Purpose: Fractional microneedle radiofrequency (FMR) systems are used to treat inflammatory acne and scarring. Nonetheless, few controlled studies have combined this treatment with the traditional ablative fractional laser (AFL). We aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of the combination of FMR and AFL versus AFL alone in treating acne and acne scars. Materials and Methods: In this 20-week, randomized, split-face study, 23 Korean patients with facial acne and acne scars under went FMR and AFL treatments. One half of each patient’s face was randomly assigned to receive FMR+AFL, whereas the other half received AFL alone. Treatments were administered in three consecutive sessions at 4-week intervals. This study investigated the severity of inflammatory acne, acne scars, individual lesion counts, depressed scar volumes, as well as patient and physician satisfaction. In addition, five patients underwent skin biopsy, and sebum output was measured. Results: The FMR+AFL treatment demonstrated superior efficacy compared to AFL alone in terms of inflammatory acne and acne scar grading, lesion counts, and subjective satisfaction. The side effects were minimal and well-tolerated in both groups. Immuno histochemical findings from skin biopsy samples revealed that the application of FMR+AFL could induce an inhibitory effect on sebum secretion at the molecular level. Conclusion: FMR combined with AFL is a well-tolerated and effective treatment modality for inflammatory acne and acne scarring.
구순열 수술 후 흉터를 가진 영유아 환자에서 흉터 복합 레이저요법의 효과 및 안전성에 대한 단일 기관, 후향적 연구

Background: Postoperative scars following cleft lip surgery are frequently accompanied by cosmetic and functional problems; therefore, patients with cleft lip scars usually undergo various long-term scar treatment courses. Currently, only a limited number of fractional laser treatment cases of cleft lip scars have been reported. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the combination laser treatment for hypertrophic scar management following cleft lip surgery. Methods: This single-center retrospective study included 27 patients who underwent cleft lip surgery before 12 months of age. The control group comprising 13 patients received only a silicone gel or sheet for the scars, while the treatment group comprising 14 patients underwent laser treatment with a 1,550 nm non-ablative fractional erbium-glass laser, followed by a 10,600 nm ablative fractional carbon dioxide laser. Intralesional triamcinolone injection (5∼10 mg/mL) was administered immediately after laser treatment. Scar improvement was assessed at 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery using the Vancouver Scar Scale. Results: The mean total Vancouver scar scale showed a statistically significant improvement in the treatment group compared to that in the control group. In the sub-analysis of pigmentation, the vascularity, pliability, and height significantly improved in the treatment group. No differences in the patients’ baseline characteristics between the two groups were noted. No significant adverse effects were observed during the follow-up. Conclusion: Combination laser therapy using fractional lasers and intralesional triamcinolone injection is safe and effective for managing cleft lip surgery scars in infantile patients.
해조류 청각(Codium fragile) 에탄올 추출물의 항산화에 관한 연구

Seaweeds are rich in in minerals, vitamins, proteins, and fiber, and are classified as green algae, and they are distributed on the coasts of Korea, East Asia, Oceania, etc. and are used as a health function material as well as food ingredients in our countries and countries. In this study, Codium fragile was extracted from ethanol and concentrated to confirm DPPH radical scavenging activity, SOD activity, FRAP and ABTS cation radical scavenging ability. As a result, DPPH scavenging activity was 0.83, 22.83, 38.27, 40.93, 45.60% at 6.25, 12.50, 25, 50 and 100 μg/mL, SOD-like activity were 23.13, 33.63, 33.93, 44.07 and 59.07%. FRAP and ABTS showed antioxidant activity in a concentration-dependent manner, as in the previous experiment. Therefore, this study confirmed that it can be used as a cosmetic material using Codium fragile, a natural material. 해조류는 무기질, 비타민, 단백질, 섬유소가 풍부하며 녹조류에 속하는 청각(Codium fragile)은 청각과이며, 우리나라, 동아시아, 오세아니아 등 해안에 분포해 있고 우리나라와 각국에서 식재료 뿐만 아니라 건강기능소재로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 청각을 주정으로 추출하고 농축하여 DPPH 라디칼 소거능, SOD 활성, FRAP과 ABTS 양이온 라디칼 소거능을 확인하였다. 그 결과 DPPH 소거능 측정 결과 6.25, 12.50, 25, 50, 100 μg/mL 농도에서 0.83, 22.83, 38.27, 40.93, 45.60%의 소거능을 나타냈으며, SOD 유사활성 측정 결과 23.13, 33.63, 33.93, 44.07, 59.07%의 유사활성능을 보였다. FRAP과 ABTS도 앞에서 했던 실험 결과와 마찬가지로 농도의존적으로 항산화 활성을 보였다. 따라서 본 연구결과에서는 천연 소재인 청각을 이용하여 화장품 소재로서 활용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Heavy metal pollution of water can pose a serious threat to public health. Because pollution can occur at multiple stages of water distribution, portable on-site detection methods are highly desirable for routine monitoring of water contamination. Here, we developed a method that enables the detection of heavy metal ions using a personal glucose meter (PGM), a readily accessible analytical device. The method utilizes a cell-free genetic circuit that generates glucose in response to heavy metal ions. The cell-free protein synthesis reaction mixture includes template DNA encoding the invertase enzyme under the control of operators for heavy metal-responsive transcription factors. When supplied with heavy metal ions cognate to the transcription factors, the reaction mixture successfully generated functional invertase, which subsequently hydrolyzed sucrose to glucose. The resulting glucose levels measured using a PGM correlated well with the concentrations of the heavy metal ions, supporting the feasibility of this method to detect water pollution without sophisticated equipment. Our results demonstrate a successful example of harnessing cell-free protein synthesis to transform analytes into surrogate molecules that can be readily measured with generic analytical devices. We expect that the method described here could be adapted for widespread application in numerous fields in which routine monitoring of analytes is required.

The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze the meaning of narcissism experienced by elite sports players during their sports performances, thereby suggesting implications for improving the performance of elite sports players. To this end, focus group interviews were conducted with seven research participants who had been players for more than five years. As a result, first, the lives of elite sports players experienced by the research participants were those in which they strictly judged themselves through strict self-criticism and pursuit of a perfect self, and evaluated themselves by comparing themselves with others. Second, the perception and experience of narcissism were recognized as abnormal self-intoxication and a tendency to harm others through over-evaluation of themselves. Third, in sports performance, narcissism was said to provide perfect sports performance as a self-confident action force. However, it was concerned that excessive narcissism would lower self-development and have a negative impact on relationships with others. Fourth, the idea of utilizing narcissism in sports performance was expected to improve skills through mind control effects and bold performance ability, and the role of a leader who can moderate appropriate narcissism and the infinite possibilities of applying narcissism were mentioned. These results can be interpreted as athletes accepting narcissism positively, which provides a direction for utilizing narcissism to improve performance in sports performance.
서비스업 불안정 노동 재생산 기제: 최저임금과 노동조합에 대한 인식을 중심으로

Why has precarious work been reproduced in Korean labor markets? This study conducted in-depth interviews with 90 workers who were employed in personal, retail and wholesale, and social services. These service sectors were known for low wages and unstable employment contracts. We found that, considering their overtime work, it might be possible that a considerable number of workers were not receiving minimum wage. However, they did not want to report minimum wage violation due to fear of retaliation. Moreover, a majority of workers did not understand basic labor rights, and did not want to join trade unions. The reason was also fear of retaliation. It was not just because these three service sectors had businesses with small size, fissured workplace, and/or multilateral employment relationship, which are detrimental to improving the bargaining power of workers. It was also because workers under such unfavorable environment may actively seek to adapt to the situation, thereby reproducing precarious work and durable inequality. Based on these findings, this study suggests policy alternatives to reduce precarity at work. 이 연구는 한국사회에서 불안정 노동이 재생산되는 기제를 파악하기 위해 개인, 유통, 사회 서비스업에 종사하는 노동자 총 90명에 대한 심층면접을 실시하였다. 최저임금과 노동조합에 대한 노동자의 인식을 조사한 결과, 이 세 업종 모두에서 공통적으로 이 두 노동시장에 대한 규제가 제대로 작동하고 있지 못하다는 사실을 발견하였다. 세 업종 노동자 대다수가 연장 및 초과근로를 포함한 정확한 최저임금에 대해 잘 알고 있지 못했으며, 위반사항이 있다 하더라도 적극적으로 문제제기를 하겠다는 시정 의지를 보이지 않았다. 또한 노동조합을 노동 삼권과 관련하여 이해하고 있는 경우도 드물었으며, 비록 노동조합 자체에 대해서는 긍정과 부정의 평가가 모두 포함되어 있었음에도 불구하고 노동조합 활동을 하겠다는 의견은 찾아보기 힘들었다. 이는 단순히 영세한 기업구조나 불안정한 고용형태, 그리고 약한 교섭력에서만 기인한 것이 아니라, 이러한 구조적 제약 하에서 불안정 노동자가 적극적으로 자신의 적응전략을 발전시켜 나아갔기 때문이다. 이 연구는 이러한 분석 결과에 기초하여 불안정 노동의 재생산을 제어할 수 있는 대안을 제시한다.
시적(詩的) 공간에 대한 연구 : 하이데거의 공간론을 중심으로

Martin Heidegger's theory of space is meaningful in that it enables a phenomenological approach to space. This approach puts significance on the way in which space reveals its personality to humans and human beings, and on grasping interaction between human and space with a personality. This provided the opportunity for human life to permeate phenomenological thoughts and to think about spaces related to moods that Heidegger thought were the fundamental way for being to experience space. This thought led to the possibility of new space preparation for follow-up research on space and to the identification of non-physical spaces such as ‘experience space’, ‘atmospheric space’, and ‘life-enhancing space’. Furthermore, this study derived the characteristics of ‘conciseness’, ‘determination’ and ‘purification’ regarding the simultaneous action of any positive and peaceful mood in the appreciation of art works and grasped their respective meanings. In addition, Chung Seo-young's work, which enables such action, is poetic words, and the space formed by her work has been expanded to ‘poetic space’. The poetic space was identified as a space that contributes to the expansion of awareness and emotion, as well as the re-development of what was sunk in the realm of concealment. It is the work of the artist that makes this thought possible. The being's active grasp of an art work and the space it forms provided the basis for access to new spatial art beauty. 하이데거의 공간론은 공간에 대한 현상학적 접근을 가능하게 했다는 점에서 의미를 지닌다. 이러한 접근은 공간이 인간과 인간 존재에게 어떠한 방식으로 자신의 성격을 드러내고 있으며, 성격을 가진 공간과 인간의 상호 작용을 파악하는 것에 의미를 두고 있다. 이로 인해 인간의 삶은 현상학적 사유가 스며들 수 있는 계기를 마련했고 하이데거에게 존재자가 공간을 체험하는 근본 방식으로 여겨졌던 기분과 관계된 공간을 사유할 수 있게 되었다. 이러한 사유는 공간에 대한 후속연구에 새로운 공간마련의 가능성을 확보하게 했으며 ‘체험공간’, ‘분위기 있는 공간’, ‘삶을 고양하는 공간’ 등의 비물리적 공간의 파악으로 이어졌다. 나아가 본 연구는 예술작품의 감상 중 어떤 긍정적인 것과 평화로운 기분의 동시적 작용에 대하여 ‘간결함’, ‘단호함’, ‘정제됨’이라는 특징을 도출했으며 각각의 의미를 파악했다. 또한 이러한 작용을 가능하게 하는 정서영의 작품은 시어로서, 작품이 형성하는 공간은 ‘시적인 공간’으로 확장됐다. 이렇게 은폐의 영역에 침몰되어 있었던 것들을 새롭게 밝히고 인식과 정서의 확장에 기여하는 공간으로 ‘시적인 공간’이 파악되었다. 이같은 사유를 가능하게 한 것은 예술가의 작품이다. 예술작품과 그것이 형성하는 공간에 대한 존재자의 능동적인 파악이 새로운 공간예술미로 접근할 수 있는 근거를 마련했다.
Enhancing Autonomous Driving Safety and Ride Comfort using Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications

Advancements in autonomous driving technologies- have led to ongoing efforts to enhance performance through vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication. However, current V2V integration methods do not fully leverage new data types, such as brake and steering wheel data, and often replace existing sensor data with V2V data. This paper proposes two architectures designed to maximize the benefits of V2V communication for autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and adaptive cruise control (ACC) systems: V2V-empowered AEB with brake and steering wheel data (VEBS) and V2V-empowered ACC with brake and steering wheel data (VCBS). These architectures integrate sensor data with V2V communication, utilizing brake and steering wheel values obtained via V2V to enable more accurate predictions and faster responsiveness. Simulation results demonstrate that VEBS can avoid collisions and increase stopping distance by up to 243%, thereby enhancing safety. VCBS not only improves safety but also reduces average deceleration by up to 54%, contributing to enhanced ride comfort.
