        Thanks to the rapid development of technology in Electronics, Information and Communiciation, today all of the country including us are experiencing surrounding changes of the technology in the Information & Communication field to prepare for the high information age of 21C. Especially the world is in full-scale process of super high Information & Communication to support all kinds of its services and new medial ones. It is important not only to develop high developed machinery but also to have a sense of traditional design to appeal it. Referring to design, it can play an important role to distinguish our products from other country ones only when it is characterized with our special pattern and form in many parts of culture and arts and when we ger well accustomed to our climate. Until now, traditional fan applied to the Information & Communication machinery used traditional image in the formal factor has been found but our traditional fan's form has been greatly considered not only in the external form but also in the interior side by using the incantative form, design and color. As we observed, our products are very superior to others and have an infinite possibility to develop into the goods having an international design. So I looked at the Information & Communication machinery on the side of its design subjecting it of this study. And I used the formal factor of traditional image to make the machinery portable and usable easily and considered the functional side to carry its function as well as the emotional side to lessen the distance between the user and the machinery in orde people to gather information and share.

        In the study the bearing capacity of the eccentrically loaded shallow footing is estimated by means of the upper bound method of limit analysis. In the case of applying the upper bound, the results depend on the failure mechanism. So the failure surface is correctly studied through the model test using sand. New method is proposed to estimate the bearing capacity of the eccentrically loaded shallow footing by means of the upper bound method to apply the failure mechanism based on the model test. The propriety of new method is verified by the results of various methods. And the influences of the variables eccentricity, embedment depth, variations of contact width factor by model test using sand are also studied in this paper

      • 3-Acetamidophenyl Acetate의 Fries Rearrangement 반응 연구

        Fries rearrangement has been known as highly useful reaction for the synthesis of ortho-or para-hydroxyacylbenzene from phenyl ester in the presence of Lewis acid catalyst. Conventionally, aluminum chloride was used as catalyst. For obtaining N-(4-acetyl-3-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide, 3-acetamidophenyl acetate was subjected to Fries Rearrangement reaction using aluminum chloride. Although the desired N-( 4-acetyl-3-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide was obtained, yield was very low. In addition, regioisomer N-(2-acetyl-5-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide and unexpected N-(2-methyl-4-oxo-4H-chromen-7-yl) acet-amide were obtained. NMR study and conversion to known compollnds confirmed the substitlltion pattern of these phenylacetamides and the structure of chromen-4-ones. Under this Fries Rearrangement condition, formation of chromen-4-one was newly discovered.

        뇌수막종에 대한 고식적 방사선 치료 : 7예 치험보고 Experience of 7 Cases

        Meningiomas had long been considered radioresistant and therefore the role of radiation therapy in its treatment remains controversial. Lately, however, most of the retrospective analysis of meningiomas indicates that radiation therapy does show some degree of beneficial effects not only for malignant but also for benign meningiomas with the advanced technology and increased amount of radiation therapy, the rate of growth of tumor had been successfully slowed and local recurrence rate is also reduced following subtotal resection. We have performed conventional high dose radiation therapy on 7 cases of meningiomas (four cases of meningotheliomatous meningiomas, and three cases of malignant meningiomas). Of the 7 cases, the residual mass of 6 had decreased in size and neurological improvement was also evident. However, the 7th case resulted in complicated hydrocephalus. These cases are presented and the effect of conventional radiation therapy is discussed together with the review of literatures.

        보툴리눔독소 A를 이용한 반복적인 nasal flare의 치료

        Repeated nasal flare is a condition that one repeatedly dilates one's nostrils unconsciously. It is not pathogenic, however, may be a cosmetic problem. This is caused by excessive activities of the alar part of nasalis. We, herein, report a successfully treated case with the botulinum toxin A. (Korean J Dermatol 2003;41(12):1689~1690)

        마이크로 인장시험법을 이용한 단결정 실리콘의 파괴강도에 미치는 공정 및 크기효과 평가

        The process and size effects on the fracture strength of single-crystal Si were evaluated using a microtensile testing method. The microtensile specimens of single-crystal Si films were fabricated by CMP(chemical-mechanical polishing) and micromachining processes, The microtensile test setup was built to accommodate requirements such as specimen handling, jig, alignment and very small loads and displacements. The variations in the fracture strength with thickness and effective volume of the Si film were evaluated. In addition, the results were discussed statistically. The effects of dry-etched surface and CMP surface on the mean fracture strength were compared. Through AFM (atomic force microscopy) observation, it could be found that the larger flaws of the dry-etched surface affected significantly on the decreasing of the mean fracture strength.

      • Wavelet 변환을 이용한 고저항 지락사고의 고장 검출 및 고장점 추정

        High Impedance Fault (HIF) defined as fault that general overcurrent relay can not detect or interrupt. Especially when HIF occur in residential areas, energized high voltage conductor results in fire hazard, equipment damage or personal threat. This paper proposes modeling the high impedance fault in transmission line using the ZnO arrester which can be implemented within EMTP. The performance of the proposed model is tested under a variety of fault conditions on a typical 345[kV] korean transmission line system. Wavelet transform is efficient and useful for the detection of HIF in power system because it uses short windows at high frequencies and long windows at low frequencies. HIF detection method using wavelet transform must distinguish HIF from similar fault like arcfurnace load, capacitor bank switching and line switching. With comparison in detetion characteristic of similar fault, we represents the efficiency of that in HIF detection. Moreover, this new technique can implement fault location computation using fundamental frequency component of wavelet analysis.

      • 고층사무소건물의 매스구성을 위한 전문가 시스템의 개발에 관한 연구

        건축에서의 전문가 시스템은 설계자에게 많은 가상적인 해결안을 반복해서 수집해야할 수고를 줄여주고 모델링이나 정보제공과 같은 정형적인 측면과 설계의 판단, 상황별 특성과 같은 비정형적인 측면을 연결시키는 도구로 작용한다. 본 연구는 고층사무소건물의 설계과정 중 매스 구성 단계에서 중요한 역할을 하는 요소를 찾아내고, 그 요소들의 정형화 및 표준화 작업을 통해 고층사무소건물의 매스구성을 보조하는 전문가 시스템을 개발하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결론을 요약해보면 다음과 같다. 건축설계작업 중 매스구성 단계를 제한조건을 만족시켜나가는 제한조건 만족모델로 인식할 수 있었으며, 이 제한조건의 일부를 체계화하여 건물의 매스구성을 보조할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하는 것이 가능하였다. 또, 개발된 시스템을 실제 사례를 통해 평가해 본 결과 타당성 있는 결과물을 산출할 수 있었다. In architecture, the expert system helps architects reduce unnecessarily repeated process. It also serves as a tool of linking patterned processes such as medeling and information provision, with unpatterned processes like decision-making process which can produce different results depending on the situation. This study is devoted to develop an expert system which is helpful to find out the important factors in massing process and to assist the massing of high-rise office buildings through patternization and standardization. The conclusion from the study as follows; It is definitely possible to make the expert system recognize the massing process as a process of meeting all the constraints on a step-by-step basis. So, the developed expert system can assist the massing process by systemizing parts of the constraints. It also proved that the developed knowledge-based system can produce proper outputs as its test showed during the study.

        Lymphangioma에 의한 거설증을 지닌 환자의 개교합 증례보고 : A CASE REPORT

        Lymphangioma는 림프관에 나타나는 양성종양으로 림프관의 증식을 특징으로 한다. 이 종양의 대부분은 출생 시에 나타나며 종양의 95%정도가 10세 이전에 나타난다. 구강 내에 발생하는 경우에는 혀에서 가장 호발하며 거설증을 야기한다. 대개 양측성으로 혀의 전방 2/3부위에 나타나며 불규칙한 회색과 핑크빛을 띤 소절형태를 보인다. 본 증례 모두에서 환아들은 출생당시 혀에 lymphangioma를 지니고 태어나 거설증을 보였으며 이로 인해 개교합과 하악과성장 양상을 나타내었다. Lymphangioma에 의한 비정상적인 혀의 비대에 의해 환아의 구강과 두개안면부의 주위조직에 대한 적응 결과로 나타난 소견을 관찰하고 관련문헌을 고찰하여 다소의 지견을 얻었기에 보고하는 바이다. Lymphangioma is a benign tumor of lymphatic vessels. The majority of cases are present at birth and 95% of the tumors aroused before the age of 10 years. Oral lymphangioma may occur at various sites but are most frequent on the anterior two thirds of the tongue, where they often result in macroglossia. The lesions present nodularity with gray and pink projections. In the present cases, all the patients who had the macroglossia combined with lymphangioma showed openbite and mandibular prognathism. The purpose of this paper was to report the dental and craniofacial findings of macroglossia combined with lymphangioma and review the pertinent literature through the cases.

      • Duchenne 근이영양증 환자에서 Propofol과 Remifentanil을 이용한 전정맥마취 경험 : 증례보고

        Patients with Duchenne's muscular dystrophy are considered to be at risk of peri-operative complications. It's patients can be associated with cardiac arrest, rhabdomyolysis, malignant hyperthermia during anaesthesia. This is a case report of a 14 years old male patient who had known Duchenne muscular dystrophy was scheduled for open reduction and internal fixation of right humerus fracture. Regional anesthesia was refused by the patient. Total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) was performed with propofol and remifentanil, which was started at the targeted effect concentration of 3.0μg/ml and 10ng/ml via target controlled infusion. After the end of operation, the patient was awaken without any problem and was transferred to recovery room.
