The study was conducted to evaluate the difference of life style, subjective symptoms and health cognition depending on the Sasang Constitution in the industrial workers. The results were as follows ; Constitutional distribution among exposed group were Tae-eum In(38.4%), So-eum In(35.2%), and So-yang In(26.4%) and it was turned out that Tae-eum In took a higher portion of Sasang constitution than other constitutions in technician workers. 'Exercise' and 'Obesity' were found most in Tae-eum In, In So-eum In there were many 'Normal' weight and 'Having digestive disorders' were found most in So-eum In. There were no significant difference in the health cognition among the constitutions. The closer to 'normal' weight, the higher prevalence in 'having' concern about health condition and the more 'normal' condition in sleeping, the higher prevalence of 'having' self-confident in present health.
두경부 편평세포암종세포주에서 retinoic acid가 linear-quadratic 모델을 적용한 방사선감수성과 apoptosis 유발에 미치는 영향

Purpose : To evaluate the effect of all-trans-retinoic acid on radiosensitivity and radiation-induced apoptosis in NHOK, HEp-2 and FaDu cell lines. Material and Methods : We measured the changes in survival fraction at 2 Gy (SF2), α and β after treatment of retinoic acid (1μM) prior to irradiation with doses of 2,4,6 and 10 Gy and correlated the radiosensitizing effect of retinoic acid with them. Also, apoptosis induction was assayed with the flow cytometry on days 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 after irradiation (2,10 and 20 Gy) combined with retinoic acid. Results and Conclusion : SF2 values for NHOK, HEp-2 and FaDu cell lines were 0.54, 0.64 and 0.41, respectively and the cell line of FaDu was the most radiosensitive, For cell lines of NHOK and HEp-2, pretreatment of cells with retinoic acid resulted in a significant decrease of the SF2 values. The α/β ratios of x-ray survival curve were 8.714(NHOK), 4.098(HEp-2) and 11.79(FaDu). The α/β ratio for NHOK decreased on pretreatment with retinoic acid, whereas those for HEp-2 and FaDu increased. Radiation induced apoptosis in all cell lines but, retinoic acid did not affect the apoptosis. (Korean J Oral Maxillofac Radiol 2001; 31 : 135-43)

A 19-year-old man was referred to Seoul National University Dental Hospital for evaluation of a large painless swelling of the left mandibular angle area in August, 1999. The growth had been first noted 6 years ago. He had visited other hospital in 1997. In spite of the treatment given at the hospital, the mass continued to grow rapidly. Conventional radiographs in 1999 showed an expansile, lobulated, and destructive lesion of the left mandibular body. CT scan demonstrated an expansile mass with a corticated margin. Bony septa were seen within the lesion. Internal calcification noted on the bone-setting CT image, and corresponded to the hypointense area in T1-weighted MRI image. MRI clearly delineated the extent of the lesion which had heterogenous intermediate signal intensity in T1-weighted images and heterogenous hyperintense signal intensity in T2-weighted images. The lesion was well-enhanced. Histopathologically, the lesion was well demarcated. Multinucleated giant cells were presented in a fibrous background, demonstrating a storiform pattern. Areas of osteoid rimmed by a few osteoblasts were scattered throughout the lesion. Inflammatory cells, blood vessels, and hemosiderin deposition were also shown. CGCG may show lots of internal calcification foci on the CT, and varied signal intensity in MRI. More cases will be needed to understand the features of the CT & MR fonding of CGCG. 방사선 조사가 배양된 조골세포의 apoptosis와 세포주기의 변화 및 석회화 결절 형성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

Purpose : The study was aimed to detect the induction of apoptosis, cell cycle arrest and calcified nodule formation after irradiation on primarily cultured osteoblasts. Materials and Methods : Using rat calvarial osteoblasts, the effects of irradiation on apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, and calcified nodule formation were studied. The single irradiation of 10 and 20 Gy was done with 5.38 Gy/min dose rate using the 137Cs cell irradiator at 4th and 14th day of culture. Apoptosis induction and cell cycle arrest were assayed by the flowcytomtry at 1,2,3, and 4 days after irradiation. The formation of calcified nodules was observed by alizarin red staining at 1,3,10,14 days after irradiation at 4th day of culture, and at 1,4,5 days after irradiation at 14th day of culture. Results : Apoptosis was not induced by 10 or 20 Gy independent of irradiation and culture period. Irradiation did not induced Gl arrest in post-irradiated ostedblasts. After irradiation at 4th-day of culture, G2 arrest was induced but it was not statistically significant after irradiation at 14th-day of culture. In the case of irradiated cells at 4th day of culture, calcified nodules were not formed and at 14th-day of culture after irradiation, calcified nodule formation did not affected. Conclusion : Taken together, these results suggest that Irradiation at the dose of 10-20 Gy would not affect apoptosis induction of osteoblasts. Cell cycle and calcified nodule formation were influenced by the level of differentiation of osteblasts. (Korean J Oral Maxillofac Radiol 2000; 30: 189-198)

The Compton edge of the Compton distribution of a NE-213 detector to 0.662 MeV(?Cs) and 0.835 Mev(?Mn) gamma-rays were investigated by means of the coincidence method. The Compton edge position for ?Cs and ?Mn gamma-rays were 8.9 and 5.1 percent above the peak of the compton distribution spectrum, respectively. The experiment results were compared with calculated ones.
방사선조사 후 유표피암종세포내 칼슘농도의 변화와 apoptosis 발현에 관한 연구

Purpose: Ionizing radiations have been reported as an apoptosis initiating stimulus in various cells and it has established that sustained elevations in [Ca²+] can lead to DNA fragmentation by Ca²+-dependent endonucleases, ultimately resulting in apoptotic cell death. The previous experiments have been reported by using primarily thymocytes and lymphocytes and the change of [Ca²+] was measured only by minutes or hours respectively. We need to evaluate [Ca²+] in both several minutes and hours after irradiation of radiation of radiation therapy and verify the apoptotic cells. Materials and Methods: We have measured [Ca²+] in human gingival epitheloid cancer cell with 10 Gy irradiation, at minutely intervals and hourly intervals using digitized video-intensified fluorescence microscopy and the fluorescent Ca²+ indicator dye, fura-2. In order to find out that the transient rise in [Ca²+] could induced apoptosis, cells were incubated for 1 hour at 37℃ with TdT enzyme, rinsed and resuspended containing fluorescence and observed under a confocal fluorescence microscope. MTT assay was done to determine cell activity and LDH assay was done to determine the amount of necrotic cells. Results: After irradiation, the transient and temporal increasing of [Ca²+] in the KB cells was founded. Though, there was no change in the intracellular [Ca²+] at 30 minutes and 2 hours after irradiation. We could detect of DNA fragmented cells at 4 hours after 10 Gy irradiated cells. There were no significant differences between 4 hour, 1 day, 3 day cells. There were no significant differences in MTT and LDH assay between the irradiated group and the control group after 4 hours and 1 day. Though after 3 days there were differences in MTT and LDH assay between the irradiated group was significantly decreased than the control group, in LDH assay the number of necrotic cell death of the irradiated was higher than the control group. Conclusion: In KB cells there were incipient and temporal increasing of the [Ca²+] with 10 Gy irradiation and the apoptosis was founded from 4 hours later which was earlier than seeing of the change of the amount of the cellular ability and necrosis.(J Korean Oral Maxillofac Radiol 1999:29:109-117)

It shows that a variety of side effects result from the housing-supply policy focused in quantity. In a rental apartment for the low-income group, a shortage of maintenance cost in facilities become aggravated. The rapid progress of obsolete leads the lessor to the economic loss as well as a baneful influence to national economy. Also, the maintenance skill brings inadequacy by reason of technique development focused on new construction. As a result, the cost which needs for maintenance should get accomplished to application toward economy analysis and attempt considered management and financial affairs. Simultaneously, it should keep and administer a lot of data of maintenance affairs during life cycle in apartment and set up the way for aiding the situation of maintenance process.
수복재와 이장재에 따른 응력과 온도 분포의 유한 요소 분석

Dental caries, one of the most frequent dental disease, become larger because it can be thought as a simple disease. Further more, it can progress to unexpected root canal therapy with fabrication of crown that needs reduction of tooth structure. Base is required in a large caries and ZOE, ZPC, glass monomer are used frequently as base material. They, with restorative material, can affect the longevity of the restoration. In this study, we assume that the mandibular 1st molar has deep class I cavity. So, installing the 3 base material, 3 kinds of fillings were restored over the base as follows; 1) amalgam only, 2 ) amalgam with ZPC, 3) amalgam with ZOE, 4) amalgam with GI cement, 5) gold inlay with ZPC, 6) gold inlay with G1 cement, 7) composite resin only, 8) composite resin with GI cement. After develop the 3-dimensional model for finite element analysis, we observe the distribution of stress and temperature with force of 500N to apical direction at 3 point on occlusal surface and temperature of 55 degree, 15 degree on entire surface. The analyzed results were as follow : 1.Principal stress produced at the interface of base, dentin, cavity wall was smallest in case of using GI cement as base material under the amalgam. 2.Principal stress produced at the interface of base, dentin, cavity wall was smaller in case of using GI cement as a base material than ZPC under gold inlay. 3.Composite resin-filled tooth showed stress distributed over entire tooth structure. In other words, there was little concentration of stress. 4.ZOE was the most effective base material against hot stimuli under the amalgam and GI cement was the next. In case of gold inlay, GI cement was more effective than ZPC. 5.Composite resin has the small coefficient of thermal conductivity. So, composite resin filling is the most elective insulating material
