        Today human needs for health promotion and maintenance are increasing. The nursing progression has a great responsibility for helping clients to practice good health behavior. self efficacy was found to be potent predictor in initiating and maintaining the health-related behavior. Therefore, the concept is important in nursig intervention for change of health behavior. The purpose of this paper was to analyze and clarify the meaning of the concept, self efficacy. This study used Walder & Avant's process of concept analysis. Critical attributes of self efficacy were : 1) positive perception of his won capability; 2) intrapersonal strength; 3) possibility of being learned; 4) individuality; 5) specificity; 6) generalizability. Antecedents of self efficacy consist of those facts that 1) new situation occurs; 2) individuals have needs to change the new situation; 3) there are some required actions in new situation. Consequences occurring as a result of self efficacy consist of those facts that 1) individual initiates the of failure; 5) cope with the situation; 6) controls the situation; 7) the level of self efficacy is enhanced; 8) the level of self-esteem is enhanced.

        This paper showed the summarization of the preservative method of wild vegetables in the house and the precessing method of Japanese pickles. The preservative methods of wild vegetables were explained devided into long, short term, fresh state, heat treatment and drying. Salt, soybean fermented sauce, soybean fermented paste, lees of refined rice wine and residue in the preparation of bean curd were used as the materials of Japanese pickles.

        열공형과 비열공형 피질하 혈관성 치매에서 위험인자의 차이에 관한 비교 연구

        Backgrounds and Objectives: Vascular dementia is a group of dementing disoders arising from various stroke syndrome. Among these. subcortical ischemic vascular dementia (SIVD) is regarded as a relatively distinct clinical entity. However, MRI patterns of SIVD are not homogenous. In some patients, lacunes are dominant, and in others, subcortical white matter changes are. This study was designed to compare risk factor profiles between SIVD with and without multiple lacunes. Methods: We divided 47 subjects (22 males, mean age. 68 years) recruited from VADAPET (Multicenter Trial For Evaluation Of The Changes In the PET Images Of Subcortical Vascular Dementia Patient) study into two groups one with more than 5 lacunes in deep gray matter (lacune group) and the other with 5 or less(non-lacune group) Clinical characteristics and laboratory findings of two groups were compared. Results: Nineteen of 47 patients (40%) belonged to the lacune group. The lacune and non-lacune groups d d not differ in the following variables: age, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia heart disease, history of stroke or TIA, history of trauma or major surgery, family history of hypertension stroke, or dementia, age at diagnosis of dementia, body mass index, white blood cell count, ESR, CRP, fibrinogen, hemoglobin A1C, total cholesterol. LDL cholesterol creatinine, proteinuria, glucosuria, and microhematuria. However, male sex, smoking alcohol. hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol were possibly associated more with lacune group SIVD than with non-lacune group (p<0 1) Multivariate analyses revealed that smoking, hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol were independent predictors of SIVD with multiple lacunes Conclusion: Our study suggests that SIVD with multiple lacunes may be significantly different in smoking habits hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol from SIVD without multiple lacunes.

      • CA 125치가 증가된 난소종괴 환자에서 악성 감별을 위한 CA 15-3과 TAG 72의 효용성

        The purpose of our study was to evaluate whether the combined use of serum tumor markers, CA 15-3 and TAG 72 could improve the efficacy for discriminating malignant from benign ovarian masses in patients with elevated serum CA 125 levels. Serum CA 15-3 and TAG 72 were preoperatively measured by immunoradiometric assay in 78 patients with pelvic masses who had elevated serum CA 125 levels above 35 U/ml. In 32 patients with epithelial ovarian cancers, serum CA 125 levels were elevated above 65 U/ml in 97% and serum CA 15-3(>30U/ml) and TAG 72(>10 u/ml) levels were elevated in 59% and 50%, respectively, suggesting relatively low sensitivity of CA 15-3 and TAG 72. However, in 41 patients with benign ovarian tumors, elevations of these two markers were detected only in 7% and 5%, respectively, and particularly, both markers were not elevated among all the aptients over 50 years of age. Coordinate elevations of CA 125(>35U/ml) and CA 15-3(>30U/ml) or TAG 72(>10 U/ml) could discriminate epithelial ovarian cancers from benign masses with a sensitivity of 72% and specificity of 90%. Among patients over 50 years of age, sensitivity and specificity were increased to 79% and 100%, respectively. It is concluded that the combined use of CA 15-3 and TAG 72 with CA 125 could obtain an improved efficacy for discrimination of epithelial ovarian cancer, especially among patients over 50 years of age.

        청국장 물 추출물이 반죽의 발효와 빵의 품질 특성에 미치는 영향

        The effect of water extracts of Chungkukjang(WEC: 10%, w/v), which was prepared using Bacillus subtilis isolated from Korean traditional Chungkukjang, on the pH, acidity and volume of the dough, and loaf volume index(LVI), color, texture, retrogradation degree, microscopic observation and sensory quality of the bread were investigated. Experimental plots were divided to 3 groups(Control; without WEC, Ⅰ; added 2.5% WEC against total amount of water, Ⅱ; added 5.0% WEC against total amount of water). There were no significant difference in pH and acidity among each experimental groups. Dough volume were higher but LVI were lower in the Ⅰ- and Ⅱ-bread than those of control group. L^(*) values of the top crust and internal tissue in the Ⅰ-and Ⅱ-bread were lower than those of control group. The higher addition amounts had the lower L^(*) values. Hardness, strength, gumminess and brittleness were higher, but cohesiveness and springiness were lower in the WEC-breads than those of control. In the results of microscopic observation, there were scarce of the bigger starch granules and a sparse structure, while there were smaller starch granules in the WEC-bread. The scores of crispy taste of the WEC-bread were lower than those of the control group, but there were no significant difference in tenderness, odor, savory taste and overall acceptability between the control and the Ⅰ-bread. The retrogradation rate of the bread stored for 3 days at 25t was 45.09% in control, 17.92% in Ⅰ-bread, and 12.45% in Ⅱ-bread, respectively.

        This study is aimed at investigating the individual life behavior and the use of the dwelling space: the consciousness and demand of individual life space of husbands and wives according to the sex and the social-economic status in urban alxirtments. The major research findings are as follows; 1. The individual life behavior of the husbands and the wives is revealed as follows: he husbands are shown more job-related work & side job and computer work & internet than the wives~ and the wives are shown more reading & studying, life of hobby, thinking & staying alone and drinking tea or alcohol alone than the husbands. There are differences between the sexes. By the investigating individual life behavior according to social-economic status, in the husbands' case, there are differences in job-related work & side job and computer work & internet by social-economic status, and in the wives' case, there are differences in reading & studying, life of hobby! computer work & internet and drinking tea or alcohol alone by social-economic status. 2. The dwelling space of individual life behavior differs with by the sex except for the taking a rest. 3. The frequency of individual life behavior has differences by the sex. According to the economic-social status, the frequency of individual life behavior of the husband are different in raw & studying, life of hobby, thinking a rest, thinking & staying done and drinking tea or alcohol alone, while in case of the Wives, there are only different in reading & studying.

        Cystic Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma: A Case of Undergoing Endoscopic Thyroid Lobectomy

        On ultrasonography, medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) shows hypoechogenicity, an irregular margin, a predominantly solid composition, and microcalcifications, similar to those observed in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). MTC presenting as a cystic lesion is rare, and endoscopic thyroidectomy can be performed for benign thyroid masses and early stage PTC, however it is inappropriate for MTC regardless of cystic change. The authors report a case of cystic MTC found after endoscopic thyroid lobectomy and provide a review of the literature on this topic.

        GH_3 세포(rat somatomammotropic tumor cell)에서 TRH가 Phospholipase D 활성에 미치는 효과

        연구배경: GH_3 세포는 TRH에 반응하여 세포막의 수용체와 G 단백, PI-PLC, PKC를 활성시켜 성장호르몬 및 프로락틴을 분비한다고 알려져 있다. PLD는 phosphatidylcholine을 phosphatidic acid(PA)와 choline으로 가수분해하는 효소로서 세포의 증식과 호르몬 분비에 관여한다. 본 연구는 GH_3 세포에서 아직 알려지지 않은 TRH의 PLD 활성에 대한 영향을 규명하고자 하였다. 방법: GH_3 세포를 1.5×10^6씩 분주하고 [^3H] myristate로 표지한 다음에 0.3% 알코올로 전 처치하였다. TRH 등의 시험제를 처치한 후에 메탄올로 반응을 종결하고 세포에서 총 지질을 추출하였다. PLD 활성은 박층크로마토그래피를 이용하여 총 [^3H] phospholipid에서 [^3H] phosphatidylethanol의 비율로 구하였다. 결과: TRH (1μM)의 처치 시에 PLC 활성은 44배 증가하였다. PLD 활성은 TRH (1μM), mastoparan (5μM), PMA(500nM)를 30분간 처치 시에 각각 1.9, 1.5, 2.2배 증가하였다. TRH(1μM)의 시간에 따른 PLD 활성 변동은 15, 30, 60, 120, 240분에 각각 142%, 170%, 172%, 160%, 115%의 증가를 보였다. 결론: GH_3 세포에서 TRH의 호르몬 분비와 세포증식의 신호전달 기전으로서는 PLC 활성뿐 아니라 PLD의 활성도 관여함을 시사한다. Backgroud: GH_3 cells are a well characterized and widely used model used for the in vitro study of growth hormone (GH) secretion. Thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) binds to receptors belonging to the family of G protein-coupled receptors, and secrets both GH & prolactin. Phospholipase D (PLD) is and enzyme that hydrolyses phosphatidylcholine to yield phosphatidic acid and choline, and plays important roles in cellular proliferation and hormonal secretion. To elucidate the pathway of the action of TRH in GH_3 cells, we investigated the activities of PLC and PLD in GH_3 cells treated with TRH or phorbor 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA). Methos : GH_3 cells were labeled with [^3H] myristate, followed by incubation of with 0.3% ethanol, prior to before the addition of the agonists. The total lipids were extracted from the harvested cells following treatment with the agonists. The PLD activity was assessed by measuring [^3H] phosphatidylethanol from the [^3H] phospholipid using thin layer chromatography. Results : TRH (1μM) stimulated the PLD activity by 44-fold over that of the control values. TRH (1μM), mastoparan (5μM), and PMA (500μM) for 30 minutes increased PLD activity by 1.9, 1.5 and 2.2 fold, respectively, in comparison to the controls, The PLD activities after 15, 30, 60, 120 and 240 min treatments of TRH (1μM) were 142%, 170%, 172%, 160% and 115%, respectively. Conclusion : These results suggest that TRH stimulates not only PLC activity, but also the PLD activity in GH_3 cells (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 17:465∼472, 2002).

      • 복숭아 낙과를 이용한 초산음료의 발효

        본 연구에서는 당도가 8% 내외인 수확기의 복숭아 낙과를 이용하여 양질의 초산음료를 농가에서 자가적으로 생산할 수 있는 방법을 검토하기 위하여 조직을 파쇄하여 담그는 방법으로서 단행복발효법(SSF)과 복발효법(CCF) 그리고 조직을 얇게 썰어서 복발효시키는 방법으로서 완전복발효(SCF)와 효모만 첨가시킨 후 초산발효는 자연적으로 이루어지도록한 방법(SYNF)을 상호 비교하였다. 복발효를 위하여 시설비 규모가 적고 이용 및 사용이 편리하도록 한 용기를 제작하여 행하였다. 측정은 산생성능과 식초내에 존재하는 과실의 향미는 관능검사를 통하여 평가하였으며 색상은 색차계로써, 유기산과 유리당은 HPLC법으로 측정하였다. 그 결과 SYNF법으로 제조한 식초는 SSF에서 보다 초산의 생성율은 다소 낮으나 과실의 색상과 향이 우수하였으며 맛성분으로서 유리당의 함량이 높고 유기산의 조성이 다양하며 산도가 적당하여 초산음료로서의 가치성이 높게 평가되었고 농가에서의 간편한 자가발효법으로 바람직하였다. 또 SYNF에 관여하는 초산균으로 3종이 분리되었으며 그 중에서도 SYNF-1은 당의 소비율이 낮은 반면 알코올의 이용율과 산 생성능이 높은 주 발효균이었다. The study was conducted to research the desirable method for fermentation of acidic beverage in the farmhouse using peach dropped at harvesting periods. Step by step fermentation(SSF), complex fermentation after crushing of the fruit(CCF), complex fermentation after slicing of the fruit(SCF) and natural fermenation added yeast only after slicing of the fruit(SYNF) were compared. The brief stationary fermentor for complex fermentation in the farmhouse was made in this experiment. The ability of acid production, flavor, taste and color were measured by sensory evaluation and mechanical methods. The quality of vinegar by SYNF was the most desirable, estimated by the color, the flavor, the content and composition of sugar, and of organic acids, and which was a suitable fermentation method for the farmhouse. The strains of acetobacter SYNF-1, 2 and 3 were isolated from the SYNF vinegar, and the SYNF-1 was a main strain.

      • 오존수 처리가 콩나물의 부패 및 생육에 미치는 영향

        오존수 처리가 콩나물의 부패 및 생육에 미치는 효과를 조사하기 위하여 실험 제작한 오존발생장치를 이용하여 콩나물 재배시 수침시의 콩의 세척과 재배중에 오존수로 주수한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 본 연구에서 개발된 콩의 세척장치와 그 부품을 이용하여 대두량에 대하여 0.5~2.0ppm으로 3시간 처리한 콩으로서 콩나물을 재배하면, 콩의 표면에 오염된 잔류농약이 80~100%까지 분해되었고 콩 g당 10^7정도 오염되어 있는 미생물이 10^3이하로 크게 감소되어 재배중에 부패율은 무처리 경우 10%에서 2%로 현저히 감소되었다. 또, 오존수 주수장치를 이용하여 콩나물재배시에 오존수를 0.5~2.0ppm으로 주수한 결과 부패율을 0%로 낮출 수 있었다. 뿐만 아니라 오존수로 재배한 콩나물은 수율이 증대되었을 뿐만 아니라 비린내가 현저하게 줄었고, 색상과 광택이 양호하였으며, 잔뿌리가 적었다. This study was conducted to investigated the effect of ozone treatment on putrefaction and growth of soybean sprouts ozone was produced using a Hi-Tech ozonator and measured by ozone monitor(Switzerland, Model 3600 analyzer). The soybeans were washed and grown by ozone treatment. The soybeans were exposed to aqueous solutions of ozone at 0.5~2.0ppm for 3 hours. In this ozone treatment, the great decrease in the number of total microbes of soybeans were showed to about 99%. The pesticide residues remained soybean surface were also estimated to 80~100%. The putrefaction of control soybeans during germination was greatly decreased from 10% to 2%. And, that of soybean sprouts was decreased to 0%. The increase of yield, decreases of fish flavor and number of lateral root, and improvement of colour and glaze for soybean sprouts were showed.
