      • 갑상선암에서 MAGE 1-6 mRNA를 검출하는MAGE common primer의 의의

        Background: MAGE (melanoma antigen gene) was named as cancer/testis specific antigens since their expression is only detected in the testis or cancer cells. Because of their relatively specific expression in the cancer cells, they have been considered as the early diagnosis of several cancers, or the appropriate targets for the specific immunotherapy mediated by cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Therefore, there were many reports about the expression of MAGE genes in various types of malignant tumors, but only a few reports in human thyroid neoplasms. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the MAGE common primers expressed in different histological types of thyroid tumors and to see the clinical usefulness of MAGE common primers on the thyroid tumors. Methods: Fifty-nine patients who underwent thyroidectomy at Kosin Medical Center from January, 2001 to April, 2002 were included in the study. Of the 59 patients 40 were papillary carcinoma, 4 follicular carcinoma, 3 medullary carcinoma, 1 anaplastic carcinoma, 4 nodular hyperplasia, 3 adenomatous goiter, and 4 follicular adenoma. Total cellular mRNA was extracted from those 48 cancer tissues, 11 benign tissues and additional eleven normal control thyroid tissues. Nested reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reactions (nested RT-PCR) with the MAGE common primers designed to detect MAGE 1-6 genes were employed in this study. With probes confirmed by DNA sequencing. Results: Of those 48 cases of thyroid carcinomas 10 cases (20.8%) were expressed MAGE common primers. In the 40 papillary carcinoma, MAGE common primers were expressed in 17.5%. In the four follicular carcinoma, they were expressed in two cases, and in one case of one anaplatic carcinoma. However, in the three cases of medullary carcinoma, MAGE gene was not expressed. None of 11 benign tumors and 11 normal tissues expressed any of these MAGE common primers. The sensitivity of MAGE common primers in thyroid tumors was 20.8% and the specificity was 100%. Conclusion: These results suggested that MAGE common primers were expressed low in the malignant thyroid tumors but it was not expressed in benign tumors and normal tissues. It is suggested that MAGE common primers can be used for preoperative differential diagnosis of follicular carcinoma from benign follicular adenoma which cannot be made by fine needle aspiration cytology of thyroid tissue. However, further study is needed for clinical application of MAGE common primers expression as tumor markers in the thyroid tumors.

        묘지 조성사업지의 비탈면 보호공법에 관한 연구(Ⅰ) : 강릉시 시범 공설묘지 조성사업을 중심으로

        강릉시 시범 공설묘지 조성사업은 경사 30˚ 의 표고차가 심한 산지를 절 · 성토하여 계단식 묘역단을 조성하는 공사로 수직고 15m이상의 대절토 및 성토부가 산재하고 있다. 특히 묘역단장후 주변 유입수 및 표면 유출수에 의한 비탈면 붕괴, 묘역단 유실 등의 피해가 발생할 경우 보수 또는 보강이 사실상 어려운 실정이며, 사회적 여론으로 확대될 가능성이 크므로 비탈면 보호에 필요한 녹화공법을 검토하였다. 구체적인 연구내용으로는 설계도면 및 현장답사를 통한 문제 비탈면 추출, 비탈면의 물리적 특성과 식생의 생육상황 파악, 비탈면 주변부의 식생조사와 유용식생 선발, 비탈면의 토양조건 분석 및 비탈면 토사의 기본물성 조사 등이며, 이를 기초로 하여 비탈면 현황 및 문제점을 파악하고, 그 대안을 제시하였다. The construction of a public cemetery in Kangnung city includes terraced graveyard with cutting or banking in mountain which has severe altitude differences with a slope of 30˚. Therefore, there are scattered cutting and banking sections with vertical height more than 15m. Especially, if the slope failure or the loss of a graveyard happens after graveyard establishment due to surface flow and inflow around, it is difficult to repair, causing serious public censure. Accordingly. revegetation works were examined that need protection of slope. The specific content of the study was the selection of slopes requiring special care through blueprint and field investigation the measurement of the physical property of slope and the situation of vegetative growth, the investigation of vegetation in slopes and the selection of vegetation, and the analysis of soil condition of slopes and the physical condition of slope sediment. On the basis of investigations some alternatives were proposed.Key words: public cemetery, slope protection works, revegetation works

        3-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-2,2,4-trimethyl-3-cyclohexenone SEM ether ??, an intermediate in the synthesis of taxol was provided in eight steps. The keto ketal ?? was obtained in three steps from 1,3-cyclohexanedione. Reaction of the potassium enolate of ?? with N-phenyltrifluoromethanesulfonimide provided triflate ?? in 84% yield. Thus palladium-mediated cross-coupling reaction of enol triflate ?? with vinyltributylstannane afforded diene ?? in a 89% yield. 3-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-2,2,4-trimethyl-3-Cyclohexenone SEM ether was prepared from diene ?? by sequential hydroboration [9-BBN, THF, 89%], deprotection[pTsOH ·H₂O, THF-H₂O,~100%], and silyation [SEMC], iPr₂NEt, nBu₄NI, CH₂Cl₂, 94%]

      • 메스암페타민 사용 환자의 정신과적 증상에 영향을 미치는 요인

        목 적 : 본 연구는 메스암페타민 남용 또는 의존 환자의 사회인구학적 특성과 이에 따른 동반된 정신장애를 알아보고, 메스암페타민 사용이 정신과적 증상에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위함이다. 방 법 : 2002년 7월부터 2003년 7월까지 국립부곡병원 약물중독진료소에 입원한 환자 중 DSM-Ⅳ 진단 기준에 의하여 메스암페타민 남용 또는 의존으로 진단된 44명의 남자 환자를 대상으로 사회인구학적 변인과 물질 의존의 병력, SCL-90-R, BPRS, HRSD, YMRS, Impulsive scale 등을 측정하였다. 결 과 : 메스암페타민 사용 환자들의 93.2%가 우울하였으며, 59.1%는 치료가 필요한 정도의 우울증을 가지고 있었다. 20대 연령층에서는 대인예민성, 적대감 및 공포증에서 유의하게 높았고, 중졸 이하의 교육 수준에서는 대인예민성, 충동성에서 유의하게 높았으며, 무직인 경우는 강박증, 불만, 적대감 및 조중 척도에서 유의하게 높았다. 처음 사용한 연령은 사용 횟수, 유병 기간과 유의한 상관 관계를 보였으나, 수감 횟수와는 낮은 상관 관계를 보였다. 사용 횟수와 적대감, 공포증, 편집증은 서로 유의한 정상관을 보였다. 우울증 척도와 정신병 척도 및 충동성 척도는 서로 유의한 정상관을 보였다. 100회 미만보다 500회 이상 사용했을 경우에 불안, 적대감, 공포증 및 편집증에서 유의하게 높았다. 결 론 : 메스암페타민 남용 또는 의존 환자에서 우울증 유병률이 매우 높게 나타났고, 20대 연령층과 중졸 이하의 교육 수준 그리고 무직인 경우 정신과적 증상이 많이 동반되었으며, 사용 횟수에 따라 불안, 적대감, 공포증, 편집증에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 그러므로 모든 메스암페타민 사용자에 대해 적절한 정신과적 평가가 필요할 것으로 생각한다. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the sociodemographic characteristics and the comorbid psychiatric disorders and the effect of methamphetamine use on psychiatric symptoms in methamphetamine abuse or dependent patients. Methods : The study subjects were 44 hospitalized male patients who met the DSM-Ⅳ criteria for methamphetamine abuse or dependence. The study included items assessing the sociodemographic profiles, history of substance use, and psychiatric symptomatology. Psychiatric assessments were based on SCL-90-R, BPRS, HRSD, YMRS and Impulsive scale. Results : In methamphetamine use patients, 93.2% were depressed and 59% had moderate to severe depression There were significant differences in interpersonal- sensitivity, hostility and phobia in the 3rd decade age group, interpersonal-sensitivity and impulsive scale in .under the middle school education group, and obsession-compulsion, anxiety, hostility and. YMRS in no-job group, respectively compared to the other groups. Age of the first use was correlated with the frequency of use, and also with the duration of illness, but not with the number of incarceration. There were positive correlations among HRSD, BPRS and impulsive scale. In the above 500 times used group there were significant differences in anxiety, hostility, phobia and paranoia compared to the below 100 times used group. Conclusion : In methamphetamine abuse or dependent patients, the incidence rate of comorbid depression was 93.2%. In the 3rd decade age group, under the middle school education group and no-job group showed higher diverse psychiatric symptoms compared to the other groups. Frequency of use was positively correlated with the symptoms such as anxiety, hostility, phobia and paranoia. We suggest that relevant psychiatric evaluations are needed for all methamphetamine users.

      • 단조변환에 의해 추정된 잡음 편차를 이용하는 Soft-Threshold 기법의 영상 잡음 제거

        Donoho는 가우시안 잡음의 편차를 이용하여 신호에 포함된 잡음을 제거하는 soft-threshold 기법을 제시하였다. 이 기법은 잡음이 포함된 신호를 웨이브릿 변환한 후 변환 전에 알고 있는 잡음 편차에 의해 임계치를 구하고 이 임계치와 각 웨이브릿 계수와 비교하여 각 계수값을 축소시켜 잡음을 제거하는 기법이다. 이 논문에서는 영상에 부가된 잡음의 통계적 특성이 알려져 있지 않을 경우, soft-threshold 기법에 의해 각 대역의 잡음 편차를 추정 방법을 이용하여 잡음제거 기법을 제안하였다. 제안 방법은 잡음 부가된 영상 신호를 웨이브릿 변환 후 각 대역별 잡음 편차를 단조 변환을 이용하여 추정하고 이 추정 편차로 각 대역별 임계치를 구하며 이를 soft-threshold 기법에 적용하여 영상에 부가된 잡음을 제거한다. 이 논문에서 제안된 방법의 잡음 제거 효과와 Donoho가 제시한 방법의 제거 효과를 신호 대 잡음비를 구하여 비교하였다. 그 결과 잡음의 표준편차가 30일 때 이 논문에서 제시한 기법의 잡음 제거 효과가 Donoho가 제시한 기법에 의한 것 보다 약 3dB 개선 효과가 있었다. Donoho proposed the soft-threshold technique to remove the Gaussian noise added in images. In this technique, the image with noise is transformed by the wavelet transform and the threshold value is calculated using the known noise deviation. And then, the coefficients from the wavelet transform are compared with the threshold value and the noise are removed by the shrinkage of the transformed coefficients. In this paper, a method to denoise by the soft-threshold technique for the case that the statistical deviation of the noise are unknown, with the estimated noise deviation of each wavelet transformed subband signal by using the monotonic transform. is proposed. The proposed technique have been applied to denoise of image signal added the white Gaussian noise and compared the results with the Donoho's technique. As a result, the proposed method showed increased in signal to noise ratio of the denoised images by 3dB compared to the ratio by the Donoho's technique in case that the noise standard deviation was 30.

      • 취서산과 천성산 수계의 저서성 대형무척추동물 군집구조

        The community structures of benthic macroinvertebrates in the streams of Mt. Kauisan and Mt. Chuiseosan were studied. The surveyed sites were streams of Mt. Chuiseosan area, Tongdosa area and Naewonsa area of Mt Chunsungsan. The collection was performed from May to October of 2005. As a result, total macroinvertbrates collected in the stream of Mt Chuiseosan area were 3 phyla, 3 classes, 10 orders, 19 families, 31 species and 293 individuals. From the Tongdosa area, 2 phyla, 3 classes, 11 orders, 33 families, 51 species and 827 individuals were identified. From the Naewonsa area, 3 phyla, 4 classes, 11orders, 23 families, 32 species and 457 individuals were found. The community analysis showed the highest species diversity and species richness in Tongdosa area than other areas. The dominant species of this study was Semisulcospira libertina and it occupied 21.66% of total individuals.

      • 활성탄 제조용 하수슬러지 활성탄화로 개발

        Sludge treatment has been studied with many researcher since disposal problem of sewage sludge was became powerfully. But there was still the problem of secondary pollution and heavy metal leaching in the sewage sludge treatment process. To solve the problem, the treatment was to produce active carbon through the carbonization and the steam activation. In this study attempts to optimum design a activated carbonizer and optimum operation conditions and the technology as changing the variables. parametric screening studies were carried out for variations of the following variables : input of steam "10∼80 g/min" and carbonized time "12∼31.2 min". At the result of this is chosen, that input of steam "35 g/min" and carbonized time "31.2 min". At this time, Iodine adsorptivity and output particle diameter shown that 245.5 ㎎/g and under 4 mm. And also, by using photograph and SEM were confirmed the pore development.
