        This research is associated with the theoretical analysis of the interaction of shear wall-frame in high rise concrete buildings. In this research, the lateral deflection of the shear wall is approximated by polynomials with unknown coefficients, which are derived from boundary conditions and by calculating the flexural stiffnesses of shear wall and frame. Theoretical analysis has been carried out by considering the lateral shear distribution on shear wall and frame and the continuity of lateral deformation under the assumption of slab diaphragm action. The results calculated by the approximate methods presented in this research show good agreements with the computed values by stiffness matrix method. The approximate methods evaluate the shear wall-frame interaction satisfactorily and could be used in the preliminary structural design of shear wall-frame concrete buildings.

      • 확률론적 파괴역학을 도입한 원전배관의 건전성평가 기법에 관한 연구

        For nuclear piping periodic inspections and integrity assessments are needed for the safety. But many flaws are undetectable due to sampling inspection. Probabilistic integrity assessment is applied to take into consideration of uncertainty and variance of input parameters arise due to material properties, applied load and undetectable flaws. This paper describes a Probabilistic Fracture Mechanics(PFM) analysis based on Monte Carlo(MC) algorithms. Taking important parameters at probabilistic variables such as fracture toughness, crack growth rate and flaw shape, failure probability of nuclear piping is archived as a results of MC simulation. Fer the verification of analysis results, a comparison study of the PFM analysis using other commercial code, mathematical method is carried out and a good agreement was observed between those results.

      • 티로파 정(염산티로프라미드 100 mg) 에 대한 안티모딕정의 생물학적 동등성

        Bioequivalence of two tiropramide tablets, test drug (Antimodic® tablet: Chong Kun Dang Pharm. Co.) and reference drug (Tiropa® tablet: Dae Woong Pharm. Co.), was evaluated according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty healthy male volunteers were divided randomly into two groups and administered the drug orally at the dose of 100 mg as tiropramide hydrochloride in a 2×2 crossover study. There was a week washout period between administrations. Blood samples were taken at predetermined time intervals for 10 hr and the plasma concentration of tiropramide HCl was determined by a GC/MS method. AUC_0-10hr (area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to 10 hr), C_max (maximum plasma drug concentration) and T_max (time to reach C_max) were estimated from the plasma drug concentration-time data. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed no difference in AUC_(0-10hr), C_max and T_max between two products. The apparent differences of these parameters between two products were less than 20% (i.e., 0.043, 6.430 and 8.929% for AUC_(0-10hr), C_max and T_max, respectively). The powers (1-β) for AUC_(0-10hr) and C_max were over 0.9. Minimal detectable differences (Δ) at α=0.05, 1-β=0.8 were less than 20% (i.e. 15.71 and 12.53% for AUC_(0-10hr) and C_max, respectively). The 90% confidence intervals (δ) for these parameters were also within ±20% (i.e. -9.15≤δ≤9.24 and -0.90≤δ≤13.77 for AUC_(0-10hr) and C_max, respectively). These results satisfied the criteria of KFDA guidelines for bioequivalence, indicating the two tablets of tiropramide were bioequivalent.

      • CO₂고정을 위한 화학독립영양미생물 Aeromonas sp. strain JS-1의 분리 및 특성

        The increase of CO2 in the atmosphere by fossil-fuel combustion has been recognized as a major cause of global warming. Thus many studies on CO2 removal from the combustion gas have been performed, and recently the techniques for biological CO2 fixation by photoautotrophs have also been developed, In this study, extensive screening was conducted to obtain micoorganism with high capability in fixing CO2, and its characteristics was investigated. As a result, a chemoautotrophs identified as a Aeromonas sp. strain JS-1 was isolated from the fresh water. The isolated strain used the molecular hydrogen and CO2 as an energy and a carbon source, respectively. Growth characteristics, which will be used in the development of a continuous culture system related in CO2 fixation, were examined in batch cultivation under conditions of various CO2 and NaCl concentrations, temperature, and pH. The results of the examination showed that the isolated strain had a good growth to high CO2 concentration(40%), indicating applicable in removing CO2 discharged from industries.

      • Lutembacher 증후군 환자 증례 보고

        Lutembacher's syndrome is rare combination of mitral stenosis (MS) and atrial septal defect (ASD). The hemodynamic interplay between the MS and ASD leads to wide variation of clinical presentation. Here we describe a 43-year-old female with Lutembacher's syndrome and tricuspid regurgitation with pulmonary hypertension, who underwent direct closure of ASD and tricuspid valvuloplasty successfully. We also reviewed other literatures in an effort to increase awareness of this condition.

      • 骨格筋 Protein Methylase Ⅱ에 關한 硏究

        Protein methylase Ⅱ (S-adenosy-L-methionine : protein-carboxyl 0-methyltransferase) has been, purifed 6,600-fold from bovine skeletal muscle and characterized. The purification procedures involved ammonium sulfate fractionation, Sephadex G-75 chromatography, S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine-Sepharose 4B chromatography, and hydroxyapatite chromatography. The enzyme showed an optimal pH around 6.0. It was heat-labile, being inactivated by heattreatment at 60℃ for 6 minutes. However, storage of the enzyme at -20℃ in the presence of 10% glycerol prevented the activity loss for 6 months. The apparent Km for S-adenosyl-L-methionine was 2.86 × 10 exp (6) M. Copper(Cu^2+) ion was potent noncompetitive inhibitor, the activity being completely inhibited b) 0.25 mM Cu^2+ and 1 mM Zn^2+. Most of the activity loss by copper and zinc ions were recovered by the addition of ethylenediamine tetracetate. The enzyme was also completely inhibited by 0.5 mM phydroxymercuribenzoate, which could be reversed by the addition of 10 mM 2-mercaptoethanol. The molecular weight of the enzyme was 24,000, as determined by Sephadex G-75 chromatography. Histone IIA, immunoglobulin A and soybean trypsin inhibitor were efficiently carboxylmethylated by the enzyme. Sarcoplasmic reticulum(SR) and sarcolemma(SL) of the skeletal muscle were also efficiently carboxylmethylated by the enzyme at a rate of 0.96 and 0.63 pmolesl mg protein/min of 3^H-CH_3, incorporation, respectively. Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of the carboxylmethylated SR and SL revealed multiple carboxylmethylated subfactions : SR resolved into the subfractions with molecular weight 100,000, 55,000, 22,000 and 14, 400, and SL into the subfractions with molecular weight 48,000, 22,000 and- 14, 400. Of these subfractions those with Mr=22, 000 were most strongly carboxylmethylated. Endogenous cAMP-dependent phoshorylation of SR occurred in the subfractions with Mr=55, 000, Mr=27, 000 and Mr=~14, 400, of which the fraction with Mr=27, 000 was most strongly phosphorylated. When SR was carboxylmethylated, the endogenous cAMP-dependent phosphorylation was decreased. SR exhibited relatively high Ca^2+-ATPase activity and oxalate-facilitated ATP-dependent 45^Ca^z+uptake. The carboxylmethylation and cAMP-dependent phosphorylation of SR increased the Ca^2+TATPase activity by 15% and by 29%, respectively. However, cAMP-dependent phosphorylation of SR which had been previously carboxylmethylated led to only 23% increase in the Ca^2+-ATPase activity. Both the carboxylmethylation and cAMP-dependent phosphorylation enhanced the steady-state rate as well as the initial rate of ^45Ca^2+-uptake. Kinetic analysis showed that the apparent Km and Vmax of Ca^2+ for ATP-dependent Ca^2+-uptake were 45μM and 35 nmoles/mg protein, respectively. Both the carboxylmethylation and cAMP-dependent phosphorylation of SR decreased the Km and increased the Vmax for the Ca^2+-uptake. These results suggest that protein methylase II might have some regulatory role in the calcium transport of sarcoplasmic reticulum.

        상악 구개측 중앙부에 매복된 과잉치

        과잉치는 치배 형성기에 정상 치판의 과도한 증식의 결과로 발생하며 산발적일 수도 있고 유전적일 수도 있다. 발생 빈도는 1~3%이며,2:1의 비율로 남아에게 호발한다. 주로 상악 전방부에서 많이 발견되며, 매복, 영구치의 위치 이상, 정중부 이개, 낭종, 비강으로의 맹출 등과 같은 다양한 합병증을 나타낼 수도 있다. 상악 전방부에서 발견되어지는 과잉치는 치축방향에 따라 위치가 결정되며 상악 전방부 과잉치의 1/3 정도는 역위 매복되어 맹출의 가능성이 없지만, 치낭의 치관 부위가 정상적인 관계로 존재하는 한 과잉치의 이동이 일어날 수 있다. 치아의 이동은 경구개, 소구치 부위, 비강까지도 일어날 수 있다. 또한 전상악 수직고경의 성장으로 시간이 지남에 라 외과적 접근이 어려워질 수 있다. 이에 본 두 증례에서는 역위 매복된 상악 전방부의 과잉치가 구개 측 중앙부까지 이동된 것을 발견하여 외과적으로 제거하였다. Supernumerary tooth develops as a result of abnormal proliferation of the dental lamina during the initiation stage of dental development. It could be a sporadic occurrence or a hereditary transmission. Supernumerary tooth occurs with a frequency of 1 to 3%, Generally, there is a 2:1 preference for boys. It is usually found in the anterior portion of the maxilla and may be associated with complications such as impaction, malposition of permanent teeth, formation of diastema, cysts and eruption into nasal cavity. The position of supernumerary tooth found in the anterior portion of the maxilla is determined by the axis of the tooth. One third of supernumerary tooth in the anterior portion of the maxilla has no possibility of eruption due to its invertedly impacted position. However, as long as the coronal part of the follicle remain intact, migration of supernumerary tooth is possible. The migration may occur into the palate, the premolar region, the sinus or the nasal cavity. Also, growth of vertical dimension of maxilla could make surgical approach difficult as time goes by. For this reason, we have found invertedly impacted mesiodens moved to the vault of the palate in the two cases, and extracted supernumerary tooth surgically.

      • 새로운 무기 응집제 개발에 따른 특성

        This study has carried out the coagulation tests for tannery wastewater including high-level suspended solids and organic matters to determine the optimum pH and coagulant dosage and to characterize several coagulants for coagulation. In case of optimum pH range test, we know that multi-coagulants are not only cost-effective but also applicable from acidic pH range to alkaline pH range widely, while single-coagulant are useful in limited pH range. Removal efficiency for using of the multi-coagulants appeared more efficient than that of single-coagulant. Especially, sulfates(alum-ferric sulfate : AFS & alum-magnesium sulfate : AMS) are more effective than chlorides (alum-ferric chloride : AFC & alum-magnesium chloride AMC). In comparison of residual turbidity related to settling time between alum and alum-ferric sulfate-magnesium sulfate(AFM), it took to 40 minutes using of alum but 5 minutes using of alum-ferric sulfate-magnesium sulfate(AFM) until constant residual turbidity are reached.

        This study proposes an optimized diffuser strake design that can improve driving performance for cars in high-speed driving mode. The speed of the vehicle is set to 160km/h, and the number of strake is set to 4, 6 and 8, and the angle of the diffuser is set to 4, 5 and 6 degrees. The arrangement of the strake is centered, edged and equally arranged. The optimized diffuser design induced with the Ansys Fluent analysis shows a drag coefficient of 16% less than the basic diffuser-free model at a diffuser angle of 6 degree, 8 strakes, and equal arrangement.

      • 骨格筋 S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine : Protein-Carboxyl O-Methyltransferase의 精製 및 特性 Protein-Carboxyl O-Methyltransferase from Bovine Skeletal Muscle

        S-Adenosyl-L-methionine : protein-carboxyl 0-methyltransferase(prorein methylase II) has been purified from bovine skeletal muscle approximately 6,600-fold with a 7% yield by combination of ammonium sulfate precipitate, Sephadex G-75 chromatography, S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine-Sepharose 4B chromatography and hydroxyapatite chromatography, and then its characterizations and possible roles were investigated. The enzyme showed a optimum pH around 6.0. It was heat labile, inactivated by heat-treatment at 60℃ for 6 minutes, and when stored at -20℃ in the presence 10% glycerol, its activity has almost stabilized in 6 months. Copper ion(Cu^2+)and zinc ion(Zn^2+)were a potent inhibitors, the activity being completely inhibited at 0.25 mM and 1 mM respectively, The inhibition of copper and zinc ions were recovered 94%, 75% of its activity by adding 4 mM of EDTA, respectively. The apparent Km value for S-adenosyl--L-methionine was 2.86 x 10^-6 M. Kinetic analysis of enzyme in the presence of 30 uM copper ion showed that the nature of the inhibition to the enzyme was noncompetitive considering that Km was constant and Vmax was decreased. Histone IIA, immunoglobulin A and trypsin inhibitor were relatively good substrates for the enzyme. The enzyme activity was completely inhibited by 0.5 mM p-hydroxymercuribenzoic acid, but all of the activity was recovered in adding 10 mM mercaptoethanol, and the molecular weight of the enzyme was 24,000. Sarcolemma and sarcoplasmic reticulum of the skeletal muscle were good substrates for this enzyme and ^3H-CH_3 group was incorporated to 0.63 and 0.96 pmoles/mg protein/min, respectively. The carboxylmethylation of the sarcolemma of the skeletal muscle occurred in the 5 protein fractions(M. W. : 45,000, 22,000, below 14,400etc.) and that of sarcoplasmic reticulum occurred in the 7 protein fractions (M. W. : 100,000, 45,000, 22,000, below 14, 400 etc) by SDS/polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Among these molecular weight 22,000 was strongly methylated. These results discuss that protein methylase Il may play some roles in regulating physiological function of sarcolemma and sarcoplasmic reticulum of skeletal muscle.
