A Multi-Center Educational Research Regarding Breastfeeding for Pediatrics Residents in Korea

Purpose: Pediatricians have a significant responsibility to educate mothers about the importance of breastfeeding. However, there have been minimal efforts in the courses of resident training in Korea. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the change in knowledge and attitude before and after a 4-week breastfeeding educational intervention among multicenter residents. Methods: Prospective interventional educational research was designed for residents at eight training hospitals in Korea. Institutional reviews were obtained in each hospital. The education curriculum consisted of 14 courses regarding breastfeeding theory and practice. These materials were used to teach pediatric residents for 4 weeks. Knowledge-based tests were administered before the course, and re-tests were administered after the course using different test items of similar levels. Test scores and survey responses were compared before and after the intervention. Results: A total of 73 residents (1st year 20, 2nd year 23, 3rd year 16, and 4th year residents 14) from eight training hospitals completed the intervention. Their average age was 30.3±2.9 years, 17 (23.3%) were male, 22 (30.1%) were married, and eight had more than one child of their own. The mean pre-test score was 61.8±13.4 and the mean post-test score was 78.3±7.5 (P<0.001). The inter-grade difference in the score was significant in the pre-test (P=0.005), but not significant in the post-test (P=0.155). There were more responses of obtaining confidence after the intervention (P<0.001). Conclusion: In our study, pediatric residents showed improvement in their knowledge and confidence level after 4 weeks of the breastfeeding curriculum. 암치료에 있어서 체질과 항암효과에 관한 한의학적 연구

As one of the chemical and experimental study on cancer treatment in Korea oriental medical hospital. Furthermore, we carried out the cytotoxicity test of extracts of herbal medicine. The results are as follows : About Clinical Aspects of the Oriental Medical Cancer Treatment - (1) Clinical experience is that 420 Oriental medical hospital were surveyed. Number of cancer patient treated by one oriental medical doctor was under 10(about 60%) or from 10 to 20(about 30%). (2) Diagnostic Procedure is that more than 80% of cancer patients were diagnosed by medical doctor of western hospital. (3) Therapeutic Method is that combination of oriental and western medical treatment was used in oriental medical hospital. (4) Relationship between cancer and constitutions is that to the relationship between cancer and constitutions, about 75% responded and most were considered to be Um. About Experimental Study - to evaluate the direct cytotoxicity of hot water and methanol extracts of 34 oriental medical presciptions on stomach cancer cell, SRB assay was carried out. (1) The IC50 value of water extract of Samsoum was 19㎍/㎖ and that of methanol extract was 15㎍/㎖, so that we confirmed Samsoum has a strong direct cytotoxicity. (2) The IC50 values of water extract of Coptidis Rhizoma, methanol extract of Caesalpiniae Lignum and Draba Semen were 10㎍/㎖, 19㎍/㎖ and 12.5㎍/㎖ respectively, so that we confirmed Coptidis Rhizoma, Caesalpiniae Lignum and Draba Semen have a strong direct cytototoxicity. (3) The IC50 value of combinatory prescription of Rhei Rhizoma, Forsythie Fructus and Caesalpiniae Lignum was about 40㎍/㎖.

자가미백술 단독사용시 임상적 효능 및 유지력 평가

연구목적; 본 연구는 15% 과산화 요소 (carbamide peroxide)를 포함한 Opalescence F를 이용한 자가 미백숨 (home bleaching) 을 4주간에 걸쳐 시행한 후 12주까지 임상적 미백효과와 구강 환경에서 임상적 미백 효과의 유지 정도를 비색 측정기 (Colorimeter) 와 비타 색 기준 (Vita shade guide)을 이용하여 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 28명의 336개의 전치를 대상으로 실험군은 하루 2시간씩 4주간 자가 미백술을 시행하고 대조군은 미백을 시행하지 않았다. 미백 전, 미백 직후(4주후), 8주, 12주에 색을 측정하여 변화를 기록하였다. 결과: 4주의 미백술 시행 후 치아의 색 변화량 (△E)은 실험군에서 비색 측정기는 7.04 ± 2.85. 비타 색 기준은 7.58 ± 2.28로 모두 뚜렷한 변화를 나타냈으며 (p <0.05).8주와 12주후의 색 변화량 (△E*)은 미백과는 상반되는 방향으로 비색 측정기의 경우에는 8주에 2.71 ± 1.84. 12주에 2.19 ± 2.59로 나타났으며 비타 색 기준의 경우는 8주에 0.41 ± 1.21. 12주에 1.05 ± 1. 3 6으로 나타나, 비록 미백전과의 유의할 만한 차이를 보였지만 (p <0.05) 미백직후와 비교 시 서서히 색이 복원 (shade recover)되 는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 색의 복원은 미백치료 종료 후 초기에 상대적으로 많은 변화를 보인 후 시간이 지남에 따라 변화가 줄어들며 안정되는 양상을 보였고 CIE Lab* 값은 미백 시행 기간동안 밝기 (L*값) 는 증가하였고 적-녹 축 (red-green축 . a*값) 은 감소하여 녹색계통으로 변화되며, 황-청 축 (yellow-blue축. b*값) 도 감소하여 청색계통으로 변화하였고 미백 시행을 종료한 후에는 미백 시행 이전방향으로 색 복원이 발생하였다. 비색 측정기는 비타 색 기준에 비해 보다안정적인 결과를보였으며 육안에 의존하는비타색 기준은큰변화는더 크게, 작은변화는더 작은색 변화량을 보였다. 결론: 자가 미백술 단독 사용시 색복원은 관찰되지만 12주후에 도 미백전과 비교시 통계학 상으로 유의성있게 그 효과가 유지되므로 (p <0.05) 임상적 효능이나 유지력은 인정되며 이를 통해 자가미백술 단독 사용으로도 그 의미는 있다고 생각된다. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the whitening efficacy and longevity of home bleaching. Materials andMethods: A total of 28 patients were divided into either experimental group (Opalescence F: 15% carbamide peroxide) or control group randomly. The patients in experimental group were instructed to wear individual trays applied with bleaching gel for 2 hours a day for 4 weeks. Any treatments weren't applied to the patients in control group. The color measurements of central incisors, lateral incisors & canines of upper and lower arch were recorded at base line, immediately after the finishment of treatmemt (4 weeks), 8 weeks and 12 weeks using Colorimeter (Chroma Meter, 2600d Konica Minolta co.) and Vitapan classical shade guide (Vita Zahnfabrik). Results: A significantly stronger color change was observed for overall teeth samples in experimental group immediately after treatment (at 4 weeks) compared to ones in control group (p <0.05). There was also a significant difference between baseline and 8 weeks or 12 weeks separately though color rebouncing phenomenon occurred as time went by (p <0.05). Conclusions: The clinical effecacyand longevity of home bleaching without combined application of in-office bleaching was observed through this experiment.

온라인 구전정보가 영화관람 의도에 미치는 영향 : '기대'를 중심으로

본 연구는 엔터테인먼트 상품인 영화에 대해 온라인 구전이 잠재관객의 영화관람의도에 미치는 영향력을 영화에 대한‘기대’를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 온라인 구전중에서 긍정적인 정보와 주관적인 정보가 부정적인 정보나 객관적인 정보보다 영화에 대한 기대형성에 영향을 많이 미치고, 영화의 속성에 대한 기대와 감정적 경험에 대한 기대는 관람의도를 형성하는 데 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히, 감정적 경험에 대한 기대는 직접적으로 관람의도를 형성하는 것으로 나타나, 영화와 같은 체험상품의 경우에는 소비의 목표가 쾌락적 경험에 있다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of on-line word of mouth(WOM) information on viewing intention. Comsumer are asked to their expectation to the motion picture and viewing intention after they are exposed each of four different types of WOM information. The results can be summarized as follows. First, the positive WOM has stronger effect on consumer's expectation toward utilitarian attributes and emotional stimulus than negative WOM. Second, consumer's expectation toward utilitarian attribute has indirect effect on viewing intention, and expectation of the emotional stimulus from the movie has direct effect on viewing intention.

분자내 고리화반응에 의한 <Benz-[f]-Indole>-4,9-Dione 유도체 합성

Compound of the structure of <benz-[f]-indole>-4.9-dione are known to have an antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. New kinds of 2-amino-<benz-[f]-indole>-4.9-diones are prepared via intramolecular cyclization. 2-Chloro-3-(α-cyano-α-ethoxycarbonyl-methyl)-1.4-naphthoquinone was reacted with some alkylamines (methylamine, ethylamine, ethanolamine, isopropylamine, cyclohexylamine, benzylamine) to yield 2-amino-3-ethoxycarbonyl-N-alcyl-<benz-[f]-indole>-4.9-diones.

This descriptive study was conducted to project the number of critical care APNs needs in critical care units in an acute care hospital setting, up to the year 2020. Method: Necessary data and information were collected from various funded reports, professional literature, web-sites and personal visits to national and private institutions. The demand of critical care APNs were projected based on two critical care APNs per critical care units. Results: The projected number of critical APNs for the critical care units in acute care hospital settings as follows: 1) The total projected number f critical care APNs needed for critical care units were 1,270 in 2001. 2) By the year 2020, total number of projected needed in critical care units will be 1,080-1,700. Conclusion: In order to match the supply to the need, the professional organization should direct their efforts toward enacting legislation. Educational systems should identify strategies in initiation of critical care APNs programs in masters level as well as standardizing curriculums across the programs.

Electrochemical micro machining, the anodic dissolution process without contact with tools, can achieve a wanted shape of the surface using electrochemical reaction between anode and cathode. Nitinol is a metal alloy composed of Ni and Ti around 50% respectively which has shape memory effect. Nitinol can be put various applications which require micro scale structure. The aim of this study is to investigate the characteristic of electrochemical micro machining for nitinol workpieces. In order to analyze the characteristics of electrochemical micro machining for nitinol, tungsten carbide micro pin was used for electrode and the machined area was observed by optical microscope.

출생 직후 호흡부전으로 사망한 Thanatophoric dysplasia 1례

Thanatophoric dysplasia is a severe skeketal disorder characterized by extremely short limbs and folds of extra skin on the arms and legs, narrow chest, small ribs and underdeveloped lungs. Affected infants are usually stillborn or die shortly after birth from respiratory failure. We experienced a case of thanatophoric dysplasia died shortly after birth from respiratory failure.
