We tried to inquire the people's views on nursing or nurses, correct the image of nurse and take it as a basis to be applied on nursing education examining the image of nursing on Television drama playing a important role of mass media. 523 nurses of the characters in drama is applied to the analysis object of this study by selecting 3 American medical dramas, Grey's Anatomy, House M.D, E.R from 2005 to 2007. Contents analysis method was used in Data Analysis, which was used in Lim Mi-lim ?Research on contents analysis on image of nursing on television drama?, 7 Items was used after Coders previously modify and compensate it based on research documents of Kalish & Kalisch(1986), Yoon Young(1983), Lee Hye-Ok(1982), Lee Young-Bok, etc in analysis items. Before making the coding, we did pre-test. 6 Coders made of 3teams, 2 Coders are in each team, made the Codings the article on each person by Item seeing the recorded Film. An each team makes coding about 50episodes, total 147episodes for 2weeks. We used double coding and when the results are different between two coders, we decided just one result through mutual agreement. The average of reliability degree was 97.4% which measured the reliability degree by the method of Holsti. The statistic method of Frequency, Percentage was used using EXCEL Program in data processing. The result of research is as follows. 1. The general feature of nurses on the drama is that they are women(92.7%) which is 20 or 30-aged(70.5%). 2. Relative importance of 65.2% nurses in drama is depicted as surrounding characters and most of them was expressed as the character plating surrounding role. 3. The affair attitude of nurses shown on drama is revealed as active(24.5%), autonomous(32%), kind(16.8%), mechanical(23.2%) and adept(28.4%). However, unknown category is the highest in all affairs. 4. The professional activity of nurses was classified with professional/simple affair, The professional activity of nurses was 80% and simple activity of nurses was 22.9%. The professional activity of nurses was classified with personal/assistant affair. The personal activity of nurses was 61.9% and assistant activity of nurses was 15.1%. 5. The place nurses of the drama appears are hospital(97.7%). 6. The appearance feature of nurses is shown on common physique (55.0%), common stature(79.3%), common appearance(76.1%), common dignity(97.5%) and decent (51.1%). 7. The feature of character of nurses depicted on Television drama is neutral in all 11 affairs. We want the following epigraph based on above conclusion. 1. The continuos research intended for mass people is required about how their image of nurse is changed after watching medical drama. 2. The research to construct monitoring mass media system and make plans for developing is required for nurse image being in a triangular position as a professional job.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the degree of date violence damage, depression, anxiety, and somatization among women in their 20s who had experienced date violence, and to investigate the correlations b etween the subjects’ experience of date violence damage and depression, anxiety and somatization. Method: The subject of this study were collected from September 04 to October 13, 2019, by posting advertisements on the women’s university community site in Seoul and a representative women;s community site on the Internet. 149 subjects were collected in their 20s who had experienced date violence from their partners. SPSS statistics 22.0 statistical program was used for data analysis, and standard deviation, T-test, ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation coefficients were performed. Result: The results showed that the degree of experience of date violence was significantly correlated with symptoms of depression, anxiety, and somatization. Conclusion: Since there was correlations b etween depression, anxiety, and somatization symptoms in date violence victims, it is necessary to apply nursing intervention related to depression and anxiety to prevent somatization symptoms caused by date violence.

Genotoxicity evaluation of electromagnetic fields generated by 835-MHz mobile phone frequency band

It is still unclear whether the exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) generated by mobile phone radiation is directly linked to cancer. We examined the biological effects of an EMF at 835 MHz, the most widely used communication frequency band in Korean CDMA mobile phone networks, on bacterial reverse mutation (Ames assay) and DNA stability (in vitro DNA degradation). In the Ames assay, tester strains alone or combined with positive mutagen were applied in an artificial mobile phone frequency EMF generator with continuous waveform at a specific absorption rate (SAR) of 4 W/kg for 48 h. In the presence of the 835-MHz EMF radiation, incubation with positive mutagen 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide and cumene hydroxide further increased the mutation rate in Escherichia coli WP2 and TA102, respectively, while the contrary results in Salmonella typhimurium TA98 and TA1535 treated with 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide and sodium azide, respectively, were shown as antimutagenic. However, these mutagenic or co-mutagenic effects of 835-MHz radiation were not significantly repeated in other relevant strains with same mutation type. In the DNA degradation test, the exposure to 835-MHz EMF did not change the rate of degradation observed using plasmid pBluescript SK(+) as an indicator. Thus, we suggest that 835-MHz EMF under the conditions of our study neither affected the reverse mutation frequency nor accelerated DNA degradation in vitro.

Purpose: This study aims to identify the effects of self-esteem, relationship with children, Social Networking Services(SNS) use intensity on depression in middle-aged women with college-age children, and to provide basic data for the health promotion of middle-aged women. Method: A sample of 133 middle-aged people was purposely selected from parents of university students. Questionnaires used for this study were CES-D(The Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale), Self-esteem Scale, Relationship with Children Scale, SNS Intensity Scale. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS 21 with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVAs, Pearson correlation, multiple regression. Result: Self-esteem was correlated with relationship with children (r=0.385, p<0.01) and depression (r=-0.440, p<0.01). Relationship with children was correlated with depression(r=-0.402, p<0.01). As a result, a factor having the greatest influence on the subject's depression degree was self-esteem(β=-0.335), followed by relationship with children(β=-0.274). Conclusion: The result of this study suggested that depression in middle-aged women is closely related to self-esteem and relationship with children. This result can be used in Nursing by developing the theoretical basis for education program related to enhancing self-esteem and relationship with children.

Aripiprazole exerts a neuroprotective effect in mouse focal cerebral ischemia

<P>Previous studies have demonstrated that aripiprazole (APZ), a third-generation atypical antipsychotic drug, exhibits anti-depressant and neuroprotective effects by promoting dopaminergic neuronal cell recovery in stroke. To investigate the neuroprotective effects of APZ, behavioral and histopathological experiments were performed in the current study a mouse model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)-induced ischemia following administration of APZ. The subacute phase of ischemic assaults was divided into 3 periods, each with a duration of 5 days, according to the start of APZ (3 mg/kg) administration (1–5, 5–9 or 10–14 days following MCAO). The beneficial effects of APZ on motor behavior demonstrated in the cylinder, rotarod and wire suspension tests were greatest when APZ was administered 1–5 days following MCAO, with clear improvements in motor function compared with vehicle-treated mice. Histopathological analysis revealed that prominent atrophic changes occurred in the striatum of MCAO mice and that these changes were reduced following APZ treatment. APZ also attenuated dopaminergic neuronal injury in the striatum. Cell death and microglial activation were decreased and the expression of Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II δ was enhanced following APZ treatment. These results indicate that the atypical antipsychotic drug, APZ, exhibits a neuroprotective effect in dopaminergic neuronal cells that may improve behavioral function following ischemic stroke.</P>

Number Density of Mast Cells in the Primo Nodes of Rats

Mast cells (MCs) play a major role in allergic reactions. Surprisingly, the acupuncture points have a higher density of MCs compared with nonacupoints in the skin, which is consistent with the augmentation of the immune function by acupuncture treatment. We hypothesized that the primo vascular system (PVS), which was proposed as the anatomical structure of the acupuncture points and meridians, should have a high density of MCs. In order to test that hypothesis, we investigated the primo nodes isolated from the surfaces of internal organs, such as the liver, the small and the large intestines, and the bladder. The harvested primo nodes were stained with toluidine blue, and the MCs were easily recognized by their red-purple stains and their characteristic granules. The results showed a high density of MCs in the primo nodes and confirmed the hypothesis. The MCs were uniformly distributed in the nodes. The relative concentration of the MCs with respect to other cells was ~15%. We divided the sizes of the primo nodes into three classes: large, medium, and small. The number density and the relative concentration of MCs did not show a size-dependence. The current work suggests that the PVS may participate in the immune response to allergic inflammation, which closely involves MCs.

Use of the BINP HLS to measure vertical changes in the locations of the building and ground at the PAL-XFEL

<P>The Pohang Accelerator Laboratory's X-ray free-electron laser (PAL-XFEL), a 4 (th) generation light source, is currently being installed and will be completed by December 2015 so that users can be supported beginning in 2016. The PAL-XFEL equipment must continuously maintain the bunch-tobunch beam parameters (60 Hz, Energy: 10 GeV, Charge: 200 pC, Bunch Length: 60 fs, Emittance X/Y: 0.481/0.256 mm rad) in order to supply stable photons with the energy and flux appropriate for tests by beamline users. To this end, the PAL-XFEL equipment has to be kept precisely aligned (Linear Accelerator: +/- 100 mu m, Undulator: +/- 50 mu m). As a part of the process for installing the PAL-XFEL, a GPS-using surface geodetic network is being constructed for precise equipment measurement and alignment, and the installation of a tunnel measurement network inside the buildings is in the preparation stage; additionally, the fiducialization of major equipment is underway. After the PAL-XFEL equipment is optimized and aligned, if the ground and the buildings go through vertical changes during operation, misalignment (and tilt) of the equipment, including various magnets and RF structures, will cause errors in the electron beam's trajectory, which will lead to changes to the beam parameters. For continuous and systemic measurement of vertical changes in the buildings and monitoring of ground sinking and uplifting, the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics (BINP) Ultrasonic-type Hydrostatic Levelling System (HLS) is to be installed and operated in all sections of the PAL-XFEL for the linear accelerator, the insertion device (undulator) and the beamline. This study will introduce the operation principle, design concept, and advantages (self-calibration) of the HLS and will outline its installation plan and operation plan.</P>
