        Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is the most common non-epithelial neoplasm arising in the gastrointestinal tract, but this tumor is rarely seen in association with type l neurofibromatosis (NFl) Generally, the majority of GISTs are isolated neoplasm and they are sporadically found in the stomach, but the GISTs in NFl patients are usually multiple and usually found in the small intestine. We report a case of multiple GISTs in the jejunum of a 63-year-old woman diagnosed as NFl accompanied by complication of gastrointestinal bleeding, In this case, Patient had multiple cafe-au lait spots and neurofibroma on skin and had freckling on axilla and groin, and then, we made a diagnosis of NFl. Gastrointestinal bleeding is controlled by resection of multiple GISTs. Generally, only 3-5% of all gastrointestinal bleeding comes from the small bowel. Causes of small intestinal bleeding are angiodysplasia, neoplasm, NSAIDs induced ulcer etc. but, If patients have NFl accompanied by complication of gastrointestinal bleeding, GISTs on small bowel must be considered.

        Today the old generation is on the increasing trend in korea. therefor, the consumer's market of the old people is growing, too. the one of old consumer's market is the beauty industry about the old man and woman. we are able to approach in various method in the industry- a disease of the aged, old people's welfare, beauty of the aged, correction of deformities of the aged, etc. this study is for searching for some relevance between the consumer's market of the aged and the beauty industry of the aged. in conclusion, at present, the growing consumer's market of the aged show us some big possibility of a potential demand about the beauty industry of the aged, because the demand makes the supply to us. in future, the beauty industry of the aged shall exactly become the good business with the growing of the population of the aged.

      • 초등학생의 방과 후 프로그램 참여가 자아신체감과 자아존중감에 미치는 영향

        The research investigates the effect of extracurricular activities to self - esteem and is classified into three factors:- physical factors, artistic factors, and intellectual factors. They were analized by the effects of self-physical and self-esteem The children who have extracurricular activities more than 2 times a week (each at least 50 mins after school). Children living in Southern part of Gwang-ju city( Nam Gwang-ju), were targeted for the study. We used a self-physical survey report and a self-esteem survey report as the method of research. However, we excluded some insincere survey datas such as double entrys or blank entrys, only secure data was included and analized by SPSS 10.0. We reach some conclusions from the collected datas used by a standard variance, a analysis of reliability, multiful response cross-tab, one-way anova, correlation, followed as below ; 1. The school childrens extracurricular activities on participation characteristics shows that depending on sex, family income, the intellectual activities, artistic activities, physical activities follow the academic level of the children in school. Also it shows that the physical activities of school children decrease as the increase in grade. 2. The psychological characteristics follow the dynamic statistic of population and the academic year, it shows the small contrast that is : first, the self-esteem depends on the family income and the academic year. second, the self-effect depends on sex, family income and the academic year. third, the self-physical depends on family income and the academic year. fourth, the self-achievement depends on family income, parents academic background (especially mother's )and the academic year. 3. The psychological characteristics follows the form of activities after school. It shows the small contrast in self-effect and self-physical. 4. We found that there is a high mutual relationship between the psychological characteristic factors. The self-esteem was getting higher as the childeren improved in self-physical and self-effect, through the extracurricular activities after school.

        생활치 표백술 후 수종의 자유 산소기 제거제 처리가 복합 레진-법랑질 전단 접착 강도 및 파절 양상에 미치는 영향

        Tooth bleaching has been prevailing recently for its ability to recover the color and shape of natural teeth without reduction of tooth material. However, it has been reported that bleaching procedure adversely affects the adhesive bond strength of composite resin to tooth. At the same time the bond strength was reported to be regained by application of some chemical agents. The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate the effect of the removal of residual peroxide on the composite- enamel adhesion and also evaluated fracture mode between resin and enamel after bleaching. Sixty extracted human anterior and premolar teeth were divided into 5 groups and bleached by combined technique using office bleaching with 35 % hydrogen peroxide and matrix bleaching with 10% carbamide peroxide for 4 weeks. After bleaching, the labial surfaces of each tooth were treated with catalase, 70% ethyl alcohol, distilled water and filled with composite resin. Shear bond strength was tested and the fractured surfaces were also examined with SEM. Analysis revealed significantly higher bond strength values. (p<0.05) for catalase-treated specimens, but water-treated specimens showed reduction of bond strength, alcohol- treated specimens had medium value between the two groups(p<0.05). The fracture mode was shown that the catalase group and the alchohol group had cohesive failure but the water sprayed group had adhesive failure. It was concluded that the per-oxide residues in tooth after bleaching seems to be removed by gradual diffusion and the free radical oxygen from peroxide prevents polymerization by combining catalyst in the resin monomer. Therefore it may be possible to eliminate the adverse effect on the adhesion of composite resin to enamel after bleaching by using water displacement solution or dentin bonding agent including it for effective removal of residual per-oxide Key words : Vital tooth bleaching, Shear bond strength, Composite resin, Fracture mode catalase, Ethylalcohol, Free oxygen radical, Adhesive failure, Cohesive failure

        장애인 수행능력향상을 위한 보조공학기기 제공과 인간공학적 접근의 필요성

        장애인의 기능을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법 중 하나는 보조공학기기의 제공이다. 보조공학기기의 제공은 감각, 지각, 인지, 운동능력 등을 전문적으로 평가할 수 있는 전문가에 의해 선택, 적용, 훈련되는 것이 중요하다. 또한 근골격계 질환을 예방하기 위한 인간공학적 접근에 대한 이해와 작업분석, 직무조정이 가능한 전문가에 의해 보조공학기기가 제공된다면 잔존기능의 향상 뿐 아니라 업무동안 바람직하지 못한 자세를 유지함으로써 발병할 수 있는 근골격계 질환 예방까지 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 보조공학기기의 이론적 배경과 인간공학적 접근의 이론적 배경을 소개하였고, 적절한 보조도구를 제공한 장애 근로자에 대해 근골격계 질환 위험요인을 측정하였으며, 이를 통한 자세보완이 장애 근로자의 작업 기능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 객관적으로 밝히는 평가결과를 제시하였다. 따라서 장애인의 직업능력을 향상시키려면 다양한 전문가들의 팀 어프로치가 필요하며 체계적인 서비스가 마련되어야 할 것이다. One of the methods to improve functions of the disabled person is to supply assistive devices. It is important for the disabled person that the devices should be supplied by an expert, who is capable of evaluating their sensory, perception, cognition and motor function. Moreover if the expert have knowledge about ergonomlcs, he or she will also prevent the musculo-skeletal disease which may be happen in work place. In this paper, we introduced the theoretical background of the assistive devices and ergonomic approach, and evaluate the risk factors of the musculo-skeletal disease of the disabled worker who was equipped a proper assistive device, and presented objective experimental results that posture intervention by using assistive device can be useful to improve work function of the disabled worker.

        초등교사의 환경관련 수업에 대한 교사전문성

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the professionalism of elementary school teachers and to draw out factors which elementary teachers should try to improve their professionalism for environmental education. For the study, both Quantitative analysis and qualitative methodologies were applied: First, randomly selected 483 elementary teachers from Seoul and Gyeonggi self responded to 5 evaluation areas by Hungerford et al. (1994) to evaluate their environmental education professionalism through the use of five point Likert scale. Second, 2 elementary teachers' environmental classes were observed for the purpose of analyzing strengths and weaknesses in classroom instruction, and then the results of self-evaluation on environmental education professionalism and teacher professionalism as shown in the classes were compared. It was found that 483 elementary teachers including 2 teachers for analyzing classroom instruction who performed a self-evaluation gave themselves mid-scores on the Hungerford et al.'s 5 evaluation areas. However, the result of self-evaluation did not correspond with the result of actual class observation and teacher interview. That is, the actual environmental classes conducted by 2 teachers did not seemed to reflect the evaluation areas which were the foundation of the study: the conceptual awareness, the investigation & evaluation, environmental action skills, and educational application. The results of this study can be used as the basis reference to develop teaching-learning program and in-service programs for professional development of teachers for successful application of environmental education in elementary school classes.

        면접조사를 통한 초등학생의 영양교육 실태 및 실천도 조사

        This study investigated the experience and practice of elementary school students on nutrition education. The data were collected from 217 male and female students attending 5-6th grade elementary schools in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do from March to June 2007, interviewing face to face by a nutrition teacher and 3 interns of a nutrition teacher. The results were as follows: 86.5% of the subjects learned about ‘Table etiquette’, ‘Reasons for eating fruits and vegetables’ (78.7%), ‘Food waste and environment’ (72.3%), ‘Healthy snacks’ (55.7%), ‘Food sanitation’ (52.3%), ‘Food culture of foreign countries’ (48.1%). Nutrition education experience was significantly different by gender. A total of 43.5% boys responded that they never learned about ‘basic food preperation’ (p < 0.01). They had learned ‘Nutrients for body’ and ‘Food waste and environment’ in school, ‘Healthy weight loss’, ‘Food culture of foreign countries’, ‘Food circulation’ on television, Most content (‘Table etiquette’, ‘Simple cooking’, ‘Food sanitati n’, ‘Eating behaviors for health’, ‘Reasons for eating fruits and vegetables’, ‘Healthy snacks’) was learned from parents. The practice after nutrition education was higher in ‘Table etiquette’ (2.14), ‘Eating fruits and vegetables’ (2.07) than others compared with education experience. The most reason of non-practice on nutrition information was ‘Troublesome’. In ‘Nutrients for body’, a boy answered ‘Difficult for practice’ 20.0%, a girl answered ‘Difficult to understand’ 32.6%, showing a significant difference between the gender groups (p < 0.001). They remembered the ‘Nutrients for body’ (49.6%), ‘Food sanitation’ (44.5%) because of ‘important content’,‘Basic food preparation’ (40.6%), ‘Food culture of foreign countries’ (36.3%) because of ‘interesting content’, ‘Healthy weight loss’ (52.0%), ‘Eating behavior for health’ (44.5%) and ‘Healthy snacks’ (33.7%) because of ‘need for my health’.

        새로운 신경전달물질 H₂S 발생 효소, cystathionine γ-lyase의 대량발현 조건과 활성측정

        질병과 밀접한 관계가 있는 hCGL 단백질의 경우 대량 배양 시 유도체를 사용하지 않아도 발현이 되는 점과 유전자 측면에서 조작이 쉬운 E.coli를 이용하여도 발현이 된다는 점에 있어서 중요한 이점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 배양되는 온도와 발현에 관련 있는 유도체의 농도, 600 ㎚에서의 균 성장 정도에 따른 유도체의 첨가 그리고 배지의 양을 조절하면서 유입되는 aeration의 조건으로 hCGL 단백질 발현의 최적의 조건 확립을 목적으로 하였다. 또 각 발생되는 inclusion body의 양을 측정하면서 보다 많은 가용성 단백질을 발현시키는 조건을 확립하고자 하였다. hCGL 단백질은 저온에서 보다 많은 양의 단백질이 발현되며 inhibitor의 억제를 담당하는 유도체의 농도와는 상관없이 발현이 되었다. 또한 균의 성장 정도에 따라 유도체의 첨가시기를 달리 하였을 때, 발현 비율에 차이는 있었으나 전체적인 단백질 양과 비교해 보면, 이는 hCGL 발현에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는다. 배지의 양을 달리하여 살펴본 aeration에 따른 hCGL 발현 정도는 배지의 부피가 15%일 때 높은 aeration으로 균의 양은 많았으나 목적 단백질인 hCGL의 발현은 aeration이 되지 않는 조건에서 더 잘되는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 His-TEV-hCGL의 활성은 야생형 hCGL의 활성을 기준으로 하였을 때, L-cystathionine을 기질로 하였을 경우 76%, L-cysteine을 기질로 하였을 경우 88% 수준으로 유사한 활성을 나타내었고, 이는 손쉽게 정제 가능한 His-TEV-hCGL을 야생형을 대신하여 사용할 수 있음을 시사한다. 또한 His-TEV-hCGL이 야생형 hCGL과 같이, 427 ㎚에서 흡광을 가지는 것으로 보아 보효소PLP를 포함하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이로써 homocysteine 대사연구에 필수적인 hCGL 효소를 다량 얻는 방법을 확립하고, 관련 연구에 기여하리라 사료된다. There is a growing recognition of the significance of H2S as a biological signaling molecule involved in vascular and nervous system functions. In mammals, two enzymes in the transsulfuration pathway, cystathionine β-synthase (CBS) and cystathionine γ-lyase (CGL), are believed to be chiefly responsible for H₂S biogenesis. Genetic inborn error of CGL leads to human genetic disease, cystathioninuria, by accumulating cystathionine in the body. This disease is secondarily associated with a wide range of diseases including diabetes insipidus and Down's syndrome. Although the human CGL (hCGL) overexpression is essential for the investigation of its function, structure, reaction specificity, substrate specificity, and protein-protein interactions, there is no clear report concerning optimum overexpression conditions. In this study, we report a detailed analysis of the overexpression conditions of the hCGL using a bacterial system. Maximum overexpression was obtained in conditions of low culture temperature after inducer addition, performing low aeration during overexpression, and using a low concentration inducer (0.1 mM, IPTG) for induction. Expressed hCGL was purified by His-tag affinity column chromatography and confirmed by Western blot using hCGL antibody and enzyme activity analysis. We also report that the His tag with TEV site attached protein exhibits 76% activity for α-γ elimination reaction with L-cystathionine and 88% for α-β elimination reaction with L-cysteine compared to those of wild type hCGL, respectively. His tag with TEV site attached protein also exhibits a 420 ㎚ absorption maximum, which is attributed to the binding cofactor, pyridoxal 5’-phosphate (PLP).

        The Culture Filtrates from $Bacillus$ $subtilis$ natto Lowers Blood Pressure via Renin-angiotensin System in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats Fed with a High-cholesterol Diet

        Antihypertensive effect of the culture filtrates from $Bacillus$ $subtilis$ natto (CFB) associated with renin-angiotensin system (RAS) as well as fibrinolytic and anti-thrombotic activity was examined. By using the spontaneously hypertensive rats fed with a high-cholesterol diet (0.5% cholesterol and 0.5% cholic acid), biomarkers related to the RAS were measured after 11 week-administration of CFB in the diet at 1 or 2% levels. Systolic blood pressure was significantly attenuated by CFB at both levels. Plasma renin activity was significantly suppressed by CFB, and protein expression of renin in kidney also showed tendency of decrease by administration of CFB, although not statistically significant. Renal angiotensin II concentrations were decreased, whereas plasma angiotensin II concentrations showed no differences among groups. Whole blood clotting and euglobulin clot lysis time showed insignificant changes, but downward tendencies by CFB supplementation. Although further study is necessary to clearly elucidate the related mechanism, taken together, these findings support the hypothesis that CFB could be potentially used as dietary supplement to suppress hypertension.
