침엽수재(針葉樹材)의 방사조직에 관한 연구 : 방사조직지표치(放射組織指標値)의 상호관련성 Mutural Relation on the Indicators of Wood Rays in Coniferous Woods

In the present paper I described the relations of wood ray indicators such as ray height, ray width, number of rays per 0.25㎟, ray spacing and fusiform ray height on the stem of Pinus koraiensis and Larix leptoltpis grown at the Experiment Forest of Kangweon National University. The results may be summarized as follows. 1. The number of rays and ray spacing were generally decreased with the increase of ray height on the sample woods. 2. According to the tree species the patterns of varition of rap width with the increase of roe height were different, namely the relation between ray width and ray height showed some positive correlation on Pinns korniensis and negative on Larix leptolepis. 3. It was recognized that tire variation of fusiform ray height due to the increase of ray height indicated two patterns(the increasing and constant regions) in sampler woods. This boundary seemed to appear at six cells o ray height on Pinus koraiensis and nine cells on Larix lepolepis. 4. The relation between fusiform ray height and number of rags had a negative correlation on Pinus koraiensis, but this tendancy was not obvious on Larix leptolepis. And ray spacing and ray width due to the increase of fusiform ray height were generally decreased. 5. On the whole the values of ray spacing and width became gradually larger in proportion to the increase of number of rays. 6. According to the increase of ray spacing the values of ray width also increased gradually. But this tendency was more clear on Pinus koraiensis than larix leptolepis.

좌주관상동맥및 좌전하챙지기시부의 수술적 혈관 성형술

좌주관상동맥및 좌전하챙지기시부의 협착이 있는 환자에서 수술적 혈관성형술을시행하면 기존의 관 상동맥우회술에 비해 혈류방향이 전향적이 되어 심근으로의 산소공급에 도움을 주며, 향후 원위관상동맥협착이 생길 경우 경피적혈관성 형술이 시행 가능하고, 이식 편을 사용하지 않음으로 이 차로 관상동맥우 회술 시행 시용이 하다. 한림대학교 강동성심병원 흉부외과에서는 1994년 7월부터 1995년 12월가지 55례에서 관상동맥우회술을 시행하였고, 이중 7례의 좌주관상퐁맥 협착환자에서 좌주관상동맥성형술을 시행하였다. 좌주관상동 맥의 협착의 정도는 60-95%였고, 동반병변으로는 좌전하행지기시부 협착이 2례, 우관상동맥협착이 1 례, 둔각지 협 착이 1례 였다. 수술은 환자자신의 심낭 또는 우심낭을 이용하여, 좌주관상동맥 절개부위를 확장하였고, 좌전하행 지 기시부 협착이 동반된 2례에선 절개선을 좌전하행지의 협착원위부가지 연장하여 좌전하행지기시부도 함께 확장하였다 우관상동맥협착이 동반된 1례에선 우측내유동맥으로 관상동맥 우회 술을 같이 시행하였다. 수술후 심근경색과 조기사망은 없었고, 1례에서 심전도상 57-T파의 이상소견이 猾暳퓸\ulcorner추가로 좌 전하행지와 둔각지에 관상동맥 우회 술을 시행하였다. 퇴원전 시행한 관상동맥조영술상 7례에서 확장된 좌주관상동맥이 관찰되었고, 2례에서 경미한 봉합부협착이 보였으나, 흉통의 재발없이 외래추적관찰중이다. 이상에서, 좌주관상동맥협착 환자중 원위관상동맥에 이상이 없는 경우수술적 혈관성형술로 직접 확장하는것이 기존의 관상동맥 우회술의 대안이 될 수 있다. Surgical angioplasty of isolated stenosis of the left main coronary artery(LMCA) restores a more physiologic flow to the myocardium, allows percutdneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) of distal coronary stenoses at a later stage, and is a less time consuming and convenient procedure than the conventional coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG) . Between Jul. 1994 and Dec. 1995, 7 surgical angioplasty had been performed. LMCA stenoses involved ostium in 2 patients, middle third in 3, and dis- tal third in 2. In 2 patients, the origin of left anterior descending coronary artery was involved in conjunction with LMCA. T e additional coronary artery stenoses were found in 2 cases. One patient was emergently operated after coronary angiography following his cardiac arrest. LMCA was approached anteriorly in all patients. The pulmonary artery was transected in 3 patients for a better exposure. The onlay patch consisted or autologous or bovine pericardium. There was no postoperative myocardial infarction or mortality. Left ventricular functions were well preserved in all patients. Postoperative coronary angiography revealed widely patent LMCA in 5 cases, and mild narrowing of distal anastomotic sites in 2 cases. Provided that well defined indications are followed correctly, surgical angioplasty can be a safe alternative to conventional CABG.

Intra-aortic balloon pump[IABP] 치험: 12례 보고

Intra-aortic balloon pump [IABP] was applied to 12 patients between July, 1987, and September, 1990. The 12 patients included 8 who were assisted with IABP intraoperatively; 4 patients used IABP postoperatively. 8 patients could not be withdrawn from cardiopulmonary bypass [CPB], but 6 of them [75%] were able to separate from CPB with IABP. They all were withdrawn from the balloon. Four [50%] of them are hospital survivors, and alive at the time of this report. 4 additional patients were assisted with IABP, postoperatively. 2 of them [50Yo] were withdrawn from the balloon but died. The overall survival and balloon weaning rates are 33.3% [4/12] % 66.7% [8/12], respectively. IABP was most effective when applied early to patients who had transient and reversible injury to the myocardium.

판막상부 대동맥 협착증의 수술요법

Supravavular aortic stenosis is a congenital narrowing of the ascending aorta just distal to the level of the origins of the coronary arteries, that may be localized or diffuse. Five patients with supravalvular aortic stenosis were operated upon between July, 1986 arid June, 1990. Four of these patients were William`s syndrome [mental retardation, elfin face], and one was isolated supravalvular aortic stenosis. Preoperative diagnosis of the supravalvular aortic stenosis was made by left side cardiac catheterization and angiocardiography. There are three types of supravalvular aortic stenosis such as membranous, hourglass and hypoplastic. Four of our patients were of hourglass type, and one was hypoplastic type. Patch aortoplasty was performed in all cases. Preoperative systolic gradients ranged from 45 to 1SO mmHg [average 102.6 mmHg]: postoperative gradients ranged from 0 to 75 mmHg [average 39 mmHg]. The patient of hypoplastic type has been suffered from mild exercise intolerance even after the operation, and the postoperative echocardiography revealed the systolic gradient of 100 mmHg [preoperative 180 mmHg]. The results of surgery for hourglass type were excellent. But the patient with hypoplastic form would be benefited from some modifications of the operation.

Henry James was interested in psychology and read many books on it, which ,were written by his brother William, one of the world-famous psychologists those days. It is sure that he was much influenced on psychology by William. James wrote many famous interesting psychological novels. Particularly in 1898 he issued "The Turn of the Screw," which has such techniques of literature as stream of consciousness, description of ghosts, in the American realism. Also in this novel there are religious mood, scene, and background. We can, therefore, take approaches to it on different sides: Freudian psychoanalysis, a simple ghost story, or religion. According to the well-known critic Robert Heilman, Bly itself is almost an Eden with its lawn and bright flowers. Miles and Flora are beautiful and innocent. They are symbolic children as the ghosts are symbolic ghosts. Even the names themselves have a representative quality as the rest of James's characters often do: Miles-the soldier, the archetypal male; Flora-the flower, the essential female. Such innocent children were, however, getting more and more depraved by committing sin as Adam and Eve. One day the young pupil Miles was dismissed from school. The insane new governess believed that the children were getting tainted by holding communion with ghosts of the late servant Peter Quint and the late governess Miss Jessel (Miles with the ghost of Peter Quint and Flora with that of Miss Jessel). In the end Flora who had a fever was sent to London with the housemaid Mrs. Grose. Miles was left at Bly with the new governess. Miles confessed to her that he had burnt her letter after reading it without her permission, which she would have sent to her employer in London to solve the difficult problem of Miles's dismissal from school. It was so difficult that she wrote the letter, even if she had promised the employer not to trouble him: neither appeal nor complain nor write about anything: only meet all questions herself, take the whole thing over and let him alone. Of course as an bachelor, he was only one relative of the orphans Miles and Flora. He was a single uncle of them. He immensely pitied the poor children and had done all he could. He had in particular sent them down to his other house Bly in the country, the proper place for them, parting even with his own servants to wait on them. Miles confessed the sin to her, and then the ghost of Pater Quint like the Serpent invading the Garden of Eden was standing at the window in front of them. When Miles was on the point of confessing the other sin committed to be expelled from school, his little heart stopped. Just before his heart's stopping he regretted that he had used to his friends in school the language picked up from Peter Quint. He had resentment against him: "Peter Quint-you devil!" So his death is not sacrifice by neither the ghost nor the insane new governess but a sublime one. Because it accords with the Creed of Christianity as sin pays its wage-death. His death is also the one for his soul to be redeemed as well as for the theme of salvation, emphasized by the writer. In other words the governess was a country-bred, young girl of the age of twenty. She was lacking of experience in her life since then. In such a state she took over the difficult task from her employer, obliged to wander in a labyrinth. Because she was created and destined to do so as a character and narrator by the author Henry James. The reason is that he would like to develop the story with the intention of giving expression to his theme such as Christian form, "depravity→ sin→confession→death→salvation."

Hemingway 문학의 Christian Symbolism 에 관한 연구

If we read Hemingway$quot;s novels and stories more attentively after knowing his growth process, we may find them so autobiographical. He was brought up in a Christian family. When he was three years old, he was baptized at the First Congregational Church, where he became a stalwart pillar of the Plymouth League for young people. He made wide use of Christian symbolism in his literary works, for example, Krebs who had been a Methodist collegian listed in the Marines in 1917, which is the same year Hemingway joined the army. After Krebs got out of uniform, one day he knelt down beside the dining-room table and prayed with his mother. Robert Jordan remembers that he was brought up in a Christian family and that he was to get the train at Red Lodge to go away to school for the first time, when tin the platform his father kissed him good-bye and prayed, $quot;May the Lord watch between thee and me while we are sent the one from the other.$quot; Anselmo prays for the repose of the souls of his comrades who were killed by the enemy. Finally Jordan faces the death and says to himself, $quot;Let them have Cod. They claim God. Certainly I miss Him, having been brought up in religion. But now a man must be responsible to himself.$quot; Jake Barnes who is impotent attends divine service, praying for bullfighters and fishing but his girl friend Brett doesn't. So we are able to approach The Sun Also Rises in the view that Jake is Hemingway' Fisher King and Jake is fishing in the river at Burguete as a ritual far recovery. Catherine is dying from loss of blood in childed, therefore Henry prays God that I-le would nat let her die. Henry recollects that once in camp he put a log on top of the fire and it was full of arts, thinking at the time that it was the end of the world and a splendid chance to be a messiah and lift the log off the fire and throw it out where the ants could get off onto the ground but he did not do anything but throw a tin cup of water on the log, so that he would have the cup empty to put whisky in before he added water to it. Harry Morgan was carried' and operated at the Marine Hospital in Key West and his wife and daughters pray for him. Besides Helen tells Cordon that her father meet to mass because her mother wanted him to and he did his Easter duty for her and for Our Lord and that she had not any religion but she was going to have one again. We may appreciate that Santiago is Spanish for James-the fisherman, apostle, and martyr from the Sea Galilee, on the other hand The Old Man and 65e Sea is Christian in context, art the old fisherman is suggestive of Christ. Santiago and Manolin's say that they have faith but Manolin's father doesn't, which means that faith is one of three virtues 'faith, hope and love' of Christianity.

When the perforation of intrathoracic esophagus occurs in the presence of preexisting esophageal stricture, aggressive and definitive therapy often provides the only chance for patient salvage. Two adults suffering from intrathoracic esophageal perforation with underlying stricture underwent transhiatal esophagectomy. The perforations were due to esophageal instrumentation. Restoration of alimentary continuity with a primary cervical pharyngogastric anastomosis was carried out in one patient. Another patient underwent a cervical esophagostomy and had a subsequent colonic interposition 3 months later.
