Kim, Tae Sik. 2017. The Relationship between Semantic Bleaching and Syntax: A Case from Bound Noun cwung in Korean. Studies in Generative Grammar, 27-3, 565-589. This paper focuses on bound nouns in Korean and argues that there is a relationship between Semantic Bleaching and Syntactic notions such as c-command and dominance. Bound nouns in Korean need an aid of other words. In the case of the bound noun kes, the aid should be by lexical words, but not functional ones such as numerals and classifiers (Kim 2016a). However, the bound noun man and tongan allow the help of numerals and classifiers (Kim 2017a, 2017b). The bound noun cwung also needs the aid of numerals and classifiers, but the modification pattern of it is different: the bound noun cwung should be c-commanded or dominated by nP. I claim that the existence or non-existence of the nP restriction is related to the degree of semantic bleached-ness of bound nouns, and the bound noun cwung is less grammaticalized than the bound noun man and tongan.

Literally, the mean of Tae-gye is highest brook. And on the basis of the acupuncture theory, Tae-gye point is the Soo earth point and source point of the Kidney Channel as well. In addition, Tae-gye point is one of the Yang-Returning Nine points. We were trying to study bibliographically on the Tae-gye point because Tae-gye point can be used very broadly across the symptoms in the theoretical aspect described above. As a results, we found out that according to the classical books of acupuncture, Tae-gye point is entering point of the Meridian Water as a source point and can be used at both Kidney-Sufficient Syndrom and Kidney-Deficient Syndrom. And Tae-gye can be applied to the disease of kidney or bladder that is urogenital symtoms, Also, Tae-gye is an useful option of tooth-ache, asthma, indigestion, constipation, edema etc whose cause is related with decrease of Kidney ki.
Bound Noun swu in Korean, a Nominative Complex Noun Phrase or a Grammaticalized Noun:

This paper is against Tchoe’s(2015) analysis of the bound noun swu in Korean as a nominative complex noun phrase, and defends a grammaticalization-based analysis in Kim (2014). Tchoe’s (2015) argument that there are ambiguous readings (i.e., an existential reading and a possessive reading) with regard to the bound noun swu does not seem to be related to the number of subjects in a sentence unlike his claim. Also, Tchoe’s (2015) observation that the existential reading disappears in a relativized structure seems to be problematic with additional data. Lastly, Kim’s (2014) analysis is superior in that not only does it explain the behaviors of the bound noun swu, but it also can be extended to other bound nouns (i.e., Kim (2014) provides theoretical uniformity with other bound nouns).

■ Objectives The purpose of this case study is to report that a hypertension with intracerebral hemorrhage of tae-eumin was treated with 'Cheongsim Yeunja-tang' and then the symptoms were improved and blood pressure was decreased. ■ Methods Although the patient who had hypertension with intracerebral hemorrhage took antihypertension drugs, intermittent increase of blood pressure was shown. We diagnosed him as Tae-eumin and treated with Cheongsim Yeunja-tang. We daily checked blood pressure and evaluated the symptoms. ■ Results After the treatment with Cheongsim Yeunja-tang, blood pressure was decreased and symptoms were improved. ■ Conclusion The result shows Cheongsim Yeunja-tang has antihypertensive effect and improve hypertension symptoms of Tae-eumin patient with intracerebral hemorrhage.
하악골 절제술후 재이식된 돌결자가골 재이식 : 치험 3례

We described three cases of immediate reimplantation of a frozen-thawed autogenous mandible composed of a mixture of iliac bone, marrow, and particulate hydroxyapatite in tumors of the mandible. Acceptable outcomes were obtained in three patients who underwent immediate autogenous mandibular graft reconstruction. The conditions leading to successful outcome of the procedure are also discussed. Reimplantation of frozen autogenous lesioned mandible was performed in three patients with mandibular tumors. Two reimplanted grafts survived without complications following surgery. One case had postoperative infection that resolved with appropriate antibiotic treatment. There were no recurrences of the primary lesions. Satisfactory facial contour after surgery was achieved. These results are most promising, and we believe that, with further refinement, this technique will offer a new and acceptable modality for facial reconstruction in patients with cancer.

An Infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus strain (IHNV-RTK) was isolated from cultured rainbow trout at Kumi in Korea during 2000 and 2001. In the RT-PCR amplification with the specific primer set designed from IHNV G protein region, a 540 bp PCR product was amplified from the RTK strain. The RTK strain showed higher sequence homology with the published IHNV G protein genes (RB-76, LR-73, Col-85, and Carson-89).

In order to study the morphological changes of Corti’s organ in the rat treated with cisplatin and tobramycin, thirty-three rats, weighing between 200∼250g, were used, and divided into 4 groups, i.e., 3 rats were used for control, and 30 rats were used for 3 experimental groups. Each experimental group was divided into cisplatin-treated, tobramycin-treated, and both cisplatin and tobramycin treated group with 10 rats. Rats were injected with a single dose of 7.7㎎/㎏ of cisplatin intraperitoneally and 50㎎/㎏/day of tobramycin for 2 days intramuscularly, respectively or both. Treated rats were sacrificed on the 3rd and 5th day after the first injection. Results were as follows; 1. Cisplatin-treated group: Outer hair cells of Corti’s organ were degenerated with the formation of vacuoles and appearance of lysosomes, however, inner hair cells showed mild vacuolization. 2. Tobramycin-treated group: NO pathological changes were found in Corti’s organ. 3. Combined cisplatin and tobramycin treated group: Outer and inner hair cells showed vacuolization, appearance of lysosomes, myelin figures and multivesicular body. There were also multivesicular body in the inner phalangeal cell and myelin figure in the Reissner’s membrance. 4. Degeneration of Corti’s organ in the combined treated group was more sever than those of the single cisplatin-treated or tobramycin-treated group. 5. NO pathological differences of Corti’s organ in duration of postinjection were manifested in any groups. It can be concluded that cisplatin induces toxicity to inner ear and cisplatin enhance toxicity more in continued treated with tobramycin.
Effect of Developmental Lead Exposure on the Expression of Hippocampal NMDA Receptor Subunit mRNA

목적: in vivo 및 vitro에서 해마 신경세포의 발생단계별 NMDA 수용체 아단위 mRNA 발현에 대한 연 폭로 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 흰쥐 해마 신경세포의 발생단계별 NMDA 수용체 NR2A, NR2B 아단위 mRNA 발현에 대한 연의 영향은 정상군과 연 폭로군의 출생 후 7일, 14일, 22일 흰쥐의 해마에서 in situ hybridization으로 mRNA 발현 정도를 densitometer로 측정하여 비교하였고, 연과 NMDA 의 세포독성은 해마 신경세포 일차배양 후 도립현미경을 이용한 형태학적인 관찰과 LDH 활성도를 이용하여 측정하였다. 결과: 연 과 NMDA 에 의한 세포독성에 대한 in vitro 실험에서 형태학적 소견과 LDH 활성도에서 해마 미성숙 신경세포와 성숙 신경세포사이의 차이가 있었으므로, 연과 NMDA 독성효과는 해마 신경세포의 발달 단계에 따라 차이가 있다. 정상군의 해마에서의 NR2A mRNA 발현은 출생 후 연령이 증가함에 따라 점진적으로 증가하였으나, NR2B mRNA 발현은 출생 후 연령이 증가함에 따라 점진적으로 증가하였으나 NR2B mRNA 발현은 연령의 증가에 따른 변화가 없었다. 연 폭로에 희한 NR2A mRNA 발현은 유의하게 감소하였으나(p<0.05), NR2B mRNA 발현은 변화가 나타나지 않았다. 만성적 연 폭로는 NR2A를 포함하는 NMDA 수용체를 감소시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 결론: 연은 해마신경세포의 발생단계에서 NMDA 수용체 아단위 특히 NR2A mRNA 발현의 변화를 야기하여 시냅스 신호 전달에 영향을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다.
