New gold colloidal film sensor chips were employed to enhance the sensitivity of the Surface Plasmon Resonce (SPR). Au collodal solutions were synthesized, and Au colloidal films were fabricated by immobilization of colloid on vacuum deposited Au film through the coupling agent of 1,8-diaminooctane. Specific interaction of human IgG antibody to human antigen was monitored by in situ SPR measurement from both a smooth and a Au colloidal films. Au colloidal film sensor chips resulted in 27 % enhancements effect for the same reaction on SPR angle shifts compared to a smooth Au film.

高爐 Slag을 利用한 콘크리트의 凍結融解에 의한 耐久性에 對한 硏究

It's getting more and more difficult to purchase riveraggregates of high-quality, as the-number of concrete projects are increasing tremendously in recent years. Thus, various artificial stones, or blastfurnace slags, instead of river aggregates, should be utilized as a ggregates for those building projects in the coming years. Blastfurnace slags are by-products, which are made in the progess of manufacturing pig-iron, and Korea has an annual production production capacity of blastfurnace-slags amount ing to 3million tons. In our research, we have reviewed the utilization effect of the blastfurnace slags by way of studying its durability and compressibility, in case they were used in concrete projects. As a result of such a research, we have come to a conclusion that the durability of blastfurnace-slage can be improved by adding AE, because that of ordinary slag concrete is relatively poor. In particular, we have also found that the compressibility of slag-concrete which used super-plasticizer turned out to be more than 500㎏/㎠, thus enabling the manufacturing of concrete whose durability is excellent.

For the initial step of quality assurance program for the reading of pneumoconiosis, we developed 85 simple chest P-A films by stepwise panel readings of 8 highly qualified radiologists. Intra-reader reliability(overall kappa value) for the pneumoconiotic findings of 76 films except films for differential diagnosis by 6 radiologists participating in the panel readings was as follows: 0.44 and 0.73 in profusion by complete and short classification, 0.45 and 0.40 in primary and secondary small opacity, 0.62 in extent of small opacity, 0.67 and 0.22 in costophrenic angle(CPA) obliteration and diffuse pleural thickening(DPT). Interreader reliability was as follows: 0.40 and 0.67 in profusion by complete and short classification, 0.48 and 0.43 in primary and secondary small opacity, 0.54 in extent of small opacity, 0.60 and 0.30 in CPA obliteration and DPT. Pneumoconiotic findings of the 44 films selected from the above 76 films were compared with those of 39 radiologists working in agencies for specific health screening, agency for pneumoconiosis, and other university hospitals. According to the category, profusion(excluding 0/0 category) agreed completely in 10-40% of the corresponding small opacity and 55-80% of the large opacity by complete classification. Within 1 minor category 55.85% of films agreed. By short classification it agreed in 50-80% and 91.2% of small and large opacity respectively. Shape and size of primary and secondary small opacity agreed completely in 41.0% and 23.2%, and extent of small opacity agreed in 47.9%. Only in the films read as pneumoconiosi by readers, 51.3% and 29.8% of primary and secondary small opacity agreed in shape and size, and 60.4% in extent. In CPA obliteration and DPT, 81.8% and 78.3% of the corresponding films agreed respectively. Considering the above results, it is necessary to develop educational and quality assurance program for increase of reading agreement.

각종 소화성질환에서의 Campylobacter Pylori의 검출에 관하여

Peptic disorders are among the most common maladies in korea as the world. In most cases their etiologies not be established and their pathophysioolgy remain obscure. Although the persence of fastric bacteria has been logn established, recently campylobacter pylori seems to be etiologic agent of peptic disorders. Campylobacter pylori is visualized in most cases of peptic disorders and not visualized after treatment of bctericidal agents, bismuth compound or metronidazole. We had a following results for identification of campylocacter pylori in stomach and duodenal mcuosa via endoscipc biopsy. 1. We studied 54 patients who had dyspeptic symptoms, 29 males. 2. Most patients are in 5th decades, next in 3rd and 6th in order. 3. Ptients were composed of 27 peptic ulcer, 22 gastitis and 5 gastric carcinoma. 4. Campylobacter pylori was identified in 69% of total patients, peptic ulcer 63%, gastritis 77%, stomach carcinoma leastly.

개에 발생한 만성 승모판폐쇄부전증에 대한 Pimobendan 치료 1례

A 11-year-old intact male maltese dog with respiratory distress, cyanosis and coughing was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. Loud holosystolic murmur with a palpable precordial thrill was heard at the left apex region by auscultation. Left sided cardiac enlargement and mitral regurgitated flow were detected by thoracic radiography and echocardiography, respectively. Clinical signs were improved by treatment of diuretics, ACE inhibitor and pimobendan.

宮南址 出土 水浸木材 保存에 대한 硏究

충남 부여군 궁남지에서 출토 수침목재(waterlogged wood)의 가장 안정화된 보존처리를 위하여 현재 국내에서 일반적으로 사용하는 PEG함침법, Sorbitol, Sucrose 방법을 이용하여 가장 이상적인 보존처리 방법으로 유물의 손실을 막는 방법을 연구하였다. 본 연구의 실험에서 중량 변화와 수축을, 그리고 처리 후 내부조직 및 색변화와 습도변화에 따른 중량 및 수축 변화를 비교 검토해 본 결과 상호간에 아주 밀접한 관계가 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 각 drug에 따른 중량변화는 PEG, Sucrose는 10%에서 약간의 중량 증가를 보이는 반면, 가장 높은 수축을 나타내었다. 또한 약품침투 및 퇴적이 급격히 증가하는 처리농도 30%부터 50%까지 중량은 급격히 증가하고 수축은 감소를 보이며 약품침투 및 퇴적에 의한 표변 및 내부조직의 변화를 관찰 할 수 있었다. 그리고 분자량이 낮아 약품침투 및 퇴적이 용이한 Sucrose나 Sorbitol가 고분자량의 PEG에 비해 중량변화가 높음을 알 수 있었다. For the most stable conservation on waterlogged wood excavated at Kungnamji in Buyeo, Chungnam, the method which prevents the damage of remains is studied with the most ideal conservation method by using the methods of PEG treatment, Sorbitol and Sucrose which are commonly applied in the country nowadays. In the experiment on this study, comparison and investigation to changing of weight and constricted, inner structure and color changing after the treatment, and changing of weight and constricted according to the changing humidity proves that they are closely and mutually connected. In the sense of changing of weight by each drug, PEG and Sucrose shows a little weight increase at 10% but indicates the highest constricted. Also, at the treatment consistency from 30% to 50% which drug permeation and accumulation increases rapidly, weight increases rapidly, deflation rate falls off and changing of inner structure and surface by drug permeation and accumulation is observed. And changing of weight is higher for Sucrose and Sorbitol, which drug permeation and accumulation is ease because of low molecular weight than PEG which has high molecular weight.

남자 고등학교 세팍타크로 경기의 공격기술에 관한 분석 연구

This research aims at analysis of attack technique in sepaktakraw games. For this purpose, 3 high school coaches observed and recorded each game Five times in videos of high school male players' thirty games in 2003. The conclusion from the analysis of the recorded data are as follows. 1. Scissors spike was the most popular (favorite) attack technique. Rolling spike, tapping spike and heading spike was popular in order. 2. Heading spike showed the highest success rate (73.5%) in attack technique. And tapping spike (69.5%), scissors spike (57.8%) and rolling spike (67.11) showed a lower success rate in order. In failure rate, heading spike (5.5%), tapping spike (36.5%), scissors spike (32.2%) and rolling spike (32.9%) had a higher percentage in order. 3. When receive was stable, the success rate in attach technique was 47.1%, the failure rate was 20.1%. On the other hand, when receive was unstable, the success rate in attach technique was 16.5%, the failure rate was 14.3%.

신부전이 동반된 당뇨병 환자에서 발생된 침습성 모균증 : 수술과 Liposomal amphotericin B 및 GM-CSF 병합 요법에 의한 성공적인 치험 1예

저자들은 신부전이 동반된 당뇨병 환자에서 발생된 부비동형 모균증에 대하여 수술과 함께 liposomal amphotericin B 및 GM-CSF의 복합치료를 하여 성공적으로 치료한 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Mucormycosis (zygomycosis) primarily affects diabetic or immunocompromised patients and typically progresses rapidly, necessitating surgical excision and antifungal therapy with amphotericin B. Large doses of amphotericin B are needed for cure, but it has the risk of causing significant renal toxicity. The recent development of liposomal amphotericin B allows antifungal therapy to be administered with potentially improved efficacy and reduced nephrotoxicity. We have experienced a case of paranasal mucormycosis successfully treated with surgery, liposomal amphotericin B and GM-CSF. A 59-year-old male suffering from diabetes mellitus for 6 years was admitted with pain at left maxillary area. He was diagnosed as mucormycosis after cytologic exam on the necrotic nasal mucosa, which showed typical hyphae. He have had diabetic nephropathy with macroproteinuria and had rapidly rising serum creatinine levels with the amphotericin B treatment: creatinine levels reverted to basal level with the use of liposomal amphotericin B. Despite surgical excision and continued antifungal therapy, his infection was not effectively controlled. Therefore, GM-CSF was administered additionally to improve phagocytic activity of leukocytes. He was finally cured after receiving a combination of aggressive surgery, liposomal amphotericin B and GM-CSF. To our knowledge, this is the first detailed clinical description of the treatment of mucormycosis with liposomal amphotericin B in Korea.
