A Study on the Effect that Decision-Making Factors and Firm's Characteristic Factors Influences on Investment Strategy Applicable to Korean Firm's FDI in China Song, Jae-Hoon*This article, using the J.H.Dunning's Eclectic Theory(OLI model), identifies the decision-making factors and firm's characteristic factors that explain Korean firms' FDI activities in China from 1988 to 2002. Section "Ⅰ" offers data on Korean firms' FDI activities in China for each year between to 1988 and 2002 and in aggregate for that period : the number of FDI, their dollar value, preferred geographical location, targeted industries, and degree of equity of ownership. Section "Ⅱ", using the J.H.Dunning's model, identifies the characteristics of Korean firms investing in China, their motivation for doing so, and the decision-making factors and firm's characteristic factors guiding their FDI decisions.攀* Associate Professor Division of Distribution & Trade, Woosuk Univresity.攀攀The primary motivations for FDI by Korean firms in China are the availability of lower labor cost and the attraction of a rapidly growing market. This research also found that the FDI pattern is increasingly changing from investment in labor-intencive, low technology industry to high technology, capital-intencive industries. As per this study, decision-making factors of importance are ownership- specific and location-specific advantages. Internalization-incentive advantages are not applicable to Korean firms' investment decisions.
A successful therapy of community-acquired pneumonia requires appropriate empirical antimicrobial therapy. Etiology and antimicrobial susceptibility of major pathogens of pneumonia can differ by country. Therefore, an ideal treatment guideline of community-acquired pneumonia should be based on the studies performed in each country. We developed a treatment guideline for community-acquired pneumonia in immunocompetent adults in Korea. This guideline was developed by the joint committee of the Korean Society for Chemotherapy, the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases, and the Korean Academy of Tuberculosis and Respiratory diseases.
