        A Comparison of Predictive Performances between Old versus New Criteria in a Risk-Based Screening Strategy for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

        Background: The definition of the high-risk group for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) defined by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists was changed from the criteria composed of five historic/demographic factors (old criteria) to the criteria consisting of 11 factors (new criteria) in 2017. To compare the predictive performances between these two sets of criteria. Methods: This is a secondary analysis of a large prospective cohort study of non-diabetic Korean women with singleton pregnancies designed to examine the risk of GDM in women with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Maternal fasting blood was taken at 10 to 14 weeks of gestation and measured for glucose and lipid parameters. GDM was diagnosed by the two-step approach. Results: Among 820 women, 42 (5.1%) were diagnosed with GDM. Using the old criteria, 29.8% (n=244) of women would have been identified as high risk versus 16.0% (n=131) using the new criteria. Of the 42 women who developed GDM, 45.2% (n=19) would have been mislabeled as not high risk by the old criteria versus 50.0% (n=21) using the new criteria (1-sensitivity, 45.2% vs. 50.0%, P>0.05). Among the 778 patients who did not develop GDM, 28.4% (n=221) would have been identified as high risk using the old criteria versus 14.1% (n=110) using the new criteria (1-specificity, 28.4% vs. 14.1%, P<0.001). Conclusion: Compared with the old criteria, use of the new criteria would have decreased the number of patients identified as high risk and thus requiring early GDM screening by half (from 244 [29.8%] to 131 [16.0%]).

        Surgical Management of Urethral Plugs in a Male Shih-Tzu Dog

        A 6-year-old castrated male Shih-Tzu was admitted to the Gyeongsang Animal Medical Center with hematuria and vomiting. Serum chemistry indicated increases in blood urea nitrogen and creatinine values. Radiography showed radiopaque materials attached to the ventralis of the inner bladder wall. Penile urethra also was filled with radiopaque materials. Ultrasonography revealed bilateral perineal effusion in the kidney, thinned bladder wall, and materials with acoustic shadowing at the caudal extremity of the os penis. Because urination was not identified by urinary obstruction, cystocentesis was performed. Hematuria was diagnosed by urinalysis, but clear crystals were not identified. Owing to failure of securing patency to the bladder using retrohydropropulsion, cystotomy and urethrotomy with retrohydropropulsion were performed. In this report, we describe the clinical and radiographic findings of urethral plugs in a male Shih-Tzu dog, wherein the urethral plugs were treated successfully with hydropropulsion, cystotomy, and urethrotomy. It provides an option for the treatment of urethral plugs in a dog.

        전이학습을 이용한 볼베어링의 진동진단

        In this paper, we propose a method for diagnosing ball bearing vibration using transfer learning. STFT, which can analyze vibration signals in time-frequency, was used as input to CNN to diagnose failures. In order to rapidly learn CNN-based deep artificial neural networks and improve diagnostic performance, we proposed a transfer learning-based deep learning learning technique. For transfer learning, the feature extractor and classifier were selectively learned using a VGG-based image classification model, the data set for learning was publicly available ball bearing vibration data provided by Case Western Reserve University, and performance was evaluated by comparing the proposed method with the existing CNN model. Experimental results not only prove that transfer learning is useful for condition diagnosis in ball bearing vibration data, but also allow other industries to use transfer learning to improve condition diagnosis. 본 논문에서는 전이학습을 이용하여 볼베어링의 진동진단을 수행하는 방법을 제안한다. 고장을 진단하기 위해 진동신호를 시간-주파수로 분석할 수 있는 STFT을 CNN의 입력으로 이용하였다. CNN 기반의 딥러닝 인공신경망을 빠르게 학습하고 진단 성능을 높이기 위해 전이학습 기반의 딥러닝 학습 기법을 제안하였다. 전이학습은 VGG 기반의 영상 분류 모델을 이용하여 특징 추출기와 분류기를 선택적으로 학습하였고, 학습에 사용한 데이터 세트는 Case Western Reserve University 대학에서 제공하는 공개된 볼베어링 진동 데이터를 사용하였으며, 성능평가는 기존의 CNN 모델과 비교하는 방법으로 수행하였다. 실험 결과 전이학습이 볼베어링 진동 데이터에서 상태 진단에 유용하다는 것을 증명할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 이를 통해 다른 산업에서도 전이학습을 사용하여 상태 진단을 개선할 수 있다.

        범죄자의 지능 및 정서인식력이 정신병질 경향성에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 범죄자의 정신병질 경향성에 지능과 정서인식력이 미치는 영향을 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국내 재소자 87명을 대상으로 PCL-R, ERT-R, K-WAIS-IV를 실시하고, ERT-R 하위척도, K-WAIS-IV하위점수와 PCL-R의 하위척도와의 관계를 살펴보았다. 정서인식력, 지능과의 관계를 알아보기 위해 ERT-R 하위척도와 K-WAIS-IV 하위척도를 독립변수로 하고 각각 대인관계, 정서성, 생활양식, 반사회성과 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 또한 PCL-R총점과의 관계를 알아보기 위해 연령, 혼인․동거 경험, 수용시설복역전과를 통제변수로 투입한 후에 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, ERT-R은 PCL-R의 하위척도 중 대인관계와 정서성과 유의한 부적 관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, K-WAIS-IV는 PCL-R의 하위척도 중 생활양식과 반사회성과 유의한 부적 관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 PCL-R의 대인관계척도와 정서성척도가 높을수록 낮은 정서성을 보이며, 생활양식척도와 반사회성척도가 높을수록 낮은 지능과 상관이 있을 수 있다는 가능성을 의미한다. 정신병질 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점이 논의되었다. The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of emotional recognition capabilities and intelligence on factors of psychopathic tendencies measured by Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-R). Total of 87 participants involved in this study were Korean inmates in prison. Variables of the effect on intelligence were measured with the Korean-Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Ⅳ(K-WAIS-Ⅳ) and the recognition task of facial expressions was performed with Emotional Recognition Test-Revised(ERT-R), respectively. According to regression analysis using the SPSS, there were negative correlation between subscales of ERT-R and subscales of psychopathic tendencies, Interpersonal, Affective and subscales of K-WAIS-Ⅳ and subscales of psychopathic tendencies, Lifestyle and Antisocial. As a result. The limitations of the study and suggestions for further research are discussed.

      • 가치 중심 인공지능 교재 개발 연구

        이 연구에서는 초중고 학생들을 위한 가치 중심 인공지능 교육 교재를 개발하는데 목표가 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 인공지능 교육에 대한 선행연구를 분석하고, 가치 중심 인공지능 교육의 의미를 제시하였다. 가치중심 인공지능 교육은 인공지능 기술에 대한 이해나 활용뿐만 아니라 인공지능이 영향을 주거나 추구해야 할 가치요소를 중심으로 교육내용을 구성하는 교육을 의미하며, ‘이해-활용-가 치’의 통합적인 접근 방식을 지향한다. 학교급에 맞는 교재를 집필하기 위해 FGI를 통해 주제와 가치 요소를 선정하였다. 팀단위 교재 개발 후 상호검토, 전문가 검토, 자문단 검토 과정을 거치며 교재의 완성도를 높였다. 이를 통해 최종적으로 초등 5개 주제, 11차시, 중등 5개 주제, 26차시, 고등 5개주제, 24차시의 교재가 완성되었으며 교사용 지도서와 학생용 교재가 함께 개발되었다. 개발된 교재는 학교 현장에 투입하여 교사 13명과 학생 291명의 만족도 설문을 실시하였으며 그 결과를 교재에 반영하여 최종본을 완성하였 다. 설문결과 교사들은 다소 어렵지만 인공지능 교육에 필요한 교재라는 의견을 주었으며 학생들은 수업 만족도, 흥미도, 이해도 등에 높은 점수를 주었다. 또한 학생들이 인공지능 기술에 대한 이해와 활용 뿐만 아니라 인공지능의 가치에 대해서 균형있게 알게 되었다는 점을 제시하였다. In this study, the goal is to develop value-oriented artificial intelligence education textbooks for elementary, middle, and high school students. To this end, first, previous studies on artificial intelligence education were analyzed, and the meaning of value-oriented artificial intelligence education was presented. Value-oriented artificial intelligence education refers to education that composes educational content around value elements that artificial intelligence should influence or pursue as well as understanding or utilization of artificial intelligence technology, and aims for an integrated approach of understanding-utilization-value. In order to write textbooks suitable for the school level, topics and value elements were selected through FGI. After developing team-level textbooks, the completeness of the textbooks was improved through mutual review, expert review, and advisory group review processes. Through this, textbooks for 5 elementary, 11th, 5 middle, 26th, 5 high schools, and 24th classes were finally completed, and teacher guidance and student textbooks were developed together. The developed textbook was put into the school field to conduct a satisfaction survey of 13 teachers and 291 students, and the final version was completed by reflecting the results in the textbook. As a result of the survey, teachers gave opinions that it was somewhat difficult but necessary for artificial intelligence education, and students gave high scores on class satisfaction, interest, and understanding. It was also encouraging that students understood artificial intelligence technology and learned about the value and problems of artificial intelligence in a balanced manner. However, both teachers and students complained of difficulties in the lack of class hours and infrastructure. In the future, with sufficient time and infrastructure secured, it seems necessary to conduct a study to verify the effectiveness through comparative studies.

        Fetal arachnoid cyst: characteristics,management in pregnancy, and neurodevelopmental outcomes

        Arachnoid cysts are rarely found during the prenatal period and can exist in any part of the brain as extra-axial cysts. These cysts are usually found after the second trimester and should be differentiated from other types of brain cysts and tumors using ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging. Serial sonographic examinations are necessary to evaluate associated central nervous system (CNS) or extra-CNS anomalies and changes in size or shape during pregnancy. If there are other associated anomalies, prenatal genetic evaluations are strongly recommended. Surgical procedures are necessary after birth in approximately 30-60% of the patients. Most isolated cysts have favorable neurodevelopmental outcomes, although information on their prognosis is limited.

        RT-PCR과 다공성 세라믹 큐브를 이용한 벼줄무늬잎마름바이러스 간편 진단

        A rapid and simple RT-PCR diagnosis method for detection of Rice stripe virus (RSV), one of major virus infecting rice, was developed using porous ceramic cubes in this study. The porous ceramic cube can rapidly absorb biological molecules such as small-sized proteins and nucleic acid fragments into its pores. We examined whether this ability of porous ceramic cubes could be applied for isolating viral nucleic acids or particles from the RSV- infected plant tissues. In this study, we found that the porous ceramic cube was capable of absorbing a detection level of viruses from the rice tissues infected with RSV and established RT-PCR-based RNA diagnosis method using porous ceramic cubes. 다공성 세라믹 큐브를 이용한 RT-PCR 진단법은 별도의 핵산추출 과정이나 용액 처리 없이, 식물체에 접촉시켜 큐브의 공극에 바이러스 입자나 핵산 등의 분자가 신속하게 흡수되면 이를바로 RT-PCR 반응에 넣어 유전자를 증폭시키는 방법으로, 식물체로부터 빠르고 정확하게 바이러스를 진단하는 방법이다. 본연구에서는 다공성 세라믹 큐브를 이용하여 벼에 발생하는 주요 바이러스인 벼줄무늬잎마름바이러스(RSV)를 진단하는 RTPCR 진단법을 확립하였다. 벼의 잎, 잎집, 또는 줄기를 대상으로 큐브 1개 또는 3개를 사용하여 즙액을 흡수시킨 후, 이를 RTPCR 주형으로 사용하였고, 그 결과 변성처리에 큰 차이 없이 증폭 효율이 나타났다. 또한 즙액을 흡수한 큐브는 9주차까지 상온에서 보관한 후 RT-PCR을 실시하여도 안정적으로 증폭 효율을 나타내었다.
