        The improvements of the thin plate joint method are required because of the application of thin plate structures are diversified. The purpose of the investigation is to evaluate the applicability of the structural adhesive on the thin plate structures. This study is performed to evaluate how the jointing effects with oil are improved, compare with that of spot welding specimens after the tensile shear test under the various conditions of the specimen, which had the single lap joints by bonding and weldbonding for the structural jointing techniques.

      • 파밤나방 중장으로부터 cytochrome P450 4계열의 유전자 단편들의 클로닝

        Cytochrome P450 plays a most important role in metabolizing the exogous materials. In insect, P450 protein is related to metabolism of hormones and pheromes. But have been studied in most detail for their roles in insecticide resistance. In addition to this roles, P450-dependent metabolism has been associated with the adaptation of insect herbibores to host plant chemicals. Recently It is revealed that cytochrome P450 4 family gene is related to metabolism of host plant material. In this research, cloning of cytochrome P450 4 family gene fragments is carried out from monophagous insect (Bombyx mori), oligophagous insect(Helicoverpa assulta), and polyphagous insect (Spodoptera exigua), two conserved regions in the alignment of cytochrome P450 4 family proteins served as guide to the synthesis of degenerate oligonucleotide primers. The primers were used in RT-PCR from midgut and fat body total RNA. Five new genes of 440-449bp were cloned and sequence from spodoptera exigua midgut. Deduced amino acids had conserved regions which is contained in all cytochrome P450 (ΦΦKE-LR Φ-P : Φ, hadyrophobic amino acid) and another conserved region (PERF) and similar sequence Amino acid sequences of sample 1, 3 and 4 were shown to have 82%, 61%, and 73% identity with that of CYP 4M4, So, Sample 1, 3 and 4 were thought to belong to CYP 4M family, Protein sequence of sample 2 and 5 were shown to have 75% and 82% identity with that of 4S1 and 4S2 So, Sample 2 and 5 were thought to belong to CYP 4S family

        The prediction of the tooth size in the mixed dentition for Korean

        이번 연구의 목적은 혼합치열기 아동에서 미맹출된 견치와 소구치의 크기를 예측하는데 있어서 한국인에 맞는 방정식을 만들기 위함이다. 미맹출 치아의 크기를 예측하는 것은 혼합치열기 교정 진단과 치료계획 수립에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 미맹출된 견치와 소구치 크기를 예측하는 방법은 몇가지가 있지만 그중에서도 가장 흔하게 쓰이는 것이 모이어의 예측표와 다나카와 존스턴의 방정식이 있다. 하지만 그것들은 백인을 위해서 제작된 것이고 치아 크기는 인종에 따라서 다르다고 알려져 있다. 이번 연구에서는 치아크기를 측정하여 하악 영구 절치의 크기 합과 견치 및 소구치의 크기 합 사이의 상관관계를 구하고 회귀방정식을 이용해서 한국인에 맞는 예측표를 만들었다. 연세대학교 치과대학에 재학중인 178명의 한국 학생(남 108명, 여 70명, 평균연령 21.63)을 대상으로 실험하였다. 영구치의 근원심 폭경을 석고모형상에서 calipers를 이용해서 측정하였다. 성별간의 치아 크기는 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). Correlation coefficient는 0.57에서 0.64의 범위였고, standard errors of the estimates 는 여성에서 0.6으로써 남성보다 우수하였다. r^(2)값은 0.27에서 0.41의 범위를 나타내었다. Estimating the size of unerupted teeth is an essential aspect of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning in the mixed dentition. Several methods were introduced and used for the prediction. The most common methods among these would be Moyers probability chart and Tanaka and Johnston equations. These are currently used widely, but they were developed for Caucasians. Because there are clear racial differences in teeth size, the objectives of this study were to produce correlation coefficients between the combined mesiodistal widths of the permanent mandibular incisors and those of the canines and premolars for each quadrant, and prediction tables with regression equations, specifically for Korean. 178 young adults (70 women, 108 men, mean age 21.63 years) were selected from the College of Dentistry, Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. The mesiodistal crown diameters of the permanent teeth were measured with calipers. Significant sexual dimorphism was found in tooth sizes. The correlation coefficients between the total mesiodistal width of the mandibular permanent incisors and those of the maxillary and mandibular canines and premolars were found to be between 0.52 and 0.64. The standard error of the estimatation was better (0.60) for women and the r^(2) values ranged from 0.27 to 0.41 for both sexes, Prediction tables were prepared for Korean. This study showed larger canine and premolar diameters than Tanaka and Johnston's and Moyers' studies which might be due to the racial differences. Further investigations with a larger sample size will be needed for more representative data on the Korean population.

The experimental methods such as Morie, Photoelasticity, holography and caustics are primarily used by many researchers. In this paper, as the first step to develop the experimental method of caustics in bi-materials, the initial and caustic curve equations are established by introducing the existing stress component equations to the equation of the formation of Caustics and made the program for the generation of caustics in computer.

      • 히스토아크릴을 이용한 십이지장 궤양 출혈의 지혈 후 발생한 급성췌장염

        Upper gastrointestinal bleeding is common and potentially life threatening medical emergency. Emergency endoscopy is the first choice of diagnostic and treatment measure for patients with active upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Histoacryl should be considered a second-line treatment modality when conventional treatments were failed. However, it might cause several complications. Herein, we report a case of acute pancreatitis developed after histoacryl injection therapy for active duodenal ulcer bleeding. A 71-year-old man was admitted with melena and hematemesis. On emergency endoscopy, a 2 cm sized active ulcer with bleeding from an exposedvessel was seen at the duodenal bulb. Attempts to arrest the bleeding with hemoclipping and submucosal epinephrine injection were tried, but failed. We changed the method to endoscopic histoacryl injection, and obtained hemostasis immediately. A few hourslater, after successful hemostasis, patient complained diffuse abdominal pain. Ultrasonography revealed hyperechoic heterogenous diffuse pancreatic enlargement and right pararenal space fluid collection, this ultrasonographic findings and elevated serum pancreatic enzymes are compatible with acute pancreatitis.

      • 제주산 왕노랑 초파리(Drosophila immigrans)에서 Heat Shock Proteins(hsps)의 발현양상에 관한 연구

        제주산 왕노랑 초파리(Drosophila immigrans)의 유충조직과 성체에서 heat shock proteins(hsps)의 별현양상을 연구하였다. 1. 왕노랑 초파리에서 hsps의 합성은 33℃의 온열처리로 가장 왕성하게 유도되었다. 2. 온열처리로 유도된 hsps는 크게 3개의 그룹, 즉 hsp80, hsp70, 그리고 분자량이 작은 hsps 그룹(hsp27, hsp26, hsp23, hsp22) 등이 검출되었다. 3. Hsps의 합성은 10분간의 온열처리로 유도되기 시작하여, 30분 동안의 온열처리에서 가장 왕성하였다. 4. 유충의 각 조직에서의 hsps의 합성 양상은 매우 유사하였고, 특히 hsp23은 온열처리를 하지 않은 정상발생조건에서도 합성되었다. 5. 분자량이 작은 그룹의 hsps는 성체의 노화과정에 따라서 다른 발현 양상을 보이므로 이들은 직·간접적으로 노화과정과 연관이 있을 것으로 추정된다. The expression patterns of heat shock proteins(hsps) were studied in the larval tissues and adults of Drosophila immigrans. 1. The synthesis of hsps in Drosophila immigrans was induced the most strongly in response to heat shock of 33℃. 2. The hsps induced by heat shock were divided largely into three groups, namely hsp83, hsp70, and small molecular weight group(hsp27, hsp26, hsp23, and hsp22) according to their molecular weights. 3. The induction of hsps was first detected at the heat shock during 10 min, was the most active at the heat shock during 30 min. 4. The patterns of hsps synthesis in various larval tissues were very similar to each other, especially hsp23 was synthesized during normal development without heat shock. 5. Since the expression patterns of small molecular weight hsps(hsp27, hsp26, hsp23, hsp22) were remarkably different according to aging process of adults, these hsps may be involved in aging process.

      • 行列多項式 Liapunov 函數 構成에 依한 誘導電動機의 安定度 解析

        非線形 시스템을 나타내는 狀態空間의 動特性 모델로부터, 定常狀態 값들이 알려지면, 行列多項式에 依해, Scalar Type의 Liapunov 函數를 構成하고 이를 誘導電動機의 安定解析에 適用시킨다. 線形 시스템에 對한 Liapunov 函數의 構成法은 잘 알려져 있으나, 非線形 시스템의 Liapunov 函數 構成法은 아직 體系化되어 있지 못하다. 따라서, 本 論文에서는, 從來의 定常狀態 附近에서의 Taylor 展開에 依한 線形化 技法에 依存하지 않고, 非線形性을 나타내는 項을 分離하여, 行列變換시킴으로서, 線形시스템의 Liapunov 函數 構成法을 살리고, 非線形性이 强한 誘導電動機의 狀態空間모델에 適用시켰다. 그 結果, 求해진 安定領域은, 線形化에 依한 것보다는 훨씬 넓은 5次元의 超空間으로 表現되는 誘導電動機의 漸近安定領域이 되었다. In this paper, when the steady state values for multidimensional and nonlinear Dynamic Models of State Space Representations are given, Liapunov functions of scalar types using matrix quadratic polynomials are constructed by Special Matrix Transformation Techniques and are applied to Stability Analysis of Induction Motors. Futhermore, Liapunov function construction precedures for linear systems can be specified in detail. But, unfortunately, for nonlinear systems, there are no the complete construction techniques. In this paper, differently from conventional methods using Linearization obtained from Taylor series expansions about steady state operating points. Linear terms and nonlinear ones are individually seperated, and by special matrix transformation techniques, similiar construction procedurs such as in the cases of linear systems, are introduced, and are applied to Stability Analysis of Induction Motor. The hyperspaces of multidimensional stability region, obtained from these techniques, were larger than the obtained ones from conventional linearlization techniques about equilibrium points and were assured to be Asymptotic Stability Region ensuring the stable operation of Induction Motor.

        폐렴 구균(Streptococcus pneumoniae)에 의한 척수 경막외 농양 1예

        폐렴구균은 보통 폐렴이나 뇌막염을 일으키는 균으로 척수 경막외 농양을 일으키는 경우는 매우 드물다. 본 저자들은 폐렴 구균에 의한 척수 경막 외 농양을 경험하여 보고하는 바이다. 과거 건강했던 36세 남자 환자로 사다리에서 낙상한 후 요통 및 고열, 신경학적 이상으로 내원하여 자기 공명 촬영 결과 척수 경막 외 농양으로 진단받고 항균제 투여와 함께 응급 수술을 시행하였다. 농 배양 결과 페니실린 감수성인 폐렴 구균이 분리 되었고, 수술 요법과 항생제 투여 후 농양은 치유되었으나 신경학적 이상은 호전 없는 상태로 타원으로 전원되었다. Pneumonia and meningitis are the most frequent manifestations of pneumococcal infections. Pneumococcal spinal epidural abscesses have been rarely reported. Spinal epidural abscess by Streptococcus pneumoniae has been diagnosed among the patients with diabetes mellitus, alcoholism, corticosteroid therapy, intravenous drug use, chronic renal failure, AIDS, and history of spinal surgery. Recently, we experienced a case of pneumococcal spinal epidural abscess after spinal trauma. A 36-year-old male patient was admitted with back pain, fever, and paraplegia which occurred 5 days after the trauma. Spine MRI revealed spinal epidural abscess at the level from T2 to T9. He was treated with antimicrobial agents and surgical exploration for spinal epidural abscess. Pus culture grew S. pneumoniae which was susceptible to penicillin. Despite early surgical treatment, neurologic sequelae remained. Considering the high mortality and morbidity of pneumococcal spinal epidural abscess, early diagnosis and aggressive treatment including surgical intervention and antibiotics therapy should be implemented immediately.

      • 수술중 기계적 환기시 HME (Heat and Moisture Exchanger)가 기도저항에 미치는 영향

        To compare the airway resistance effects of two heat and moisture exchangers(HME) during short-term intraoperative volume controlled mechanical ventilation. Following a randomized order, the patients were ventilated during 3hrs with two HMEs(Pall conserve and Humi-vent filter). In each patient and for each 5 min, lhr, 2hrs and 3 hrs period, body temperature and airway resistance were measured. The hydrophobic HME (Pall conserve) had a good theraml conservation capacity, but increase airway resistance(11.7±2.9cm H_2O/1/s to 15 4±3.4 after lhr, to 17.3±2.5 after 2hrs, to 17.5±3.3cm H_2O/l/s after 3hrs). The hygroscopic filter(Humi-vent filter) had a good thermal conservation capacity, and less increase airway restance than Pall conserve(13.0±2.3 to 15. 4±3.4. after 1hr, 15.9±2.5 after 2hrs, 15.0±3.3 cmH2O/I/s after 3hrs). The hygroscopic HME had a thermal and humidification capacity and less increase the airway resistance.
