      • P-77 Polymorphisms in mitosis-related genes and survival outcome of early stage non-small cell lung cancer

        Recently, it has been reported that variants of mitosis-related genes can be affect chromosome stability. We evaluated the association between these variants and survival outcome in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In total, 766 patients with NSCLC who underwent curative surgery were enrolled. Seventy-three variants form 25 mitosis-related genes were genotyped and their associations with survival outcome were analyzed. BUB3 rs7897156 C>T and AURKB rs1059476 G>A were significant associated overall survival under a recessive model (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR], 1.58, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.07-2.33, P = 0.02 and aHR 0.64, 95% CI 0.41-0.99, P = 0.05, respectively). PTTG1 rs1895320 T>C and RAD21 rs1374297 C>G were associated with worse disease-free survival under a recessive model (aHR 2.46, 95% CI 1.43-4.23, P = 0.001 and aHR 1.32, 95% CI 1.00-1.75, P = 0.05, respectively). We conducted functional analysis of the BUB3 rs7897156 C>T using luciferase reporter assay. Relative luciferase activity of BUB3 rs7897156 T allele was higher than C allele in H1299 and A549 cell line (P = 0.02 and 0.003, respectively). The BUB3 mRNA expression level in normal tissue also higher in rs7897156 CT or TT genotypes than in rs7897156 CC genotype (P = 0.04). These results suggest that four variants of mitosis-related genes (BUB3 rs7897156 C>T, AURKB rs1059476 G>A, PTTG1 rs1895320 T>C and RAD21 rs1374297 C>G) may affect prognosis of surgically resected NSCLC.

        GPS L1 C/A 신호를 위한 심층신경망을 이용한 단일 연속파 재밍 검출기법

        . In this paper, a novel deep neural network-based single continuous wave jamming detection scheme is proposed for Global Positioning System (GPS) L1 Coarse/Acquisition (C/A) signals, which are used most frequently in civilian satellite-based navigation systems. The main environmental variables considered are as follows: The effective jamming power-to-noise spectral density ratio (J/N0) has a range of 34 dB-Hz to 64 dB-Hz; the center frequency and Doppler frequency of a single continuous wave jamming occur uniformly within ± 1 KHz and within ± 10 KHz, respectively, based on the center frequency of the GPS L1 C/A signal. The designed deep neural network consists of six hidden layers and one SoftMax layer. In order to assess the performance of the proposed scheme, the energy detection scheme that is frequently used for the detection of single continuous wave jamming at pre-correlation level is considered as a conventional scheme. When the false alarm probability is set to 10-5 via simulation, it was confirmed that the detection probability of the proposed scheme is approximately 98% or higher, while that of the conventional scheme is approximately 78% at an effective J/N0 of 61 dB-Hz.

        FH-BOC 신호를 위한 비모호 상관함수 설계

        Frequency hopping binary offset carrier (FH-BOC) signals use a wider band than other BOC signals, resulting in high signaltracking accuracy and low ambiguity for their correlation functions. Even with these improved metrics, ambiguities remain in correlationfunctions and could lead to false locking during code tracking. The FH-BOC signal is obtained from a time division multiple combiningmultiple BOC signals with different frequencies through a process called frequency hopping. This report outlines the common pulsecomponent between several sub-carriers of the FH-BOC signal. This pulse is correlated with the received signal and combined to design anunambiguous correlation function for the FH-BOC signal. Compared to the FH-BOC signal’s correlation function, the designedunambiguous correlation function is less affected by multipaths because more power is concentrated at the main peak. .

        TERT Polymorphism rs2853669 Influences on Lung Cancer Risk in the Korean Population

        Short telomeres are known as one of the risk factors for human cancers. The present study was conducted to evaluate the association between 6 polymorphisms, which were related with short telomere length in the Korean population, and lung cancer risk using 1,100 cases and 1,096 controls. Among the 6 polymorphisms, TERT rs2853669 was significantly associated with increased lung cancer risk under a recessive model (odds ratio [OR] = 1.38, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.05-1.81, P = 0.02). The effect of rs2853669 on lung cancer risk was significant in younger individuals (OR = 1.73, 95% CI = 1.18-2.54, P = 0.005) and adenocarcinoma (OR = 1.50, 95% CI = 1.07-2.07, P = 0.02). Our results suggest that a common functional promoter polymorphism, TERT rs2853669, may influence both telomere length and lung cancer risk in the Korean population.

        SPWVD-PSD 겹침 이미지를 이용한 전이학습기반 GNSS 재밍식별기법

        In this paper, a transfer learning-based global navigation satellite system (GNSS) jamming classification scheme using overlapped images of the smoothed pseudo-Wigner-Ville distribution (SPWVD) and power spectral density (PSD) is proposed. Five types of jamming are considered: amplitude modulation jamming (continuous wave interference), linear chirp jamming, frequency modulation jamming, narrow-band noise jamming, and distance measurement equipment jamming (pulse jamming). The performance of the proposed scheme is shown to be the F1 score and the confusion matrix for pre-mentioned 5 jamming types with no jamming case. A representative conventional transfer learning-based GNSS jamming classification scheme uses a concatenated image comprising a spectrogram, in-phase and quadrature constellation, PSD, and histogram. However, in conventional schemes, the spectrogram's time-frequency (TF) resolution is low and image quality is reduced by concatenating the images. In comparison, the proposed scheme uses SPWVD with high TF resolution and there is no degradation of image quality caused by overlapping. Through cross-validation and testing using the same dataset, the average classification accuracy of the conventional scheme using supported vector machine (SVM), logistics regression (LR), and random forest (RF) were 97.7%, 97.5%, 96.5%, respectively, compared to 98.8%, 98.5%, and 98.0%, respectively, for the proposed scheme. The average classification accuracy of the proposed scheme was approximately 1.1%p, 1.0%p, and 1.5%p better than that of the conventional scheme for SVM, LR, and RF, respectively. .

        Heat penetration and quality analysis of retort processed vegetables for home meal replacement foods

        Heat penetration characteristics of different vegetable products were investigated during retort processing. A custom-developed variable temperature retort-sterilizer allowed us to test the following target retort-temperatures; 120, 130, 140, and 150 °C, combined with the following holding times: 1, 3, 5, 7 min. Radish showed the highest heating rate (9.56 ± 0.21 °C/min) among the tested vegetables, including radish, carrot, and potato. Textural qualities of retort-processed vegetables showed a close correlation with thermal dose. Hardness of potato was 3.07 ± 0.07 N after retort processing at 120 °C for 7 min, with a thermal dose of 127 ± 7 k °C s. Better hardness (3.72 ± 0.06 N) was obtained after retort processing at 150 °C for 3 min, with a thermal dose of 122 ± 6 k °C s. The data reported herein indicate that retort temperature should be appropriately controlled for different vegetable products based on their specific heat-penetration characteristics.

        RET Fusion Genes in Korean Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

        Recently, rearranged during transfection (RET) fusions have been identified in approximately 1% of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). To know the prevalence of RET fusion genes in Korean NSCLCs, we examined the RET fusion genes in 156 surgically resected NSCLCs using a reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. Two KIF5B-RET fusions and one CCDC6-RET fusion were identified. All three patients were females and never smokers with adenocarcinomas. RET fusion genes were mutually exclusive from EGFR, KRAS mutations and EML4-ALK fusion. RET fusion genes occur 1.9% (3 of 156) of surgically treated NSCLC patients in Koreans.

        차세대 GNSS를 위한 GIG 부호 기반 시간다중 이진부호심볼 변조기법

        In this paper, we propose a time multiplexed binary coded symbol (TMBCS) modulation scheme based on Gray and inverse Gray (GIG) codes for the next generation global navigation satellite system (GNSS). A representative binary coded symbol (BCS) is a binary offset carrier (BOC). Compared to the existing binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation, which is a representative GNSS modulation scheme, BOC modulation has a high degree of freedom in terms of frequency band shape design and is less affected by multipaths because the correlation function is sharper at the correct code phase. However, since several sub-peaks occur in the correlation function of the BOC-modulated pseudo-noise signal, false locks can easily occur during code tracking. This disadvantage is called the ambiguity of the BOC modulated signal. Time multiplexed binary Walsh spreading (TMBWS) modulation, which is a TMBCS scheme that uses a Walsh code, is one method for reducing ambiguity and is a perfectly orthogonal code with a very good correlation among BCSs. However, Walsh codes can only be generated with a power of two length. In this paper, we propose a novel TMBCS modulation scheme using quasi-orthogonal GIG codes that can be generated with lengths that are multiples of 2. The proposed scheme maintains the same bandwidth and spectral separation coefficient compared to TMBWS when a symbol of length 8 is used. In addition, the proposed scheme has a higher degree of freedom in terms of band shape design compared to TMBWS modulation, because the length can be designed in multiples of 2 (such as 6, 10, or 12) and has high multipath immunity with unambiguity. .
