        Sr(NO<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub> 용융염에서 이온교환이 K<sub>2</sub>O-TiO<sub>2</sub>-SiO<sub>2</sub> glass에 미치는 영향

        Fresnoite 결정화 유리는 최근 비선형 광학특성으로 인하여 널리 연구되어 지고 있다. 그러나, 이전 연구 결과를 통하여 투명결정화 유리의 화학 조성으로는 정량적으로 Fresnoite 구조에 유사한 조성을 조절하는 것에 한계가 있음을 확인 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 $K_2O-TiO_2-SiO_2$ glass의 제조한 후, 제조된 유리를 $Sr(NO_3)_2$ 용융염에 담지하여 모유리의 표면에 Fresnoite 결정을 형성시키는 방법으로 투명결정화 유리를 제조하고, 이 때 Sr 이온이 비선형광학효과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. XRD를 통하여 담지 시간에 따른 결정상 변화와 열처리를 통한 결정상 변화를 관찰하였으며, FE-SEM을 사용하여 생성된 결정의 미세구조와 Nd : YAG laser를 사용하여 2차비선형특성의 유무를 관찰하였다. A fresnoite glass-ceramics has been investigating considerably because of the second order nonlinearity as well as its permanent optical nonlinearity. However, the chemical compositions of transparent glass-ceramics examined in the previous studies have been limited to adjust the composition close to fresnoite stoichiometrically. In this study, to investigate the effect of strontium ions in glass-ceramics on second order nonlinearity, $K_2O-TiO_2-SiO_2$ (KTS) glasses soaked in molten $Sr(NO_3)_2$ were prepared. Crystalline phases of the soaked glasses were measured by X-ray diffraction (XRD) as soaking times and additional heat treatment. The exchange of strontium ions into the glass was verified by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM). And the phenomena of second order harmonic generation (SHG) was observed using Nd-YAG laser.

        Production of L-Theanine Using Escherichia coli Whole-Cell Overexpressing γ-Glutamylmethylamide Synthetase with Baker’s Yeast

        L-Theanine, found in green tea leaves has been shown to positively affect immunity and relaxation in humans. There have been many attempts to produce L-theanine through enzymatic synthesis to overcome the limitations of traditional methods. Among the many genes coding for enzymes in the L-theanine biosynthesis, glutamylmethylamide synthetase (GMAS) exhibits the greatest possibility of producing large amounts of production. Thus, GMAS from Methylovorus mays No. 9 was overexpressed in several strains including vectors with different copy numbers. BW25113(DE3) cells containing the pET24ma::gmas was selected for strains. The optimal temperature, pH, and metal ion concentration were 50℃, 7, and 5 mM MnCl<sub>2</sub>, respectively. Additionally, ATP was found to be an important factor for producing high concentration of L-theanine so several strains were tested during the reaction for ATP regeneration. Baker’s yeast was found to decrease the demand for ATP most effectively. Addition of potassium phosphate source was demonstrated by producing 4-fold higher L-theanine. To enhance the conversion yield, GMAS was additionally overexpressed in the system. A maximum of 198 mM L-theanine was produced with 16.5 mmol/l/h productivity. The whole-cell reaction involving GMAS has greatest potential for scale-up production of L-theanine.

        The lamellar boundary orientations of directionally solidified(DS) ?? alloys were evaluated by the X-ray diffraction method. Some ternary and quarternary DS ingots were grown by the arc melted unidirectional solidification equipment without seed materials. Pole figure measurments were performed using above DS ingots and then inverse pole figures were calculated in order to analyze the aligned lamellar boundary directionions. It was found that the measured lamelae boundary orientations were between ø= 0˚ ∼ 55˚, and these results were coincident with the expected values, ø= 0˚ ∼ 45˚, Therefore, it could be suggested that the texture measurement was a beneficial method to analyze the lamellar boundary orientations of ?? DS ingots

      • 머리염색이 인체에 미치는 영향

        일상생활에서 모발염색은 흔히 접할 수 있는 미용의 한 종류로 특히 젊은층을 중심으로 폭발적으로 유행하고 있다. 염색을 위항 사용하는 약제는 표백제와 발색제 등 각종 화학약품이 사용되고 있으나 이로 인한 건강장해에 대한 연구는 그리 많지 않다. 저자들은 염색이 인체의 모발건강에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 염색과 관련된 주관적 증상과 모발의 변화에 대한 실험적 연구를 시행하였다. 동국대학교 경주 캠퍼스 재학생 80명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하여 염색 유 ·무 및 염색 후에 경험한 증상에 대해 설문 조사하였고, 의과대학 재학생 46명을 대상으로 피부 반응 테스트를 실시하였다. 또한 염색 전후의 모발 탄성도를 측정하였고 모발의 상태를 파악하기 위해 전자 현미경검사를 실시하였다. 설문조사 결과 염색 전에 비하여 염색 후 안구혼탁, 안구건조, 시력저하, 발진 및 접촉성 피부염, 모발손상, 모근손상 등의 증상을 더 많이 경험한다고 호소하였다(p<0.05). 모발손상과 모근손상은 헤어드라이어 사용 빈도에 따라 증가하는 것으로 조사되었다(p<0.05). 피부반응검사에서 가려움증이 가장 많은 증상이었으며 이는 여성보다는 남성에서 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 염색 전후의 모발장력은 염색 전 134.5±10.37g, 염색 128.0±30.69g, 염색 이틀 후 112.5±19.69g으로 나타났다. 염색 전후의 모발의 전자현미경 케라틴 층이 현저히 감소하고 모발이 가늘어지는 차이를 보였다. 염색은 모발손상, 모발 케라틴 손상 및 모근 손상, 발진 및 접촉성 피부반응, 안구혼탁, 안구건조, 시력 저하를 유발한다. 따라서 염색약으로 인한 손상에 대한 주의와 예방이 필요하다고 생각한다. 예방대책으로 염색 전 피부테스트를 통한 적합성 여부를 판단하는 것이 필요하며 가급적 염색을 피하는 것이 좋을 것이다. 염색약에 발암물질이 포함되어있다는 보고도 있어 염색 제조사의 철저한 실험과 염색 물질의 선별이 염색으로 인한 부작용을 최소화하는데 중요한 역할을 할 것이다. Hair coloring has became one of the most popular cosmetic activities to younger generations during last decade. However, there are few studies on the health effect of widespread use of chemical dyes. This study was conducted to study the effects of hair coloring dye on hair and other systems. We conducted a questionnaire survey of 80 persons in Kyongju campus, Dongguk University. We have done open patch skin test on 46 medical students. We also conducted scanning electron microscopy to examine the hair strength and structure before and after hair coloring process. Injury of hair and hair bulb, contact dermatitis, turbid eyes, xerophthalmia, and poor visual acuity were the main symptoms complained after hair coloring (p<0.05). Injury of hair and hair bulb were increased by frequency of hair-dryer use(p<0.05). In open patch test, pruritus was complanined by more than half of the subjects. Mean strength of hairs before and after hair coloring was as follows; 134.5 (SD 10.37)g before hair coloring, 128.0 (SD 30.69)g immediately after hair coloring, and 112.5 (SD 19.69)g after two days. The scanning electron microscopic findings of hair surface before and after hair coloring showed decreased keratin layer and thinning of the hair. Hair coloring induces injury to hair, its keratin layer, and hair bulb as well as contact dermatitis, turbid eyes, xerophthalmia, and poor visual acuity. Therefore, we think that precaution is needed in use of hair coloring dye. To prevent complications induced by hair coloring dye, it is necessary, especially to those with allergy or skin disorders, to perform skin test before action and avoid hair coloring whenever possible. Longterm health effects of hairdye should be studied and manufacturing companies should try to minimize complications induced by hair coloring dye.

        A new flaw detection technique using by SH angle beam method has been discussed. The SH-wave is horizontally polarized shear wave and the surface SH wave has a characteristic of traveling along near surface layer. The surface SH wave technique is valuable for the detection of fatigue cracks at fillet weld heels which cannot be detected by other ultrasonic technique such as angle beam technique and The dispersion curves of it has simple characterization. In this work, using these beneficial chraterization, quality evaluation of spot weld with ultrasonic sound intensity of SH-wave passing through nugget area of spot weld are verified experimentally.

      • 완전 방실차단을 동반한 급성 심근염

        급성 심근염환자에서 발행한 완전 방실차단을 영구 심장박동 조율기로 치료한 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Myocarditis, an inflammatory process involving the myocardal wall, may be caused by most infectious agents. Irrespective of its etiology, it presents commonly with evidence of heart failure, hypotension, and various electrocardiographic abnormalities. Patient with myocarditis may be asymptomatic or may have a rapidly progressive fatal disease. Medical management of patients with myocarditis includes specific therapy for underlying infection and control of the complication of myocarditis such as congestive heart failure and arrhythmia. Recently we had experienced myocarditis with complete atrioventricular block in 37-year-old man. Although he had shown complete recovery of heart failure, he had shown complete atrioventricular block, so we inserted permanent pacemaker. We report it with review of the literature.

      • Effect of grain size on thermal transport in post-annealed antimony telluride thin films

        <P>The effects of grain size and strain on the temperature-dependent thermal transport of antimony telluride (Sb<SUB>2</SUB>Te<SUB>3</SUB>) thin films, controlled using post-annealing temperatures of 200°C to 350°C, were investigated using the 3-omega method. The measured total thermal conductivities of 400-nm-thick thin films annealed at temperatures of 200°C, 250°C, 300°C, 320°C, and 350°C were determined to be 2.0 to 3.7 W/m · K in the 20 to 300 K temperature range. We found that the film grain size, rather than the strain, had the most prominent effect on the reduction of the total thermal conductivity. To confirm the effect of grain size on temperature-dependent thermal transport in the thin films, the experimental results were analyzed using a modified Callaway model approach.</P>
