다문화가정 부부갈등과 자녀 사회적응의 관계 : 사회적 지지와 자아탄력성의 매개효과

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine social support and the mediating effects of Ego-Resilience in the relation between marital conflict and children’s social adjustments in multicultural families and especially, to verify the differences between the social support groups. For this purpose, this paper examined total 285 students, 114 male and 171 female students, from 4th grade to 9th grade in elementary and middle school by conducting survey composed of questions including the marital conflict scale, social adjustment scale, social support scale, and Ego-resilience scale. To analyze the collected data, SPSS WIN 15.0 and M-plus 3.0 were employed. To verify direct and mediating effects between each variable, the Structural Equation Modeling Analysis was applied.
The main results of the study are as follows;
First, based on the structural relation of each model above, the Parent support model shows that marital conflict does not have a direct influence on social adjustments; on the other hand, the friend support model, teacher support model, and community support model shows a direct relationship between marital conflict and social adjustments. In addition, the direct effect of all four models are statically meaningful on the pathway from marital conflict to social support, from social support to social adjustments, and from social support to Ego-Resilience. However, the pathway from marital conflict to Ego-Resilience in the Parent support model and the pathway from Ego-Resilience to Social Adjustments in the friend support model are not meaningful. Among three models, the pathways are more meaningful in the community support model than teacher support model and therefore, it is verified that the community support model is more important for children in multicultural families.
Second, the results of mediating effects in four models were as follows; The Parent support model is the complete mediation model that affects adjustments throughout only social support in marital conflict. The Parent support model has the mediating effects which is throughout social support to social adjustments and from marital conflict to social support then to social adjustments throughout Ego-Resilience, and also the model has meaningful mediating effects that is from marital conflict to social adjustments throughout Ego-Resilience. The friend support model, teacher support model, and community support model shows that marital conflict has a direct influence on social adjustments; that is, if marital conflict intensified, then children would experience difficulties in adjusting to social adjustments. Furthermore, these three models appear as the partial mediation model that has an effect on social adjustments by mediating throughout each social support and Ego-Resilience between marital conflicts and social support. In addition, the four models have meaningful mediating effects that affect social adjustments in marital conflict throughout social support, and also they have indirect meaningful influence on social adjustments throughout mediation of social support and Ego-Resilience. The mediating effects in the Parent support model and teacher support model were meaningful that affects social adjustments from marital conflict to social support and to Ego-Resilience. The mediating effects in the Parent support model and community support model are meaningful that is from marital conflict to Ego-Resilience. Moreover, the mediating effects from marital conflict through Ego-resilience to social adjustments are meaningful in the community support model, which are not meaningful in other support models. By considering the results that the mediating effects throughout social support are meaningful in each model, therefore, social support was verified as very significant variable in social adjustments and especially, community support was verified the most significant and effective variable in the children’s social adjustments in multicultural families.
The significance of this study is as follows;
First, the existing studies did not verify the effects of each support model although they argued the importance of social support. However, this study verifies the effects of each social support model by classifying and verifying the support models and especially, it verifies community support is the most significant for children in multicultural families. Second, this study increases the awareness level of the importance of social support for youth counseling and parents counselling. It also verifies that seeking for direction and strategic intervention, which meaningfully connects between inner personal factors like Ego-Resilience, is crucially needed for social adjustments. Third, this study tries to improve the social adjustments of children in multicultural families by proving positive factors related to social adjustments and therefore, this study contributes to improving their ability of social adjustment in daily home and school life and human relationships.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 다문화가정 부부갈등과 자녀의 사회적응 간에 사회적 지지와 자아탄력성의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하는데 있으며 특히, 사회적 지지원에 따른 차이를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 다문화가정 자녀 중 초등학교 4학년부터 중학교 3학년까지 남학생 114명, 여학생 171명, 총285명에게 자녀가 지각한 부부갈등척도, 사회적응척도, 사회적 지지척도, 자아탄력성척도로 구성된 질문지를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 15.0와 M-Plus 3.0을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 각 변인간의 직접효과 및 매개효과를 알아보기 위하여 구조방정식 모형분석을 적용하였다.
주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 각 모형의 구조적 관계를 살펴보면 부모지지모형은 부부갈등이 사회적응에 직접적으로 영향을 미치지 않았고, 친구지지모형과 교사지지모형, 지역사회지지모형은 부부갈등에서 사회적응에 직접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 네 가지모형 모두 부부갈등에서 사회적 지지로 가는 경로, 사회적 지지에서 사회적응으로 가는 경로, 사회적 지지에서 자아탄력성으로 가는 경로에서 정적으로 유의미하였는데, 부모지지모형에서 부부갈등에서 자아탄력성으로 가는 경로와 친구지지모형에서 자아탄력성에서 사회적응으로 가는 경로가 유의미 하지 않았다.
둘째, 네 가지 모형에서의 매개효과 결과는 다음과 같다. 부모지지모형은 완전매개모형으로 부부갈등에서 사회적 지지를 통해서만 적응에 영향을 미치며, 부모지지모형은 사회적 지지를 통해 사회적응으로 가는 매개효과가 유의미하고 부부갈등에서 사회적 지지를 거쳐 자아탄력성을 통해 사회적응으로 가는 매개효과와 부부갈등에서 자아탄력성을 통해 사회적응으로 가는 매개효과가 유의미하였다. 친구지지모형과 교사지지모형, 지역사회지지모형은 부부갈등이 사회적응에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는데 이것은 부부갈등이 심해지면 자녀는 사회적응에 어려움을 겪게 된다는 것이다. 또한 세 모형은 부부갈등과 사회적응 사이에서 사회적 지지나 자아탄력성을 매개하여 사회적응에 영향을 미치는 부분매개모형으로 나타났다.
특히, 네 가지 모형은 부부갈등에서 사회적 지지를 통해 사회적응에 영향을 미치는 매개효과가 모두 유의미하였는데 이것을 통해 사회적 지지원의 매개역할이 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 부모지지와 교사지지모형은 부부갈등에서 사회적 지지를 거쳐 자아탄력성을 통해 사회적응에 미치는 매개효과가 유의미하였으며, 부모지지와 지역사회지지모형은 부부갈등에서 사회적 지지를 통해 자아탄력성으로 가는 매개효과가 유의미하였다. 또한 다른 지지모형에서는 유의미하지 않았지만, 지역사회지지모형에서는 부부갈등에서 자아탄력성을 통해 사회적응으로 가는 매개효과가 유의미하게 나타났다. 따라서 각 모형에서 사회적 지지를 통한 매개효과가 유의미하게 나타난 것을 볼 때 사회적 지지가 사회적응에 중요한 변인임을 검증할 수 있었으며, 그 중에서도 지역사회지지모형이 유의미하게 나타난 것을 볼 때 지역사회지지가 다문화가정 자녀들의 사회적응에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 변인임을 확인할 수 있었다.
이 연구의 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기존의 연구들이 사회적 지지의 중요성을 주장하면서도 각 지지원별 효과를 검증하지는 못하였는데, 이 연구에서는 사회적 지지원의 효과를 각 지지원별로 나누어 검증하였으며 특히, 지역사회지지원이 다문화가정 자녀들에게 중요한 지지원임을 밝혔다는 것이다 둘째, 아동·청소년들을 상담하거나 부모상담시 사회적 지지에 대한 지각수준을 강화시키고, 자아탄력성과 같은 개인내적인 요인들을 의미 있게 연결시키는 개입전략 및 방향모색이 사회적응에 있어서 무엇보다도 필요함을 나타낸 점이다. 셋째, 다문화가정 자녀들의 적응과 관련된 긍정적인 변인들을 밝혀내어 그들의 학교생활, 가정생활, 대인관계에서 잘 적응할 수 있도록 돕는 데에 중요한 의의가 있다.
