This paper presents the design and fabrication of a high power piezoelectric ultrasonic surgery unit for multi-purpose dental implantation. A conventional piezoelectric ultrasonic surgery units consists of a transducer and a tip. However, the drawback of this simple structure is that the output performance of the transducer considerably changes with the change of the tips. An ultrasonic surgery unit that has an additional booster between the transducer and the tip can solve this problem to some extent; for this, an optimal structural design for the transducer is required. We used the Bolted Langevin Transducer (BLT) as the basic transducer; it consists of piezoelectric ceramics and a metal body. It's structure was optimized using mathematical methods to determine the length and radius of the tail and head masses. Additionally, the booster was also subjected to the same methods. Using these mathematical methods, optimal results in terms of the resonance frequency (24.96 kHz), displacement ($14.27{\mu}m$), and pressure (2.8 MPa), could be obtained. The validity of this proposed surgery unit was confirmed experimentally, exhibiting a cutting force of around 7% higher than that of a conventional surgery unit.

The ZnO nanorods were synthesized using vapor-solid (VS) method on sodalime glass substrate without the presence of metal catalyst. ZnO nanorods were prepared thermal evaporation of Zn powder at $500^{\circ}C$. As-fabricated ZnO nanorods had an average diameter and length of 85 nm and 1.7 $\mu\textrm{m}$. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the ZnO nanorods were single crystalline with the growth direction perpendicular to the (101) lattice plane. The influences of reaction time on the formation of the ZnO nanorods were investigated. The photoluminescence measurements showed that the ZnO nanorods had a strong ultraviolet emission at around 380 nm and a green emission at around 500 nm.

Conjoined twins are very rare and the mortality rate of the fetus is extremely high. Early prenatal diagnosis is crucial, as it provides the opportunity for the mother and father to help in recognizing the conjunction of the twins and to help medical team in defining the prognosis of conjoined twins. We present a case of thoraco-omphalopagus conjoined twins diagnosed by two-dimensional and threedimensional transabdominal sonography at 14(+2) weeks of gestation.

This experimental Study was designed to investigate the effect of Chaenomelis Fructus on the muscle atrophy induced by hindlimb suspension in rats. The result are follows; 1. Chaenomelis Fructus significantl inhibited the increase of the activity of CK in serum. 2. Chaenomelis Fructus significantly inhibited the increase of the quantity of creatine in serum. 3. Chaenomelis Fructus significantl inhibited the increase of the activity of aldolase in serum. 4. Chaenomelis Fructus significantly inhibited the increase of the activity of LDH in serum. 5. Chaenomelis Fructus significantl inhibited the increase of the activity of AST in serum. 6. Chaenomelis Fructus inhibited the increase of the activity of ALT in serum. Based on the these results, it is concluded that the clinical application of Fructus chaenomelis can help cure muscle atrophy.

This paper describes the development of a piezoelectric level switch, which aims to effectively monitor the level status in high ambient temperatures. In order to adjust the impedance near the resonant frequency and temperature characteristics, the effect of the case and backing layer materials on its performance was analyzed using the finite element method (FEM). The suggested prototype new level switch has three heat-sink plates attached to SUS bar of 230 mm long, and case of PEEK which contains PZT sensing part. To illustrate the validity of this level switch, 10 samples are prepared and investigated the sensing performance through the high and low temperature ambient.

Smart agriculture has emerged to be a solution to the global food crisis and a new growth engine in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The purpose of this study is to reveal the spatiality of smart agriculture by analyzing smart agriculture policies in major countries and examining how major's agricultural knowledge and experience are expressed in specific agricultural environment. I selected China, Japan, the Netherlands, and the United States as representative examples. In the analysis of agricultural policy, the direction, governance and main areas and technologies were focused. As a result, it is found both standardization strategy and the localization strategy work at the same time. Standardization strategies decontextualize technologies and policies from the economic, social, cultural, and ecological contexts of region. The regionalization strategy builds a smart agricultural model for each country with reflecting geographical characteristics. This study could be for facilitating further researches on geographies of agricultural technology and agricultural knowledge production.

Lipomatous variant of angiomyofibroblastoma is a rare tumor of the vulva. Most of cases are usually premenopausal and present with a slowly growing mass without pain. A 46-year-old woman presented with a swelling of the left labium major. The lesion was thought to be a Batholin`s gland cyst or a lipoma preoperatively and a local excision was performed. The tumor was well demarcated and rubbery. On microscopic examination, the alternating hypercellular and edematous hypocellular component with abundant vessels was noted. A large amount of adipose tissue was scattered in the lesion. Stromal cells were positive for vimentin, estrogen receptor, and progesterone receptor and negative for desmin antibody immunostaining. The local excision was enough for complete treatment. No recurrence was noted for 7 months after surgery.

목적: 본 연구에서는 위암의 전암성 병변으로 알려져 있는 만성 위축성 위염 및 장상피화생과 체질량지수와의 연관성을 확인하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2013년부터 2014년까지 한국의 일개 지역 두 개의 종합병원 건강증진센터를 방문하여 위내시경을 실시한자 3,028명 중 위 절제술을 시행하였거나 조직학적으로 위암으로 확진되었거나 자료의 결측치가 있는 자를 제외한 2,997명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 대상자 남녀 각각에 대해 만성위축성 위염 및 장상피화생 유무에 따른 임상적 차이를 분석하였고, 체질량지수를 기준으로 네 군으로 나누어 만성 위축성 위염 및 장상피화생 발생의 교차비를 구하였다. 결과: 만성 위축성 위염 유무에 따른 체질량지수 평균치는 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 장상피화생 유무에 따른 체질량지수 평균치는 남자에서 각각 24.4, 26.1 kg/m<sup>2</sup>, 여자에서 각각 22.8, 24.9 kg/m<sup>2</sup>로 남녀 모두 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 만성 위축성 위염의 발생에 영향을 줄 수 있는 연령, 음주, 흡연, 장상피화생 여부를 보정하여 시행한 다중 로지스틱 회귀분석에서 남녀 모두 통계적 유의성을 보이지 않았으나, 장상피화생의 경우 연령, 음주, 흡연, 위축성 위염 여부를 보정하였을 때 정상 체중군에 비해 과체중군, 비만군 및 고도비 만군의 교차비가 남자에서 각각 2.25 (95% CI, 1.50-3.37), 2.32 (95% CI, 1.58-3.42), 4.86 (95% CI, 2.04-11.5), 여자에서 각각 2.66 (95% CI, 1.29-5.47), 4.46 (95% CI, 2.28-8.75), 9.57 (95% CI, 3.26-28.12)로 나타났다. 결론: 체질량지수의 증가는 장상피화생 발병과 유의한 연관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 추후 전향적 대규모 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. Background/Aims: Chronic atrophic gastritis (AG) and intestinal metaplasia (IM) of the stomach are premalignant lesions. The present study aimed to examine the associations between obesity and these lesions. Methods: A total of 2,997 patients, who underwent gastroscopy, participated in this study, excluding those who had been diagnosed with gastric cancer. Participants were divided into four groups based on their body mass index (BMI). The risk of AG and IM with increasing BMI was analyzed in men and women, separately. Results: The association between BMI and AG was not significant. After adjusting for age, smoking, alcohol, and AG, the odds ratios for IM in the overweight, obesity, and severe obesity groups were 2.25 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.50-3.37), 2.32 (95% CI, 1.58-3.42), and 4.86 (95% CI, 2.04-11.5) in men, and 2.66 (95% CI, 1.29-5.47), 4.46 (95% CI, 2.28-8.75), and 9.57 (95% CI, 3.26-28.12) in women, compared with the normal BMI group. Conclusions: Gastric IM was significantly associated with increased BMI. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2017;70:81-88)
