      • THE HYDROTREATING OF BITUMEN

        The hydrotreatment of bitumen was studied in a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) at temperature of 430℃, pressure of 13.9 MPa, and LHSVs of 21 to 25 mL/(h.g catalyst). The Co-Mo catalysts were superior to the Ni-Mo catalysts for the hydrotreating of bitumen. The first order raft: constants of hydrodesulfurization (HDS) were obtained 5.6, 4.9 mL/(s.kg cal.) with Co-Mo and Ni-Mo catalysts, respectively. For hydrodenitrogenation (HDN), the values were 2.5, 2.8 mL/(s.kg cat.) with Co-Mo and Ni-Mo catalysts, respectively.

      • 무기질 흡착제를 이용한 증기상 유해 중금속의 고온제거특성

        This study investigated the kinetics of the sorption reaction for gaseous lead capture in the packed bed of calcined kaolin at 973~1173 K. The effects of bed temperature and gaseous reactant concentration on the sorption reaction rate were observed by the analysis of experimental data with a developed kinetic model. Detailed information on the lead-sorbent reaction were obtained by the XRD(X-ray diffraction) pattern analysis and the microscopic analysis of pre- and post-sorption sorbent samples. The reaction between metakaolinite, which is the calcination product of kaolin minerals, and the gas-phase lead generated stable metal-mineral complexes(PbAl₂Si₂O_(8)). An increase in bed temperature resulted in an increase of capturing rate, but it had no effect on maximum uptake. The order of sorption reaction with respect to the lead concentration, m, was determined to be 1.67. The activation energy, E_(a), was estimated as 10.16 kcal/mol, according to the Arrhenius relationship.

        현대중국어 양태조동사의 부정형식에 관한 고찰

        본 논문은 현대중국어의 조동사들을 대상으로 각 조동사들의 양태의미를 분류하고 그 부정형식 및 양태의미와 부정형식의 상관관계에 대해 고찰한 연구이다. 먼저, 조동사 10개(yao, neng, hui, keyi, xiang, yinggai, keneng, dei, gan, yuanyi)를 사용도 등급에 따라 세 가지로 분류하고 해당 조동사들의 양태의미와 부정형식에 대해 살펴보았는데, 사용도 등급에 따른 특징이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 사용도 등급이 높을수록 양태의미가 비교적 다양하게 쓰이고 있으며 사용도 등급이 낮아질수록 나타내는 양태의미가 줄어든다는 것이다. 다음으로 조동사들의 양태의미와 그 부정형식의 상관관계에 대해 살펴보았는데, 동적양태 의미만을 나타내는 조동사들과 인식양태 중에서 ‘개연성’을 나타내는 조동사들은 부정형식이 대칭적이고, 인식양태 중에 ‘가능성’과 ‘필연성’을 나타내는 조동사들은 부정형식이 비대칭적이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 부정형식이 비대칭적인 조동사들에 대해 살펴보았는데, 이들의 비대칭적인 부정형식 또한 전체 조동사의 체계 안에서 나름의 규칙성을 가지고 있음을 살펴보았다. In the present paper, I classify the modality meanings of each auxiliary verb used in modern Chinese and examine the negative forms as well as the relationship between the negative forms and modality meanings. First of all, I categorize 10 auxiliary verbs (yao, neng, hui, keyi, xiang, yinggai, keneng, dei, gan, yuanyi) based on the level of usage and examine their modality meanings and negative forms. There are characteristics dependent on the level of usage. As such, higher level of usage entails diversity in modality meanings whereas lower level of usage is followed by limited range of modality meanings. Next, I examine the relationship between the modality meanings and negative forms. The auxiliary verbs with dynamic modality and the auxiliary verbs which indicate “probability” of epistemic modality have symmetric negative forms. On the contrary, the auxiliary verbs which indicate “possibility” and “necessity” of epistemic modality have asymmetric negative forms. Lastly, I examine the auxiliary verbs with asymmetric negative forms. I find that these asymmetric negative forms also have certain regularity within the overall system of auxiliary verbs.

        중국 지역 중국·티베트어의 어순 유형별 분포 분석

        This article investigates the frequency distributions of word order types of minor Sino-Tibetan languages spoken in China--including Tai-Kadai and Hmong-Mien languages-on the basis of exhaustive data collection and an empirical analysis. The World Atlas of Languages Structures (WALS), the largest database of typological linguistic information, includes only about a dozen complete records for word order types of minor ST, TK, and HM languages in China. Checking all possible accessible grammatical descriptions of minority languages published in Chinese, this paper presents data on detailed word order types for 53 minority languages. It particularly presents a further discussion of the position of numeral classifiers which have been ignored in typological studies of word order, even though their presence is a highly prevalent and characteristic feature of East Asian languages. It also discusses the distinctive distributional patterns of the order of adjective and noun and the order of relative clause and noun. The word order data created for this study will serve as a resource for future typological research.

        Ca - Ni - K 촉매를 이용한 메탄의 산화적 짝반응 ( Oxidative Coupling ) 에 대한 연구

        본 연구에서는 메탄의 coupling 반응에서 Ca-Ni-K 산화물 촉매의 원소비 변화에 따른 촉매의 활성도 및 C₂에 대한 선택도를 고찰하였다. 또한 최적반응조건에서 물이 본 반응에 미치는 영향과 촉매표면의 산소에 의한 산화상태의 변화효과도 함께 검토하였다. 실험결과 Ca₄NiK_(0.1)OX 촉매가 탄화수소 선택도에 있어서 가장 우수한 것으로 확인되었으며 Ca₃NiK_(0.1)OX 촉매가 반응활성도에 있어서 가장 우수하였다. 반응물에 H₂O를 첨가하면 탄화수소의 선택도와 반응전화율을 함께 증가시킬 수 있었으며 촉매표면의 산화상태가 촉매의 활성도 및 선택도에 중요한 인자인 것으로 나타났다. In this study, catalytic activity and selectivity to C₂ hydrocarbons on oxidative coupling of methane over Ca-Ni-K oxide catalysts were studied by varying the atomic ratio of the catalyst. In addition, effects of water as an additive reactants and the effect oxidative pretreatment of surface on the catalysts performance were investigated. It was established that, for the methane coupling reaction Ca₃NiK_(0.1)OX proved to be a better catalyst in catalytic activity, Ca₄NiK_(0.1)OX was best among the catalysts tested. As far as hydrocarbon selectivity is concerned water as an additive reactant enhanced hydrocarbon selectivity and the reaction conversion simultaneously, and it was found that oxidation state of catalyst surface is an important factor for catalytic activity and selectivity of this reaction.

        텔레로봇 작업의 특성이 시각표시장치의 유형 결정에 미치는 영향 연구

        The effects of task characteristics on the relative efficiency of visual display dimension were studied using a simulated tele-robotic task. Through a conventional method of task analysis. the tele-robotic task was divided into two categories: the task element requiring focused attention (FA task) and the task element requiring global attention (CA task). Time-ta-completion data were collected for a total of 120 trials involving 10 participants. For the CA task. there was no significant difference between the multiple two-dimensional (20) display and the three-dimensional (3D) monocular display. For the FA task. however. the multiple 20 display was superior to the 3D monocular display. The results suggest that the characteristics of a given task have a considerable effect on the choice of display dimensionality and the multiple 3D display is better for human operators to effectively judge depth if the task requires frequent use of focused attention.

        The Inhibition of Insulin-stimulated Proliferation of Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells by Rosiglitazone Is Mediated by the Akt-mTOR-P70S6K Pathway

        Purpose: Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) are known to inhibit the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) by increasing the activity of p27Kip1 and retinoblastoma protein (RB). However, the upstream signaling mechanisms associated with this pathway have not been elucidated. The Akt-mTOR-P70S6 kinase pathway is the central regulator of cell growth and proliferation, and increases cell proliferation by inhibiting the activities of p27Kip1 and retinoblastoma protein (RB). Therefore, we hypothesized in this study that rosiglitazone inhibits VSMC proliferation through the inhibition of the Akt-TOR-P70S6K signaling pathway. Materials and Methods: Rat aortic smooth muscle cells (RAoSMCs) were treated with 10μM of rosiglitazone 24 hours before the addition of insulin as a mitogenic stimulus. Western blot analysis was performed to determine the inhibitory effect of rosiglitazone treatment on the Akt- mTOR-P70S6K signaling pathway. Carotid balloon injury was also performed in Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) diabetic rats that were pretreated with 3 mg/kg of rosiglitazone. Results: Western blot analysis demonstrated significant inhibition of activation of p-Akt, p-m-TOR, and p-p70S6K in cells treated with rosiglitazone. The inhibition of the activation of the p-mTOR-p-p70S6K pathway seemed to be mediated by both the upstream PI3K pathway and MEK-ERK complex. Conclusion: The inhibitory effect of rosiglitazone on RAoSMC proliferation in vitro and in vivo is mediated by the inhibition of the Akt-mTOR-P70S6K pathway.
