The purposes of this study were to analyze the muscle activities and the characteristics of muscle recruiting patterns of upper trunk for Ssirum dutguri technique using three top-ranked elite Ssirum players. The EMG technique was used to record muscle activities of both right and left sides of latissimus dorsi, biceps brachii, and erector spinae. Six surface electrodes were placed on the surface of the selected muscles and one ground electrode was also attached on the back of neck(C7). One video camera was also used to record the Ssirum motion to define 4 events and 3 phases for further analysis. The raw EMG data were filtered with band pass filter (50-400 Hz) to remove artifacts and then low pass filtered (4 Hz) to find the linear envelope which resemble muscle tension curve. This filtered EMG data were normalized to MVIC for the purpose of comparion between the subjects. The results were indicated that each subject with different physical characteristics showed very different muscle activity patterns. Although Ssirum dutguri is considered as foot technique the player grasped opponent's satba(belt) with both hands when they play. Because of this reason, activities of upper trunk muscles were relatively high. However, direct comparison between upper and lower body muscles was not possible due to the lack of the data in present study. Interestingly, all threes subjects showed that erector spinae muscle activity was comparatively higher than those of latissimus dorsi and biceps brachii. 진행성 골화성 섬유 이형성증은 2 백만명 중에 1명 발생하는 매우 드문 유전질환이다. 저자들은 2차례의 외상후 심해진 진행성 섬유 이형성증환자에서 최근 다시 발생된 외상후 생긴 병변부위에 biphosphonate와 steroid 투여로 최근수상부위의 근육 골화와 경화를 현저한 호전을 보였으나, 기존의 골화가 이미 진행된 병변에서는 잘 반응하지 않음을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva(FOP) is an extremely rare hereditary disorder characterised by progressive heterotopic ossification of the soft tissue. The resulting progressive immobilization of the limbs, jaw and chest wall generally leads to severe disability. We present an 20-rear-old man with advanced FOP. He had two operative interventions by prior traffic accident and recent biopsy. It resulted abnormal ossification. Treatment for this disorder is avoidance of exacerbating factors and medical strategies is biphosphonate and steroid. We observed the course of ossification and muscle atrophy during biphosphonate and steroid therapy in advanced FOP.
Cisplatin과 Tobramycin이 白鼠 Corti器에 미치는 영향에 關한 電子 顯微鏡的 硏究 : Ultrastructural Study

In order to study the morphological changes of Corti’s organ in the rat treated with cisplatin and tobramycin, thirty-three rats, weighing between 200∼250g, were used, and divided into 4 groups, i.e., 3 rats were used for control, and 30 rats were used for 3 experimental groups. Each experimental group was divided into cisplatin-treated, tobramycin-treated, and both cisplatin and tobramycin treated group with 10 rats. Rats were injected with a single dose of 7.7㎎/㎏ of cisplatin intraperitoneally and 50㎎/㎏/day of tobramycin for 2 days intramuscularly, respectively or both. Treated rats were sacrificed on the 3rd and 5th day after the first injection. Results were as follows; 1. Cisplatin-treated group: Outer hair cells of Corti’s organ were degenerated with the formation of vacuoles and appearance of lysosomes, however, inner hair cells showed mild vacuolization. 2. Tobramycin-treated group: NO pathological changes were found in Corti’s organ. 3. Combined cisplatin and tobramycin treated group: Outer and inner hair cells showed vacuolization, appearance of lysosomes, myelin figures and multivesicular body. There were also multivesicular body in the inner phalangeal cell and myelin figure in the Reissner’s membrance. 4. Degeneration of Corti’s organ in the combined treated group was more sever than those of the single cisplatin-treated or tobramycin-treated group. 5. NO pathological differences of Corti’s organ in duration of postinjection were manifested in any groups. It can be concluded that cisplatin induces toxicity to inner ear and cisplatin enhance toxicity more in continued treated with tobramycin.

The purpose of this study is to propose a study on the direction of development of the leisure policy in the aging society in the 21st century and ultimately try to find how to activate the old People's exercises. The method to develop the leisure policy for the old people's as follows: First there must be creative, active and constructive form of leisure and we must help the old to enjoy a life of leisure. Secondly, it is necessary to expand and supplement recreation facilities for the aged in the aging society, Thirdly, it is necessary to enlarge the public facilities for the old people's physical training and find a plan to use them properly. Fourthly, it is necessary to fry to find the method to use the facilities effectively for a life of leisure. Fifthly, there must be a variety of educational program to activate a leisure activity for the aged and it is necessary to strength then the old people's education through all cultures. Sixthly, it is necessary to instruct and use professional leaders to carry out such leisure activities for the old. Seventhly, it is necessary to develop and spread the sports programs proper to the old and then find a plan to utilize them wisely, Last, including the leisure policy for the aged, it is necessary to set up and intensify an organization exclusively responsible for the old people's physical training.

Kinematic and kinetic analysis using 3D Motion Capture system are common, yet there is little in the literature that discuss the relationship and coactivity between muscles during the golf swing. The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between the employed 16 muscles during golf swing. We could observe 3 muscle patterns such as 'Line' shape, 'L' shape, and 'Loop' shape for the golf swing activity. The 'Line' shape indicates that two muscles act almost perfectly in phase, and the 'L' shape represents that two muscles act in a reciprocating manner(When one is active, the other is quiescent and vice versa). And the 'Loop' shape indicates that two muscles act sequently(After one is active, the other act). In these results, we knew the muscle patterns during golf swing is similar to the patterns during gait. And we presented it was possible to show the consistence of golf swing through the frequency analysis of muscle patterns. We believe that the results potentially useful for the golf players and coaches to analyze their performance.

In this study, Mechanical property, thermal property, watervapor, and oxygen permeability of biodegradable Soy protein/Pectin-montmorillonite nanocomposite, prepared with Na^(+)-MMT, have been studied. X-ray diffraction and TEM experiments an polymer/silicate composite samples demonstrated that the intercalation of polymer chains leads to increase in the spacing between silicate layers. In addition, it were found that the intercalated Soy protein/Pectin/montmorillonite nanocomposite were prepared. It was found that the addition of only a small of clay was enough to improve the thermal stability and mechanical property of Soy protein/Pectin/montmorillonite nanocomposite. watervapor of Soy protein/Pectin/montmorillonite nanocomposite was generally lower than that of Soy protein/Pectin. oxygen permeability of Soy protein/Pectin/montmorillonite nanocomposite was generally lower than that of Soy protein/Pectin.

저자들은 최근 화농성 슬관절염과 병발한 수막구균성 수막염 1예를 체험하였고, 이는 국내에서 아직 보고되지 않은 드문 예로 사료되어 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. We recently experienced a case of meningococcal meningitis associated with pyogenic arthritis in a 37-year old male patient. Pyogenic arthritis developed in right knee joint during treatment for meningococcal meningitis. He was treated successfully by appropriate antibiotics and arthroscopic irrigation. To our knowledge, such a rare case has not ever been reported in Korea, Hence we report this case with a review of related literatures.

Converting of wasted plastics into oil can be used as a new energy source. It has advantages of reducing the environmental problems and produces additional economic values. In this study, polyethylene and polypropylene were catalytically degraded by JSA-1(Si/Al=6.7), JSA-2 (Si/Al=2.57), HZSM-5 (Si/Al=30.2) and MCM-48(Si/Al=100/0) catalysts to investigate the optimum degradation conditions. The order in liquid product yield was JSA-2 > JSA-1 > HZSM-5. Liquid product yield was increased with the catalyst loading, but the carbon number distribution of the liquid product was widely spreaded. When the HZSM-5 was phosphated to regulate the acidity, the liquid product yield was in the order of P (2 wt %) HZSM-5 > P (1 wt %) HZSM-5 > HZSM-5 > P (3 wt %) HZSM-5. The optimum acidic amount and strength of the phosphated HZSM-5 was achieved when 2 wt % P was loaded. It was confirmed by the ammonia TPD. HMCM-48 with acid sites was not blocked by carbon deposition because of the large pore size. So, it seems to promote the catalytic activity of the plastic degradation.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the joint moment on lower extremity during a developpe devant. Data were collected by Kwon3D, KwonGRF program. Two professional modem female dancers were participated in this experiment. Subjects performed a developpe devant in meddle heights. On the axes of X, Y, Z, it was shown that the maximum joint moment was occurred in hip joint. The moments are plotted during developpe devant. The ankle muscles generate a plantar flexion moment and the knee muscles generate a flexion moment and The hip muscles generate a extension moment. So these muscles of joint muscles were known to play a key role in keeping the body balance while doing developpe devant. In addition adduction moment occurred at hip, knee, an ankle in the order of amount, we could assume from this data that turn out motion started from the hip joint. There was small active turn out possible below the hip joint. A small amount of extra turn out could be obtained when standing because of flexion between the foot and floor, which could be used to give a passive external rotation force to the whole leg and this could produce a rotation between the knee and foot. This passive external rotation could produce very damaging results. Therefore, lower extremity joint muscles such as hip, knee, and ankle muscle should be trained to keep the body balance and prevent injury during developpe devant performance. And for the safe and perfect turn ort performance, hip joint abduction, the most important external rotating muscle for turn out is needed to train and full stretching should be done in advance.
