        Research Articles : Geographic Genetic Contour of A Leaf Beetle, Chrysolina aurichalcea (Coleoptera: Chysomelidae), on the Basis of Mitochondrial COI Gene and Nuclear ITS2 Sequences

        The leaf beetle, Chrysolina aurichalcea (Coleoptera: Chysomelidae), is a pest damaging plants of Compositae. In order to understand the genetic diversity and geographic variation we sequenced a portion of mitochondrial COI gene (658 bp) and complete nuclear internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) of the species collected from seven Korean localities. A total of 17 haplotypes (CACOI01~CACOI17), with the maximum sequence divergence of 3.04% (20 bp) were obtained from COI gene sequence, whereas 16 sequence types (ITS2CA01~ITS2CA16), with the maximum sequence divergence of 2.013% (9 bp) were obtained from ITS2, indicating substantially larger sequence divergence in COI gene sequence. Phylogenetically, the COI gene provided two haplotype groups with a high nodal support (≥87%), whereas ITS2 provided only one sequence type group with a high nodal support (≥92%). The result of COI gene sequence may suggest the presence of historical biogeographic barriers that bolstered genetic subdivision in the species. Different grouping pattern between COI gene and ITS2 sequences were interpreted in terms of recent dispersal, reflected in the ITS2 sequence. Finding of unique haplotypes and sequence types only from Beakryeng-Islet population was interpreted as an intact remnant of ancient polymorphism. As more samples are analyzed using further hyper-variable marker, further fruitful inference on the geographic contour of the species might be available.

      • 韓國人 學生의 腦機能 優勢(Cerebral Dominance)와 손잡이(Handedness)의 傾向

        This study was investigated the effects of specialization of brain functions, the distribution of handedness and the correlation between cerebral dominance and handedness. This was surveyed with the samples of 1,302 Korean boys and girls attending in junior high school and senior high school, residing in Taegu city. In this study, Alfred W. Munzert's questionnaire and Tames Bliss & Joseph Morella's questionnaire were used as the instrument for assessing the thend of cerebral dominance and handedness. The results obtained were as follows: Out of the total number of 1,302 examined, 73.7% of them were regarded as right hemisphere dominant type and 12.6% of them were regarded as left hemisphere dominant type. In right hemisphere dominant type, students of junior high school were higher incidence than senior high School. In bilateral and left hemisphere dominant type, students of senior high school were higher incidence than junior high school. In right handers most of them were right hemisphere dominant type. In left handers, most of them were right hemisphere dominant type and the incidence of boys were higher than girls.

        기술역량, 혁신성, 관리역량이 구매IOS성과에 미치는 영향

        IOS(Inter-Organizational Information Systems)는 전통적인 제조업을 비롯한 모든 산업분야에서 폭넓게 활용되고 있으며, 광범위하게 흩어져 있는 공급자, 유통망, 고객들을 연결해 주는 주문시스템이 일반적이다. 실무적으로는 EDI나 SCM 등과 같은 형태로 구현되고 있는 이 IOS가 최근 들어 이들 조직 간의 거래활동을 혁신적으로 변화시키고 있지만, 실제 적용에 도움을 줄 수 있는 구매성과에 관련된 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있다. 따라서 본 논문의 연구목적은 기술역량, 혁신성, 관리역량이 구매IOS 성과에 미치는 영향을 검정하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 기존 연구로부터 네 개의 가설을 도출하여 연구모형을 수립하였고, 구조방정식모형으로 이를 검정하였다. 검정결과 혁신성과 관리역량은 구매IOS품질에 직접적으로 관련이 되어 있으며, 이 구매IOS품질은 구매성과를 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 기술역량과 구매IOS품질과의 관계에서는 기업 규모에 따라 상이한 결과를 보였다. 이 결과에 의하면 대기업의 경우 중소기업과는 달리 기술역량이 중요한 요인인 것으로 검정되었으므로, 개별기업이나 관련기관에서 IOS 구축을 위한 정보기술 투자정책 수립 시에는 기업규모에 따라 차별화된 접근방법이 요구된다.

        구순구개열 환아에서의 치조골이식

        치조파열 및 구개열과 같은 선천성 기형은 이환된 환자에게 기능적, 심미적으로 많은 문제점을 야기하므로 정상으로 회복시켜 주는 것은 중요한 문제이다. 장기간 방치될 경우 영양장애, 구강위생 불량, 호흡기 간염, 언어 장애, 악안면 변형, 그리고 정신적인 문제 등이 복합적으로 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 구순구개열 환자의 치료는 여러 전문 치료 분야의 복합적인 접근이 필요하다. 골이식은 구순구개열 환자에 있어 중요한 치과치료 단계이다. 치아의 맹출과 치열의 안정화를 위해 치열궁은 골격손이 없이 완전해져야 한다. 또한 치열궁의 파열이 있는 부위로는 정상적인 교정적 치아이동이 곤란하다. 따라서 구순구개열 환자에 있어 골이식은 광범위하게 적용되고 있는 외과적 술식이다. 치조골을 이식함으로써 치조열은 안정화되고, 견치 또는 절치가 이식부위로 이동할 수 있게 된다. 그리고 골 이식 후, 교정을 통해 치조열 부위의 공간을 폐쇄함으로써 보철 치료 없이 치열을 재형성할 수 있다. 골이식술에는 다양한 이식재료가 사용되었다. 자가골을 이식할 경우 장골이 가장 선호되며, 그 밖에 경골, 늑골, 두개골, 하악골을 이용하기도 한다. 그리고 골이식은 골이식 시기에 따라 일차골이식, 조기 이차골이식, 이차골이식, 만기 이차골이식으로 구분할 수 있다. 이차골이식은 혼합치열기 말경에 시행되는 것을 말하며 가장 좋은 것으로 받아들여지고 있다. 영구 견치가 맹출되기 전에 이차골이식을 시행하면 인접치아의 맹출과 보존에 도움이 된다. 본 증례에서는 치조구개파열 환자의 장골에서 골을 채취하여 골 이식을 시행한 후, 골이 채워진 이식 부위에 인접 치아가 성공적으로 이동하거나 치축이 개선되고 교정치료를 통해 치열궁 배열의 만족스러운 결과를 얻었기에 이를 보고하는 바이다 Cleft lip and palate are congenital craniofacial malformation. Reconstruction of dental arch in patient with alveolo-palatal clefts is very important, because they have many problems in functions and esthetics. Malnutrition, poor oral hygiene, respiratory infections, speech malfunctions, maxillofacial deformity, and psychological problems may be occured without proper treatment during the long period of management of the cleft lip and palate. So the treatment should be managed with a multidisciplinary approach. Bone grafting is a consequential step in the dental rehabilitation of the cleft lip and palate patient. A complete alveolar arch should be achieved of the teeth to erupt in and to form a stable dentition. And the presence of the cleft complicate the orthodontic treatment. Therefore bone grafting in patients with cleft lip and palate is a widely adopted surgical procedure. Grafted bone stabilizes the alveolar process and allows the canine or incisor to move into the graft site. After the bone grafting, orthodontic closure of the maxillary arch has become a common practice for achieving dental reconstruction without any prosthodontic treatment. Various grafting materials have been used in alveolar clefts. Iliac bone is most widely fovoured, but tibia, rib, cranial bone, mandible have also been used. And according to its time of occurrence, the bone graft may be divided into primary, early secondary, secondary, late secondary. Bone grafting is called secondary when performed later, at the end of the mixed dentition. It is the most accepted procedure and has become part of treatment of protocol. A secondary bone graft is performed preferably before the eruption of the permanent canine in order to provide adequate periodontal support for the eruption and preservation of the teeth adjacent to the cleft. In this report, we report here on a patient with unilateral cleft lip and palate, who underwent iliac bone graft. The cleft was fully obliterated by grafted bone in the region of the alveolar process. The presence of bone permitted physiologic tooth movement and the orthodontic movement of adjacent tooth into the former cleft area. Satisfactory arch alignment could be achieved in by subsequent orthodontic treatment.

      • 백서에서 신 허혈성 손상에 미치는 칼슘 길항제의 효과

        Renal ischemia is one of the most common causes of acute renal failure. Four factors related to the pathogenesis of acute renal failure are vasoconstriction, decreased glomerular filtration rate, tubular back leak of filtrate, and intratubular obstruction. The cellular response to renal ischemic insults include decreased content of adenosine trihosphate, lipid peroxidation induced membrane degradation, alteration in cellular pH, and calcium or phospholipase induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Much attention has been given to the role of increased cellular calcium as a pathogenetic contributor to cell injury during ischemia. Author studied the protective effects of calcium antagonists on cellular injury during renal ischemia in rat. To investigate the protective role of these agents, author measured the amount of malondialdehyde(MDA) and the enzyme activities of free radical scarvengers-superoxide dismutase(SOD), catalase and glutathione peroxidase from non-pretreated group and calcium antagonists pretreated groups in control, ischemia and reflow subgroups. The results were summerized as follows: 1) The amount of MDA in non-pretreated group was higher in the reflow compared with the control(<p<0.01). But, in all pretreated groups, there was no statistically difference in the amount of MDA. 2) The SOD activity in non-pretreated group was lower in both the ischemia and the reflow compared with the control (P<0.05). But, in both verapamil and trifluoperazine-pretreated groups, there was no statistically difference in the SOD activity. 3) Both catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities in non-pretreated group were lower in both the ischemia and the reflow compared with the control (P<0.05). But in all pretreated groups, there was no statically difference in both catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities. These results suggest that free radical mediated ischemic injury by renal artery clamp in rat can be protected by intraperitoneal pretreatment with calcium antagonists. As trifluoperazine has a protective effect in renal ischemia, the calcium activated calmodulin dependent enzyme may play a role in renal ischemic injury.

        푸드뱅크 기탁식품의 안전성 확보를 위한 HACCP 제도 적용

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the problems arising from the actual conditions of the Foodbank, and to implement the HACCP system as a solution in terms of increasing the safety of donated food within the Foodbank. In order to apply HACCP system, the entire Foodbank working process such as preparation, collection, transportation, division, and distribution was considered and analyzed to decide the application point for CCPs. Donated foods mainly consisted of processed foods, raw materials, lunch boxes, and cooked foods from mass catering establishments, which dominated over the others in terms of quantity. Cooked foods were divided into three groups based on menu-types and processing methods. Temperature, pH, and aw were measured on cooked foods, and Total Plate Count, Coliforms, E. coli, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, and E. coli O157:H7 were conducted in order to apply a HACCP plan. Form these experiments, temperature, pH, and aw of donated food were likely contributed to microbial growth. Donated foods before HACCP implementation showed high numbers in terms of total plate count and Coliforms, both well over the acceptable standard levels. By setting the CCPs on maintenance of donated food below 10℃ and using a 75 ℃ reheating method, microbiological hazard levels were able to be controlled and lowered. From these results, it is concluded that in order to guarantee food safety, foods donated to the Foodbank must not only maintain a reasonable level of initial microbiological growth, but also must be handled properly through time and temperature controls within the Foodbank system. Furthermore, in terms of implementing the HACCP plan within the Foodbank management structure, basic food safety and sanitation measures, such as reheating facilities and various cold chain systmes such as refrigerated vehicle for food transportation are importantly needed. The training and education of Foodbank personnel and management in areas such as awareness of hygiene and safe food handling and practice are also required and necessary.

        저선량 γ선 조사가 고추의 광합성과 광 스트레스 경감에 미치는 효과

        고추 종자에 저선량 γ선을 조사시킨 고추 식물체의 생육과 광합성 능 및 광 스트레스 반응에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 저선량 4 Gy가 조사된 고추 식물체에서 광합성에 의한 산소발생이 대조구에 비해 1.5배정도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 고추 잎에 900 μmol/㎡/s의 빛의 세기로 광저해를 4시간 유도하였을 때 최대 광합성능 (Pmax)이 대조구의 경우 20%정도 감소되는 반면 4 Gy 조사구는 3% 정도의 감소를 보였다. Fv/Fm는 광저해가 진행됨에 따라 감소되는 경향을 보이며 대조구의 경우 4시간 처리시 fv/Fm 값이 50% 정도 감소되는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 반면 4 Gy조사구는 fv/Fm값이 대략 37%정도 감소되어 대조구에 비해 광 스트레스에 대해 덜 민감한 것으로 나타났다. Fo는 광저해가 진행됨에 따라 거의 변화가 없었으며 대조구나 4 Gy 조사구 사이의 차이도 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 광계Ⅱ의 광양자 수율인 Φ_PSⅡ과 광계Ⅱ 반응중심에 의한 여기 포획률을 나타내주는 1/Fo-1/Fm 또한 광저해가 진행됨에 따라 감소되었으며 4시간을 처리했을 경우 각각 대조구는 47%, 4 Gy 조사구는 30%의 감소를 볼 수 있었다. 비광화학적 소멸인 NPQ는 광저해가 진행됨에 따라 감소되는 경향을 보였으나 대조구와 4 Gy 조사구간에 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 볼 때 종자의 종피를 투과한 저선량의 γ선이 식물의 광합성을 증대시키고 동시에 광 스트레스에 대한 저해를 감소시키는 것으로 보인다. The effect of low dose Y radiation on photosynthesis and the reduction of photoinhibition in red pepper plant was investigated. The seedling height, leaf width and leaf length of pepper were stimulated in plants grown from seeds irradiated with the tow dose of 4 Gy. The O_2 evolution in the 4 Gy irradiation group was 1.5 times greater than in the control. To investigate the effect of low dose Y radiation on response to high light stress, photoinhibition was induced in leaves of pepper by illumination of high light (900 μ㏖/㎡/s). Pmax was decreased with increasing illumination time by 20% in the control, while hardly decreased in the 4 Gy irradiation group. The photochemical yield of PSII, estimated as Fv/Fm, was decreased with increasing illumination time by 50% after 4 hours while Fo did not change. However, Fv/Fm in the 4 Gy irradiation group was decreased by 37% of inhibition, indicating that the photoinhibition was decreased by the low dose Y radiation. Changes in the effective quantum yield of PSII, Φpsu, and 1/Fo-1/Fm, a measure of the rate constant of excitation trapping by the PSII reaction center, showed similar pattern to Fv/Fm. And NPQ was decreased after photoinhibitry treatment, showing no difference between the control and the 4 Gy irradiation group. These results showed the positive effect of low dose Y radiation on the seedling growth and the reduction of photoinhibition.

        C-axis oriented YBa_(2)Cu_(3)O_(7-δ) (YBCO) thin films on R-cut sapphire substrate were grown by pulsed laser deposition. CeO_(2) film was used as a buffer layer for YBCO deposition on R-cut sapphire substrate. Crystallinity of CeO_(2) buffer layer was researched by XRD. Surface morphology and superconducting properties of YBCO thin films were characterized by SEM and four probe method. Critical temperature of YBCO thin films was ≥89 K, and critical current density was 1.5 x10^(6) A/cm^(2) if at 77 K.
