        이트리아 첨가 붕규산염 유리로 제조한 알루미나-유리 복합체의 파괴인성 평가

        The study was performed to evaluate the fracture toughness of dental alumina-glass. Alumina compacts were prepared by press 150㎏/㎠ and sintering at 1100℃ for 2hrs. Dense composites were made by infiltrating partially sintered alumina with four different borosilicate glasses containing 1, 3, 6, 9 mol% Yttria(Y₂O₃) at 1200℃ for 6hrs. Apparent porosity was measured by the KS L 3114 principle method. Fracture toughness values were about ∼4.72 MPa·m½. Porosity rates of alumina-glass composites were about 0.2%. The fracture surface of the alumina-glass composites showed a Palmqvist crack pattern at the fracture origin and indicated a tendency by the frictional interlocking between the microstructurally rough fracture surfaces.

        This study was conducted to have basic and applied informations to establish the cultivation method and to improve the cultivation techniques of Angelica gigas Nakai through investigating the rates of germination and seedling establishment with treatment of plant growth regulator and seed priming. The germination rates of round shape seed were about 0.3~12% higher than those of parallel shape. The germination rates with different storage durations were increased at the level of 25oC and 4oC with the storage days, while they were clearly higher at -20oC compared to those at 4oC and 25oC without the storage durations. With the results of germination rates with treating of plant growth regulator and seed priming, their rates with the round shape seeds were comparatively higher about 6% than those with parallel shape seed and they were increased with increasing of the storage durations. The germination rates were generally appeared higher with GA3 than did those with seed priming. The highest germination rate was appeared at 50 ppm GA3 of plant growth regulator and at -0.5 MPa PEG6000 of seed priming. The germination rates?ㅤ ?ㅤ of Angelica gigas were different with different temperature, storage durations and the treatments of plant growth regulator and seed priming. These results could be used according to different cultivating conditions.

        구개부에 발생한 다형선종의 처치

        Pleomorphic adenoma of the palate is the most common of all intraoral salivary tumors. It can occur at any age but it presents most commonly in the 40∼60 age group, and there is no significant sex preponderance. It grows slowly and is usually painless, firm, well-circumscribed nodule. Because of high rate of recurrence, extra-capsular excision including the overlying mucosa and margin of normal tissue is recommended. We report 10 cases of palatal pelomorphic adenoma which have been successfully treated by extra-capsular excision. The surgical defects smaller than 3㎝ in diameter were covered with palatal acrylic splint for the secondary healing. The larger defects were repaired using palatal island flap in 3 cases, rotation flap and buccal fat graft in each 1 case. No patient showed any recurrence or malignant change during the mean follow-up period of 4 years and 9 months. These repair methods seem to be simple, reliable and uncomplicated procedures in the palatal surgical defects.

        교사들의 공통과학 실험 · 실습 선호도 조사 분석

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of the experimental and practical education in high school general science. The present status and reasonable management of the experimental and practical education in high school general science were evaluated by the questionaires. To do this, 146 science teachers in Korea are administered questionaires. The frequency of the experimental and practical items in the seven kind of general science text books were investigated. The problems and the reasonable management for experimental and practical education were proposed in this paper.

      • 실험실적 당뇨성 흰쥐에서 acetaminophen의 대사에 관한 연구

        Acetaminophen is one of the most important drugs used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain when an anti-inflammatory effect is not necessary. Phenacetin, a prodrug that is metabolized to acetaminophen, is more toxic than its active metabolite and has no rational indications. In this study, we were observed activities of free radical generating enzymes, free radical scavenging enzymes and glutathione-related enzymes as well as detoxification mechanism of against acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity in STZ-induced hyperglycemic rat. Activities of cytochrome p450, cytochrome b5, aminopyrine demethylase and aniline hydroxylase were changed by the treatment acetaminophen in hyperglycemic rats. It was also observed that activities of conjugating enzymes as sulfotransferase and UDP-glucuronyltransferase was slightly changes against acetaminophen-induced in hyperglycemic rats. Acetaminophen results in the significantly decrease in the level of hepatic glutathione concentration and √-glutamylcysteon, synthetase activities in hyperglycemic rats. And, glutathine S-transferase, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities were significantly increased against acetaminophen-inducedas in hyperglycemic rats. Glutathione reductase and catalase were not affected for experimental state. Furthemore, acetaminophen highered serum alanine, aspartate aminotransferase, sorbitol dehydrogenase, √-glutamylpeptidase, alkaline phosphatase and lactate dehydrogenase activities in hyperglycemic rats.         Azotobacter sp.에 의한 Butyric Acid와 Valeric Acid로부터 Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)의 생산

        Butyric acid 와 valeric acid로부터 poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (P(3HB-co-3HV))를 생산하기 위하여 P(3HB-co-3HV)의 생산능력이 있는 10종의 균주를 토양으로부터 분리하였으며 분리된 균주들중에서 P(3HB-co-3HV)의 생산능력이 가장 우수한 균주 HJ-067을 선별하였고, Azotobacter sp.로 부분 동정하였다. P(3HB-co-3HV)의 생산에 있어서 butyric acid 와 valeric acid의 최적 기질 농도는 각각 3.0g/l이었다. 질소원으로는 (NH_4)_2SO_4가 가장 우수하였으며, 최적 농도는 0.75 g/l(C/N ratio=21.36)이었다. 금속이온(Zn^2+, Co^2+, Mn^2+)의 결핍은 P(3HB-co-3HV)의 생산에 영향을 미치며, 특히 Mn^2+을 첨가하지 않은 경우에 P(3HB-co-3HV)의 생산량이 증가하였다. P(3HB-co-3HV)의 생산을 위한 최적 배양 온도는 27℃였으며, 최적 초기 pH는 7.0이었다. 상기의 최적 조건하에서 36시간 배양하여 얻어진 건조균체량 및 P(3HB-co-3HV)의 생산량은 각각 3.00 g/l, 1.82 g/l이었다. 이때의 P(3HB-co-3HV) yield는 건조 균체량의 60.60%(w/w)이었으며, HV%는 15.92%(w/w)이었다. For the production of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (P(3HB-co-3HV)) from butyric acid and valeric acid, 10 strains of bacteria capable of producing P(3HB-co-3HV) wee isolated from soil. Among them, the strain HJ-067 showed the best ability of producing P(3HB-co-3HV), and was identified as a Azotobacter sp. For the production of P(3HB-co-3HV), the optimum concentrations of butyric acid and valeric acid were 3.0 g/l, respectively. The most effective nitrogen source was (NH_4)_2SO_4 at an optimum concentration of 0.75 g/l, which was equivalent to 21.36 in C/N ratio. Deficiency of the cationic metal ions (Zn^2+, Co^2+, Mn^2+) in the production medium had stimulating effect on P(2HB-co-3HV) accumulation, especially in the managanese deficient medium. The optimum temperature for P(3HB-co-3HV) production was 27℃ and the optimum initial pH was 7.0. Under the optimum conditions, 1.82 g/l of P(3HB-co-3HV) and 3.00 g/l of dry biomass were produced after 36 hour cultivation, and the P(3HB-co-3HV) yield and HV% were 60.60% (w/w), 15.92% (w/w), respectively.

      • 食餌中의 Sucrose와 冠狀心臟病과의 關係

        Diet has been convinced to be an influential environmental factor of the development of coronary heart disease (CHD), though it is still on debate. The related dietary components include total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, animal protein, fiber, and sugar. During last 50 years, most of the dietary studies concerning atherosclerosis and CHD have emphasized the role of fats. In recent years, however, the effect of sucrose on the development of CHD has received considerable attentions. In 1957 a significant positive association of sugar consumption with the coronary mortality was first pointed out by Yudkin in London. Since then, various epidemiologic and experimental studies have been carried out upon their relationships and have suggested the hyperlipidemic effect of sucrose as a possible etiologic factor of CHD In order to learn to what extent dietary sugar influences the development of CHD in man, the evidences were reviewed under three headings. First, interrelations between the intake of sucrose and the CHD incidence: second, experiments in man and in animals: finally, suggested possible metabolic mechanisms.

      • 정상과 만성염증성 활막배양세포에서 Corticotropin releasing hormone(CRH)이 cyclooxygenaase-1(COX-1)과 cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) mRNA발현에 미치는 영향

        Corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH) is a major regulator of the hypothalamic-pituitaryadrenal axis(HPA). In inflammatory stress, the cytokines TNF-, IL-6 stimulate the production of CRH, a 41 amino acids neuropeptide, in the hypothalamus. The release of CRH leads to pituitary production of adrenocorticotropic hormone, followed by glucocorticoid secretion by the adrenal cortex. Glucocorticoids suppress namy components of the inflammatory process. Recently, CRH and CRH receptor were reported to be located in the periphery such as Immune system and chronic inflammatory sites as rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Cyclooxygenase consisted of two isoforms, COX-1 and COX-2, converts arachdonate to prostaglandins(PGs) which are important mediators of inflammation. insymoviocyte in RA, it was described that COX-2 mRNA was markedly increased by inflammatory agents, PMA or IL-1 and COX-1 transcripts were not modulated. We examined the modulation of COX by immune CRH in cultured normal and rheumatoid synoviocytes. Our results were shown that COX-1 mRNA expression decreased with the each stimulation of PMA and IL-1 in normal synoviocyte. In RA synoviocyte, PMA and IL-1 were increased mRNA expression of COX-1. In simultaneous treatment with CRH, PMA group was decreased, but IL-1 group was increased mRNA expression of COX-1. COX-2 mRNA expression was slightly increased by the treatment with PMA and highly increased by IL-1. After CRH treatment, PMA and IL-1 addictively increased COX-2 mRNA expression. We think that these results are contributed to the influence of increased cANP by CRH on the promoter of COX-2 in normal and synoviocytes. Because many cytokines, neuropeptides, and signal transduction pathways are involved in chronic inflammation, the exact role of CRH on inflammation is not fully elucidated. To achieve this goal, further experiments are needed.

        간호사의 특성분노 및 분노표현이 직무만족, 조직몰입, 조직성과에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among trait anger, anger expression, job satisfaction, job commitment, and organizational performance, and especially to verify the effect of anger experience on organizational performance. Method: A descriptive study was conducted using a convenient sample. Data were collected by a self-report questionnaire from 671 clinical nurses in three university hospitals and analyzed by using SPSS 14.0 Win program with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Result: Organizational performance was significantly correlated with trait anger, anger expression-in, anger expression-out, anger control, job satisfaction, and job commitment. Multiple regression analysis showed that organizational performance was significantly predicted by job commitment, job satisfaction, educational level (university graduation), anger control, and working place (operative room), and 34.7% was explained by these variables. Conclusions: Out of anger expression, anger control significantly affected on organizational performance together with job commitment and job satisfaction. From this result, it could be concluded that nursing intervention for anger control have a positive effect on improving organizational performance. Further studies are needed to develop and test the effect of nursing intervention programs for anger control.
