        Tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica (TPO) is a rare benign disease of unknown etiology characterized by multiple cartilaginous or bony submucosal nodules, which project into the tracheobronchial lumen. Although some disorders were reported combined with TPO, these seemed to be considered casual. We report a case of TPO that combined with adenocarcinoma of lung. She was 50-year-old non smoking woman presented with chronic cough with right chest pain. Lung mass on right lower lobe was found on chest x-ray, so lung cancer was suspected. Multiple scattered whitish small elevations from trachea to bronchial trees were found on bronchoscopic exam. We mistook these lesions for metastases from lung cancer and biopsies of these lesions were done. Transbronchial biopsy for right lower lobe mass lesion was also done. But biopsies from trachea and bronchus revealed TPO rather than lung cancer. Transbronchial lung biopsy of right lower lobe mass was diagnosed adenocarcinoma of lung. So TPO combined with adenocarcinoma of lung was diagnosed.

        The covalent attachment of ubiquitin to proteins plays a fundamental role in the regulation of cellular function through biological events involving abiotic of biotic stress responses, immune responses, and apoptosis, Here, we characterize the biological function of the Arabidopsis thaliana RING Zinc Finger 1 (AtRZF1) in dehydration response. AtRZF1 was significantly reduced by drought stress. The atrzf1 mutant was less sensitive to osmotic stress than the wild-type during early seedling development, wheareas transgenic pants overexpressing AtRZF1 were hypersensitive, indicating that AtRZF1 megatively regulates drought-mediated control of early seedling developmeng. Moreover, the ectopic expression of the AtRZF1 gene was very significantly influential in drought sensitiv parameters including proline content, water loss, membrance ion leakage and the expression of dehy-dration stress-relat genes. ARZF1 is a functional E3 ubiquitin ligase, and its conserved C3H2C3-type RING domain is likely important for the biological function of AtRZF1 in drought response. Together, these results suggest that the E3 ligase AtRZF1 is an important regulator of water deficit stress during early seedling development.

      • 단순슬래브 사교의 휨모멘트 산정에 관한 연구

        In the Simply Supported Skew Slab Bridge analysis, "The Highway Bridge Standard Specifications of Korea" dose not prescribe exactly a variable of edge supported condition, skew angle and loading condition etc. Therefore, the present standing rules of "The Highway Bridge Standard Specification of Korea" is expected to overestimate the maximum design bending moment of the skew slab bridge. Also, a study on the effective modeling method needs consideration of moment value difference according to modeling method. In this paper, the simply supported skew slabs are analyzed by using finite element program, SAP 90, and the results are compared with those from "The Highway Bridge Standard Specifications of Korea". Modeling method using Shell element is considered as parallelogram mesh, mesh orthogonal to support, mesh orthogonal to span. The moment values from the modelling are compared with the results researched by Nielsen. So this study suggested a proper modeling method and considered the effect of skew angle and ratio of slab length to slab with on moment values using shell and grillage element.

      • 正常 Rat에서의 蔗糖經口投與에 依한 高血糖症에 미치는 대추나무 葉 抽出物의 影響

        대추나무의 열매는 漢方에서 여러方面에 廣範이 利用되고 있으나 그 잎은 利用되지 않고 있으나 이 잎에는 甘味受容抑制用과 糖의 腸에서의 吸收抑制作用을 가지는 成分이 含有되어 있음이 밝혀져 糖吸收抑制物質로서의 開發의 對象이 될 수 있을 것이다. Insulin??乏等으로 因하여 耐糖能에 異常이 있는 疾患에서는 糖吸收을 抑制함으로 腸管에서의 急擊한 大量의 糖의 吸收를 事前에 防上시켜 Insulin分泌細胞에 대한 負荷를 輕減시켜 줄 수 있는 것임으로 대추나무 葉 抽出物이 糖吸收抑制作用이 있는지를 確認코져 蔗糖負荷動物에서의 血糖値 上昇反應에 미치는 대추나무 葉 抽出物이 作用을 檢討하여 다음과 같은 成績을 얻을 수 있었다. 1. 대추나무 葉 抽出物이 負荷된 蔗糖量의 1/10에 該當되는 比較的 少量에서는 蔗糖負荷에 依한 血糖値上昇作用을 抑制할 수 없었다. 2. 比較的 大量 卽 蔗糖負荷量의 3/10에 該當되는 用量에서는 대추나무 葉 抽出物이 蔗糖負荷에 依한 血糖値上昇을 有意하게 抑制하였다. 以上의 結果로 미루어 보아 대추나무 葉 抽出物은 糖攝取에 의한 血糖値上昇反應을 억제하여 비만과 당뇨병치료에 이용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. The fruits of the Ziziphus jujuba have been to use an application in the various ways of chinese medicine and the leaves of this plant have been not to use for this purpose. But, It was pointed out that leaves of the Ziziphus jujuba contain the ingredients of inhibitory action in sweet taste reception of the tongue and intestinal absorption of glucose. Therefore, it is done to developing substance as inhibitory substance of intestinal glucose absorption. The patients with glucose intolerance because of insulin deficiency have a condition of a sudden intestinal glucose absorption. For this reason, the suppression of the sudden glucose absorption alleviate loads of insulin secretion of pancreatic islet cell. In this study, the author have the purpose which confirms the effect of EZJ to intestinal glucose absorption by sugar intake with this substance, that is, levels of blood glucose after sucrose in dose of 6g/kg of body with EZJ in dose of 0.6g/kg of weight were determined to investigate the effect of EZJ on the elevation of blood glucose levels with sugar intake in normal rats. After an overnight fasting, sucrose solution was given orally to the control group. Experimental groups were divided into single EZJ, Triple EZJ, EZJ administered at 2 hours and 1 hours before sucrose and another one with sucrose. Blood glucose levels were determined with Glucoscott at just before and 15, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes after sucrose adminstration. The results were as follow : 1. The relative small amounts of EZJ in does of a tenth of sucrose loading dose was not suppressed the elevation of blood glucose levels with oral sugar intake. 2. The relative large amounts of EZJ in does of three tenth of sucrose loading dose was significantly suppressed the elevation of blood glucose levels with oral sugar intake. Presnt results suggest thae EZJ has a suppressive effect on raising blood glucose levels after oral sucrose administration. This fact would be the advantage of EZJ in an application to the therapy or prevention of dabetes mellitus and obesity.

        Effect of Asiasari Radix, which is a herbal drug used frequently in the oriental prescriptions, water extract on the liver-protective activities were investigated in the rats. Asiasari Radix extract, when administered into the gast-ric intubation, produced liver-protective effect against benzo(a)pyrene induced liver damage. The results obtainedfrom liver microsomal enzyme assay, measurement of serm and liver alanine·aspartate aminotransferase and lipid accumulation, indicated that alismatis extract showed significant liver-protective activities agai-nst benzo(a) pyrene poisoning.

        Cyclodextrin Glucanotransferase와 Cyclodextrinase를 생산하는 Bacillus 속 세균의 분리와 그 효소들의 특성

        토양으로부터 CGTase와 CDase를 함께 분비·생산하는 내열성 세균을 분리하였으며, 동정결과 Bacillus stearothermophilus로 판명되어 KJ16으로 명명하였다. Bacillus stearothermophilus KJ16 균주는 회분배양할 경우 2단계 성장을 하며 일차증식기에 CGTase를 생산하고 이차증식기에 CDase를 생산하는 양상을 보였다. 배치 pH를 7.0으로 조절하면서 배양할 경우, CGTase는 균의 증식에 따라 증가하고 CDase는 CGTase보다 뒤에 생산되었다. 그 생산양은 pH 비조절 배양에 비해 CGTase는 최대 12배(1300 mU/ml)까지, CDase는 2배(225 mU/ml)정도 증가되었다. 분리균주가 생산하는 CGTase는 분자량이 65,000 dalton으로 pH 6.0, 60℃에서 최적활성을 보이며 HPLC 분석을 통해 α-, β-, γ-CD를 42: 46: 12의 비율로 생산하는 α/β 혼합형 CGTase였다. 또한 CDase는 분자량이 68,000 dalton으로 pH 6.0, 55℃에서 최적활성을 보이며 최적기질은 γ-CD였다. A bacterium named as Bacillus stearothermophilus KJ16. The growth of the isolated strain occurred in two steps, and syntheses of CGTase and CDase were dependent on the growth cycle of the cell. CGTase was constitutively synthesized during the 1st growing phase, while CDase was synthesized inducibly during the 2nd growing phase. When the medium pH was controlled at 7.0, the maximun enzyme activities of CGTase and CDase were increased by 12-fold(1300 mU/ml) and 2-fold (225 mU/ml), respectively, compared with the pH-uncontrolled batch culture. The CGTase of the isolate converted soluble starch to CDs with the ratio of α-CD: β-CD: γ-CD=42:46:12 at 55℃. The optimal pH and temperature of CGTase were 6.0 and 60℃, respectively and the optimal pH and temperature of CDase were 6.0 and 55℃. The molecular weights of the purified CGTase and CDase were estimated to be 65,000 and 68,000 dalton, respectively. Among serveral substrates, γ-CD was most rapidly hydrolyzed by the purified CDase.

      • Benzo(a)pyrene에 의해 유도된 간기능장해에 미치는 자근 추출액의 영향

        민간에서 주로 사용되는 약용식물들 중 간독성의 발현 저해 및 간기능 보호효과가 우수한 약물을 찾아 임상적인 약효를 밝혀보고자 하는 실험 과정으로 탄소화합물의 불완전 연소 및 열분해에 의해 생성되는 간장해 물질인 benzo(a)pyrene 으로 유도한 rats 의 간독성 발현에 미치는 자근 수침액의 예방 및 치료효과를 실험한 결과 자근 수침액의 투여는 B(a)P 투여로 현저하게 증가된 혈청 및 간장의 AST, ALT, LDH, ALP 활성을 유의성있게 감소시켰고, B(a)P투여로 증가한 혈청 total cholesterol 및 phospholipid 함량 역시 감소시킬 수 있었으나 그 효과는 현저하지 않았다. 즉, 자근 수침액의 투여는 B(a)P에 의한 간독성 발현을 유의성 있게 감소시켰으며 그 효과는 전처리가 후처리에 비해 우수하였다. The present study was undertaken to compare the pharmacologicalactivities of cn de Lithospermi Radix reported with the clinical uses in the orientalmedicine. Crude Lithospermi Radix uesd for the treatment of burn, eczema,blister, diuretic, scarlet fever and septicemia as antipyretic, antidotic and antiph-logistics. Therefore we tested the effects of Lithospermi Radix water extracton the liver-protective activities in the rats. The results obtained from enzymeassay, measurement of serum and liver alanine·aspartate aminotransferase(ALT, AST) and lipid composition indicated that Lithospermi Radix water extractshowed significant liver-protective activities against benzo(a)pyrene-induced he-patotoxicity.
