L-Moment 법을 이용한 지역적 가뭄빈도분포형 결정

To quantitatively investigate the nationwide drought characteristics and to comparatively evaluate the drought severity, regional frequency analysis developed from cumulative monthly precipitation series is made for the meteorological stations in each of the 15 subbasins covering the whole nation. The best-fit probability distribution is chosen by the method of frequency analysis made the discordancy measure for each stations, the regional heterogeneous measure and the goodness-of-fit measure, the probability distributions fitted drought precipitation series are multi-parameter probability distributions, The method of L-moments is used to determine the unbiased parameters of each distribution and the best-fit distribution for each subbasin of various durations(4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months) with return periods of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 years are estimated. This study is focused on suggesting the method determines the drought precipitation of the durations and return periods of each regions by the probabilistic analysis.

Prediction of thrapeutic response to radioiodine in Graves' disease is poorly understood. Although thyrotropin binding inhibitor immunoglobulin(TBII) level is a strong index for relapse after antithyroid drug medication, conflicting results are reported regarding its prognostic significance in Graves' disease treated with RAI. This study is dengned to evaluate possible relationship between post-treatment hypothyroidism and TBII in Graves' disease treated with RAI. Fourty two patient with Graves' disease after radioiodine treatment were studied retrospectively. The subject were divided into hypothyroid group and euthyroid or hyperthyroid group. We evaluated the association of hypothyroidism and TBII with radioiodine treatment dose. The mean age of hypothyroid group was 48±11 years and euthyroid or hyperthyroid group was 47±12 years. There was no difference in two groups. And there was no significant difference in post- treatment TBII between two groups(49.9±28.5%, 29.9±14.3%, p-value >0.05). The treatment-dose had no influence on post-treatment thyroid state. Euthyroid or hyperthyroid group was done with 13.6±6.9mCi and hypothyroid group was 17.0±10.4mCi(p-value > 0.05). TBII had no prognostic significance on long-term hypothyrodism in Graves' disease treated with radioiodine. And, treatment-dose had no influence on post-treatment thyroid state.

Background : In recent years gonorrhoea has been panendemic and remains one of the most common Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Method : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae(PPNG), Ive have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1994, 168 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 109 (64,9% ) were PPNG. Conclustion : Our results suggests that the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is still increasing.
Multi-Order Dynamic Range DNA Sensor Using a Gold Decorated SWCNT Random Network

<P>A novel electrical DNA biosensor is presented, which consists of gold (Au) nanoscale islands and a single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) network on top of a concentric Au electrode array (also referred to as the CGi). The decorated Au islands on the SWCNT network provide ideal docking sites for ss-DNA probe (p-DNA) molecules. They also provide better adhesion between the SWCNT network and the chip substrate. In addition, the concentric electrode gives asymmetric current voltage characteristics in the solution and provides more flexible bias options to the electrodes. The sensor system is applied to a DNA sensor after functionalization with a 25mer p-DNA (5′-HSC<SUB>6</SUB>-C<SUB>18</SUB>-GCCATTCTCACCGGATTCAGTCGTC-3′), hereafter called the [CGi+p-DNA]. The response of the DNA sensor has been measured in both real-time during hybridization with the complementary target ss-DNAs (t-DNA) and the static mode after the hybridization and washing steps. A wide dynamic range from the 100 fM to 1 μM has been achieved from the real-time mode and the static mode. Moreover, it is shown that the sensor system differentiates partially mismatched (single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), half mismatch, noncomplementary) t-DNA, as well.
