        Under the pressure to open the service market as proposed by World Trade Organization, we can easily expect our educational systems for allied health professions will experience a lot of changes in near future. Accordingly, we compared our current educational systems for allied health professions with the foreign ones and mapped out some strategies predicting the forthcoming enormous changes. Major investigations and analysis are summed up as follows, The educational programs for allied health professions which was started in 1963 in Korea are stilled remained as 2 to 3 school years, while the systems in advanced countries have already been changed or been changing from 2 year to 4 year college levels. We can hardly find the uniform educational system or school years for the allied health professions in the world except for Korea. Fortunately, university level four-year programs for the profession was established in 1979 in Won-joo for the first time in Korea. However, there are still only few four-year programs in this country. To meet the rapidly changing needs we have faced in the health areas we should supply appropriate health personnel through various efforts. Now we would like to suggest followings, <Educational goals for the allied health professions> 1) reconfirming characteristics for the educational goals of health professions 2) extending school years for the allied health professions 3) strengthening clinical training and internship 4) expanding opportunities for the continuing education through lifelong education 5) upgrading from old-fashioned technologies to advanced technologies 6) cultivating competencies of health professionals for the global competition <Suggestions for the Development of Allied Health Professions> 1) reforming the school years of educational programs for the allied health professions to meet the global standards 2) expanding the role of junior college programs for the allied health professions through the development of intensive courses in the professions. 3) diversifying and specializing the allied health professions mainly through 4 year B.S. degree programs.

        Fusobacterium nucleatum의 테트라사이클린 내성여부를 검사하기 위한 세균배양법과 중합효소연쇄반응법의 비교

        The purposes of this study were to identify the detection and incidence of tetracycline resistance determinant tet(M) by PCR method and to evaluate the availability of PCR method guided for clinical use of antibiotics in dentistry. Subgingival plaque samples were collected from 172 sites of 29 patients. Both original sample and subculturd sample, PCR amplification was used to detect tet(M) in Fusobacterium nucleatum. The percentage of tet(M)-positive subjects and sites in original samples were 100%, 95.9%, respectively. And the percentage of tet(M)-positive subjects and sites in subcultured samples were 17.2%, 3.5%, respectively. In subcultured samples, probing pocket depth and clinical attachment level in tet(M)-positive sites were higher than in negative sites (p<0.05). The sensitivity and specificity of PCR method compared with broth dilution method as a gold standard were 0.91 and 0.86, respectively. The results suggested that tet(M) assay using PCR method was available to detect the tetracycline-resistant F. nucleatum.

      • 리니어 모터로 이송되는 탄성체의 진동 최소화를 위한 이송속도 최적화 연구

        Linear motor feed drive systems have been broadly used in machine tools or precision automatic systems. Recently, modern machine tools require high speed and high precision feed drive system to achieve high productivity. Unfortunately, a feed drive system, even though it was designed optimally, may experience severe transient vibrations during high-speed operation if its feed rate control is unsuitable. A rough feed rate curve having discontinuity in its acceleration profile causes serious vibrations in the feed slides system. This paper presents a feed rate optimization of a machine tool feed slide system, which is driven by a linear motor, for its minimum vibrations. Firstly, a 4-degree-of-freedom lumped parameter model is proposed for the vibration analysis of a linear motor driven machine tool feed drive system. Next, a feed rate optimization of the feed slide is carried out for minimum vibrations. The feed rate curve optimization strategy is to find out the most appropriate acceleration profile with jerk continuity. Of course, the optimized feed rate should approximate to the desired one as possible. A genetic algorithm with variable penalty function was used in this feed rate optimization.

        형상기억복합재료의 제조공정 및 신뢰성 평가

        형상기억복합재료는 복합재료내에 압축잔류응력을 발생시킴으로써 재료의 인장강도를 증가시키는데 사용되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 형상기억복합재료를 제조하기 위하여 TiNi 강화재와 A16061 기지재를 사요하였으며 핫프레스 방법에 의해 TiNi/A16061 형상기억복합재료를 제조하였다. 그러나 핫 프레스 방법에 의해 제조된 형상기억복합재료는 하중을 받을시 강화재와 기지재 사이에 계면손상현상이 발생하였으며 이를 위하여 냉간압연을 실시하였다. 냉간압연을 받은 시험편은 냉간압연을 받지 않은 시험편에 비하여 인장강도가 현저히 증가하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 고온에서 형상기억복합재료의 미시적 손상을 평가하기 위하여 음향방출기법을 이용하였다. Shape memory alloy has been used to improve the tensile strength of composite by the occurrence of compressive residual stress in matrix using its shape memory effect. In order to fabricate shape memory alloy composite, TiNi alloy and Al6061 were used as reinforcing material and matrix, respectively. In this study, TiNi/Al6061 shape memory alloy composite was made by using hot press method. However, the specimen fabricated by this method had the bonding problem at the boundary between TiNi fiber and Al matrix when the load was applied to it. A cold rolling was imposed to the specimen to improve the bonding effect. It was found that tensile strength of specimen subjected to cold rolling was more increased than that of specimen which did not underwent cold rolling. In addition, acoustic emission technique was used to quantify the microscopic damage behavior of cold rolled TiNi/Al6061 shape memory alloy composite at high temperature.

      • 柴胡가 free radical에 의한 脂質過酸化物 生成에 미치는 效果

        Antioxidant effects of aqueous Siho extract on lipid peroxidation were determined by TBA value and also by lipid peroxidation value during the autoxidation of Iinoleic acid. Siho extracts exhibited markedly antioxidant aCtivity, which inhibited 99% of linoleic acid peroxidation. And Siho extracts showed 42% scavenging effect on α,α-dlphenyl-β-pjcrylhydrazyl radical, also exhibited a 60-94% inhibitory effect on superoxide generation. Siho extracts dose-dependently protected the cell death induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP) and significantly increased cell viability In the normal rat liver cell(Ac2F) . These results suggested that Siho might play a protective role in lipid peroxidation by free radicals. Key Words: lipid peroxidation ; Siho extracts; scavenging effect

      • 사구체 수의 증감을 비교할 수 있는 기준 개발

        Background: The number of glomerulus has been considered one of the etiologic factors especially for focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. However, glomeruli are too many to calculate them correctly. Although the fractionator method has became convinced, in which they used selected sections, not whole kidney sections, with same intervals, it is also very hard to get good results. Because it is still very time-consuming and laborous work which leads to make big observers' biases. Methods and Materials: We designed the index for glomerular number to estimate the tendency of increase or decrease of the number of it in different kidneys and which was evaluated by other conventional methods including fractionator method. Index was based upon the theory by Nyengaard; "the number of glomerulus correlates with the weight of kidney, which is positively correlated with body weight". Calculating formula is the number of glomeruli/surface areas of cortices, which contain calculacted glomeruli multiplies by kidney weight/body weight. Results: We applied this index to kidneys of FGSKist mouse and those of RFM/Nga mouse. The former is spontaneous glomerulosclerosis model with heavy protein uria and renal faille and the latter is the mother side of FGS/Kist mouse but has no glomerular disease or protein aria. The number of glomerulus of FGS/Kist mouse was decreased by 30% to those of RFM/Nga mouse. Conclusion: This index was useful and reliable for estimating the relative glomerular number between two groups.

      • 참치 뼈를 이용한 Hydroxyapatite 세라믹 복합체의 합성 및 생체 친화성(제3보) : 인공체액에서의 Hydroxyapatite 세라믹 복합체간의 결합의 전자현미경 관찰 SEM Photographs of Bonding Properties between Hydroxyapatite Ceramics Composites in the Simulated Body Fluid

        참치 뼈에서 추출한 hydroxyapatite를 출발물질로 여러 가지 세라믹 복합체를 제조하여 인공체액에서의 hydroxyapatite 복합체간의 화학결합을 조사하였다. hydroxyapatite 복합체들은 인공체액에서 4주 후부터 화학 결합성질을 나타내었다. 결합강도는 bioglass가 가장 강하게 나타났으며, 조성에 따른 의존성은 관찰할 수 없었다. 인공체액에서 복합체들은 이들의 경계면에서 불균일 핵생성 및 성장에 의해 화학적 결합으로 이루어졌다. Chemical bonding was investigated in the simulated body fluid of several selected hydroxyapatite-containing composites. The hydroxyapatite-containing composites chemically bonded with each other in the simulated body fluid after 4 weeks. Bioglass was strongly bonded in the simulated body fluid, but bonding strength was not depended on composition. Their composite bodies were chemically bonded by heterogeneous nucleation and growth at the interfaces of the specimens in the simulated body fluid.

        직업적인 납 노출이 없는 일부 중년 한국인의 골중납량 및 혈중납량

        목적: 우리나라에서 납에 직업적으로 노출되지 않은 일부 중년 성인들의 골중납량과 혈중납량의 수준과 상호관련성을 알아보기 위하여 40세 이상 남자 86명 여자 51명 총 137명을 대상으로 본 연구를 시도하였다. 방법: 연구변수로 골중납량인 경골납량,혈중납량을 택하였다. 경골납량은 K-shell XRF를 이용하여 각 대상 자들을 30분간 측정하였고,혈중납량은 원자흡광광도계법으로 분석하였다. 결과: 총대상자 137명의 경골납량의 평균±표준편차는 3.49±4.99 μg/g이었으며, 남자와 여자는 각각 3.90± 4.88 μg/g 및 2.80±5.14 μg/g이었으나 양군 평균의 통계적 차이는 없었다. 한편 총대상자 137명의 혈중납량의 평균±표준편차는 3.70±1.35 μg/dl이었으며,남자와 여자는 각각 3.93±1.25 μg/dl 및 3.30±1.42 μg/dl이었으나 양군 평균의 통계적 차이는 없었다. 음주,흡연 및 BMI를 통제한 후 혈중납량을 종속변수로 한 중 회귀분석에서 연령은 양의 영향을 주는 변수로 나타났다. 여자대상자만을 대상으로 한 중 회귀분석에서 교란변수를 통제한 후 연령은 경골납량에 경계수준의 양의영향을 나타내었다. 결론: 40세 이상의 우리나라 중년성인의 경골납량의 평균±표준편차는 3.49±4.99 μg/g이었으며,혈중납량의 평균±표준편차는 3.70±1.35 μg/dl이었다 혈중납량은 연령과 성과 유의한 양의 관련성이 있었으나,골중납량은 여자에서만 연령과 경계수준의 유의한 관련을 나타냈다. Objectives: In order to investigate the level and the association between bone lead and blood lead levels of non-occupationally, lead-exposed Koreans, the authors studied the lead biomarkers of 137 middle aged Koreans (86 males and 51 females) older than whose age were above 40 years. Methods: The tibia lead level was selected as the bone lead indicator of cortical bone, and the blood lead level was also measured. The tibia lead level was measured by K-shell XRF with 30-minute measurement of each subjects. The blood lead level was analyzed by AAS method. Results: The mean (SD) of the tibia lead level of the 137 study subjects was 3.49 (4.99) ,㎍/g, and tended to be higher. The mean (SD) of tibia lead level in male subjects (was 3.90 (4.88) ㎍/g) and larger than in that of female subjects (2.80 (5.14) ㎍/g), but without no statistical significance was observed. The mean (SD) of blood lead level of all total subjects was 3.70 (1.35) ,㎍/dl, and tended to be higher. The mean (SD) of blood lead level in male subjects (was 3.93 (1.25) ㎍/dl) and larger than in that of female subjects (3.30 (1.42) ㎍/dl), but without no statistical significance was observed. In multiple regression analysis of blood lead levels after adjusting for covariates, age was a significant independent variable. A weak association of age with tibia lead in female subjects was also observed in multiple regression analysis. Conclusion: The mean (SD) of tibia and blood lead levels of middle aged Koreans whose ages were over 40 years old were 3.49 (4.99) ㎍/g and 3.70 (1.35) ㎍/dl, respectively. Age and sex were positive predictors of blood lead level in multiple regression analysis after controlling for the covariates. However, in multiple regression analysis whereas age was weakly association with tibia lead level only in female subjects in multiple regression analysis.

      • 패각류를 함유한 해사 사용 철근콘크리트의 강도특성 및 전단에 관한 실험적 연구

        This study makes experimental specimen to examine durability of concrete and structural characteristics of reinforced concrete beams such as shear behavior and destruction according to contents of shells in concrete using sea sand containing river sand and shells (8%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%) and age. evaluates its load, deflection, crack and destruction from load increase and ductility capacity and aims a t supplying the data for applying it to actual structures. The results obtained through material test of concrete and static experiment of members using sea sand containing river sand and shells are as follows; 1. As a result of strength test by shell contents, it is found that compressive strength of specimen using sea sand containing 8% of shells is highest and the more shell contents are, its compressive strength is reduced. 2. The compressive-strength of the specimen used sea sand contained shell by 8% was decreased by 7.8% in the specimen of aged 28 days and 4% in one of aged 365 days compared with the river sand one. 3. In the destruction aspect of shear experiment, the early crack was load 4.94∼21.8lkgf/㎠, yield load 26.17∼37.95kgf/㎠, maximum load 37.95∼53.42 kgf/㎠. 4. In shear test of reinforced concrete beam, it is found that specimen using sea sand containing shells has lower ductility capacity than the specimen using river sand and the more shell contents are, crack is occurred in low load and velocity of deflection of members is faster.
