      • 안성시 간이급수시설에 대한 연구

        The condition of operation and maintenance for selected small water systems in An Sung was surveyed. Eight small water systems were selected among one hundred ninety systems in An Sung. The environment, especially contaminant source around the systems was reevaluated. Questionnaire was also conducted to find out the recognition of inhabitants and/or managers for the operational difficulty and management problems of the systems. Twenty percent of the respondents was not satisfied with the flow rates of the supplied water and 16% with the water quality. Eighty percent of the respondents wanted to enhance the existing treatment facilities by installing additional filtration and/or disinfection process. Only 13% of the managers of the small systems were regularly paid. The limit of their role and responsibility seemed unclear and the development of practical and responsible management program for small water systems is expected.

        This study has been performed to investigate into various tensile properties of Fe-1.32% Si-0.34% C steel either quenched and tempered or isothermal-transformed after austenitizing at temperatures in the range of which both ferrite and austenite are present. The results obtained from the experiment are as follows; 1) The ductility is considerably improved by the addition of Si due to the fact that ferrite solution-strengthened and the formation of precipitates in ferrite is retarded. 2) Tensile test has shown that tensile properties of specimens isothermal-transformation treated are more improved as compared to the quenching and tempering treatment. 3) The saving of heat treatment energy and the reduction of manufacturing time can be achieved by simplifying heat treatment cycles to obtain better tensile properties than those generally obtainable from dual phase steels.

        The present paper is an introduction to the whole project of "The systematic studies on Korean Betulaceae". Three studies under the project were performed this year and presented in this report : a review of taxonomic literatures and the construction of distribution maps by Woo-Tchul Lee, pollen morphology by Sang-Tae Lee and Moo-Yeol Kim, and wood anatomy by Woong-Young Soh and Kwan-Bae Jeon.

      • 인터페론 치료에 반응이 없었던 예들을 포함한 만성 B형 간염 환자에서 lamivudine의 단기 치료 효과

        The efficacy and safety of lamivudine administration according to the presence or abscence of past history of interferon treatment were studied in 22 patients with chronic active hepatitis B who were diagnosed at ChungNam National Univerity Hospital. Nine of these patiens were no responders to interferon treatment. The change of HBV DNA, serum ALT and HBeAg values was analyzed during 12 weeks of lamivudine treatment. The results were as follow : 1. The mean values of HBV DNA and serum ALT were significantly reduced from 1793 9 to 2.0 pg/ml and from 202.5 to 36.3 IU/L after lamivudine treatment (p<0.001). The mean reduction rates of serum HBV DNA and serum ALT were 99.7% and 70.4%. 2. HBV DNA was undetectable in 18 patierits(81.8%) and serum ALT was normalized in 16 patients(68.2%%) after 12 weeks of lamivudine treatment. But there were temporary elevations of serum ALT value comparing to pretreatment value in 5 patients. 3. HBeAg was undetectable in 4 patients(18.1%) and in these 4 patients, anti-HBe was detected after 12 weeks treatment. 4. There was no significant difference of HBV DNA clearance rate and normalization rate of serum ALT between above and below 200 pg/mI group according to pretreatment HBV DNA values(p=0.74, p=0.08). 5. Each clearance rates of HBV DNA in patients without previous interferon treatment and patients with previous interferon treatment were 84.6% and 77.8%(p=0.68). Each clearance rates of HBeAg in patients without previous interferon treatment and with previous interferon treatment were 15.5% and 22.2%(p=0.683). 6. During the treatment periods, adverse effects of lamivudine were negligible in most patients except temporary leukopenia in one patient. Conclusively, lamivudine treatment over the short term period for patients with chronic active hepatitis B was effective in suppression of viral replication and improvement of abnormal serum ALT. Also the efficacy of lamivudine treatment was out of all relation to previous interferon treatment and adverse effects of this drug were negliable. But further study for the efficacy of long term period-lamivudine treatment and appearance of mutant shoud be necessary.

        이상 시의 시간의식 연구

        This essay purposes to explain the consciousness on time in Lee Sang’s poems, focusing specifically on his poem, Strange Reversible Reaction. The argument will start from the obvious fact that the poet"s literature was based on the discovery of the material condition, called, the colony Gyeongsung. Through this discussion, what caused rejection and distrust for the time, which appear repeatedly in his literary texts, will be explained. Once, the modernist Lee Sang was dreaming of the perfect world of modernity. But the modern world he experienced was nothing but a cruel civilization with no vitality. As a result, he gave the death sentence to the world and tried to build up a new civilization. His literary texts will answer to the question, “Did the straight line kill the circle?”

      • BEZ235 (PIK3/mTOR inhibitor) Overcomes Pazopanib Resistance in Patient-Derived Refractory Soft Tissue Sarcoma Cells

        <P><I>BACKGROUND:</I> Although pazopanib treatment has become the standard chemotherapy in salvage setting for metastatic sarcoma patients, most patients progress after pazopanib treatment in 4 to 6 months. After failure to pazopanib, patients have limited options for treatment. Therefore, subsequent therapy in patients who failed to pazopanib is urgently needed and the use of patient derived cells or patient derived tumors for accompanying testing with various pharmacological inhibitors could offer additional treatment options for these patients. <I>METHODS:</I> Patient derived tumor cells were collected from ascites at the time of progression to pazopanib and a 13-drug panel was tested for drug sensitivity. We confirmed the results using <I>in vitro</I> cell viability assay and immunoblot assay. We also performed the genomic profiling of PDX model. <I>RESULTS:</I> The growth of patient derived tumor cells was significantly reduced by exposure to 1.0 μM AZD2014 compared with control (control versus AZD2014, mean growth = 100.0% vs 16.04%, difference = 83.96%, 95% CI = 70.01% to 97.92%, <I>P</I> = .0435). Similarly, 1.0 μM BEZ235 profoundly inhibited tumor cell growth <I>in vitro</I> when compared to control (control versus BEZ235, mean growth = 100.0% vs 7.308%, difference = 92.69%, 95% CI = 78.87% to 106.5%, <I>P</I> < .0001). Despite the presence of CDK4 amplification in the patient-derived tumor cells, LEE011 did not considerably inhibit cell proliferation when compared with control (control vs LEE011, mean growth = 100.0% vs 80.23%, difference = 19.77%, 95% CI = 1.828% to 37.72%, <I>P</I> = .0377). The immunoblot analysis showed that BEZ235 treatment decreased pAKT, pmTOR and pERK whereas AZD2014 decreased only pmTOR. <I>CONCLUSION:</I> Taken together, upregulation of mTOR/AKT pathway in sarcoma patient derived cells was considerably inhibited by the treatment of AZD2014 and BEZ235 with downregulation of AKT pathway (greater extent for BEZ235). These molecules may be considered as treatment option in STS patient who have failed to pazopanib in the context of clinical trials.</P>

        The Circumstance is becoming great Issue of in Plastic Art. We are able to see many environment art object in daily life space, out of Gallery and Museum. Christo, a land Artist, is utilizing environment to magnify plastic art Space; and tried to change the public site into artistic space; showed biggest Project to be changed into the whole public buildings. From this trial, he is suggesting new possibility, and make the result to magnify the Artistic Idea Region. The land art is showing the Issue that the wide natural space is not only a space of life but also artistic Environment. It could be recreated new one by artists activity and developed into a special artistic object. Joseph Kosuth, a conceptual Artist, is changing the physical space into recognizable space; using special concept to use numbers, letters, emblems, and object for the Art. His Artistic methodology could be art or not, according to be determined by the choice and procedures of the spectators. This is the issue of the concept of recognition of environment. Roberet Irwin, a light and space artist, trying to change visible space into invisible space, shows special aspect of meditation space of light in the dry urban circumstance; make the issue of the light and space as the role of a new field of one artistic aspect; becoming the artist of special study of grafting the urban space with art. Therefore, artistic field is more wider than before, so the gallery and Museum walls could be repalced by natural space.

      • 전남쌀의 가격차별화 현황과 발전방향

        Competitiveness of rice comes from higher quality and lower price. The latter accrues from cost reduction which is in turn possible through the economies of scale. Economies of scale is, however, very difficult to achieve because of small-scaleness of rice acreage in Chonnam Province and expensive land price. Therefore, rice competitiveness should be complemented by utilizing quality differentiation both vertically and horizontally. Chonnam rice is somehow treated as a lemon good among the metropolitan consumers like in Seoul. It is a problem to be coped with. According to our research results, Chonnam rice carried the lowest price in the rice markets of the big cities. In Taegu city, Chonnam branded rice was not sold at the department stores, and it was sold only at one place in Pusan. In other words, Chonnam rice is treated as a lemon good and shunned by some localities across the nation. In order to remedy this unfavorable situation, Chonnam rice should be differentiated both vertically and horizontally in terms of variety selection, storage, milling and processing, packaging, etc. Especially, development of new brands and quality guarantee is ncccss. Besides, both publicizing and improving rice quality should be emphasized to promote Chonnam rice at the national level.

      • Mossbauer 분광법에 의한 Fe₂SiO₄의 연구

        Fe₂SiO₄에 관한 X-선 회절실험과 Mossbauer 분광실험을 하였다. X-선 회절실험 결과 본 시료는 olivine group에 속하는 fayalite로서 orthorhombic 구조(??)임을 알 수 있었다. Mossbauer 분광실험은 60K-834K의 온도구간에서 행하여 졌으며, Mossbaure 스펙트럼을 분석한 결과 철은 high spin 2+ 상태임을 알 수 있었고, X-선 회절실험 결과와는 다르게 철이 산소 이온들과 함께 일그러진 octahedron을 형성하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. The Fe₂SiO₄ has been studied by means of X-ray diffractometry and Mossbauer spectroscopy. The analysis of X-ray diffraction pattern shows that Fe₂SiO₄is fayalite of orthorhombic structure(??). The Mossbauer spectra which have been taken between 60K and 834K show that the valence state of iron is ferrous and high spin state and that the iron ions occupy sites of distorted octahedron whereas the X-ray analysis shows it is at a site of regular one.
