        In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

        비만 개선 효과를 지닌 탄수화물 및 지방 흡수 억제 기능성 식이조성물 개발

        In a previous study, we developed a new food additive as an egg yolk antibody (IgY) against carbohydrate digestion enzymes for the regulation of blood glucose level and weight control. The IgY delayed and decreased the increment of blood glucose level after administration of sucrose in human being by 30% in 20∼30 min. We also developed a lipase inhibitor as a water extract of two kinds of herb, Platycodon grandiflorum and Solanum melongena. Twenty three volunteers were subjected to the intake of the egg yolk IgY plus the herbal extracts for 50 days. In average, the treated subjects appeared to lose 1.96 ㎏ of body weight and 3.4 ㎏ of body fat mass during the treated period. Furthermore, Panniculus adiposus and breech size were significantly decreased during the experimental period. Above results suggested that the administration of the dietary additives composed of egg yolk IgY and natural herbal extract improve the obesity by the decrement of body weight and body fat mass.

      • 소아에서 발생한 골수이형성 증후군 2례

        Myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS) is a group of acquired conditions characterized by progressive bone marrow failure associated with normocellular or hypercellular bone marrow that cannot be attributed to nutritional deficiency, chronic infection, or other chronic systemic illness, and cannot be reversed by the successful treatment of those conditions. Whereas the cases of secondary MDS occur at all ages, primary MDS is essentially a disease of elderly, though no age group is exempt and predomonant in men. The MDS is fundamentally clonal disorders at the level of the haemopoietic totipotent stem cell. Clinically, they are characterized by varing degrees of peripheral cytopenia(s) with morphological and functional abnormalities of blood elements. We have experienced two unrelated pediatric cases, who showed pancytopenia on admission and the characteristic marrow findings of MDS. The first case, a 12 months-old girl, showed increased reticulin with abnormal localization of immature precursor cells(ALIP) in her bone marrow, in addition to dysplastic features such as bi-and multi-nucleation of late normoblasts and internuclear bridging. She also showed 22% of blasts in her bone marrow cells thus classified in the category of RAEB-t after FAB classification. Also found were a chromosomal abnormality namely 46 XX t(14q21q), which was an unusual one. Her family brought her home and, 4 month later, she deceased. The second case, a 12 year-old boy, showed pancytopenia with Pseudo-Pelger-Huet anomaly in neutrophils but no blasts in the peripheral blood. Bone marrow of this case also showed the picture of dyserythropoiesis with binuclearity, internuclear bridging, nuclear fragments, multinuclearity of late normoblasts, in addition to megaloblastoid change in the normoblasts and increased mitosis in granulocytic series. No chromosomal abnormality was found. Classified as RA after FAB classification of MDS. Showed good response to conservative management for anemia for more than one year.

      • 설계변경의 경향 및 원인 분석을 통한 설계 품질향상 방안

        This study is prepared to introduce design quality improvement measures by the trend and cause analysis of design changes which have been made during operations of construction project for power plant. In this study, two types of analysis tool have mainly taken for the use of the improvement measures. One tool is the trend analysis to identify which action should be taken to cut down design changes. This is also useful to monitor whether project participant's endeavour for the action taken is effective or not, to the project performance and design quality improvement. The other is the cause analysis, by using cause and effect diagram, which is useful to identify main causes of the design changes and to establish the measures to reduce recurrence of the design changes.

      • 벼 무논골뿌림栽培時 播種期 및 立毛數가 生育 및 收量에 미치는 影響

        This study was conducted to establish the cultural techniques of the puddled-soil drill seeding of race (Oryza sativa L.), which is one of the efficient labor saving cultural methods, in the central part of Korea. Seoanbyeo was seeded at three times from April 10 to May 20 with the 20 day interval in 1994. The number of seedling stands per m2 at each seeding date were 50, 90, 130 and 170. The tillering characteristics, lodging characters, dry matter production, yield components and yield were investigated. The number of days to the maximum tillering stage was reduced at the later seeding date. It was 70, 55 and 25 days in seedings on April 10, April 30 and May 20, respectively. The critical effective tillering stage was also shortened at the delayed seeding. The higher the number of seedling stands was, the higher number of tillers, the shorter duration to the maximum tillering stage and the earlier critical effective tillering stage were resulted. The number of tillers was higher at the earlier seeding date. The number of tillers was increased in the order of 50, 90, 130 and 170 seedling stands per m2. The ratios of effective tillers were 53, 61 and 63% at seeding on April 10, April 30 and May 20, respectively. The ratios were not significantly different at April 10. But the ratios in seeding on April 30 and May 20 were reduced as the number of seedling stands was increased. The weight of stem base related to lodging was the highest with 2.01g/10 plants in the optimum seeding on April 30, while it was 1.59g/10 plants in the late seeding on May 20. It was also decreased as the number of seedling stands was increased. The dry weights at 30 days before the heading stage were increased at the later seeding, while the dry weight at the heading stage was the highest at seeding on April 30 which is considered as the adequate seeding time. The dry weights at 30 days before the heading stage were increased as the number of seedling stands was increased and they were increased up to 130 seedling stands per m2 at the heading stage. The length of panicle exsertion was shortened at the later seeding. The length of panicle exsertion was increased up to 130 seedling stands. but it was shorter at 170 seedling stands. The heading dates were later at seeding on April 30 and May 20 than at seeding on April 10. They were not remarkedly different among seeding dates at 50 seedling stands, it was earlier at the higher number of seedling stands over 90. The number of spikelets per panicle was decreased at the higher number of seedling stands. The ratio of ripened grains was higher at earlier seeding than at later seeding. It was not significantly different among the number of seedling stands at the same seeding time. Yields at seeding on April 30, April 10 and May 20 were 644, 624 and 551kg/10a, respectively. The seeding on April 30, the optimum seeding time, resulted the highest yield. Rice quality was decreased due to the increase of the green kerneled rice as the seeding date was delayed.

      • 지반과 앵커체의 탄성계수비 (E_(a)/E_(r))에 따른 앵커체 표면에서의 응력전이에 관한 수치해석

        Anchor is used for a restraining of a ground deformation in the retaining wall, slope-stability et ect. When pullout load is applied to the anchor in the ground, the behavior of the anchor in the ground is differed by the rigidity of anchor body and ground. In this study, the stress-behavior is analyzed by the numerical a analysis on the surface of an anchor body according to the pullout of an anchor. Mostly, The analysis is focused on the change of a shear stress according to the coefficient ratio of elasticity. The coefficient ratio of elasticity(E_(a)/E_(r)) is defined by the ratio between elastic modulus of ground(E_(r)) and that of anchor body (E_(a)). By using this ratio, the progressive failure of anchor body can be analysed. 앵커는 흙막이 벽, 사면안정 등에서 사용되는 지반변형 억제공법이다. 앵커가 지중에서 인발하중을 받으면 앵커체의 강성과 지반의 강성에 따라 각각 다른거동을 하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 인장형 및 압축형 앵커의 인발에 따른 표면에서의 응력거동을, 주로 탄성계수비에 따른 전단응력의 변화에 중점을 두고 수치해석 기법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 여기서, 탄성계수비(coefficient ratio of elasticity)란 지반탄성계수(E_(r))와 앵커체탄성계수(E_(a))의 비 (E_(a)/E_(r))를 말하는데, 이 탄성계수비에 의해 앵커의 진행성 파괴에 대한 영향을 평가할 수 있다.

      • 시설재배 작물의 적정 시비량 결정을 위한 간이 검정법

        토양의 질산태 질소 함량이 67㎎ ㎏-1에서 343 ㎎ ㎏-1의 분포를 갖는 8개 시설재배 토양에서 시비수준을 무비구와 표준시비구로 하여 오이의 생산력을 검정하고 토양 화학성과의 상호관계 및 회귀관계의 평가로부터 질소 적정 시비량 추천모델을 추정하였다. 토양의 질산태 질소 함량과 무비구 오이의 생체중, 비료효과 및 시비효율의 상호관계를 Cate & Nelson 분할법에 의하야 추정한 질소 시비의 상한기준은 280㎎ ㎏-1으로 추정되었다. 토양의 질산태 질소 수준에 따른 표준시비구의 생체중 변화의 관계로부터 토마토 질소 표준시비를 위한 질산태 질소 하한기준은 100㎎ ㎏-1으로 추정되었다. 따라서 상한기준과 하한기준 사이의 질산태 질소 검정에 의한 토마토, 오이, 배추의 질소 시비량 추천모델은 다음과 같이 개발하였다. 질소 표준시비량에 대한 비율 Y=-0.5556X +155.568. 재배기간이 장기간인 오이의 질소 덧거름 시비량 결정방법을 확립하기 위하여 ChlorophyⅡ meter (SPAD502, Minolta)를 활용한 엽록소 검정법을 검토하였다. 평가방법은 NO3-N 함량이 67∼343㎎ ㎏-1인 8개 토양에서 무비구 오이의 생체중과 경시적 엽위별 엽록소 측정치와의 회귀관계로부터 오이의 생산능력과 질소공급능력에 대한 엽록소 측정치의 기준을 추정하였다. 오이 재배기간 동안 엽위별 엽록소 측정치는 정식 후 39일째 13매 잎에서 최대를 보인 후 감소되었으며, 그 이후 오이의 엽록소 측정치는 토양의 질소 공급능력에 따라 현저한 차이를 나타냈다. 정식 후 39일째 13매엽의 엽록소 측정치는 토양의 질산태 질소, 무비구 오이의 생체중 및 질소 흡수량, 시비효율과 유의성 있는 상관관계를 보였다. 그리고 오이 최대 생체중에 대한 부족비율은 13매엽 엽록소 측정치와 유의성 있는 부의 상관을 보였으며 엽록소 최대치에 대한 부족비율과는 곡선적인 정의 상관을 보였다. 따라서 오이 최대 생체중에 대한 부족비율을 덧거름 요구량이라고 가정하면 13매엽의 엽록소 측정치는 덧거름의 사용시기와 기준을 결정할 수 있는 가능성을 보였다. 따라서 시설재배 오이의 밑거름은 질산태 질소의 토양검정에 의하여 결정하고 덧거름은 오이 정식 후 39일째 13매엽의 엽록소 측정으로 결정할 수 있는 종합적인 질소 시비추천 방안을 확립하였다.

      • 난류장의 특성과 예혼합 난류연소속도의 측정

        The turbulent burning velocity is the most important factor in the engine performance. The turbulent flame is strongly affected by turbulence field and mixture properties.In order to study the turbulent burning velocity, the characteristics of turbulence field was measured calculated. The combustion chamber used in this experiment was a constant. volume vessel having a ball-like inner space. In this study, laminar burning velocity, turbulence intensity and the spatial integral scale of turbulence were measured by the hot-wire anemometry and pressure transducer. The spatial integral scale of the turbulence was obtained by the two-point correltion method.
