A multi-functional indoor smog chamber was designed and evaluated lo investigate photochenical or water vapor reaction mechanisms of air pollutants. Various smog chamber experiments could be conducted using ambient air or purified air in this smog chamber. The smog chamber consisted of a housing, a Teflon bag, blacklights, injection ports, sampling ports, and utility facilities. The characteristics of light source, the wall losses of air pollutants, and the quality of purified air were experimentally investigated. The maximum NO₂ photolysis rate was 1.10min^(-1). In a 2.5-m³ Teflon bag, the wall losses of ambient O₃, NO, and NO₂were 1.2~2.4×10^(-3)min^(-1), 0.7~2.0×10^(-3)min^(-1), and 0.4-2.0×10^(-3)min^(-1), respectively. The wall loss of ambient particles ranging 0.05 to 0.2㎛ was 1.8~5.4×10^(-3)min^(-1), which was slightly higher than those of ambient gaseous species. The purified air supply system provided high quality of air with NO₂, < 1 ppb, and total hydrocarbons <5 ppb.
COPA(cuffed oropharyngeal airway)를 이용한 마취 유도 시 근이완제 사용 유무에 따른 반응

Background : COPA (cuffed oropharyngeal airway) is a convenient device for airway management in patients undergoing general anesthesia for elective surgery in supine position. It causes less pharyngeal trauma than LMA(Laryngeal mask airway). The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of COPA with and without muscle relaxant. Methods : Forty patients with ASA physical status I and II for elective surgery were randomly assigned to two groups. Anaesthesia was induced with propofol (2 mg/kg) and vecuronium (1.5 mg/kg) and was administered intravenously in Group I but not in Group II. Mask ventilation was done for 5 min with 0: 5 L/min. COPA was placed and heart rate, and systolic, mean, diastolic blood pressure and peak inspiratory pressure were measured at 1 min interval for 5 min. Anaesthesia was maintained with pro- pofol 150 ㎍/kg/min, fentanyl 1 ㎍/kg/hr, O_2 2 L/min and N_2O 2 L/min. Results : There were no significant differences between Group I and Group II in heart rate, systolic, mean and dstolic blood pressure. PIP (Peak inspiratory pressure) was increased and hiccups occurred significantly (p $lt; 0.05) in Group II. Complete airway obstruction occurred in one patient of Group I and severe coughing, body movements and gagging occurred during induction and insertion in Group II. conclusions : With the use of appropriate muscle relaxant, we can use COPA without increased inspiratory pressure or significant complication. 보일러 FGR 환경설비시스템에 있어서 배기 배출물에 미치는 재순환 배기의 영향

The effect of recirculated exhaust gas on exhaust emissions under four kinds of nozzle tip with the different fuel consumption rate are experimentally investigated by using an once- through boiler with FGR system. The purpose of this study is to develop the FGR control system for reducing NO, in a boiler. Intake and exhaust oxygen concentrations, and equivalence ratio are applied to discuss the effect of FGR rate on exhaust emissions at various fuel consumption rates. It is found that NO, emissions are decreased, while soot emissions are increased owing to the drop of intake and exhaust oxygen concentrations, and the rise of equivalence ratio as FGR rates are elevated.

The thermal decomposition process of Mo(CO)_6 on chemical vapor deposition was investigated by analyzing the effects of deposition temperature, pressure, and reaction gas on the phase change of deposited films. Mo_2C was deposited at or below 350℃ due to the incompleteness of thermal decomposition of Mo(CO)_6, but Mo films was successfully deposited at 400℃ or higher temperatures. The variation of deposition pressure did not change the dependence of decomposition process on deposition temperature. The activation energy of surface reaction was 5.8 ㎉/mole.
하악 과두 골절 환자에서 Lag Screw를 이용한 치료시 예후에 관한 임상적 연구

Treatment of condylar fracture is still controversial, but the indication of surgical mangement is increased due to improved fixation methods and surgical techniques. In this article, we report our clinical and radiological results with the use of lag screw osteosyn-thesis for fixation of fractured mandibular condyle. 12 case of condyle fracture treated by open reduction and fixation with lag screw were monitored for an average of 10 months (range from 6 months to 19 months) postoperatively. The obtained results are as follows : 1. Postoperative maximum mouth opening is achieved over 40mm except one patient. 2. Although slight crepitus and deviation of mandible during mouth opening were found, Tempo-romandibular joint problem is satisfactory in all but one patient. 3. Distal migration of screw and resorption of fractured fragment were found in each 2 patients, but good functional recovery was achieved in all. According to the above results, we think that lag screw osteosynthesis is relatively indicated in level III or IV condylar fracture.

Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis is known to have a poor prognosis and major cause of morbidity and motality in patients with hematologic disease. Without adequate therapy, invasive pulmonary aspergillosis will almost always progress to fatal pneumonia. Early administration of antifungal agents in patient with invasive pulmonary aspergillosis is most important. And surgical resection of aspergillous-infected tissue may be useful in patients with lesions that are contiguous with great vessel and lesions causing hemoptysis. We reported a rare case of surgical resection as curative treatment for invasive pulmonary aspergillosis patient in 58-year-old man who had the history of acute myeloid leukemia.

To investigate the pharmacokinetic difference between the two amoxicillin (AMX) particles in rabbits after intramuscular injection (i.m.), both of AMX-S (particle size: 10 ㎍) and AMX-L (particle size: 100 ㎍) were injected into New Zealand White rabbits (1.2±0.3 ㎏) at a dose rate of 10 ㎎/㎏ of body weight. In this study, serum AMX concentrations were detected by microbiological assay with E. coli BE 1186 which shows high antibiotic sensitivity. After i.m. administration, AMX-S and AMX-L were best fitted as 1-compartment model with the absorption and elimination phase. The biological half-life (T_1/2, _k10) of AMX-S is 4.06±1.09 h and that of AMX-L 4.76±0.69 h. The serum maximal concentration time (T_max) of AMX-S and AMX-L were 0.88±0.17 h and 0.77±0.11 h, respectively. Maximal AMX concentration (C_max) (AMX-S: 5.71±0.62 ㎍/㎖, AMX-L: 5.04±0.25 ㎍/㎖) in serum showed a significant difference (p<0.05). In terms of bioequivalance, however, there was no difference between the two AMX's after i.m. injection in the basis of C_max and AUC.
Pentadecafluorroctyl Polyacrylate에 依한 Nylon 6 纖維의 撥水加工에 關한 硏究

This study has been investigated on the effects of fluorochemical repellent agent on the water repellent finishes of nylon 6 fibre with pentadecafluorooctyl polyacrylate. Contact angles of various liquids on the fluorochemical treated nylon 6 surface are measured. The critical surface tension of about 46 dynes per cm on the nylon 6 surface is resulted. The effect of fluorochemical repellent was most favourable at 1% concentration repellent agent and the critical surface tension is resulted the value of about 10.5 dynes per cm. The use of antistatic agent in the fluorochemical repellent was most favourable below 0.5% concentration. It was found that the repellent effects were improved by repeated treatments with the solution of lower concentration of repellent.

The auricle, diverging from the side of the head, consists of a delicate shell of elastric cartilage between the anterior and posterior of the thin skins. Thus, a radiacl chage in the outlook for the results of ear reconstruction has occured in recent years due to the delicate anatomical specificity. Inspite of the challenge of the many plastic surgeons, successful resconstruction of acquired defects may be extrimely difficult or impossible- especially, in patients who have suffered total traumatic loss of the auricle in which the local soft tissues are destroyed or deeply scarred. We experienced the case of total auricular loss with severe periauricular abrasion and dirty tattooing, and can obtained successful total ear reconstuction using buried cartilage and the distant flap.
