젊은 남자에게 발생한 통상성 간질성 폐렴과 동반된 폐암 1예

Usual interstitial pneumonia(UIP) is relatively rare disease of lung parenchyme under the age of 50. Lung cancer is reported to occur as a complication of UIP, but has not been reported in young age patient with UIP in Korea. A 35-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of dyspnea, cough and mild fever. He had been suffered from dyspnea during 3 years. The dyspnea worsened recent 1 month ago. He had been treated with pneumonia at another hospital during 4 months before this admission. Chest radiographs and High resolution CT showed subpleural and basal dominant reticular opacities in both lung with no change until now. He was smoker and his occupation was car engine-man dealing with benzene. UIP is suspected by history and radiologic findings. Operation for open lung biopsy was performed to obtain lung specimen via video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery. Patient's pathologic examination showed UIP combined with adenocarcinoma in RLL superior segment and posterobasal segment and RLL lobectomy was done. After operation, the patient has been in cancer free condition so far. We report a case of UIP combined with lung cancer in young man with brief review of the literature.

An Ac-type Plasma Display Panel (PDP) operating with Ne-Ar(0.1%) Penning mixture gas is fabicated. The characterics of the panel with electrodes covered with thin and thick dielectric layers are studied. The brightness of the Neon-orange light emitted by the panel measured as function of applied voltage and frequency. As an application, a graphic display system equipped with PDP showing still and moving pictures is made.

This paper proposes a generalized NURBS model, called Volumetric NURBS or VNURBS for representing volumetric objects with multiple attributes embedded in multidimensional space. This model provides a mathematical framework for modeling complex structure of heterogeneous objects and analyzing inside of objects to discober features that are directly inaccessible, for deeper understanding of complex field configurations, The defining procedure of VNURBS, which explains two directional extensions of NURBS, show VNURBS is a generalized volume function not depending on the domain and its range dimensionality, And the recursive algorithm for VNURBS derivatives is described as a computational basis for efficient and rebust volume modeling. In addition, the specialized versions of VNURBS demonstrate that VNURBS is applicable to various applications such as geometric modeling, volume rendering, and physical field modeling.

An eleven year old castrated male Maltese was presented to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. In physical examination, approximately 0.5 cm round mass was observed on tail base. This small elevated mass has also shown alopecic and firm configuration. It was differentially diagnosed as sebaceous adenoma and hyperplasia by fine needle aspiration. After surgical removal, the sample was diagnosed as sebaceous hyperplasia by histopathological examination. It has not yet shown any signs of recurrence and prognosis has teen good.
삼각형 폴리곤 곡면의 데이터 구조 및 그 응용에 관한 연구

Highly detailed geometric models are rapidly becoming commonplace in CAD/CAM, computer graphics, and other applications. Polygonal meshes are the most appropriate geometry representation for the complex models. They are flexible enough to represent any arbitrary shapes within any specific tolerance and can be directly rendered even on today's low cost PCs. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of our face-based data structure for triangulated polygonal meshes. We start by identifying the minimal requirements, time and space efficiency, for triangular mesh data structure in the context of the geometric modeling and processing. Then we explain the details of the data structure and its design intent or features. Next, we give detailed implementations developed for atomic mesh operations with some illustrating figures and examples. Finally, we evaluate the modeling capabilities of our data structure by mesh processing applications such as smoothing, simplification, and subdivision.
VNURBS표현식에 기초한 볼륨 데이터의모델링 및 분석 기법

This paper describes the volumetric data modeling and analysis methods that employ volumetric NURBS or VNURBS that represents heterogeneous objects or fields in multidimensional space. For volumetric data modeling, we formulate the construction algorithms involving the scattered data approximation and the curvilinear grid data interpolation. And then the computational algorithms are presented for the geometric and mathematical analysis of the volume data set with the VNURBS model. Finally, we apply the modeling and analysis methods to various field applications including grid generation, flow visualization, implicit surface modeling, and image morphing. Those application examples verify the usefulness and extensibility of our VNUBRS representation in the context of volume modeling and analysis.
河川水質解析에서 BFGS 技法에 의한 最適反應係數의 決定

QUAL2E model was applied to assess the water quality variations for the downstream of the Han River. The varied flow analysis is performed in the reach of Paldang dam to Indogyo considering the effect of Jamsil submerged weir. A sensitivity analysis was made to determine the significant reaction coefficients and an optimization technique by BFGS method was used to estimate them. The calibration and verification were performed by using observed water quality data for the Han River. The calculated pollutant concentrations showed good agreements with the observed. The predictions of water quality in the river were made for the various discharge conditions and wastewater treatment alternatives.
