enriched in the third day colostrum, whereas immunoglobulin gamma 1 and beta- casein A2 were enriched in the first day colostrum. The results suggest that the colostrum composition depends on time and the first day colostrum is important to establish the primary specific immune system, whereas the third day colostrum might regulate the non-specific immune system and increase nutrition using casein and the third day colostrum might be useful dietary products for supporting the immune system.

      • Regeneration of Bovine Mammary Gland in Immunodeficient Mice by Transplantation of Bovine Mammary Epithelial Cells mixed with Matrigel

        With the global demand for dairy protein for consumption growing annually, there has been increasing activity in the research field of dairy protein synthesis and production. From a manipulation perspective, it is more difficult to use live cattle for laboratory studies on the production of milk as well as of dairy protein such as casein, as compared with using laboratory animals like rodents. Therefore, we aimed to develop a mouse model of bovine mammary alveolar ducts for laboratory-scale studies. We studied the formation of the bovine mammary gland ductal structure by transplanting the MAC-T bovine alveolar cell line into mice. MAC-T cells (1×107) were suspended in Matrigel and injected into the dorsal tissue of 8-week-old male BALB/C nude mice. Histological analysis of tissue dissected from the MAC-T cell-transplanted mice after 6 weeks showed the typical morphology of the tubuloalveolar female gland, as well as glands made up of branching ducts that were surrounded by smooth muscle with small alveoli budding off the ducts. In addition, the epithelial markers CK14 and CK18 were expressed within the duct-like structure. Prolactin was detected in the duct interior in these CK14+ and CK18+ cells but not in the non-transplanted MAC-T cells. These results showed that duct-like tissue had been successfully formed after 6 weeks of transplantation of the CK14+ and CK18+ MAC-T cells into mice dorsal tissue. This mouse model will be a useful tool for further research on the bovine mammary gland.

        대량의 지식베이스를 처리하는 시스템의 모델링을 하기 위해서는 큰 규모의 데이터베이스에 저장되어 있는 정보를 효과적으로 접근할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 데이터가 계층의 구조를 갖고 모듈화 되어 있는 능동적인 기억소자(Processor/memory pair)에 저장되어 있는 시스템의 모델링에 사용할 수 있는 단계적접근(level access)방법론을 어떻게 유사추론 시스템(analogical reasoning system)에 적용 할 수 있는가를 보여준다.

        정보활용기술 발전에 따른 효과적 사이버 교육을 위한 설계 및 구현의 차이에 대한 연구

        이 연구는 다양한 개발 방법을 통해 효과적인 사이버 교육 프로그램을 찾는 것을 주목적으로 한다. ‘다양한 방법’의 접근은 어떤 전달 기술 (Delivery Technology)에 의해서 사이버 교육이 이루어 지고 있는가에 따라서 분류되었다. 제 1 세대에서 사용한 기술로써는 문자, Flash 그리고 애니메이션 이며, 제 2 세대와 제 3 세대에서는 동영상 비디오와 오디오 등 멀티미디어 기술을 사용하였으나 다만 비디오 클립에서 강의 되는 학습전달방법이 다르다. 평가결과 3 세대 기술을 이용한 방법이 가장 효과적인 학습 전달 기술로 평가되고 있다. 그러나 여기에서 사용한 멀티미디어를 이용한 학습 전달 방법은 개발에 드는 많은 비용 뿐만이 아니라 학습자에게도 네트워크의 전송속도가 빠른 최신의 컴퓨터를 필요로 한다. 그러므로 사이버 교육을 위한 멀티미디어를 이용한 프로그램 개발과 아울러 전송 속도 등과 같은 기술적인 개발도 이루어져야 한다고 생각한다. This study is aimed to develop and evaluate different approaches for cyber education. The project involved the development of sample cyber education programs using different design approaches, with built-in evaluation mechanisms. The different design approaches depend on what delivery technologies are involved. In the First Generation, the delivery technologies use text, flash and animation, whereas the synchronized content to video and audio are used in the Second and the Third Generations but the difference is the delivery method used by the videoclip. Tests were carried out through self-assessment to measure and analyze the efficient teaching. The results show that the Third generation technologies were the most effective method for cyber education. However, since the Third generation program is developed in multimedia, it tends to require higher development costs, and more advanced hardware and software as well as a higher bandwidth for network. Therefore, the research indicates that the development of technical supports, like loading speed, has to be solved simultaneously with the development of multimedia products for effective cyber education.

        열원이 존재하는 작업장내 기류 및 온도장 예측

        A CFD simulation of airflow and temperature filed in a heated room has been described in this paper. The thermal wall jet created by a radiator greatly influences the airflow pattern, temperature distribution. The area close to a heat source has a high risk of air-borne contamination and imposes a harmful effect on occupants in that area. The predicted flow field, temperature results show good agreement with the measured data. As the results were compared with experimental data. the applicability of CFD was satisfactorily verified. Also, the CFD simulation can capture the natural convective flow features. If a CFD simulation is applied ventilation design with a heat source, An effective design will be attained. Further study is required to improve the accuracy of CFD simulation.

      • 무선 ATM 망에서의 ATM 셀 전송 성능 개선 방안 및 성능 분석 연구

        ATM 기술은 본래 비트 에러가 매우 작고 랜덤하게 분산되어 있는 광 전송 시스템을 사용한다는 가정하에 개발된 기술이다. 그러나 무선 ATM 통신망에서 ATM 기술을 무선링크에 적용하는 경우에 채널특성 , 전력제한등 버스트 에러로 인해 유선 링크에 비해 상당한 전송 성능 열화가 예상되며 이를 보상하기 위한 방안들이 강구되어야 한다. 무선 전송 시스템에서는 성능을 개선하기 위해서 다이버시티, 등화, FEC(Froward Error Correcting)기법 및 ARQ(Automatic Repeat reQuest) 기법등을 이용한다. 무선 ATM 망에 적용할 수 있는 오류 제어 기법은 FEC(Forward Error Correction), ARQ(Automatic Repeat reQuest), Hybrid ARQ 기법 등이 있으며 본 논문에서는 1 종류의 부호를 사용하는 단일 FEC 기법, 2종류의 부호를 결합한 연집(Concatenated) FEC기법, ARQ기법을 사용하여 무선ATM망에서 요구되는 품질 (QoS)을 얻을 수 있도록 BER, CLR, CER등의 파라미터를 이용하여 성능을 분석하였다.

      • 비기능성 부신피질암 1례

        비기능성 부신피질암은 발생 빈도가 극히 드문 악성 종양이며, 내분비학적 임상증상이 없어 주로 복부 종물에 의해 우연히 발견된다. 그래서 대부분 종양의 크기가 거대하고 전이로 진행된 경우가 흔하며, 절제술만으로는 치유 불가능한 경우가 많아 예후가 불량한다. 최근 저자들은 약 10년간 간헐적인 좌측 측복통과 흉부 압박감으로 내원하여, 이학적 검사 및 방사선학적 검사상 복부 종물이 확인되고 생화학적 검사에서 비기능성으로 판명된 52세 남자 환자에서 근치적 신절제술을 시행하여 병리조직검사상 비기능성 부신피질암으로 진단되었기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Nonfunctioning adrenocortical carcinoma is extremely rare, which is diagnosed most often in older man because of mass effect. Most tumors are discovered too late for curative resection, and advanced tumors are associated with a poor prognosis. Herein we report on a 52-year-old man with nonfunctioning adrenocortical carcinoma, treated by radical nephrectomy.

        만화 과제를 이용한 정신분열병 환자의 사회인지 능력의 측정

        Objectives : This study is to investigate the hypothesis that schizophrenic patients have difficulty in inferring mental state of others. Methods : Twenty schizophrenic patients and twenty normal subjects were administered to the Cartoon Task required inferring the character's intention in a given context. Results : The schizophrenic patients showed a statistically significant impairment in the Cartoon Task. Both groups chose the card depicting a frequent everyday action significantly more rather than the similar card to the last picture in each story for wrong answers. Conclusion : These preliminary results suggest that schizophrenia is associated with a specific deficit of the cognitive ability referred to as social cognition, and this deficit can be detected not only in the acute phase as found in previous research studies, but also in remission. Also when subjects fail to appreciate what is going on in the minds of other people, they seem to rely on a socially familiar experience.

      • 금수봉과 장태산 일대의 식생 군락에 따른 조류상

        This study is to investigate the diversity of the birds and avifauna in and around Mt. Kumsoo and Mt. Jangtae with focusing on forest type. Mt. Kumsoo consists mainly of natural forest, whereas man-made plantations were found in Mt. Jangtae. Bird diversity was evaluated according to the richness of species. Species richness was higher in Quercus mongolica, Q. variabilis, and Q. serrata-Q. variabilis communities than in Metasequoia glyptostroboides and Picea abies communities, and higher in Castanea crenata, P. koraiensis, Eucommia ulmoides, and P. densiflora communities than in Q. acutissima and Pinus densiflora communities. Nine species of bird discovered in communities of Q. mongolica, Q. variabilis, and Q. serrata-Q. variabilis were not found in M. glyptostroboides and P. abies communities; one species was found in M. glyptostroboides and P. abies communities but not in Q. mongolica, Q. variabilis, and Q. serrata-Q. variabilis communities, and fourteen species were present in all flora. Difference in habitat-use is important because the effect of reforestation on the avian diversity should not be examined only according to forest type, but also should examine the proportion of plantation in each area.

      • 편마비 환자에서 정량적 감각기능 검사로 측정한 온도감각역치

        Objectives:Hemiplegic patients with unilateral cerebral lesions suffer from sensory deficit as well as motor deficit. But clinical assessment of thermal sensation is one of the least reliable components of neurological examination and is difficult to quantify. Methods:We measured thermal sensory thresholds of cold sense, warm sense, cold pain and hot pain in hemiplegic patients with thermal sensory analyzer(TSA). To investigate and quantify the thermal sensory deficit of hemiplegic patients, we compared the measurements with normal con-trols, between body regions, and between hemiplegic and sound side. Results:Hemiplegic patients showed impaired thermal sensory thresholds in all modalities compared to their sound side and normal controls. Conclusion:Quantitative sensory test using thermal sensory analyzer can be useful to quantify the thermal sensory deficit and follow up the progress.
