      • 악성종양환자의 구강 사정지침에 대한 신뢰도 검증

        Oral cavity changes have been recognized as a problem in cancer treatment but the lack of clear, concise and clinically useful tool for assessing such changes has interfered with nursing care for the patient receiving stomatoxic treatments. The purpose of this study was to test the interrater reliability of an oral assessment guide. The OAG(Oral Assessment Guide) defines three levels of descriptor for each of eight categories(voice, swallowing lips, tongue, salivation, oral mucosa, gingiva & teeth). To establish the interrater reliability of OAG, eight registered nursed assessed the oral cavities of the subjects. The number of subjects was five, in which four patients who were undergoing stomatoxic therapy, and one without stomatotoxic therapy normal. The results obtained: 1. The nurse/nurse interrater reliability using Kendall's coefficient of concordance was W=0.894. 2. Swallowing was the most reliable(Kendall's W=1) and the tongue was the least reliable(W=0.3140). 3. The order of reliability of 8 categories were swallowing, lips, salivation, gingiva, voice, oral mucosa, teeth and tongue. High reliability of OAG among interrators indicated the usefulness of this tool in the clinic. By carefully and systematically inspecting a person's mouth, the nurse can detect alteration in oral status and provide early intervention. Additional testing of the OAG will help substantiate application of the tool.

        Hypoparathyroidism is usually the result of an inadvertent surgical removal of all the parathyroid glands, In some instances, not all the tissues are removed, but the remainder undergoes vascular supply compromise secondary to the fibrotic changes in the neck after surgery, Previously, the surgery for hyperthyroidism was the most frequent cause of acquired hypoparathyroidism. Idiopathic hypoparathyroidism is a relatively rare disease that is characterized by hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia due to a parathyroid hormone deficiency of an unknown cause, It usually develops at a young age, and shows various clinical symptoms and signs accompanied with hypocalcemia. In addition, it is rarely associated with polyglandular autoimmune syndrome during the follow-up. Hypocalcemia and idiopathic hypoparathyroidism associated with labor and lactation are rarely reported condition previously. We here describe a case of a woman in whom the symptomatic severe hypocalcemia appeared after her delivery. We reviewed all the previously reported cases and suggest a possible physiological explanation for the association between pregnancy, lactation, and the appearance of symptomatic hypocalcemia.

      • CAU Bag 모델에서 쿼억 - 반쿼억으로 구성된 중간자에 관한 연구

        The CAU bag model has been shown by assuming that in a hadron each quark can move freely within a certain fixed distance from other quarks, since the picture of quark confinement can be also viewed as a restriction in mutual distances between quarks forming color singlets. Based on this model, we consider only some aspects of a quark-antiquark pair representing a meson state. For example, we are able to construct an effective Lagrangian for the system, from which the equations of motion and the boundary conditions for each quark as well as antiquark are derived. Furthermore the wave funtions of quark as well as antiquark modes reveal that there exist orthogonalities between those of quark-antiquark modes confined in bags of different radii. This result has been realized from the fact that quark as well as antiquark mode in a meson bag of fixed radius is viewed as a superposition of plane waves with fixed energy. Then the wave funcions of quark-antiquark modes in a meson are constructed through the superposition of those in bags of various radii to yield a Bethe-Salpeter form.

        The interference function I(k), the radial distribution function(RDF) 4πr².ρ(r), and the probability function W(r)= ?? , where ρ(r) is the number of atoms per unit volume at a distance r from a reference atom and ?? is the average atomic density, can be determined from the experimentally measured X-ray scattering pattern of a liquid, amorphous or micropoly-crystalline binary alloy. The measured X-ray intensities are corrected for background, polarization and absorption which are characteristic of the diffraction geometry. The resulting corrected intensities are then normalized to an absolute scale with the normalization constants determined by the high-angle, the RDF, and the Krogh-Moe-Norman methods including the Laue monotonic scattering due to the difference in scattering factors ?? and ?? of the elements A and B in the binary alloy of concentration ?? of A atoms. The coherent scattering intensities per atom in absolute units, J ?? is the basis for the calculation of the interference function I(k): ?? where k= ?? Consisting of the measured intensities of the binary alloy, the background intensities, the atomic scattering factors and the Compton Scattering of the individual elements, we are shown the scattered intensities, ?? in electron units, the interference function I(k), the function F(k), the Fourier coefficients G(r), the radial distribution function(RDF) 4πr²ρ(r), the average atomic distribution ?? , the probability function W(r) and the coordinatio number CN= ??

        만성정신분열증 환자에서 Cholecystokinin의 치료효과

        This study was designed to investigate antipsychotic properties of cholecystokinin-octapeptide(CCK-8) in schizophrenic patients. Subjects were 30 chronic schizophrenics with residual symptoms following stablization with antipsychotic drugs. CCK-8(0.2㎍/㎏) or placebo was administered intravenously single injection with double-blind method while patients received constant dose of antipsychotic drugs. The clinical effect of CCK-8 was evaluated with BPRS which was applied to patients 2 hours before and 3 and 7 days after drug administration. Results showed no significant differences between CCK-8 group and placebo group.

        The deadlock detector is a DBMS sub-component that examines periodically whether system is in a deadlock state based on lock waiting information of transactions. The deadlock detector and transactions execute concurrently in a DBMS and read and /or write the lock waiting information simultaneously. Since the lock waiting information is a shared one, we need an efficient method guaranteeing its physical consistency by using mutual exclusion. In this paper, we propose a new method that effectively guarantees physical consistency of lock waiting information. Two primary goals of our method is to minimize the processing overhead and to maximize system concurrency.

        Anisakiasis refers to parasitic infestation by nematode larvae that belongs to the subfamily Anisakinae, and this condition is seen in people who eat inadequately prepared or raw salt-water fish. While gastric anisakiasis is commonly diagnosed by endoscopic technique, intestinal anisakiasis is rare because it is less common and the clinical and radiologic features are poorly understood. The authors report a case of human anisakiasis involving the ileocecal valve in 62-year-old man who had the history of eating raw cuttlefish.

        낙동강 하류(물금)와 세 지류에서 분리된 우점 세균의 증식에 미치는 금속(Cd & Zn) 및 그 질소 화합물의 영향

        1999년 5월부터 12월까지 한달 간격으로 부산·경남 인근의 주요 취수원인 물금취수장과 낙동강 중·하류에 위치한 지류 세 지점(남강, 황강, 금호강)에서 생균수와 우점종을 밝혀내고, 배양을 통해 우점종의 증식에 미치는 중금속의 영향을 실험하였다. 조사기간동안 지류별 생균수의 평균값(log_10)은 물금에서 가장 낮았고(3.4 CFU), 황강(3.709 CFU), 남강, 금호강 순으로 나타났다. 특히, 금호강 지점은 다른 지점보다 월등하게 높은 값을 보여주었다. 전 지점에서 Staphylococcus가 가장 우점하는 것으로 나타났으며, P. pneumotropica, S. lentus, Micrococcus spp.가 차점종으로 나타났다. 전 조사 지점의 공통 우점종을 배양하면서 이들의 증식에 미치는 중금속의 영향을 실험한 결과 남강에서 분리된 Micrococcus spp.는 Cd와 Zn분말 및 질소화합물에 대해 전반적으로 증식이 억제되는 것으로 나타났다. P. pneumotropica는 Cd과 Zn분말 첨가했을 때 증식억제가 뚜렷하게 일어났으나, 각각의 질소 화합물에 대해서는 증식이 대조군과 유사하거나, 보다 낮은 증식억제력을 나타내었다. A. hydrophilla도 Cd과 Zn분말, Zn(NO_3)_26H_2O에 대해 증식이 크게 억제되었으나, Cd(NO_3)_24H_2O 첨가시 대조군 증식 곡선에 비해 증식력이 ⅓~⅔에 불과했다. S. lentus는 분리된 시기마다 증식억제력에 차이를 보였으나, Cd과 Zn분말 그리고 그 화합물에 대해 증식억제력이 대체로 낮은 것으로 나타났다. Investigation was carried out to observe the dominant bacteria and the effect of metals(Cd & Zn) and its nitrate compound on growth of bacteria isolated from the three tributaries and lower reach of the Nakdong River. Mean CFU(log_10) level was highest in Kumho River(8.30 CFU), Nam River, Hwang River, and Mulgum followed. Staphylococcus xylosus, Staph. lentus, Pasteurella pneumotropica, Aeromonas hydrophilla were dominant species in each study site. Cadmium powder and Zinc powder showed strong effect to inhibit the growth of Micrococcus spp., Pasteurella pneumotropica, Aeromonas hydrophilla. But, nitrate compoundes of Cd and Zn(Cd(NO_3)_24H_2O, Zn(NO_3)_26H_2O) did not clearly show the strong effect to inhibit the growth of dominants.

        The Costimulation of Selenium Treatment and Selenoprotein M Overexpression Significantly Induced the Up- and Down-regulation of ERK MAPK Signaling Pathway in Various Tissues

        Selenium (Sel) is widely distributed through the body, and performs a crucial role in the regulation of organ function. In this study, in order to determine whether Sel treatment and selenoprotein M (SelM) overexpression could affect the extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK) mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway, the level of ERK phosphorylation was assessed in various tissues of CMV/ EGFP-hSelM Tg rats after Sel treatment. Herein, our results demonstrated that SelM overexpression induces a slight increase in the ERK MAPK pathway in the heart, liver, and intestine, while no changes were detected in the brain, lung, and kidney. After Sel treatment, the liver and intestine evidenced higher levels of ERK activation than were induced by SelM overexpression. In particular, costimulation with SelM overexpression and Sel treatment induced a dramatic increase in the phosphorylation of ERK in the brain, heart, liver, and intestine, while a reduction in ERK phosphorylation was noted in the kidneys. The results of this study suggest that Sel and SelM may contribute to the regulation of a variety of functions via the induction of ERK phosphorylation in different organs of CMV/EGFP-hSelM Tg rats.

        Current Status of the Management Program for Animal Model of Disease in an Advanced Country

        Animal models of disease are animals that mimic the pathological condition or the disease entity of specific diseases occurring in humans. These animals are very useful to screen drugs that may be harmful, have a side effect, or would allow a better understanding of the disease mechanism. This study surveyed the current situation of animal care and use program for the Genetic Engineered Mouse (GEM) in the possession of advanced country. Also, the items of these situation involved the GEM number, the national policy and the government support system. The largest number of disease animals in the world is maintained in the USA. Specifically, the National Institute of Health (NIH) in USA supports the several institutions such as Mutant Mouse Regional Resource Centers (MMRRC), Induced Mutant Resource (IMR), Mouse Mutant Gene Resource (MMR), Special Mouse Strains Resource (SMSR) and Neuromice (NMICE) to maintain the animal models of disease. In Japan, RIKEN BioResource Center as one of several resources centers is collecting, supplying and reserving GEM involving the animal models of disease. These works were supported by National BioResource Project (NBRP) of Japanese government. Finally, the some countries in the European Union compile theEuropean Mouse Mutant Archive (EMMA) in order to effectively support and manage these animal models of disease. At present, EMMA possesses 800 kinds of GEM disease models. Therefore, these results suggested that it is very important to establish the national management program for animal model of disease, and this system must be established as soon as possible in our country.
