      • Induction of heme oxygenase-1 protects against podocyte apoptosis under diabetic conditions

        Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is an anti-oxidant enzyme normally upregulated in response to oxidant injury. Here we determined the role of HO-1 in podocyte apoptosis in glomeruli of streptozotocin-treated rats and in immortalized mouse podocytes cultured in media containing normal or high glucose. HO-1 expression, its activity, the ratio of Bax/Bcl-2 protein, and active caspase-3 fragments were all significantly higher in isolated glomeruli of diabetic rats and in high glucose–treated podocytes. These increases were inhibited by zinc protoporphyrin treatment of the rats or by HO-1 siRNA treatment of the podocytes in culture. The number of apoptotic cells was also significantly increased in the glomeruli of diabetic rats and in high glucose–treated podocytes. Inhibition of HO-1 accentuated the increase in apoptotic cells both in vivo and in vitro. Our findings suggest that HO-1 expression protects against podocyte apoptosis under diabetic conditions.

        U-City 적용 기술의 경제성 분석 방법에 관한 연구

        This research is follow-up study of Kim Ji-Hyun?Kim Ho-Kee?Jung Chang-Mu(2010) and Kim Ji-Hyun?Kim Ho-Kee(2010). The fields of technology for applying to U-City are extensive and each type of technology within the sector is diverse. Such being the case, the purpose of this research is to suggest a process(or method) for analyzing economic efficiency of U-City technologies. The process is composed of few works that technology classification, deduction of assessment items, making questionnaire, survey and analysis. By using conjoint analysis, we can calculate few results like values of each technology, marginal rate of substitution between assessment items. Those values are very useful to analysis economic efficiency of U-City technologies. This research has its meaning as attempt to suggest methodology for creating a standard of judgement that can be used to choose more efficient technologies.

        자폐장애 환자에서 FMR-1 유전 삼염기 반복의 분자생물학적 분석

        연구목적 : 자폐장애의 원인을 유전학적으로 규명하려는 연구가 시도되고 있으며, 그 중 fragile-X 증후군과의 연관성에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. fragile-X 염색체(Xq27.3)는 세포유전학적 방법으로 증명할 수 있으나 검사에 많은 제약과 단점이 있으므로, 본 연구에서는 보다 신뢰성이 높은 분자 생물학적 방법으로 FMR-1 유전자내 CGG 삼염기 반복부위를 분석하여 자폐장애와 fragile-X 증후군의 연관성을 규명하고자 하였다. 방법 : 자폐장애 환아(99명)와 정상대조군(8명)을 대상으로 FMR-1 유전자의 CGG 반복배열 부위를 sense와 antisense primer를 이용하여 PCR법으로 분석하엿으며, 동시에 세포유전학적 검사도 시행하였다. PCR 분석에서 CGG 반복수가 50 이상인 경우에 대해서는 StB12.3 혹은 Pfxa3 probe를 이용한 Sourthern blot hybridization으로 확인하였다. 결과 : FMR-1 유전자의 CGG 반복배열에 대한 PCR 분석 결과 CGG 삼염기의 반복배열의 수는 자폐장애 환자군과 정상대조군 사이에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다(p=0.207). 자폐장애 환자에서 CGG 반복수가 50회 이상인 조기변이(premutation) 환자가 2명 있었으나 Sourthern blot hybridization 결과 완전변이(full mutation)로 판정할 수 있는 경우는 없었다. 세포유전학적 검사에서 환자군 모두에서 정상 핵형을 나타내었으며 fragile-X 염색체는 확인되지 않았다. 결론 : 이상의 결과에서 자페장애 환자가 FMR-1 유전자의 CGG 삼염기 반복부위 이상, 즉 fragile-X 염색체 이상을 동반하지 않았음을 증명할 수 있었다. 이는 fragile-X 증후군을 자�장애의 직접적인 원인이라고 보기에는 어려움이 있음을 시사한다. Objectives : There has been a rapid expansion of studies aimed at elucidating the genetic basis of autistic disorder, especially it's relationship to fragile-X syndrome. The detection of fragile X chromosome(Xq27.3) by cytogenetic analysis has revealed many difficulties in testing. Therefore, to explore the relationship between autistic disorder and fragile X syndrome, this study administered molecular biologic methods which examined an unstable CGG repeat within the fragile X mental retardation-1(FMR-1) gene. Methods : Ninety nine autistic children and eight normal control children were tested. The number of CGG repeats within FMR-1 gene was measured after amplification by PCR, and cytogenetic analysis was also carried out to detect fragile site Xq27.3. Sourthern blot hybridization, using StB12.3 and/or Pfxa3 probe, was done for the patients showing expansion of more than 50 CGG repeats(premutation). Results : All but two autistic patients had no expansion in CGG repeats by PCR and there was no significant statistical difference in number of CGG repeat in comparison with normal control. Two autistic patients, considered as premutation by PCR analysis, had no full mutation or premutation by Southern blot hybridization. All autistic children tested did not have any abnormal karyotype or fragile site Xq27.3. Conclusions : These results suggest that autistic patients may not have abnormality in FMR-1 gene or abnormal expansion in CGG repeat. In conclusion, fragile X syndrome may not be antecedent of autistic disorder. KEY WORDS : Autistic disorder·FMR-1 gene trinucleotide repeats·Molecular biologic analysis.

      • 객체 지향모델인 Actor에서 최대 병렬성 지원의 순차 합성법

        Actor 모델은 병렬 처리 구조를 기반으로 하는 병행 합성 방법을 사용하고 있기 때문에 특별히 문장의 처리 순서가 유지되어야 하는 순차 합성의 경우에는 고객 actor를 생성하여 이용하는 방법으로 처리하고 있다. 그러나, 이 고객 actor로 하여금 다음 문장의 처리를 전가시키는 방법에서 발생되는 병렬성 감소로 인하여 Actor 모델 자체의 미세화 병행성 개념에 위배된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이를 개선하기 위한 방법으로서 순차 합성의 경우에 각 프로세스들 간에 의존성을 평가하여 동일한 시스템을 유지하면서 병렬성을 극대화하는 MPS 알고리즘을 세 가지로 제시하였다. 제안된 알고리즘을 이용한 MPS는 앞장에서 살펴본 바와 같이 그 병렬성은 기존의 Actor 모델에서와 같이 고객 actor를 이용하는 처리 방식보다 증가되었으며, 또한 [정리 1,2]를 이용한 알고리즘보다는 전달 기능의 고객 actor를 제거하는 방법이 궁극적으로 프로세스의 수를 줄일 수 있기 때문에 매우 효율적인 방법으로 평가되었다. 이 알고리즘은 Actor 모델의 구현을 위한 커널의 설계에 있어서 병렬 처리 구조가 갖는 병행 처리의 정도를 최대로 부여하기 위해 제안하였다. In Actor model based on message-passing mechanism and parallel architecture, all commands in an Actor are processed concurrently. However, when sequential processing of commands must be preserved, it can be solved by creating actors called customers which are to do delegation, because concurrent compositions inherent in Actor, are not enough to do the sequential processing of commands. In this paper, the dependency between expressions in the sequential composition of actor commands is analyzed, and the sequential composition method for supporting minimal sequentiality and maximal parallelism in the Actor model is presented.

      • 컴파일러 최적화를 위한 코드 스케쥴링

        This paper deals with instruction scheduling, one area of compiler optimization. This assures the correctness of program execution during occuring the interlock and reduces the execution time in pipelined processor. DAG(Directed Acyclic Graph) is used to represent the problem and is proven to be pretty convinient to represent the various Kinds of serialization constraints. Gibbon's scheduling algorithm with O(n²) is introdued to schedule the instruction from DAG. Three heuristics and some assumptions are explained to prevent the problem to be O(n⁴). Furthermore, the impact on another phase in compiler is discused. Actually this scheduling algorithm assumes to perform the instruction scheduling after register allocation. More work relating to this area will be the relationship beween two phases-register allocation and code schduling.

        공조기 필터차압관리에 의한 팬동력 에너지 저감 평가 및 운용시스템 개발

        This paper presents the results of research into the problem of air filter management related with the air filter-associated fan energy consumption. Both energy performance data and air filter differential pressure of AHU in real commercial buildings were monitored and analyzed to investigate quantitatively energy impact as dust buildup level on air filter grows. An empirical equation was suggested through the regression analysis of multiple independent variables. An air filter differential pressure management model is also proposed and described as being an economical strategy in preventing high energy consumption. The system can create a useful alarm on a real time basis which would detect when an air filter needs to be changed and alert the building operator to do so, thereby minimizing the energy consumed by the air conditioning system.

        시상부위에 발생한 단일성 뇌농양 : 증례 보고 및 문헌고찰 Report of Two Cases and Review of the Literature

        The authors present two cases of solitary thalamic abscess which were intially diagnosed as malignant thalamic glioma. After treatment with steroids and osmotic agents, the patients' clinical conditions improved after two to three days. However, sudden deterioration of consciousness level developed and the CT scan showed acute hydrocephalus with increment of thalamic low-density lesions. We performed extraventricular drainage and obtained CSF containing numerous inflammatory cells. This suggested the possibility that the lesion was a pyogenic abscess. which progressed to ventriculitis, rather than a malignant glioma. Stereotactic aspiration of the lesion confirmed thalamic abscess. These findings and review of previous reports of thalamic abscess suggested that early diagnosis and stereotactic drainage of the thalamic abscess is of primary importance.

        About the steel pipe built-up scaffolding(BTS), which is being used in domestic construction sites, there are no related codes to the overall capacity of the BTS in the Industrial Safety and Health Act (ISHA) but only the ones which describe the testing method and the capacity of the each member of BTS. So we need to know the full capacity of the BTS at the time of the being used stage, not the ones of the members but the one of the total BTS frame. In this study, first, the vertical frame member which is the basic element of the BTS frame, is tested for its capacity. Second, the load test about the full strength of the BTS system are performed in two ways namely, for the first-story and the second-story BTS frame. In each case, the centric load(1/2 L) test and the eccentric load(1/4 L, 0L) tests are carried out, where L is the longer length of the BTS frame. According to the results of the experiments, first, the load endurance capacity of the first-story BTS frame are larger than the one of the second-story BTS frame at the same conditions. Second, the centric load endurance capacity is bigger than the one of the eccentric loading in the same story BTS system structure.

        Fluoxetine 투여후 발생한 추체외로증후군 3례

        The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor fluoxetine is one of the most frequently prescribed drugs for the treatment of depression and other psychiatric disorders. In the few years, there have been several reports of adverse effects encountered during coadministration of fluoxetine with or without other psychotropic drugs. We experienced three cases of extrapyramidal symptoms were developed when admini-stered fluoxetine alone and with neuroleptics. We conclude that there is a probable or possible causal relationship between fluoxetine and extrapyramidal side effects. The pathogenesis of such adverse reactions, which may be hetero-geneous, is unknown, but it has been suggested that they might be caused by serotonergically mediated inhibition of dopaminergic transmission. From reports in those cases, it appears that fluoxetine alone may be associated with extrapyramidal side reactions. Furthermore the potential for increased levels of concomitant psychotropic medicines and increased side effects, should be borne in mind.

      • 토목공사 정보관리를 위한 Uniclass 시스템의 활용성 분석

        A standardized construction information classification system is essential for organizing construction CALS and CM. In 1997, Uniclass system was developed for superseding CI/SfB system that was being used as a representative WBS. Uniclass system is organized on the basis of ISO frame and consists of tables for classifying information related to construction management and electronic commerce. This study was implemented for the analysis of applicability of Uniclass system, comparing with CI/SfB system, as a WBS for the construction CALS. This study suggests a alternative table of Uniclass to improve applicability in practical use. Uniclass system was analyzed as the best classification system for the civil engineering project among the existing systems, howewer, the classified items for CM and construction CALS need to be modified with more detailed items.
