$\alpha$-Chymotrypsin 을 이용한 Kyotorphin 유도체의 합성

In order to obtain the basic data for synthetic studies of bioactive peptide using enzyme, Kyotorphin(analgesic peptide) derivative was synthesized from Ac-Tyr-OH and $Arg-NH_2$ by $\alpha-chymotrysin$ in two phase system(organic phase and aqueous phase). In effect of organic solvent on Kyotorphin derivative synthesis from Ac-Tyr-OH(10 mM) and $Arg-NH_2$ (20 mM), the synthesis in ethyl acetate system of organic solvents was higher than those in other organic solvents (n-butanol, n-hexane, dichloromethane and chloroform). The optimal conditions for the synthesis are as follows: enzyme conc., 10 ${\mu}M;$ reaction pH, 7.0; reaction temp., $35^{\circ}C$ ; the ratio of organic phase volume/aqueous phase volume $(\alpha)$, 15. Under the optimal conditions, the yield was 70.2%, and the reaction achieved to equilibrium after 24 hrs.

This paper explores the struggles women face in becoming citizen-subjects in Elizabeth Bowen’s The Heat of the Day. Set against the backdrop of post-independence Ireland and the looming threat of World War II, the novel follows Anglo-Irish protagonist Stella Rodney as she navigates conflicting allegiances between nation and love. Blackmailed by a British intelligence agent who accuses her lover of espionage, Stella is forced into a dilemma where personal and civic loyalties conflict. Confronted with this double bind of consent, she must choose between her loyalty to her country and her love for her partner. By depicting a woman caught between civic duty and private freedom, the novel challenges the traditional notion of public/private sphere and envisions a woman as a citizen-subject capable of embodying both. Drawing on Carole Pateman’s analysis of the public/private sphere, which exposes the fundamental link between the modern social contract and paternalism, this paper examines how women attain civic status through the exchange of their private freedoms. By doing so, the study investigates how gender mediates individuals’ engagement with society, revealing the ways in which the notion of public/private sphere has served to conceal power dynamics within the private realm and its aspect of sexual transaction.
니파팜, 몰로키아, 핑거루트 추출물의 화장품 소재로서의 기능적 특성 분석

This study was conducted to evaluate the applicability of the extracts from nipa palm, molokhia, and finger root in functional cosmetics as a natural active ingredient. The extracts were obtained through the processes of heating under reflux with ethanol, filtration, concentration, and freeze-drying. UV absorption and blocking effects of the extracts were examined by using the UV-vis spectrophotometer equipped with an integrating sphere. Antioxidant activity and its stability between the extracts were compared using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay. Also, total polyphenol content in the extracts was determined quantitatively using the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent, with gallic acid as the standard. Antibacterial activity of the extracts was investigated by the disc diffusion test against Staphylococcus aureus (gram-positive) and Escherichia coli (gram-negative). Finally, collagenase inhibitor assay was performed to examine the anti-wrinkle effect of the extracts. From the results of this study, the extract of nipa palm showed the potential for use in cosmetics as an antioxidant and anti-wrinkle agent, and the extract of finger root as a sunscreen and antibacterial agent.
한외여과막 효소반응기를 이용하여 제조한 키토산 올리고당의 칼슘흡수 촉진효과

최근 다양한 기능성의 발현으로 크게 각광받고 있는 키토산 올리고당을 이용하여 칼슘의 체내 흡수율의 효과에 미치는 영향을 in vitro 및 랫트를 이용한 in vivo에 의해 검토하였다. 1. 제조된 키토산 올리고당은 3당류$\~$5당류가 주로 분포되어 있었으며, 이들의 총 함량은 $70\%$ 이상이었다. 그리고 강력한 항종양활성 및 항균활성을 가지는 것으로 알려져 있는 6당류와 7당류도 각각 $14.2\%$와 $11.3\%$로 비교적 높게 함유되어 있었다. 2. in vitro에서, 키토산 올리고당의 첨가는 무첨가에 비해 칼슘의 흡수율을 약 $50\%$ 향상시킨 것으로 나타났다. 3. 키토산 올리고당 $1\%$만을 염화칼슘과 함께 랫트에 섭취시켰을 경우, 분으로 배출되는 칼슘량은 약 $75\%$ 감소하였으며, 대퇴골의 뼈골절강도는 대조군보다 약 $20\%$, 올리고당 무첨가군보다 약 $15\%$ 증가하였다. 4. 이상의 결과를 종합적으로 검토하면, 키토산 올리고당은 칼슘의 체내 흡수율을 명확히 향상시키는 것으로 판단되었다.
