        Combining Timber Production and Wood Processing for Increasing Forestry Income: A Case Study of 6th Industrialization in Korean Forestry

        This study was aimed to analyze the increased forestry incomes by combining timber production and wood processing, which is one of 6th industrialization types in Korean forestry. The selected household has been engaged in forestry for two generations and they produce timber and associated wood products in their own facility. The wood products include dimension lumber, interior wood material, cutting board, and cube chips, the household also utilize logging and sawmill residues as well as seed and seedlings as by-products. Incomes and expenses that have been incurred on individual processes of the sequential timber production and wood processing were surveyed, and we analyzed the economic outcomes of entire business. The results of this study indicate that the gross income of the household is 122.3 million Korean won and the net income is 93.6 million Korean won. The net income of the household is approximately 2.8 times higher than the average net income of whole households in the forestry of Korea in 2016, which is approximately 4.3 times higher than that of households that have been particularly engaged in timber production over the country. We found that the 6th industrialization by combining the two sequential processes creates approximately 3.2 times as much added value compared to the case relying on timber production only.

        Thymoma is associated with myasthenia gravis, Pure red cell aplasia, and autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, and hypogammaglobulinemia. It's association with aplastic anemia is rare and aplastic anemia appearing after surgical removal of thymoma is especially rare. The authors hereby report a case of aplastic anemia occuring in a patient who was diagnosed with thymoma and myasthenia gravis and had the tumor surgically removed. The patient was treated with anti-thymocyte globulin, cyclosporin, and prednisolone, and showed partial remission with hematologic improvements after 12 months.

        Selective hydrogenation of 1,3-butadiene in C4 raffinate was carried out in fixed bed reactor using Pd/a1unina catalysts, Concentration of 1,3-butadiene in C4 raffinate could be reduced under 100 ppm.The life of dimerization catalyst using C4 raffinate after selective hydrogenation was longer than that of dimerization catalyst without selective hydrogenation.It was found that dilution of olefin concentration in feed was effective to increase dimerization catalyst life.

        초기태아 뇌조직의 기관형 구상체의 형성에 관한 연구

        The present study investigated whether organotypic spheroids derived from human fetal brain tissue, cultured at agarose-overlay media may serve as an optimal in vitro model for multidisciplinary studies in human neurobiology, particularly in the fields of tumor invasiveness and its biochemical mechanism, using light microscopy. electron microscopy and immunohistochemical staining Eight fetal brain tissues of 8-9 weeks of gestation were minced and explanted into agarose-coated culture wells. After three to five days these human fetal brain tissue fragments emerged as spheroids and could be maintained as organotypic spheroids for up to seven weeks. Light and electron microscopic studies of spheroids demonstrated that most cells were poorly differentiated and there were no definite mature neurons or glial cells after enough culture time, but some cells showed certain evidence suggestive of differentiation to neurons or glial cells immunohistochemical staining for glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) and neuron specific enolase(NSE) demonstrated that NSE-positive cells were oval or spherical cells containing abundant cytoplasm and GFAP-positive cells were fibrillary cytoplasma-containing cells which showed some evidence suggestive of differentiation to glial cells by light microscopy. In future, adding some modifications in culture, this organotypic spheroids derived from the human fetal brain may serve as an optimal in vitro model for neurobiology, especially in the field of studies on tumor invasiveness through co-culture with microtumor spheroids.

        We have examined indirectly the expression of α1-antitrypsin by determined the TIC(trypsin inhibitory capacity) in the cultured medium of the amnionic ephithelial cell and trophoblasts. The TIC of the cells was cultured in the presence of supernatent by treatment of neutrophils with(CNMP) or without(CNM) phorbol myristate acetate(PMA) is identical in both coultured cells. By the western blotting analysis, the substance possess the TIC in the cultured medium is identified to the α1-antitrypsin. From these results, the cytokines secreted by the neutrophils did not affected the secretion of α1-antitrypsin in the both cultured cells. But, some unidentified proteinases cleaved the α1-antitrypsin. Thus the neutrophil proteinases might be involved in premature rupture of the membranes(PROM) by any means.

        Mirizzi's syndrome is a rare complication of the gallstone disease, characterized by narrowing of the common bile duct (CBD) due to chronic extrinsic compression of an impacted gallstone in the cystic duct or the neck of the gallbladder. The impacted gallstone may erode into the bile duct, causing cholecystocholedochal fistula. The patients generally have history of repeated attacks of jaundice and abdominal pain. But there is no report about asymptomatic Mirizzi syndrome with cholecystocholedochal fistula which were found incidentally. So herein we present our clinical experience with a case of asymptomatic Mirizzi syndrome with cholecystocholedochal fistula in a young female.

      • 심전도 모니터링 계측 시스템의 개발에 관한 연구

        A wearable electrodiagram(ECG) monitoring system is a widely used non-invasive diagnostic tool for ambulatory patients who may be at risk from latent life-threatening cardiac abnormalities. In this paper. we have a portable ECG monitoring system with conductive fiber characterized by the small-size and the low power consumption. The system consists of conductive fibers, one-chip microcontroller, ECG preprocessing circuit, and monitoring software to record and analyze in PC. ECG preprocessing circuit is made of pre-amplifier with gain of 10, band-pass filter with bandwidth of 0.5-120% and 2.5V offset circuit for A/D conversion. ECG signals obtained by sensor are corrupted by noises such as a baseline wandering, 60Hz power noise and interference noise by body movement. For cancellation of noises in signals obtained by conductive fiber, we used the wavelet decomposition of wavelet transforms in MATLAB toolbox.

        유도초음파를 이용한 비파괴 검사 및 평가기법은 산업설비의 안전성 진단, 제품의 품질검사 그리고 의료분야 등 여러 분야에서 널리 적용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유도초음파에 대한 간략한 개요와 파이프 내에서의 유도초음파 발생 및 Focusing, Hybrid BEM을 이용한 wave scattering 해석, 그리고 유도초음파 검사기법의 적용 사례를 기술하였다.
