We report the cytologic features of a case of primary small cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder with high grade transitional cell and signet ring cell carcinomatous components. A 64-year-old male presented with gross hematuria for one week. Computed tomography revealed an ill-defined mass in the left lateral wall of the urinary bladder. Urinary cytology showed hypercellularity with predominantly isolated single cells and clustered cells. They have scanty cytoplasm and naked hyperchromatic nuclei with finely granular nuclear chromatin and rare nucleoli. The tumor cells occurred predominantly singe cells, but a few in clusters. Nuclear molding was prominent. No glandular formation or nesting was noted. The second tumor cells had high nuclear/cytoplasmic ratio, irregular nuclear membrane, and coarse granular chromatin. The background was inflamed and necrotic. The histoiogic findings of transurethral resection were mainly composed of small cell carcinoma, and partly transitional cell and signet ring cell carcinomatous components. Small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma have distinctive cytologic features to make a proper diagnosis.

Thermal behavior of $Li_{1-x}CoO_2$ has been investigated employing DSC (Differential Scanning calorimetry) and TGA (Thermogravimetry Analyzer), and the crystal parameters were calculated from XRD (X-ray diffraction).for the commercial rectangular pouch cell(1000 mAh).The cathode materials coated over aluminium foil current collector is made up of a blend consisting of active material $LiCoO_2$(size $20\;{\mu}m$, 94 wt%), conducting material super p black (SPB, 3 wt%) and binder polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF, 3 wt%). The anode is a mix consisting of carbon (92 wt%) and PVDF(8 wt%) coated over copper foil. The cells for the experiments were first preconditioned by cycling three times and stabilized at OCV=3.0, 3.5, 4.2, 4.35 and 4.5 V. The stabilized cathode material was used for thermal and crystal parameter investigations.

Objective : The purpose of the current series of experiments were to assess the effect of GM-CSF, as a medium supplement, on the development of mouse embryos and the expression of LIF and IL-1? mRNA. Materials and Methods: Mouse 2-cell embryos were collected from the oviducts of 6 weeks old ICR mice at 48 hours after hCG injection. Embryos were cultured in P-1 medium supplemented with mouse GM-CSF (0, 1, 5, 10 ng/ml). The embryo development to blastocysts and hatching blastocysts was assessed and the cell number in blastocyst was also examined. Using RT-PCR, the expressions of LIF and IL-1? mRNA in blastocyst were evaluated in the GM-CSF supplemented group and control group. Results: In mouse, the addition of GM-CSF increased the percentage of blastocysts (65.5%, 68.6%, 73.0% and 76.1% for control and 1, 5 and 10 ng/ml, respectively), and increased the proportion of hatching blastocysts (35.2%, 36.4%, 43.2% and 53.0% for control and 1, 5 and 10 ng/ml, respectively). The mean cell numbers in blastocyst were significantly increased in GM-CSF supplemented groups compared to control group. LIF and IL-1? expression in blastocyst were significantly higher in GM-CSF supplemented group than in control group. Conclusion: The results of experiment by mouse embryos showed beneficial effects of GM-CSF as a medium supplement. Furthermore, the addition of GM-CSF significantly increased the expression of LIF and IL-1? in mouse embryos. These results suggest that GM-CSF might be a important molecule in embryo implantation.

Objective: Moxibustion is one of major healing technique in oriental medicine. It has been widely used in many disease. There is an text which suggest moxibustion is more efficient to the situation of han(寒) and heo(虛) than yeal(熱) and sil(實) in Huangdineijing <黃帝內經>. The aim of this study is to research the effect of moxibustion at Shinmun(H7) is different according to cold or heat tendendy man by analyzing the electroencephalogram(EEG). Methods: We classified objects by their cold or heat tendency using questionnare for cold - heat patternization. (12 cold tendency man, 19 heat tendency man) Before and after moxibustion at Shinmun(H7), EEG raw data were measured during 5 minutes. The correlation dimension(D2), the correlation dimension variability rate(${\Delta}D2$), largest lyapunov exponent(L1) and largest lyapunov exponent variability rate(${\Delta}L1$) were calculated. We analyzed D2, ${\Delta}D2$, L1, ${\Delta}L1$ to see the effect of moxibustion at Shinmun(H7) was statistically different according to Cold or Heat tendendy man. Results : Paired t-test showed significant differences between before and after moxibustion at Shinmun(H7) on the Fp2 in D2(p<0.05), on the Fp2, F3 and F4 in ${\Delta}L1$(p<0.05). Student Hest showed significant differences between cold and heat tendendy man on the F3 in ${\Delta}L1$(p<0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that moxibustion at Shinmun has an effect on stabilizing mind and it is more efficient to the cold tendendy man than the heat tendendy man.
유기용매 전해조를 이용한 리튬이차박막전지용 Sn 음극의 제조

Sn-thin film as high capacitive anode for thin film lithium-ion battery was prepared by organic-electrolyte electroplating using Sn(II) acetate. Electrolytic solution including $Li^+$ and $Sn^{2+}$ had 3 reduction peaks at cyclic voltammogram. Current peak at $2.0{\sim}2.5\;V$ region correspond to the electroplating of Sn on Ni substrate. This potential value is lower than 2.91 V vs. $Li^+/Li^{\circ}$, of the standard reduction potential of $Sn^{2+}$ under aqueous media. It is the result of high overpotential caused by high resistive organic electrolytic solution and low $Sn^{2+}$ concentration. Physical and electrochemical properties were evaluated using by XRD, FE-SEM, cyclic voltammogram and galvanostatic charge-discharge test. Crystallinity of electroplated Sn-anode on a Ni substrate could be increased through heat treatment at $150^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. Cyclic voltammogram shows reversible electrochemical reaction of reduction(alloying) and oxidation(de-alloying) at 0.25 V and 0.75 V, respectively. Thickness of Sn-thin film, which was calculated based on electrochemical capacity, was $7.35{\mu}m$. And reversible capacity of this cell was $400{\mu}Ah/cm^2$.

Paraquat poisoning is a fatal type of herbicide intoxication. It is characterized by multi-organ failure and pulmonary fibrosis with respiratory failure. Intravenous and intramuscular injection of paraquat is rarely described. However, We encountered two fatal cases of acute poisoning caused by paraquat injection. Two patients were admitted to our emergency unit after intravenous and intramuscular injection of 23.8% paraquat (about 476 mg of paraquat). A 37-year-old man diluted 2 ml of 23.8% paraquat solution with 1 ml of normal saline and injected it both intravenously into his left antecubital fossa and intramuscularly into his abdomen in a suicide attempt. He died 5 days later from respiratory failure and acute renal failure. A 92-year-old man was injected intravenously into his right antecubital fossa by his grandson with 2 ml of 23.8% paraquat solution diluted with 1 ml of normal saline. He died 2 days later from early circulatory collapse and multi-organ failure (metabolic acidosis, acute renal failure, coagulopathy). Intravenous and intramuscular injection with a small quantity of paraquat resulted in fatal toxicity in our patients.

We have examined 5,304 cases of claims by death that had occured for recent three years from January, 1983 to November, 1985 in Dae han kyoyuk Ins. Co. As a result, we came to following conclusions: 1. The total numbers of the deaths are increased for three years, but the deaths, classifying by medical examinations are decreased. 2. The great part of the death were due to Accident death(27.7%), occupied Number 1, malignant neoplasm(23.9%) Number 2 and Circulatory system disease(23.9%), which were the main canses of death in the insured people. 3. With age, section ranging from 30-39 years of death cases took extremely large portions by 35.2%. 4. For the period elapsed, the deaths within 2 years to ander 3 years, 18.6%, above 6 years, 18.6%, thus the period elapsed was longer more and more as years go. 5. By the deaths of malignant neoplasm, hepatoma in male and gastric cancer in female were important causes of death.

레이져를 이용한 부분적 보조부화술이 생쥐 수정란의 부화에 미치는 효과

Objective: The present study was performed to investigate the efficiency of partial laser assisted hatching (p-LAH; lased 1/2 ZP width from ZP edge) on hatching of mouse blastocysts. Methods: We used non-contact $1.48{\mu}m$ diode laser (MTM, Switzland) to create a precise hole on zona pellucida. 2-cell embryos were collected from the mouse (ICR) oviduct at 48 hours after hCG administration. Collected 2-cell embryos were cultured in the P-1 medium supplemented with 0.4% BSA. For experiments, embryos at 8-cell stage were used after $20{\sim}22$ hours in culture. After conventional (c-LAH) or partial laser assisted hatching, the embryos were further cultured in P-1 medium supplemented with 0.4% BSA for 3 days. To compare efficiency of complete and partial laser assisted hatching, hatching rate, hatching time and blastocyst diameter and zona pellucida thickness at hatching time were investigated. Embryos were examined every 12 hours. Blastocyst diameter and zona pellucida thickness at hatching time were measured with an ocular micrometer. Results: Hatching rates of p-LAH group (84.2%) was significantly higher than that of control group (39.3%), but there was no difference between the p-LAH (84.2%) and c-LAH (91.2%). p-LAH group was hatched 12 hours earlier than control group, but hatched 12 hours later than c-LAH group. The diameter of blastocyst at hatching time of p-LAH group ($113.1{\pm}6.4{\mu}m$) was smaller than that of control group ($122.2{\pm}5.0{\mu}m$), but larger than that of c-LAH group ($102.2{\pm}2.7{\mu}m$). Zona pellucida thickness at hatching time of p-LAH group ($6.4{\pm}0.9{\mu}m$) was thicker than that of control group ($4.5{\pm}1.5{\mu}m$), but thinner than that of c-LAH group ($10.0{\pm}0.8{\mu}m$). Conclusion: These results suggest that p-LAH may maintains the cell arrangement of early embryos to ensure successful development and prevent precocious hatching of blastocyst when compare to c-LAH and conventional (acidic tyrode) AH. Thus, p-LAH may provide a valuable and effective AH technique for human ART program.

This study aims to analyze the change process in order to set the improvement strategies for the zoo in the Seoul Children's Grand Park. The zoo can be reviewed through three significant time periods with noticeable changes. As a framework to analyze the major changes that happened in the zoo, this study looks at the changes in terms of the planning aspect as well as the animal welfare and program operation aspect. The findings are as follows: first, the era of general theme park turned out to have focused on exhibiting animals to meet visitor demands by expanding the zoo area of the zoo without enlarging stockyards for the animals. Second, the environmental park era created a zoo having entertaining and educational functions by arranging animal houses with the concept of zoological taxonomy and introducing animal behavioral enrichment, animal welfare programs and visitor participatory programs. The era of the zoo as an Urban Cultural Park improved old animal houses and facilities for the welfare of the animals and increased educational programs to preserve species and provide environmental education. The current status of the zoo turns out not to meet the conditions for creating an ecological zoo, which is the overall goal for contemporary zoos. The improvement strategies based on the analysis through three different eras are three-fold. First, the zoo needs to improve the boundary conditions of the animals to showcase animal wildness through landscape immersion. Second, the zoo should provide a shared environment for animals from the same habitats by changing the classification methods from the existing polyphyletic taxon to a classification that considers ecological habitat. Third, the zoo needs to develop various ecological education programs by supplementing specialists in professional education.

호도약침액(胡桃藥鍼液)이 가토(家兎) 뇌조직(腦組織)의 Na<sup>+</sup>-pump 활성(活性) 장애(障碍)에 미치는 영향(影響)

This study was undertaken to determine whether Juglandis Semen (JAS) extraction exerts protective effect against oxidant-induced inhibition of $Na^+$-pump activity in cerebral cortex. $Na^+$-pump activity was estimated by measuring ouabain-sensitive oxygen consumption. The oxygen consumption significantly inhibited by 1 mM t-butylhydroperoxide (tBHP), which was prevented by addition of 2% JAS extraction. The oxygen consumption was increased by an increase in $Na^+$ concentration from 5 to 100mM, $K^+$ concentration from 0.5 to 10 mM, and $Mg^{++}$ concentration from 0.2 to 5 mM. These changes in ion concentrations did not affect the inhibitory effct of tBHP and protective action of JAS on oxygen consumption. tBHP(1mM) produced a significant increase in lipid peroxidation in cerebral cortex, which was prevented by 2% JAS extraction. These result suggest that JAS exerts protective effect against tBHP-induced inhibition of $Na^+$-pump activity in the cerebral cortex, this effect may be due to by an antioxidant action.
