Cefodizime, a third cephalosporine, was originally developed for use in infectious disease as an advanced antibiotics. Cefodizime has also been known to play a meaningful role in activating natural killer properties of immune cells as well as enhancing immunological parameters such as phagocytosis. Furthermore, as the infection can result in remarkable changes for homeostatic mediators, it is expected that cefodizime may initiate the strong immuno- modualtory effect. In the present work, we investigated whether cefodizime has a biphasic effect of anti-bacteria and immunomodulation via macrophage. For the study, we isolated mouse peritoneal macrophages and treated with cefodizime 10㎍/㎖, 50㎍/㎖, 100㎍/㎖, IFN-v 10U/㎖.+LPS l㎍/㎖ Cells were then incubated for 4, 8, 12, and 24hrs to analysis the expression of IL-1, IL-6, IL-12 mRNA from macrophages. The results showed that cytokines were expressed more than that of control in a time-dependent manner and 100㎍/㎖ cefodizime group showed the greatest expression as much as the positive control (IFN-v+LPS)showed at 24h. In conclusion, cefodizime can play a significant role for the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, IL-1, IL-6, and IL-12 in earlier stage so that macrophages and other immune cells can response to the infectious substances, immediately. Moreover, when such pro-inflammatory cytokines are increased, we can also expect that the enhancement of cell-cell interaction of NK cell, CTL and B cell by cefodizime can affect the immunomodulatory effect along with its major role in anti-bacterial effect.

The epithelia of epididymis are composed of principal cells, basal cells, light cells and narrow cells. The principal cells are secretory cells that Golgi complex and rough endoplasmic reticulum were well developed in the cytoplasm. The light cells are secretory cells which exist in the corpus and cauda of the epididymis. It is observed the number of secretory granules in the cytoplasm. The basal cells are situated on the basal membrane. In proportions to cytoplasm, it has large nucleus and. a few cell organelles exist in the cytoplasm. The narrow cells have several secretory vesicles and electron-dense cytoplasm. It is suggested that narrow cells are degenerating cells.

Recently, a wide variety of maladaptation, such as school refusal or mental disorder, has remarkably increased in high school students in Korea and Japan. The increase of stressful events which students experience in their school life is regarded as one of the causes of this phenomenon. The previous study which attempted to clarify the school stress process(Shimada et al., 1993, 1995, 1996) developed the school stress(Emotional Response, Psychological Response, School Maladjustment, Irrational Beliefs Scale) scales for high school students to assess both the frequency and the averseness of events which students encounter in their daily school life. 659 Korean and 211 Japanese high school students completed the stress process scale. The main results were as follows. (a) Korean students evaluated the Emotional Response Scale at a higher level than Japanese did. (b) Korean students evaluated all the Psychological Response Scales at a higher level than Japanese did. (c) Japanese student evaluated School Maladjustment scales (study evaluation, club activities evaluation) at a higher than Koreans did. But at the school evaluation scale is the response diametrically opposed. (d) Korean students evaluated all the Irrational Beliefs Scales than Japanese did. In summary, Korean students felt the events in high school were more stressful than Japanese did.

The catalytic rate constants of hydrophobic catalysts developed for the removal of tritium mainly generated in the pressurized heavy water reactors should be measured. A recycle reactor was designed and built for characterzing the long-term behavior of the catalyst performance at the various temperatures and gas velocities.The catalytic rate constants were measured at the apparent gas velocity of 0.5 m/s and the temperature of 60℃. The initial catalytic constant was 8.44×10^-4mol/g.sec. This value is much greater than that considered in the design of Wolsong Tritium Removal Facility.

이소매복된 하악 제2소구치의 자가치아이식을 이용한 치험례

악골내 이소매복된 치아로 인해 유치의 만기잔존, 교합이상과 같은 교정적인 문제가 발생할 경우 그 해결책으로 주기적 관찰, 최소한의 개입, 교정적 견인, 발치, 그리고 환자 자신의 매복치아를 이용하는 자가이식술 등을 들 수 있다. 자가치아이식은 치아를 구강내의 한 위치에서 다른 발치와나 외과적으로 형성된 치조와로 이동시키는 술식으로, 치아가 교정력을 가할 수 없는 위치에 존재하거나 치아 이동에 제한이 있어 통상적인 치료가 불가능할 경우에 발거에 앞서 고려할 수 있는 방법이다. 자가치아이식은 치료기간을 단축시키고, 치근 형성이 완료되지 않은 어린 환자의 경우 이식된 새로운 위치에서 치근 형성이 이루어지며, 새로운 치조골의 형성을 유도할 수 있다. 본 증례는 하악 우측 제2소구치의 매복과 하악 우측 제2유구치의 만기잔존을 주소로 본원에 내원한 11세 여아로, 하악 우측 제2소구치의 매복의 깊이가 깊고, 방향이 교정적 견인에 불리하다는 점, 미성숙 치근 발육 상태와, 만기잔존한 유구치로 인해 공간 상실이 없다는 점 등을 고려하여 자가치아이식을 시행한 뒤, 1년간의 주기적 관찰 결과, 양호한 결과를 얻어 이에 보고하는 바이다. In the case of the impacted teeth, the clinician has to consider development of tooth, site of impaction, eruption path, and cooperation of patient. Treatment options for the management of impacted teeth are separated into four categories: observation, intervention, orthodontic or surgical relocation and extraction. Autotransplantation may be defined as the transplantation of embedded, impacted or erupted teeth, from one site to another in the same individual into extraction site or surgically prepared sockets. Autotransplantation ensures preservation of natural tooth, induction of alveolar bone growth and root development, offers one of the fastest and most economically feasible means in the replacement of young patients' missing teeth. This case presents a malpositioned impacted mandibular premolar of an 11-year-old girl. It was thought that orthodontic traction was difficult because of its unfavorable impacted position. Therefore the tooth was treated by autotransplantation, we can observe good healing pattern during 12 months.

This paper aims to make clear the fundamental differences between the constitutions of two political systems, constitutional democracy and communism. (1) Fundamental Human Rights The recognition and the protection of fundamental liberties are the essences of the political system of constitutional democacy. The reality of individual liberties is the only reliable criterion that differentiates the two political systems, since the institutional apparatus of both government, assemblies, elections, parties, bureaucracies have become stereotyped to the point of identity. Recognition or nonrecognition of fundemental guaranties are closely related to the ideological telos of either system. In the constitutional democracy they crystallize the supreme values of human self-realization and dignity. In the communist states they are denied legitimacy not only because they may function as foci of opposition against monolithic power but also because they could obstruct the ideology of economic planning under collectivism. The idelolgical foundation and functional purpose of classical fundamentalism underwent a fa -reaching transformation in the Marxian society. The Russian Revolution preaches and practices the primacy of the collectivity over the individual. Instesd of being "inalienable" interpreted as obligations of the state toward the laboring masses. The attitude of Marxism in the U.S.S.R. and the so-called "People's Democracies" toward fundamental liberties is altogether different. All constitutions in the Soviet orbit contain elaborate statements on fundamental rights of the citizens, characteristically coupled with provisions concerning their duties toword the state and the community. Civil liberties in the classical sense, which the constitution of communist states merely summarizes, are overshadowed by the new social and economic rights. The guaranty of the civil rights proper is hedged in by the rubber clause that they are guaranteed " in conformity with the interests of the working class" and "in order to strenghthen the socialist system". Especially political rights of the suffrage are converted into compulsory mass participation in the political process directed by the party hierarchy. And its single party (communist party)was the straight negation of all political liberty. (2) Patterns of Governament In the modern democratic-constitutional state the essence of the power process consists in the attempt to establish an equilibrium between the various competitive plural forces within in state society, with due regard to the free unfolding of the human personality. In communist state, social control and political power are monopolized by a single power holder, subordinating the individual to the ideological requirements of the group domination the state. The basic difference between the two political systema conists in whether, in the various stages of the governmental process, political power, is distributed among and shared by several independent power holders or whether political power is concentrated in and monoploized by a single power holder, be it an individual person, and assembly, or a party. Assembly government system revived in the Stalin constitution of 1936 in the U.S.S.R. from where it spread, after the Second World War, to all satellite states, as well as East Germany, Red China, North Korea. No communist state fails to conform to this standard pattern. Assembly government, by its own biological laws. easily transforms itself into a regime in which a single power holder exercises the monopoly of political power. This may well be the intrinsic reason for the communist preference. By necessity the communist state is a plice state. Another indispensable instrument of social control is the single party. The governmental techniques of a communist regime are necessarily authoritarian. But the regime does much more than exclude the power addressees from their legitimate share in the formation of the will of the state. It attempts to mold the private life, the soul, the spirit and the mores of the citizens to a dominant ideology that the various instrumentalities of the power process force on the non-conformists.

GT rotary file을 이용한 만곡 근관형성시 작업 효율 및 file 변형 발생에 관한 연구

Root canal preparation process is of utmost importance in successful treatment of root canal. Also, one of the most important purpose of the root canal preparation is to enlarge the root canal three dimensionally without changing the curvature of the root canal. However, as the curvature of the root canal increases, there are many difficulties involved in formation of optimum root canal. Therefore, in order to solve the above mentioned problems, new developments in methods of root canal preparation and equipments for such purposes were made. Recently, vigorous studies about newly introduced engine-driven nitckel-ti-tanium rotary file are conducted. As shown in research results to dates, it is well established that the use of nickel-titanium file is better suited for curved root canal than stainless steel file in maintaining the curvature of root canal and reducing the deformation of root canal. However, it is also acknowledged that there are a few discrepancies in research results according to protocol, due to failure to remove variables in experiments. In addition, although it is recommended by the manufacturer that the GT rotary file should maintain a low rotational speed of 150∼350rpm and 'light pressure' as light as not to break the lead of a pencil, academic studies about the vertical force which is not yet standardized are not sufficiently explored. Therefore, this research devised and utilized a special research equipment to standardize the appropriate range of vertical force for GT rotary file through experiments by breaking of the lead of a pencil as expressed by the manufacturer and to accurately measure factors involved through repeating and recreating the environment of root canal preparation. Forming nine experimental groups by varying the vertical forces (150g, 220g, 300g) and rpm (150rpm, 250rpm, 350rpm), the effects of changing vertical forces and rpm on working efficiency were measured in terms of time expended in root canal preparation by crown-down method using a transparent resin block with 35 degree curvature and GT rotary file (z-test). The following research using this special research equipment that involved nine experimental groups and varying the vertical force for root canal preparation from 300g which is within the normal vertical force range to 700g and 1000g which fall outside the normal rpm range. The results were as follows : 1.Analysis of the experiment results revealed that the tome spent in root canal preparation decreased as the vertical forces and rpm increased (p<0.05). Also, the effects of rpm were greater than those of the vertical forces within the normal vertical force range (β-weight test) . 2.Observation of the deformation of GT rotary file revealed that deformation increases in a direct correlation with the vertical force increase and in a reverse correlation with the rpm decrease, In the case of the vertical forces close to the normal range, the probability of GT rotary file deformation were quite different depending on the rpm changes. In the case of◎eater tier◎cal forces, the occurrences of deformation of the file were more frequent regardless of the rpm changes. 3.Deformation and breakage of file were also commonly observed in the expended time measurement experiments and GT rotary file deformation experiments in which low speed rpm (150rpm) was used and at the curved portion of the resin block. 소아간질로 오인된 Paroxysmal Kinesigenic Chreoathetosis 1례

Paroxysmal kinesigenic choreoathetosis is a rare, involuntary movement disorder. It is characterized by a sudden onset of unilateral or occasionally bilateral choreoathetosis or dystonic posturing of limbs and precipitated by sudden movement. Sporadic and more, commonly, familial cases have been reported. Onset occurs most often during childhood. Response to anticonvulsant such as phenytoin is usually excellent. We experienced a case of Paroxysmal kinesigenic choreoathetosis in a 7 years-old male patient who had sudden dystonic posture of upper limbs and choreoathetoid movement whenever he started to move suddenly. These episodes occurred 6-7 times in a day , each lasting 10 seconds , during which time the patient was alert, perfectly. The neurologic examination was normal and brain magnetic resonance imaging study and electroencephalograph were normal. The laboratory findings including serum electrolyte, fasting blood sugar were normal range. He was taken phenytoin 100㎎ per day and the frequency of attacks diminished. The phenytoin dosage was increased to 150㎎ per day and attacks completely controlled with this dosage.
